Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
02/01-183.4-(Trend Weight: 183.0)- WTH? I did NOT expect this. Could it be the travel & restaurant from two days ago? Could it be the birthday celebration complete with cake/ice cream catching up? Could it be day 2 of no TMI? Could it be the worst sleep last night that I’ve had in years? Maybe it’s all one big ball of wax (or fat) all rolled up into one. In any case, I feel cheated when I probably shouldn’t. Looks like I’ll be spending much of this challenge chasing my own tail.

02/10-179.0-(Trend Weight: 181.9)- I think I have my dates all messed up but I am trying to weigh on Saturday’s so here I am. I’m not sure where the one on the 5th came from but it should be fixed now. I am down from the 5th but showed a small gain (under a pound) overnight for an unknown reason as I thought yesterday was on target. I ate a moderate day of about 1300 calories and 64 net carbs on my zig-zag diet. Sodium was about 2550 so it was a touch high. Fat and protein was in line or low. I did about 45 minutes of actual exercising and also tackled a home project which really helped me get extra steps in. TMI was good before weighing and my sleep was pretty good too. I know that weight standing still can be typical but an unexplained gain is always confusing. I will just have to trust my trend weight, which continues to go down, that I’m on the right track. I had two pieces of sugar-free dark chocolate last night that fell within my limits. Could that be it? I am glad to be back in the 170’s but it looks like I may be trying to hold on for dear life.

Goal weigh 64 kg.
7th Dec 2023 83.5 kg
11th Dec 83.1 kg
12th Dec 82.5 kg
13th Dec 82.1 kg
18th Dec 81.8 kg, I need to lose 46 grams a day to reach goal weight by the end of 2024
19th Dec 81.6 kg
31st Dec 81.5 kg, anniversary dinner for my partner and I, and Christmas just delayed goal day by about 10 days, thankfully Christmas only comes once a year
6th Jan, 81.4 kg, New Year indulging delayed goal day by about 6 days. I am now getting into the weight loss proper. I'm tracking my intake and walking a lot.
8th Jan 81.2 kg
25th Feb 80.0 kg
I've decided to aim for goal weight day to be August 24th. Mark your calendars. That's because it means it took 200 days to lose the second half of my complete weight loss. Of course it depends on one thing - my control of how much sugar I eat. Back of an envelope calculation shows I'm currently losing between 82 and 270 grams a day. Those numbers will become more accurate over the next few weeks.
1 -
I never figured it that close. If I continue to lose at the same rate, 32.4 grams/day, I should reach goal in
277.5 days, or a little over 9 months.
That's funny. I just hope I make it--ever. Lol1 -
Hi everyone,
Okay, I'm jumping back IN! (If that's okay). I'm afraid I've not been doing so well, goal-wise over these past several weeks; so effective TODAY, I call a personal "DO OVER"! I will be weighing in on Sundays, beginning today:
02/25: 150.2 - Day 1 - Initial stats below:
Today is actually 25 weeks until my 66th birthday and I'm hoping to reach my goal weight of 140 lbs. or less by then in order to get my BMI below 25.0. That means I would need to lose an average of about 7 ounces per week or 0.42 lb. to 0.44 lb. per week. This is entirely doable!😸
Have a great week everyone (last week in February and only 23 days until SPRING!🌱0 -
Right so I feel like I'm just wasting time. I got below 81 kg on 12th January and 6 1/2 weeks later I'm at 80.0 kg today. There are two reasons for that - not tracking my intake (only 14 days tracked) and high dependence on sugary food which is the biggest cause of overeating. So I'm posting my intake numbers and aiming for an average of 6,000 kilojoules. I want to walk 90+ minutes a day most days. I don't actually know what 6000+90 produces - we're going to find out. For uncertainty I'm going to use the simple method of 500 grams divided by the number of scale measurements.
February
26 80.0 kg 45+20+45 minutes walking 6405 kilojoules of food. Today I overate slightly and had the dreaded sugar. Walking period is good.1 -

I waited until the end of the month to update. Not at all happy with February, but it could have been worse! Ready for March. I had only 4 days in January that I consumed alcohol. I need to aim for a dryer March as well. Alcohol is detrimental to weight loss. I know that ...but I also love wine.
I think I'm going to mix up my work out plan a bit as well and see what happens...

02/29-177.0-(Trend Weight: 179.5)- My lowest weight since the 2020 Pandemic shutdown! For the next couple of months I will be eyeing the 160’s and dreaming, longing and yearning for that new decade which will bring me even better health. Nice round everyone! The final count is a 4.6 loss for me in February. I will continue to make a 4 lb loss my monthly goal as I would love to lose 4 pounds a month even on the months when it just seems my body has a different idea. So any progress is very good and I am very happy to end with a loss that met my goal. It’s rare.

I will weigh in on Saturdays and also on the first and last day of each month to get a monthly tally for myself. My weight swings back & forth a lot, mostly due to self-sabotage when I start doing well. However, I have managed to lose approximately 20 pounds since July of 2023. I expect the loss will begin to slow down a bit, but I am feeling pretty strong and confident that I can reach my goal in 2024.

03/01-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- No weigh Friday as I get up extra early to get grandson ready for the bus. I only weigh later if I lay back down but today I can’t. Also I take my once-per-week Fosamax on this day with 8 oz of water upon waking. Yesterday was a good clean eating day but hardly any movement or exercise so my calorie burn overall was very low. Today will probably not allow me much better. One of the new windows was put in yesterday in the bedroom and floor in bath was prepped for new sub=flooring. A flurry of activity here. Well, my friends, Its a new month. Time to “March” into better health and a more optimal weight (for most of us). Let’s go!

02/29-177.0-(Trend Weight: 179.5)- My lowest weight since the 2020 Pandemic shutdown! For the next couple of months I will be eyeing the 160’s and dreaming, longing and yearning for that new decade which will bring me even better health. The final count is a 0.6 loss for me in February. I will continue to make a 4 lb loss my monthly goal as I would love to lose 4 pounds a month but it just seems my body has a different idea. So any progress is very good and I am very happy to end with a loss. See you tomorrow as we continue on this wonderful challenge.

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change
Let’s go!

03/02-178.0-(Trend Weight: 179.3)- I’m not sure why the uptick from my Feb 29th weight since I had a very good day but I’m not surprised after such a big whoosh the day before. Likely my body is readjusting and settling in to a new comfortable place. I’ve just got to trust the process and keep my eye on the ball. For me that would be getting under 174.2. When I do that, it will be my lowest weight in 17 years. After that, my next mini goal would be to enter into the 160’s. But, hey, one thing at a time, right? Let’s CRUSH this month and show March who’s boss!

My Mantra:
🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
I change my workout plan this week from working each major body part 3x per week to 2x per week and balanced out the days as some went for 90 minutes. I also was slacking on the chest exercise day so I put that back in.
Over the course of February I added more Core and Stretch exercise and will continue.
Treadmill goal is a minimum of 30 minutes up to 45 minute daily, except Sunday.

My weight loss has drastically slowed since New Year's, but I still feel like I'm making really good progress. Instead of body weight, I'm shedding mental weight. I'm making peace with the idea of it taking me the rest of this year to lose the last 10-15 pounds, since I want to continue to build the confidence that I can do this for the rest of my life.
As I near the year mark since starting on this journey, I am finding balance between the eating style that keeps me nourished and healthy and the eating style that celebrates occasions and new experiences. We've had a lot of "occasions" the past two months and I've been able to enjoy them without as much food worry AND have continued to lose, albeit at a slower rate. So I'm thinking that this year is more about developing that healthier relationship with food and my body than getting to that "ideal" weight, but I'll take any weight loss I can get.2 -
