Can I bulk while lowering glucose (A1c)?

As title suggests, I started trying a bulk diet (+200 cal) with ≈45-60min of pretty strenuous weightlifting 6 days a week. I currently have a BMI of 23 and to note, have LADA. I am not yet on insulin which is a win but have noticed my average glucose has, naturally, been on the rise due to eating more food (I keep carbs under 25-30%). Is cutting back carbs sustainable? Is it possible to maintain caloric surplus while keeping glucose low or is that just the trade off?

You might want to ask in this group:

And also, definitely consult your registered dietitian and medical team.
That said, and your mileage may vary…. But…
My husband was a 2nd degree black belt, working on 3rd degree when he became disabled by some strokes.
He would work out pretty hard every day. Tae Kwon Do, not weights, but some of the blood sugar issues are similar.
He always kept his monitor with him, and a few high glycemic snacks too. There were definitely times that was a life saver.
I understand that your issue is a bit different. But my suggestion (I’m also type 2 a diabetic) is to keep a very careful log of absolutely everything you eat, as well as exercise, and your blood glucose levels. I mean test very frequently, and see what foods cause you to have too swift a rise in blood glucose levels, or a long slow rise. As well as what exercises burn that blood sugar down quickly.
Do that for every food, and every exercise, for a few weeks. See what patterns you can spot.0
