HW: 194.7 (88.3 kg) April 25, 2020
END WT RND 247: 177.4 (80.5 kg)
1/17- 176.8 (80.2 kg) My rheumatologist noticed I was a few pounds down from my last appointment six months ago.
1/18- 176.7 Comfort food tonight. Hamburger Helper Italian Basil Penne. High sodium, but within my calories.
1/19- 176.5 Coworkers suggested pizza from a local place for lunch. The restaurant doesn't have calories online, so I guesstimated with a mod pizza. That took most of my allotment, so good thing it was very filling. And delicious!
1/20- 176.1 Helped my sister do some painting today, plan to help again a few hours tomorrow. Steak and potatoes for dinner tonight.
1/21- 175.2 (79.5 kg) New low appeared on the scale. I suspect it was water weight, but even if I'm up for a while, I have faith I'll see it and new lows if I stick with it. Also, even though I don't use kgs outside of online, they make for different milestones in addition to the pound ones. Under 80 kgs! Next looking forward to being under 175.
1/22- 174.8 Still stiff this evening when I sit still for a while due to the painting this weekend. Also slept badly last night. Hoping for a good night's rest tonight.
1/23- 174.6 Dog barked and growled at nothing for 2 hours last night from midnight to 2 AM. My husband is out of town for work and I typically don't mind being home alone, but the dog was freaking me out even though there was nothing outside. Apparently, all I had to do to get him to sleep is tell Alexa to play Christmas music. Restaurant with a friend tonight, so calories were a guess. I think I didn't do too bad.
1/24- 175.6 Don't mind the pound swing up. I had so many cravings today, so I went a hundred and fifty calories over goal with a mini HΓ€agen Dazs chocolate ice cream bar. I don't feel bad or guilty about that, but I don't want the exceptions (just one more Pepsi, a few more chips, more cheese please, a second helping of dinner, etc.) to become the norm again. Tomorrow is a new day to do my best.
1/25- 175.8 Snuggled under the blankets and heading to sleep just a little early.

πΎβοΈπTen More Days πβοΈπΎ
Iβm a 65 year young Oregon gal working on getting rid of those last 5-8 pounds. Last round I hit my first goal of 135, now working to hit my next goal of 130. The plan this round continues to be a minimum of 10,000 steps π£, 2-3 days a week at the gymποΈββοΈ, logging βοΈ everyday with no snacking after 8:00, and limiting the π·to social events only. And of course guzzling the water π§!!!

65 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 248 (my 178th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round, as always, so grateful.
Goals for this round to, to lose 1.5 pounds, stay strong look forward to next holiday β s week with the family in this country with a heated indoor swimming pool on site which we plan on using every day, thatβs 4 weeks away so Iβd ideally like to lose 5 pounds, that is doable if I am sensible and donβt binge eat. Good luck everyone for a successful round.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, itβs taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Day, Weight, Comment
SW RND 248
1/17 142.6 β 6.96 miles walked yesterday, two thirds of exercise calories eaten back.
1/18 141.4 β 9.49 miles walked, no exercise calories eaten back.
1/19 DNW or track βΉ
1/20 144 β 9.49 miles walked yesterday, I have to admit that I found some left over Christmas chocolate and I had a major 2 day binge, didnβt weigh yesterday. Got myself together this morning and will try again!
1/21 143.6 β 10.9 miles walked; two thirds of exercise calories eaten back. It feels better to be back under control. Today we travel 2 hours each way to celebrate DDβs 40th birthday, how did that happen!! Donβt feel that much older than 40 myself, so really donβt feel like the mother of a 40-year-old! It's for brunch and I know will be very carb heavy, I'm trying to plan in advance.
1/22 144 β no structured walking due to the celebrations and sitting in the car, but wonderful to be with DD, DS & their respective families.
1/23 145 - !!!! I need to get my snacking under control & rein in, this is a wake-up call, I know what I need to do, I just need to do it. 3 days to turn this around this round. 9.82 miles walked.
1/24 144.4 β better, 8.95 miles walked, met DS for lunch, made sensible choices, all exercise calories plus116 eaten, BUT NO snacking π .
1/25 143.6 β 11.46 miles walked, a quarter of exercise calories eaten back.
1/26 143.6 β no structured walking as childminding little DGS hence calories over. A pound gain this round, a disappointing result, but only myself to blame, Iβll move on and keep trying.
ππThis is NOT A DIET. Itβs a LIFESTYLE & I AM WHAT I EAT!!!!!

Hi, its Kelly -6C out today and possible storms but its Friday!
5'11" My weight has been as high as 222 in the last 3 months. Participating because it keeps my mind on the goal. This round I would like to just end the round a little lower than I started.

1/19 210.1 When I am heading off to make my coffee I like to try and guess what the scale is going to say. Today I was wrong. I felt "meh" and bloated and still lost. Other days I step on the scale confident that it is lower, and it rewards that sass with a gain lol

Goals for this round:
Tomorrow we leave for a long weekend at a New England B&B, with breakfasts that are amazing and dinners out every night. But we'll be snowshoeing every day so I should be able to maintain. These 5 days will be a great test on keeping to the plan while enjoying a vacation. Real life beta testΒ
*maintain weight at 140.8 (or lose slightly when I get back)
*enjoy my vacation without obsessing, but weigh every day (travel scale!)
*have fun and make this work for the long run!

01/26- 140.0 YAY!
1/26- just in time for the end of this round, a step down the hill. I'm seeing a pattern with my weight loss which encourages me to keep at it and be confident in my choices rather than the scale. See you all in Rnd 249!8 -
Round 248
January 17 - 26, 2024
62 year old female, 5β5β. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then weight up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 β 153 (lost 40, then stress took off another 2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress became gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 β 146.6
GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two βkidsβ, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an βall in or notβ person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my motherβs care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
1/17 β 128.2 Makes absolutely no sense BUT I tracked perfectly yesterday, and I actually solidly under ate. So, this is where I am trusting my tracking and not the scale and moving ahead with confidence.
1/18 β 127.4 So βyesterdayβ cleared up, just as I anticipated. Did I end up back at 127.2 where I started? No, but also last night I faced eating a meal that I could not plan for, and was one for which it was necessary that I not pull out the βI track my foodβ, a point which I normally am more than willing to share as I think tracking is awesome (remember I like data). DH and I were invited for dinner by the hard working, but divisive/temperamental, head of our condo association. He is French, so the meal was actually quite healthy, but I am sure somewhat more than my normal calories. Plus he served champagne, then wine (I rarely drink), and possibly the best steak I have ever had (note that I never order steaks in restaurants, so no restaurant steak to compare to). Anyhow, overall happy with the number. Was a nice evening, and no condo drama occurred, which was a concern (Iβm sure it was a concern for him as well). Happy Thursday all!
1/19 β 127.8 truly surprised. numbers were good yesterday and when I got up this morning I felt great. I totally expected a nice βdownβ. Continuing with the trusting my tracking. As I mentioned, numbers were good and calories were not too high, not too low, and did include a nice walk yesterday, even though I have walked farther at other times. Tonightβs dinner is the same as 1/16. Letβs see if I get the crazy βupβ again. Fun experiment!
1/20 β 126.8 Sooooo, the up on 1/17 was not due to dinner on 1/16, as I had the exact same dinner last night and dropped instead of gaining. The mysteries of weight loss/maintenance continues. Grateful for the drop. I am getting back closer to the range in which I would like to remain.
The βboysβ (AKA Harry and Han Solo, cats) are doing wellβ¦. Finally. Han is dropping a little (11 lb 12.5 oz), and Harry (10 lb 13 oz) who had been vomiting and dropping weight, is gaining nicely. My preference for both would be between 11 and 11.25 lb. I doubt Han will ever see that but I will settle for striving to keep him under 12 lb. Meanwhile, Harry might actually get to these numbers.
1/21 β 129.0 Ouch! Yes, I decided to eat unrestricted at a restaurant last night, complete with cheesecake for dessert. Today, is back to normal. Iβll expect the scale to reflect normalcy again in just a day or two.
1/22 β 128.0 Starting to go down. Heading out for a fast walk this morning, then Iβll join the girls for the usual pace. Tracking for the day. Making sure I hit my numbers.
1/23 β 128.2 Calories and exercise fine. Scale not reflecting it. There is one other new factor that is going to play with the number, some higher intensity exercise. In my 2023 snowbird season, I was walking a lot and even running. After heading north, I even entered one 5k as a runner last May. Soon thereafter, my consistency was gone. In the past when I have done 5kβs, I have entered a couple as a walker, which goes virtually unrecognized, with people on the sidelines encouraging you to βrunβ because they assume you are a tired runner, instead of cheering you on as an awesome walker. WELL, I spotted a 5K that recognizes both runners and walkers next month, and I have entered as a walker. Trying to now step up my game. Yesterday I did a practice 5k before joining the girls. Looking at last yearβs results, I would have taken second place behind a 40 year old male. Anyhow, point of the story is muscle fluid retention from the higher intensity. It will be playing with the scale as well during my adaptation phase.
1/24 β 128.0 now I am actually surprised that the scale has not come back down. Would really prefer to not have an βupβ on the last day, the 26th.
1/25 β 128.0 confusion continues. Literally everything tracked. Came in just over 1500 cal for the day, and my morning walk was worth roughly 300 calories. I know I am doing the right things, so trusting it all. I do not expect tomorrow to be good as I am having Pad Thai for dinner tonight (expect sodium gain), and shortly I am going out for a fast walk (fluid retention in muscles). Today, I also am going to be preparing for tomorrowβs flight home. Will be there for a week. Hereβs to hoping I am wrong about tomorrowβs scale reading!
1/26 β 128.6 OK, so not the number I wanted to end the round with, but I see my numbers and am confident in my actions. Also, βoutputβ (or TMI to you all) in for matching βinputβ. I expect this all to eventually sort out. The good news is that next round, ending with a βdownβ just got easier. :P
Today, I fly a planned trip back north for a week. Yesterday was wild. Momβs aid called talking of issues. Long story short, there is a UTI involved. Mom is βshockedβ. Hopefully, clearing it will also solve the physical complaints that developed just in the past few days. Ironically, my trip home is well timed.
On a happy note, I seemed to have turned around Harry (the cat)βs eating problem and his weight is rebounding, and Hanβs in staying under 12 lb as I prefer. Means I am making balanced homemade food for Harry, but it is working.

I had planned to hit the πΎball machine in the afternoon, so did not walk early, but when I walked out of the door for πΎ, I turned around because it was simply too darn cold. Such a lightweight. Weight: I feel like the scale is definitely creeping up from lack of inactivityβ¦ Iβm thinking itβs sad that I canβt eat 1500 to 1700 cal a day even when Iβm burning π₯ 3 to 500 per dayβ¦ Rationally, I know Iβm also trying to build muscle which will push the scale up if Iβm not simultaneously losing fat, but it just bothers meβ¦ Itβs a lifelong battle with the scale raising its ugly head. To not acknowledge, these feelings would be denialβ¦ I have to face them head on. But I know they are only feelingsβ¦ If I change my thought patterns, I will change my feelings. Wow itβs always something.
No tennis yesterday but was able to power-walk. Sort of blah. Rain & cold have taken me out of routine. Thatβs on me. Learning to deal through positive thoughts and a βcan-do will-doβ attitude. Hanging on = NSV. I have to learn to be ok with βevenβ & βho-humβ - & to be thankful for the mundane βevery-dayβ. π

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional π’ roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to maintain approx. 130lbs and IN SHAPE. Pretty clear that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I age it becomes much, MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could lose 15lbs easy in 8 weeks up to 2020ish β¦ This is absolutely not true anymore!
While active with πΆββοΈ& πΎ itβs clear a ST routine is absent. Time to incorporate ST ποΈββοΈ as my TRUE focus.

01/26 - 153.1 - Well... oops. BF had an appointment just before lunch and ended up bringing me home some fast food (Arby's). I ate the full French dip (I stopped halfway and was still quite hungry) but managed to keep the fries to just a few (4 or 5) and didn't take a single sip of the Dr. Pepper, no matter how much my taste buds begged. I also drank over 100oz of water and took my lactose pills with both lunch and dinner. Dinner was a carb- and cheese- heavy calzone which I didn't finish. I knew I'd be up but I hate that I was up this much on the end of the round. Oh well, I've seen 151 so I know I can do that next round. No run, my knee is still hurting and feels stiff. BF isn't up and I didn't set out workout clothes (thinking he'd be up and out of the room before me like he has all week) so can't knock out a Peloton ride (it's in his office so by the time I can get changed, he'll be working). I'll do some stretching and walk the dogs today, give my knee a couple days of solid rest in hopes it'll be ready to go next week. Off today so I have to get my blood drawn and I'll get groceries while I'm out and about. Low carb today so should be good!
Previous Day's Comments01/17 - A drop after low carb day and TMI. I was also able to get the heaters working long enough and good enough to get just enough flow of water for a quick shower for both BF and I. It wasn't thorough, but I don't feel so awful and gross anymore. No workouts until a shower is guaranteed which may not be until next week. We may be above freezing during the day, but we're below freezing overnight until Sunday (or so the forecast says) and our pipes have proven that overnight is enough to stop the water flow. I'm content to maintain 152.x for this round given the circumstances to start off. If I lose more, great! If not, maintenance is the goal. I've done well maintaining through the last 3 days so I feel confident I can manage going forward well enough.
01/18 - Not bad for a "normal" eating day! I made homemade (fully from scratch) ramekin pot pies. I made a full recipe and froze what we didn't eat last night for future use. I woke up with full water pressure this morning which was exciting. I had an early work meeting so I'm hoping through the day I can incorporate some bodyweight exercises to get movement in and take a mental break from the tedious work task I have today and tomorrow. Maybe squeeze in a run tomorrow. Even though it's a workday I can always start an hour later than normal and work until my normal time since it's an 8 hour day versus my normal 9 hours. Lunch today is low carb pizza rolls and dinner is bacon chicken thighs in garlic cream sauce with a side salad (possibly cauliflower rice if BF wants). Not fasting but likely able to push through until lunch with only my coffee (Ryze mushroom coffee, Vital Proteins powder (1/2 serving), and 1/4 Atkins Creamy Caramel protein shake as my creamer alternate)
01/19 - Yesterday was not ideal at all. I believe too much salt, but also simply eating too much. My poor tummy hurt by the time I went to bed. I've been so good about not overeating lately and I hadn't had that level of "so full my tummy hurts hours later" in so long I forgot how miserable I used to live. I'm glad it's over. Only managed one set of pushups and squats through the day which was less than ideal, as well. This morning includes wind gusts of 40-50mph so I'll be riding the Peloton instead. It will be my first time so going to take it easy to get back into the workout groove and also learn it. Rain every day except Thursday next week so running is up in the air again. I have a light rain jacket if it's only sprinkling but it isn't sufficient for a downpour. Due to living in the country, I need to take my phone and I have no good way to protect it in that kind of downpour during a long run. My 5k-10k app starts me off with running 10 minutes, walk 1, run 10 minutes, walk 1, and run 10 minutes before cooling down. May need to run on the walking pad or up the Peloton workouts to make up for the running a bit. Leftover soup for lunch (potato leek) and steak with sides for dinner. One of those sides will be a veg so I'll focus on the steak and veg to get back on track.
01/20 - DNP
01/21 - DNP
01/22 - Up today due to fast food. I was getting shaky and nauseous while we were out helping the boys due to missing breakfast and lunch and that was our only option. My tummy hurt all night last night due to it and I'm super bloated this morning. Hopefully it'll drop off again soon. Run scheduled for this morning. BF got up and did the Peloton. He has a work challenge going on (3 of our good friends locally all work for same company - it's virtual, too) so they're on a team. He said he has to get up and work out 15 minutes every day and get 5000 steps so he doesn't let the team down. Good! It got me out of bed at 515, the alarm I've been ignoring due to it still being too dark to run. It's good for me to get up and get an early start on the day anyway. Especially when it starts getting light earlier in the day as spring arrives. TOM set to arrive this week, likely in the next 2-3 days so scale may be bouncy. I'm mentally ready for that.
01/23 - Fast food weight dropped off! No TOM but glad to see a drop despite feeling a tad bloated with that on the horizon. No run, as planned, since storms keep forming over and around us - don't want to risk being outside in the rain if there's potential for a storm/lightning (which there is). Instead, I rode Peloton for a 30 minute advanced beginners workout (moving up!) and it was a challenge but in a good way - I had to use the same mental tricks I use during runs to keep going but I had the added bonus of the coach to help guide me through. Normal eating day so focus is on portion control and avoid snacking. I won against a snack attack yesterday: I wasn't actually hungry and the water I had been sipping on wasn't improving the feeling. After sitting with the feeling and analyzing it, I realized I was likely trying to use food as a way to procrastinate work since I was working on a tedious document. It was hard to ignore it, but knowing the reasoning gave me a bit more resolve and got me through to a delicious dinner.
01/24 - I'm alright with this, especially after a "normal" eating day. I was about 110 net carbs for the day so not terrible compared my old normal way of eating. My knee, in the region of the meniscus, was causing absolutely horrible dull aching pain through the night and into this morning. Despite it not raining, I chose to forego running and did a strength workout and 15 minute stretch instead. I also took Smoke on a longer walk while BF took Harley on his walk. It's feeling better - still a dull ache, but far less intense. I can forget about it if I'm sufficiently distracted unlike last night when the pain was overwhelming. It felt like the horrid growing pains I used to have as a kid that would keep me awake all night. Anyway, glad the worst seems to be over. I'm tentatively planning a run tomorrow depending on how this knee feels through today and tonight. Low Carb today so should be good!
01/25 - Whoohoo!! 152 has been such a hard number to break past. Today is a normal eating day and we have pizza calzones on the menu for tonight. Going to try to be sensible about that and offset it through the day. Still no TOM and I'm feeling quite muscular sore from the bike and strength workout so I'm shocked I'm not holding on to more water. I'll likely still be up tomorrow on the scale, but I understand and know why. Knee is still a little painful so I decided to hop on the Peloton again this morning rather than try to run (if something happened on the run, I'd be stranded. On the bike, I'm at least home, warm and safe). It's feeling better today than it did yesterday so I'm hoping for a chance to run tomorrow. Will take it easy, though, and if not 100% I'll stick to the bike.9 -

SW RND 248: 135.6 (end of last round).
1/17: 136.2. Did a 5 mile run, walked twice, and did good on calories. Right now, I'm just going to trust the process because I know I am doing everything 'right'.
1/18: 135.1. Calories were good, went for a walk but no run.
1/19: 133.8. calories were under, did a 5 mile run. It's nice to be rewarded for my efforts with a good number on the scale.
1/20: 137.1. Night out with friends and a few drinks. Oh well.
1/21: 137.1. period started yesterday, which might be causing some water retention. Food hasn't been the greatest. I have a 10k race in a couple of hours. It's my first race and I am super nervous, but it should be fun.
1/22: 135.5. Good day yesterday. 10k race went great. Food was good. Still (hopefully) holding onto some PMS bloat, which should come off soon.
1/23: 135.6. I'm still trusting the process, all though I'm getting a bit frustrated again. But I'm just taking it one day at a time. Food was good, exercising was good with a walk and a 3 mile run.
1/24: 133.5. Yay!!! Food was under my goal, went for a 3 mile run.
1/25: 132.1. I'm so excited, this is a new low weight for me. I'm glad I trusted the process and kept with it. I would be so thrilled if I stayed mostly in the 132-133 range for the next round. No run yesterday but went for a walk and food was under.
1/26: 132.6. I'm very happy with how this round is ending. Not much sleep last night due to my sons, and no run, but food was good.10 -

1/17 133.0 Iβm pleased with this but expect it to go up in the next day or two. I wanted something with crunch and ate 5 saltines with butter. Back βon the wagonβ but no idea what is the snack/supper they are serving at bingo tonight.
1/18 134.5 I was weak. Did great with sub sandwich - pulled all of the soft white bread out and used the crusts to make my sandwich, added onion, tomato and lettuce. I should have stopped there but ate 2 bakery cookies. Iβm okay with this though. I should be able to get rid of that quickly.
1/19 134.0 Boing, boing, boing. Iβm good with this. Keeping everything under control.
1/20 134.0 OMAD was later than I like (after 5) due to HOA workshop DH was conducting. Shedding may take longer than when we ate earlier. It is what it is. In 10 days Iβll be going on a 6 day quilt retreat. No meals provided. The ladies Iβm going with try to eat low carb too and one husband will be playing βUber Eatsβ for us.
1/21 134.0 Had a scratchy throat last evening and this morning I seem to have lost my voice. Sucking on zinc drops (SF) so my coffee tastes awful.
1/22 134.5 I feel as if Iβve been run over by a truck. How did my weight go up when I only had about 5 ounces of chicken and a small side salad? Ugh! Coffee still tastes awful.
1/23 134.0 Well, I should have taken my own advice and waited a day or two. I havenβt been sick in so long and I felt so miserable that I wanted a grilled cheese and cream of tomato soup. My ultimate comfort food. And I gave in. My DH, who at one time yesterday said I didnβt feel THAT bad, went to the store and bought bread and 2 cans of Campbellβs tomato soup. Today I feel much better. No aching skin and joints so far.
1/24 134.5. Feeling somewhat better. Drainage making me cough. Cabin fever so we are going to lun-ner with friends. An Italian place thatβs extremely popular - need a reservation at 2:30 in the afternoon. I plan to get eggplant Parmesan with no pasta.
1/25 133.5 My eggplant was good. I could only eat half. I would describe it as eggplant lasagna rather than Parmesan. No pasta, layered with ricotta and I asked for veg instead of pasta. UGH I forgot about our appointment with the retina specialist at 8:45 - sheβs an hour across town.
1/26 133.5 Made 2 trips to the bathroom after weighing so may be lower. π€·ββοΈ I feel so rotten that I really donβt care at the moment. I have to go to pick up my computers at noon so Iβm not planning on doing anything else until then.9 -

ππΎββοΈ Don't think, just do it!!
Goals this round:
- Tracking to the best of my ability πand staying under calorie budget -- Defining a higher calorie budget which will make the loss slower but again, more sustainable.
Also get rid of the oops factor. When targets are too low, it easy to say...Oops, I went over so I
might as well have...<fill in the blank>
Update: I increased my calorie budget and am having trouble meeting it with the right macros.
Update: I hit my protein macro once in the last 10 days.... it's hard!

SW: 218.4 end of round 247
1/17 216.8 Just riding the wave
1/18 217.0 Accepted....
1/19 216.8 I'll take it!! Today was a tough gym day. Still battling a cold that is bad enough to make me feel "meh", but not classify as "sick"...It was a tough 30 minutes on the treadmill but I did it!
1/20 215.4πππ I think we are having pizza today π It was a gift from Christmas from goldbelly.... I will be happy to "hold" for the next day or two...it is the WEEKEND!
1/21 216.8 Expected that because yesterday was quite a drop. No worries
1/22 216.4 Seems reasonable. Rounds end on a Friday...before the weekend...hoping for a good one!
1/23 216.8
1/24 216.8 I think I hear the brakes squeaking....I had a BAD day yesterday. It started with not being able to work out. I had full intention...walked out the door to an ice rink. I was very afraid of falling. Luckily I had not let go of the door, so I was able to steady myself and get back inside. If I had let go, I would have been stuck as this door does not open from the outside. At any rate, I came back upstairs and turned on a youtube exercise channel. I did about 30 minutes but it was not the same. So I was bummed as I didn't get my exercise consequently my step count would be low etc. I went in late to work to allow them to get some salt down, both in my apartment parking lot and the work lot. I got to work and my boss was taking orders for lunch....chick fi la...I had brought a nice healthy lunch but....sure...3 chicken strips and waffle fries later. The ALL or None mentality is kicking in! My other boss decides, hey....we are going to give you more responsibility (in a field that I have no knowledge) but we can't pay you any more money.....I get home and my husband who is also abstaining from alcohol says, lets have a pomegranate sour and proceeds to make a batch. I have no defense mechanism at this point. Why not? And I might as well skip the chicken in the fridge that I planned to cook, and we might as well have pizza (his sister gave him frozen pizza from a specialty restaurant for his birthday). I definitely had an ALL or NONE mentality and I need to fix that right away! Good news, today I am back on track. I got my exercise in, had a healthy lunch and plan for dinner, and no alcoholπ
1/25 216.4
1/26 216.4 Not all all happy with the slow down but maybe Tuesday did more damage that I expected. And this is one of the things about maintenance that scares me...one bad day and I come to a stand still. But...moving on to the next round. Still lower than I started! Today will be a good day!
@judefit1The view from this plateau is of a "new me" who is patient and measured, calm in the face of frustration and easy to live with when changing her routine. I see her, just off there in the distance...
Love this!
@Zaxa2021 ~Trusting the process is key, so I'm learning. Congrats on a job well done!
@ComandJarvis ~ Kudos on getting past 152! Hope your knee is feeling better! oops..just read your post from today. Well, you did do it...now do it again!
@refactored ~ Nice movement on the scale...finally huh? π
@girlsaint ~ Nice round! Congrats!
@Smoda61 ~ Safe travels.
@sands4 ~ great progress. Keep it up!π

Nothing to report. π I hope everyone in the frigid zone is warm and safe.
1/18 - 191.8
I did reasonably well yesterday, although I ate more bread than intended. Day by day. Off to get a little exercise shoveling the driveway.
1/19 - 192.4
Phooey. No idea why and Iβm not going to worry about it. Just keep on with calories control, more protein, less bread.
1/20 - 191.6
Itβs 3F this morning, feels like -15F. Lovely. Iβm off in a bit to a friendβs house to knit in company for a couple of hours. Iβm sure there will be snacks, but Iβll try to just keep my hands busy. Have a lovely Saturday, friends!

Itβs a bright, sunny morning and 3F. But itβs supposed to warm up this week, so Iβm looking forward to walks! Have a lovely Sunday!
1/22 - 192.6
Whaaaaa? Water. Oh, well, just plugging away. At least itβs a bit warmerβall the way up to 24F! π
1/23 - 192.6
I went out for lunch with a friend and instead of the salad Iβd planned on had a breakfast comboβeggs, bacon, French toast. I didnβt eat any dinner, just an orange early evening, so I was barely over calories, but the bacon was very salty and I was a bit stuffed. We need to go somewhere other than this diner we love. Next weekβ¦.
1/24 - 191.6
Good. Water gain is finally gone.
1/25 - 191.6
The sidewalks have finally melted, so Iβm off for a walk in a few minutes. They were really slick yesterday, with rain on top of ice, and I almost fell a couple of times going for the mail. Iβm keen for Spring! π·π·π·

01/25 -185.2- (Trend weight 183.7) Yesterday was one of the planned higher calorie and carb days on the zig-zag plan. In addition, today is no TMI x 2 so a jump up is disappointing but not surprising. Today I have scheduled one of the extra low calorie days. I may try to weigh in tomorrow (I usually donβt on Fridays due to my Friday school schedule for DGS.) If so, it will probably be a very late weigh-in unless they cancel schools again tomorrow. I hate to miss the final challenge weigh-in. Anyway, my cat is making me feel very pudgy. She has began to knead my stomach again before laying down on my lap. That is actually as clear an indicator to me as my scale. Like a human lie-detector. Kindaβ¦.Sortaβ¦.. I may have a long way to go in the stomach area of weight loss, if truth be told.
01/26 -182.4- (Trend weight 183.6) This is a nice drop overnight thanks to finally achieving TMI and also having the extra low cal & carb day yesterday on my zig-zag plan. I did practically zero exercise yesterday, just a little chair yoga, so I need to get some movement in today. It will be difficult while babysitting my DGS, he is so demanding. But I can try to sneak some in before I meet the school bus at 3:30. Itβs just that there are other things I need to do also before he gets here. Wow, I used to love Fridays before I retired. Now they are a discombobulated ball of confusion filled with whatchamacallits and thingamajigs. Oh, the joys of being a Nana! See you in 249!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

1/17 170.6 ok, maybe my scales needs new batteries. Or maybe I'm dehydrated. Or both. Ate well yesterday. No exercise. Finally got out of the house for some fresh air and sunshine. Slept ok.
1/18. 170.6 ate well. No exercise but ran lots of errands, so at least some movement and some sunshine. Slept long and well. I looked back over some weight averaging, and I've been losing an average of 2 pounds a month for the last 5 months. I guess thats pretty good for this stage of the game.
1/19 172 i think yesterday's pasta lunch is showing. Didn't exercise but got out and shopped. Slept so well. Loving my bed these days.
1/20 171.6 so the pasta lunch may be gone, but yesterday's donut holes are showing instead. Ate 85% healthy yesterday. Barely moved, it was so cold. Cold again today. π€§ not sure we're breaking records, but they're digging them out to compare. Slept 4 good hours. Is this a theme today? Seems lots of us had short nights.
1/21. 171 ate 100% healthy, but baked late. No exercise. Did I really sleep that long?
1/22. 172.6 ? Ate healthy, under calories. No exercise. Another good night.
1/23 173.5. Earned this. Was hungry all day yesterday, so I ate. Tried to keep it reasonably healthy. Slept well for 5 hours. I was expecting that, too, since I slept so long the 2 previous nights. No exercise, but looks like it may be warm enough for a short walk today.
1/24. 174.2 more of Monday's overeating. Yesterday was better. Just 50 calories over, today will be better. By the time it got warm Yesterday it was raining, so no exercise. Very good sleep.
1/25. 173.4. Good. On the way back down. Ate over calories again cause I had seconds of kale salad. I definitely forgive myself. Didn't walk, but shopped, so got a little exercise. Slept very well.
1/26. 172.4. Good to end on a down note, but pasta again yesterday, so probably up again tomorrow. Shopped. Ate well, under calories. Had a cookie. Thatβs rare for me. It was good, but every time I have a cookie or cake, it just reminds me that I'm really not missing much. Slept soooo long and hard.
The scale says up for the Round, but I don't think I really am. Probably not down, either. Just little blips on the scale. Life was good this round. π let's hope next one is even better.

1/17 233 / Yesterday wasn't everything that I was hoping for it to be thanks to some unexpected news at night, but I stayed the course and didn't eat my feelings and it paid off on the scale.
1/18 231.4 / Been about a month since I've been at this weight. Woo hoo. Back at indoor soccer tonight.
1/19 233.2 / Soccer game was fun last night but we were terrible. Got some running around in an otherwise low step day. Today has been good - I am working from home so I got to use my lunch break to ride the Peloton. Love that.
1/20 232.2 / Ended up doing two rides yesterday and I treated myself to a bubble bath after some cleaning. Felt great to pamper myself.
1/21 236 / Yesterday was a relaxing day. We also ate too much take-out... day just sorta ended up that way. Weekends haven't been as disciplined as week days which slows my progress.
1/22 233 / Got a one hour ride in on the Peloton before watching my Bills suffer a crushing defeat. Cheering for the Lions now! Working from home today so I was able to ride the Peloton before work.. love that!
1/23 232.2 / Got on the Peloton again tonight. I feel like it's been a long while since I've been on three days in a row. Feels really good.
1/24 230.2 / I had my dinner out with friends tonight and we share a bunch of food. Didn't track. Didn't overeat going in but the meal was bigger than usual. A nice visit.
1/25 232.8 / Busy day today. Ending the night with salad, water, and my soccer game.
1/26 233.2 / Scored a goal at soccer last night. Late night. Stood in front of the pantry and mindlessly shoved chips and chocolate into my mouth. Oops.6 -

This round I am going to focus on eating 3 meals per day and staying within my calorie budget. For exercise, I will focus on getting 22 active minutes per day. I also need to keep showing up here no matter what the scale says!
SW RND 248 : 164.7 lbs
1/17 : 164.5 lbs
1/18 : 164.2 lbs Surprised by the drop because I ate a lot of curry last night. I might be dehydrated.
1/19 : 164.2 lbs I need a plan for pizza night. We make small pizzas from scratch and the home made base is delicious but calorific. I think I will aim for 4 slices which is about 500 calories according to my calculations. I will eat slowly and mindfully with lots of sips of water in between. Last week I ate 6 slices which was way too much and I felt over full.
1/20 : 164.2 lbs I am so pleased that I stuck to my plan for pizza night. Usually I gain about a pound then spend the rest of the challenge trying to lose it again. I felt full after 4 slices and most importantly, I didn't feel like I was missing out. Even though my the scale hasn't moved for a few days, I feel like I am making progress.
1/21 : 164.2 lbs I think eating slowly had really helped me get more pleasure out of eating small amounts of treats. Yesterday my kids made some apple crumble and it took the family less than 5 minutes to eat a their slices. I made my small slice last 15 minutes. I know I have rubbished mindful eating in the past but for me it is really helping. Still no movement on the scale though. I am surprised the scale would actually weigh me so consistently the same weight. Surely there would be fluid fluctuations from day to day that should show up on the scale? My scale remembers different people's weight. I suspect there is logic in the scale that snaps the weight to my last weight if it is within a certain margin. Or perhaps my scale is broken.
1/22 : 164.5 lbs
1/23 : 163.8 lbs
1/24 : 163.1 lbs
1/25 : 162.9 lbs
1/26 : 162.9 lbs I am happy with a 1.8 pound loss this round. If I average out all my losses from previous rounds, I lose on average 1.3 pounds per round so I have done better than average. It's pizza night tonight again. I need to be strong and stick to 4 small slices again like I did earlier in this round. I think it's weird that I feel like I am missing out before I eat the pizza but afterwards feel full and satisfied with 4 slices. I guess it is like giving up snacking where my brain needed a few weeks to be assured that I won't feel hungry in between 3 larger meals. I barely feel like I am missing snacks now so hopefully in a few more weeks that will develop with pizza as well.6 -

1/17 - 153.2 - very excited to be starting with a loss - now I need to hold it. Celebration season is over and looking forward to getting back into a normal routine - although what I thought was going to be a quiet weekend this weekend has suddenly become very busy. Winter Warrior Challenge #17 - 3 miles - still snow covered roads and extremely low wind-chills. 14 days left to go.
1/18 - 154.5 π©. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #18 - walked 3 miles to give mynlegs a rest. Roads are still snow covered, 17 degrees Fahrenheit, feels like 10 - felt warm compared to the past 4 days π
1/19 - 152.8 π―. Not sure how that happened, but happy to see it. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #19. Still snow covered roads (it's been too cold to melt) and super cold π₯Ά but I got it done. On the downward slide βonlyβ 12 days to go π€ͺ
1/20 - 152.3. Hoping this holds but going out to dinner at very fancy new restaurant tonight so thinking this will likely go the other way tomorrow. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #20 - 5 miles. Only 11 more days to go!
1/21- 152.5 - busy day - lots of car time- drove 2 hours to watch my daughter compete in an indoor track meet - lots of random food but kept things as healthy as possible and did not go overboard. Noted that indoor runners seem a lot warmer than I've been lately π€ π π - Winter Warrior Challenge Day #21 β 3 miles. Still very cold and snow covered roads. It is supposed to warm up a bit this week so hoping I can finish this challenge on clear roads π€
1/22 - 152.6 - is this sticking???? Fingers crossed. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #22 - ONLY 10 DAYS LEFT - and I am SO excited. The weather has been brutal - which is the point of the challenge - but it is definitely getting old. Tomorrow we are expecting 3 inches of snow covered with a .3 inch glaze of ice⦠should make for interesting running
1/23 - 153.7 - slowly creeping up since Saturday. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #23 - rain this morning - was not pleasant but actually made the traction in the snow better. Hoping it doesnβt freeze overnight and make things extra treacherous tomorrow + 30 mins strength training.
1/24 - 153.0 Going back in the right direction. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #24 β walked 3 miles because it was 8:30 pm and running 3 miles was the very last thing on earth I wanted to do but after 23 days, I wasn't going to give up now. Tomorrow will be a better day.
1/25 - 151.9 - Winter Warrior Challenge Day #25
1/26 - 152.4 - did not post yesterday - itβs been an exhausting few days and I was already in bed turning off the light to go to sleep when I remembered. My 17 y/o daughter was in a car accident on Wednesday evening. It was a serious collision and her car was totaled - but she as well as the people who were in the car she hit were remarkably un-injured. We thought she had nothing but a burn on her hand from the airbag and a bruise on her leg, but this morning I noticed her pupils were weirdly dilated so we spent the first half of the day in the ER. She was diagnosed with a concussion and I am thankful that it was not more serious than that - but I am emotionally exhausted from it all. I had planned to run at lunch but the trip to the ER ruined that plan. Now I am just too tired to run and have absolutely no motivation so I will go out and walk 3 miles with my puppies to clear my head and keep my 3 mile/day streak going. Iβve come too far in the Winter Warrior Challenge to give up now, even if it is the last thing I want to do (again) - I will regret not doing it tomorrow. Very happy there are only 5 days left after today. Total loss this round was 3.1 lbs π

@reshii_devil What is going on with my post menopausal belly lately is very strange. I have lost enough weight on the upper stomach, just below the breast in the midriff area that my ribs stick out and it actually hurts to have them press against my mattress when I sleep. I mean, ACTUAL pain. HOWEVER, midsection in the belly button area (and below) it is still very mushy and watery and flabby. So here's to hoping that the bottom of my tummy (the part my cat is loving) catches up to my top tummy! I must say, as a diabetic I'm not too surprised that the tummy is the slowest to go. I guess that is pretty typical, but what size your wear is dependent on that lower measurement so I CANNOT wait for the progress! Since misery loves company, I appreciate you chiming in LOL. Let's slay round 249!7 -

@Leigh_b Thank God Above that she is okay. Clearly she will be inconvenienced with her car out of commission, but at least everyone survived. I will pray for her quick recovery and comfort as she heals from the concussion.6
