    @deepwoodslady - if snacking because of boredom when the TV shows and books are not holding your attention, then maybe you can find a new hobby that requires busy hands and clean fingers. Sewing, crochet, knitting, painting, gardening/weeding, etc. I started watercolor painting as a new hobby! I'm finding it very challenging.

    My trip in April was fantastic! We loved spending time with our son and his wife in France. Such beautiful country. The mustard fields were blooming! Then we went on a cruise to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Spain and France. I'll plan to go back to Spain and France but thing I've seen all that I want to see in the Canary Islands and Morocco LOL
    I now have a 3rd granddaughter!!! The other are just 2 and 2.5 years old. Busy life but they are all at least 40-70 minutes away from our house so no daily duties. That is ... no excuse to not get myself as priority with exercise and eating habits.

    @Lilylady3k I've never learned crochet, knitting etc but I do know that it's helped many with keeping their hands busy. My bingeing happens starting at about midnight when I'm in bed and goes until sleeptime which is usually around 3 a.m. So difficult to deal with in the middle of the night! By then I am in bed but just not tired yet. That's why I've tried interesting shows or books. I also tried making my stomach heavy with lots of water but then when I do fall asleep I'm up all night going pee. I feel lost but I'm just going to have to keep trying, keep working on it, and get things back where they need to be. I've done it so many times before and can do it again, but when, when, when? LOL.

    Your vacation sounds heavenly! I've heard from military personnel that Spain is the most beautiful country in the world. I would love to see that. Oh, and Paris doesn't sound too bad either LOL. Congratulations on the new DGD. May she have much health and happiness throughout her life!

    Thoughts:

    Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.



    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

I truly think it is 100% habit or even boredom. My interesting book and my limited series shows are just not enough. I’m going to put in some research today and deep dive into the matter.

    Day 75-06/23-186.8-(Trend weight 185.3) I ended up out of town yesterday with Foodie daughter and DGS. She wanted to try a new restaurant and it was good, not great. I shopped for more low carb snacks as I have been running out earlier than planned several times lately due to overeating/bingeing at night. I planned on making chili today to use up some thawed hamburger in the fridge before it goes bad. That will also help to clear some canned veggies out of my pantry giving me some much needed room. I will be watching my portions, sending lots home with my daughter and freezing some properly measured portions for another time. No crackers in the chili Donna!!!!!

    Hi Folks! My name's Darin, and I'm a 45 year old woman from Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA. I've done a past 100 days challenge before and did really well with it (then regained the weight) so wanted to rejoin and try again.

    Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
    Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
    Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…
    Day 07-04/16—174.2 Slight uptick but still met my goal weight so there’s that. Tough migraine day – had to take part of the day off from work today for bed rest. UGH.

    Day 08-04/17—175.2 another partial day at work today due to migraine, and I’m retaining water. Blergh. Between the two not feeling great. At least got out and walked, and I meditated today. That’s something.
    Day 09-04/18—175.2 migraine’s eased up and have stabilized with the weight. Now hopefully start to see a downward trend? Meditated again and was very moderate with lunch and breakfast. Will try to maintain for dinner.

    Day 11-04/20—174.7 I’m trying to be kind to myself with having felt so bad this week. I did have a ”woke myself up laughing” moment that I’m sure you’ll appreciate… I dreamt that I had gone into the office and was looking at a menu to pick out lunch. You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
    Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!
    Day 13-04/22—174.4 another rough migraine day today.
    Day 14-04/23—174.7 Just going to have to get myself together for next week.

    Day 15-04/24—176.1 Okay, so I blacked out and when I came to, I had eaten a full meal from Arby’s. in itself it wasn’t too bad calorie-wise, but sodium-wise it was devastating. Going out to play trivia at a local tavern and will get a moderate bowl – but still regretting last night.

    Day 18-04/27—174.1 Tasty dinner tonight – grilled chicken and roasted veggies. Mmm.

    Day 22-05/01—173.8 Last night went out to Texas Roadhouse and had a semi-decadent dinner (ate bread and a full-fat side Caesar salad, but had the grilled chicken as a main). Going to try to be better today.

    Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
    Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!

    Day 28-05/07—172.4 Long day today and frustrating wobbling around this weight. Hopefully next week helps see me shake it off. Have plans to go out for Mexican food for dinner so going to try to rein it in and be controlled – no chips/salsa, moderate main, no alcohol. That’s the plan, let’s see how it goes! I’ll report back in tomorrow. 😊

    Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.
    Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!
    Day 31-05/10—172.7 Damnit. When I wanted to move off the plateau I didn’t mean in this direction.
    Day 32-05/11—172.5 Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll be happy if I come out of this weekend without having gained weight – with two big meals with the two families… it’s a lot of eating!
    Day 33-05/12—172.3 Okay, no weight gain. I’ll take it.
    Day 34-05/13—173.4 There’s the weight gain. Was waiting for that. I did eat quite a bit this weekend. And a lot of sodium for dinner last night. This week is going to be a rough one. Going to have to adjust all my goals…

    Day 37-05/16—171.0 yesterday had a horrible migraine. The nausea was so bad that I got super dehydrated and barely ate anything. So I think this dip is completely artificial. Still feel awful today. Bleh.

    Day 39-05/18—170.7 had a lovely piece of salmon for dinner tonight. Mmm.
    Day 40-05/19—170.7 Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I’ve been doing some work, so lots of computer time (just like during the week). While I’ve been super productive, it’s been a bit on the sedentary side. Josh and I have a vacation coming up – we’re going to Reno. We’re going to spend our days out in nature, hiking, and our nights at the casinos. I’m really looking forward to it. Is it weird to pack a scale to bring on vacation? I mean I’ll have space in my checked luggage. But maybe a few days of “DNW” won’t hurt me either. I’ll have to mull this one over. My goal is to not gain weight during the vacation. I’m under no illusions – I am not going to lose any. But not gaining would be nice, given the drinking and decadent food options there will (presumably) be.
    Day 41-05/20—170.9 okay was a tad irresponsible last night with the pizza dinner but at least kept servings reasonable. So there was that? It’s also my birthday week so there’s going to be more eating out and lots of temptation. Wish me luck! And I'm definitely going to consider taking the scale on vacation. it may help to "keep me honest". :-)

We’re going to be getting some exercise while birding, and if we don’t get enough, we’ll continue our daily walks. Reno’s supposed to have some great parks and a nice riverfront. I’m really looking forward to the change in environment.

    Day 67--06/15—164.5 Happy Saturday, folks! So glad it’s the weekend for some rest and relaxation. We’re walking earlier and earlier these days due to the heat and humidity – it’s pretty darn hot here in North Carolina – but it’s nice to get the exercise out of the way earlier. Feels like we accomplished something! My doctor says I need to incorporate heavier exercise in, and I realized how much of a weakling I was when I tried to lift my 40 pound luggage, so I’m going to try to incorporate weights into the routine. I do have a free membership at a gym and all. Just have not made it in “lately”.
    Day 68—06/16—163.7 Okay so it’s been an eating-based weekend. Had dinner with my parents yesterday, and going to have lunch with Josh’s parents today. I did pretty well at dinner but still ate more than I could have. Going to try to keep it under control for today…

    My goal is to be proud of my weight loss.

    Day 01 80.1 kg, I did my planned exercise but I overate a little bit (I'm tracking my intake), since I started tracking I've eaten out 4 times and I need to compensate for those times. I read "most people who lose weight will regain it within 5 years", I checked my old numbers and I'm 3.5 kg under what I weighed 5 years ago. I guess I'm in that category. I talked to my partner about my weight loss (something I'm trying to do less often).
    Day 02 80.0 kg, I ate below my ideal which should help me recover from previous overeating. I did my exercise sessions.
    Day 03 80.1 kg my eating is on track for the last 3 days but I need to recover from the previous 9 which averaged too high. I exercised and that's on track too. Disappointed that the scale is headed in the wrong direction but...
    Day 04 79.4 kg a big loss today. I did a lot of walking, I had sugary food for the first time in 8 days. I overate. Recently there have been 6 days when I overate a lot, I had sugary food 5 times. Coincidence?
    Day 05 79.8 kg just a normal day where I am good, no overeating and exercising is as required
    Day 06 80.4 kg I started two personal challenges, I had some sugary food because I won't be having sugary food for a while, so on Tuesday I gained...

I overate and did my required amount of exercise. I looked at my intake graph and since day 1 there's been 7 days when I've overeaten.
    Day 15 79.7 kg I ate a bit too much and my exercise was less than required. 10 kg in 100 days: 10.3 kg to lose in 99 days. Can I do it? Probably.

    Day 72—06/20 - 147.4 - Didn't get a chance to post yesterday morning. I left at 10:30 in the morning, came home to change for my job at the bar and got home at 10:30 at night. I have to get things accomplished in the garden in the morning it seems. Technically I was scheduled until 8pm, so could have gotten a few things done before dark, but I welcomed the extra couple of hours. I had hummus and water crackers for dinner, with a few other snacks like nuts. I think that I have to learn to not have actual dinner on those late nights. I will try. I have a 4-12 shift scheduled for Saturday, I am going to take food with me for that shift so that I am not overly hungry at midnight.

    Day 73—06/21 - 146.2 - Wow!! Okay! Ended up having to work until 11 instead of 8pm. Grateful for the extra hours. 2 jobs again today with a bit less sleep than usual. Huge hockey game tonight. I love working in the bar and getting paid to watch and talk about hockey : - )

    Day 74—06/22 - 147.8 - 1.6 pounds gained overnight. Argh. Oh well. I don't get ready for work until 3pm, so getting out to cut the grass and stuff.

    Day 75—06/23 - 147.2 - Posting quite late today, day off and have been out doing things in the yard and garden. Just a few more things and I will pack it in and try to have an early(er) dinner.

    My trip in April was fantastic! We loved spending time with our son and his wife in France. Such beautiful country. The mustard fields were blooming!     I now have a 3rd granddaughter!!! The other are just 2 and 2.5 years old. Busy life but they are all at least 40-70 minutes away from our house so no daily duties. That is ... no excuse to not get myself as priority with exercise and eating habits.

    @Lilylady3k I've never learned crochet, knitting etc but I do know that it's helped many with keeping their hands busy. My bingeing happens starting at about midnight when I'm in bed and goes until sleeptime which is usually around 3 a.m. So difficult to deal with in the middle of the night! By then I am in bed but just not tired yet. That's why I've tried interesting shows or books. I also tried making my stomach heavy with lots of water but then when I do fall asleep I'm up all night going pee. I feel lost but I'm just going to have to keep trying, keep working on it, and get things back where they need to be. I've done it so many times before and can do it again, but when, when, when? LOL.

    Your vacation sounds heavenly! I've heard from military personnel that Spain is the most beautiful country in the world. I would love to see that. Oh, and Paris doesn't sound too bad either LOL. Congratulations on the new DGD. May she have much health and happiness throughout her life!

    Thank you! Okay if it is middle of the night and lacking sleep then with all your other consultants and doctors maybe someone can help you get the 7 hrs of sleep that your body deserves! Maybe try Melatonin or something stronger?

    Thoughts:

    Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.

I planned on making chili today to use up some thawed hamburger in the fridge before it goes bad. That will also help to clear some canned veggies out of my pantry giving me some much needed room. I will be watching my portions, sending lots home with my daughter and freezing some properly measured portions for another time. No crackers in the chili Donna!!!!!

    Day 70: 06/19 174. Yesterday at work my day took a most awesome twist. I’ve been part of an internet wt loss group of women for ?15 years; this year they’re meeting at one of the member’s place in Tx. (I’m the only Cdn). The sun, moon, starts, entire universe and galaxies ( 😉 ) lined up and I’ve been offered to have my flights paid to their retreat, so what could I say but “yes!!”.
    Dashed home to check passport still valid, and within minutes Cindy had booked my flights. OMG, stunned by her act of kindness.

    Day 73—06/21: 175 Called in to cover a shift. Turned into a rough day that just kept on coming; 2 resident falls, hugest groc order ever to put away, visit by health inspector then news of a school bus accident, which involved one of my co-worker’s grandsons. The young fella had to be air evac’d out for surgery but is going to be okay. Many kids have concussions; school district is organizing CT scans for each kid. Just to scarey.

    Knew yesterday was going to be challenging with another birthday party for my granddaughter. This time with little kids at a kid gymnastics place. Approx 15 kids ages 1.5-3 + plus some infants tossed in. I volunteered to be my daughter's photographer and got out there with the kids running around and helping. Took over 130 photos!
    Then when pizza and cake were served ... I PASSED!!! YEAH ME!
    I waited until I got home to have dinner with DH. Split steak w/ DH but then had leftover for the freezer for another day ... soup or quesadilla, 1/2 baked potato and roasted broccoli).
    I Journalled all my food in myfitnesspal for the first time in forever.

    Hi Folks! My name's Darin, and I'm a 45 year old woman from Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA. I've done a past 100 days challenge before and did really well with it (then regained the weight) so wanted to rejoin and try again.
    Starting weight: 176.7
    Day 75—06/23—162.6 had a “snacking” day yesterday which resulted in the gain. Have to try to control myself. I guess that’s what happens when you go grocery shopping while hungry. One another note, going to try picking up watercoloring again. May start with a “paint by numbers” kit to ease into the experience.

    Darin - I picked up watercolor in December and absolutely love it! Here are a couple of people I follow on YouTube that can really get you started and have fun videos for beginners.

    If getting supplies ... paper is really important. I started with mixed media paper which really had me working harder than necessary. Then moved to watercolor paper 140lb and it does okay I had Canson XL Watercolor. BUT 100% cotton 140 lb cold press is the best. There are lots available and it is best to find it on sale. I'm currently working in a spiral Bee Creative art journal that is 100% cotton 140 lb for tutorials, practice, weekly challenges and my new daily smalls calendar. :) Many times I'll put a miniature of my weekly challenge or one of the tutorials I tried. Or I'll just play. Much less intimating than a larger piece of paper or project. :) See below.

    Day 72—06/20 - 147.4 - Didn't get a chance to post yesterday morning. I left at 10:30 in the morning, came home to change for my job at the bar and got home at 10:30 at night. I have to get things accomplished in the garden in the morning it seems. Technically I was scheduled until 8pm, so could have gotten a few things done before dark, but I welcomed the extra couple of hours. I had hummus and water crackers for dinner, with a few other snacks like nuts. I think that I have to learn to not have actual dinner on those late nights. I will try. I have a 4-12 shift scheduled for Saturday, I am going to take food with me for that shift so that I am not overly hungry at midnight.

    Day 73—06/21 - 146.2 - Wow!! Okay! Ended up having to work until 11 instead of 8pm. Grateful for the extra hours. 2 jobs again today with a bit less sleep than usual. Huge hockey game tonight. I love working in the bar and getting paid to watch and talk about hockey : - )

    Day 74—06/22 - 147.8 - 1.6 pounds gained overnight. Argh. Oh well. I don't get ready for work until 3pm, so getting out to cut the grass and stuff.

    Day 75—06/23 - 147.2 - Posting quite late today, day off and have been out doing things in the yard and garden. Just a few more things and I will pack it in and try to have an early(er) dinner.

    Day 76—06/24 - 147.8 - I am not too worried about this one, I learned several years ago that a long day working in the yard/garden in the sun usually does net me a gain of up to 3 pounds. Burned a crapload of calories and eating was on point so maybe that will kick in, in a few days.

    @Lilylady3k I don't like lettuce, tomato or salad but it sounds like it would add a lot of flavor for someone who does! Nice idea for sure! Luckily I did manage to eat the chili without crackers although I did add a few sprinkles of cheddar cheese on top.

    If getting supplies ... paper is really important. I started with mixed media paper which really had me working harder than necessary. Then moved to watercolor paper 140lb and it does okay I had Canson XL Watercolor. BUT 100% cotton 140 lb cold press is the best. There are lots available and it is best to find it on sale. I'm currently working in a spiral Bee Creative art journal that is 100% cotton 140 lb for tutorials, practice, weekly challenges and my new daily smalls calendar. :) Many times I'll put a miniature of my weekly challenge or one of the tutorials I tried. Or I'll just play. Much less intimating than a larger piece of paper or project. :) See below.

    Thoughts:

    Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl up. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I can make, no matter how big or small. I am also grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.



    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

I shopped for more low carb snacks as I have been running out earlier than planned several times lately due to overeating/bingeing at night. I planned on making chili today to use up some thawed hamburger in the fridge before it goes bad. That will also help to clear some canned veggies out of my pantry giving me some much needed room. I will be watching my portions, sending lots home with my daughter and freezing some properly measured portions for another time. No crackers in the chili Donna!!!!!

    Day 04-04/13—174.6 Went to get a mani/pedi today which was lovely. Made a terrific seared salmon for dinner with baked potato and am stopping eating right now! No more eating. That’s it. or drinking. Let’s see how it goes.
    Day 05-04/14—174.3 Succeeded with the no more eating last night. Also succeeded at moderation at an all-you-can eat buffet today (a ton of fresh vegetables and some fruit as well). Thus far the making good decisions is going well. But I think this downward trend is going to stop soon – I’ve lost all the water weight I’m going to lose. So now the work starts for real.
    Day 06-04/15—173.9 Work kicked my butt today. Thankfully Josh and I walked this morning so don’t have to try to exercise right now. Just have to try not to stress-eat the entire fridge and pantry…
    Day 07-04/16—174.2 Slight uptick but still met my goal weight so there’s that. Tough migraine day – had to take part of the day off from work today for bed rest. UGH.

    Day 08-04/17—175.2 another partial day at work today due to migraine, and I’m retaining water. Blergh. Between the two not feeling great. At least got out and walked, and I meditated today. That’s something.
    Day 09-04/18—175.2 migraine’s eased up and have stabilized with the weight. Now hopefully start to see a downward trend? Meditated again and was very moderate with lunch and breakfast. Will try to maintain for dinner.

    Day 11-04/20—174.7 I’m trying to be kind to myself with having felt so bad this week. I did have a ”woke myself up laughing” moment that I’m sure you’ll appreciate… I dreamt that I had gone into the office and was looking at a menu to pick out lunch. You know you’re counting calories IRL when your pick’s a clam chowder bread bowl with a bloomin’ onion topper!
    Day 12-04/21—173.9 went to a cheeseburger party yesterday and did well with moderation (just one burger, limited sides, didn’t go bananas when in front of the potato chips although could have. Then came home and didn’t continue eating because I wasn’t hungry. Victory!
    Day 13-04/22—174.4 another rough migraine day today.

    Day 15-04/24—176.1 Okay, so I blacked out and when I came to, I had eaten a full meal from Arby’s. in itself it wasn’t too bad calorie-wise, but sodium-wise it was devastating. Going out to play trivia at a local tavern and will get a moderate bowl – but still regretting last night.

    Day 22-05/01—173.8 Last night went out to Texas Roadhouse and had a semi-decadent dinner (ate bread and a full-fat side Caesar salad, but had the grilled chicken as a main). Going to try to be better today.

    Day 24-05/03—172.6 So doing a better job of limiting calories at the end of the night. It’s really hard but it’s working thus far. Weekend ahead will be a real test though. Snacking is a problem. A real, real problem. Let’s see… What is my work? my work is not eating when i'm not hungry. Can that be a thing? a double negative? it's really my failing - i eat because things taste good. kind of the WORST reason to eat!
    Day 25-05/04—171.8 At heart I’m a glutton, which is why I’m the size I am. I’ll be sitting around, and all of a sudden, I’ll think – “You know what’d be great right now? Buttered popcorn”. Or in the grocery store, passing the deli section, thinking “I know those wings taste pretty good; maybe grab a few for the drive home.” Even though wings are definitely not on my shopping list. It’s an ongoing struggle. Trying to find healthy things that also taste good – or stopping eating at a reasonable point – is a real challenge!

    Day 28-05/07—172.4 Long day today and frustrating wobbling around this weight. Hopefully next week helps see me shake it off. Have plans to go out for Mexican food for dinner so going to try to rein it in and be controlled – no chips/salsa, moderate main, no alcohol. That’s the plan, let’s see how it goes!     Day 29-05/08—172.4 Okay, mixed success at the Mexican restaurant yesterday. Did do some grazing on chips and salsa but had a fairly responsible main (grilled chicken/chipotle sauce, black beans). It was a ton of sodium, though, which is why I think the scale did what it did.
    Day 30-05/09—172.4 And hit a plateau. Got to try to get off this level but it will be hard with a couple nice meals ahead with my mom and my mother-in-law this weekend. Have to stay focused and not just go bonkers on carbs!
    Day 31-05/10—172.7 Damnit. When I wanted to move off the plateau I didn’t mean in this direction.
    Day 32-05/11—172.5 Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll be happy if I come out of this weekend without having gained weight – with two big meals with the two families… it’s a lot of eating!

    Day 40-05/19—170.7 Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I’ve been doing some work, so lots of computer time (just like during the week). While I’ve been super productive, it’s been a bit on the sedentary side. Josh and I have a vacation coming up – we’re going to Reno. We’re going to spend our days out in nature, hiking, and our nights at the casinos. I’m really looking forward to it. Is it weird to pack a scale to bring on vacation? I mean I’ll have space in my checked luggage. But maybe a few days of “DNW” won’t hurt me either. I’ll have to mull this one over. My goal is to not gain weight during the vacation. I’m under no illusions – I am not going to lose any. But not gaining would be nice, given the drinking and decadent food options there will (presumably) be.
    Day 41-05/20—170.9 okay was a tad irresponsible last night with the pizza dinner but at least kept servings reasonable. So there was that? It’s also my birthday week so there’s going to be more eating out and lots of temptation. Wish me luck! And I'm definitely going to consider taking the scale on vacation. it may help to "keep me honest". :-)

My doctor says I need to incorporate heavier exercise in, and I realized how much of a weakling I was when I tried to lift my 40 pound luggage, so I’m going to try to incorporate weights into the routine.     My goal is to be proud of my weight loss.

    Day 01 80.1 kg, I did my planned exercise but I overate a little bit (I'm tracking my intake), since I started tracking I've eaten out 4 times and I need to compensate for those times. I read "most people who lose weight will regain it within 5 years", I checked my old numbers and I'm 3.5 kg under what I weighed 5 years ago. I guess I'm in that category. I talked to my partner about my weight loss (something I'm trying to do less often).
    Day 02 80.0 kg, I ate below my ideal which should help me recover from previous overeating. I did my exercise sessions.
    Day 03 80.1 kg my eating is on track for the last 3 days but I need to recover from the previous 9 which averaged too high. I exercised and that's on track too. Disappointed that the scale is headed in the wrong direction but...
    Day 04 79.4 kg a big loss today. I did a lot of walking, I had sugary food for the first time in 8 days. I overate. Recently there have been 6 days when I overate a lot, I had sugary food 5 times. Coincidence?
    Day 05 79.8 kg just a normal day where I am good, no overeating and exercising is as required
    Day 06 80.4 kg I started two personal challenges, I had some sugary food because I won't be having sugary food for a while, so on Tuesday I gained...

I overate and did my required amount of exercise. I looked at my intake graph and since day 1 there's been 7 days when I've overeaten.
    Day 15 79.7 kg I ate a bit too much and my exercise was less than required. 10 kg in 100 days: 10.3 kg to lose in 99 days. Can I do it? Probably.
    Day 16 79.6 kg I ate too much but my exercise was alright. I've decided to delay the 10 kg in 100 days idea until my weight loss 'settles down'

    @DarinGettingHawtin2013 - The watercolor calendar is something I just started in June. I'm finding it allows me the freedom to be creative on a daily basis without taking a lot of time or effort. I hope that you get back into watercolor and find inspiration!!
    Here is my daily entry yesterday ... started my strength training class after a long pause due to knee injury in June 2023 ... the class is called Strong & Fit. I'm hoping that my little character gets much smaller this year LOL

    I've been battling my weight all my life and it is now time to make my health a priority.
    I spent 1.5 hrs this morning reviewing all my notes and tracking of my weight. First time I got serious and tackled it was 1989 when I started Weight Watchers before having kids. Then again in 2002-2013 I joined WW again. 2019-2024 I’ve used MyfitnessPal to help me keep on track. I’ve decided to tackle the weight again … Started on 6/22/2024. I’ve gained and lost 20-50 lbs 6 times since I was 40 years old. I’m going to see if I can lose it once again before I turn 65 but this time keep it off going forward .

    Here is my history ... Amazing that I've kept records all these years in a variety of ways. I've tried many avenues to lose weight but always something more important gets prioritized above my own health and desires. Now that I'm in my 60s I need to tackle what I've been avoiding year over year. My bad habit of losing and then regaining the weight. I know what I have to do to lose the weight ... exercise, monitor what I eat, water, etc. This needs to become my norm instead of my exception.

    I lost quite a bit (got to 130), but have been slowly gaining weight over the past 2 years despite my efforts.

    Day 72—06/20 - 147.4 - Didn't get a chance to post yesterday morning. I left at 10:30 in the morning, came home to change for my job at the bar and got home at 10:30 at night. I have to get things accomplished in the garden in the morning it seems. Technically I was scheduled until 8pm, so could have gotten a few things done before dark, but I welcomed the extra couple of hours. I had hummus and water crackers for dinner, with a few other snacks like nuts. I think that I have to learn to not have actual dinner on those late nights. I will try. I have a 4-12 shift scheduled for Saturday, I am going to take food with me for that shift so that I am not overly hungry at midnight.

    Day 73—06/21 - 146.2 - Wow!! Okay! Ended up having to work until 11 instead of 8pm. Grateful for the extra hours. 2 jobs again today with a bit less sleep than usual. Huge hockey game tonight. I love working in the bar and getting paid to watch and talk about hockey : - )

    Day 74—06/22 - 147.8 - 1.6 pounds gained overnight. Argh. Oh well. I don't get ready for work until 3pm, so getting out to cut the grass and stuff.

    Day 75—06/23 - 147.2 - Posting quite late today, day off and have been out doing things in the yard and garden. Just a few more things and I will pack it in and try to have an early(er) dinner.

    Day 76—06/24 - 147.8 - I am not too worried about this one, I learned several years ago that a long day working in the yard/garden in the sun usually does net me a gain of up to 3 pounds. Burned a crapload of calories and eating was on point so maybe that will kick in, in a few days.

    Day 77—06/25 - 147.2 - Kind of surprised at the drop. I absolutely needed to eat a dinner after a super busy night at the bar and a busy day at the restaurant. I ate at 1am and was up at 8am after very little sleep. Tired today, but a day off so I will go and get some groceries and stuff and work on the garden the rest of the day. Tomorrow morning is my consultation with a referral surgeon about my ankle. I took off my day job because I wouldn't be able to get there in time. I am expecting her to tell me to lose weight. I am trying!
