It's going to be dry today so I can work in the yard and pull weeds. Yippee.5

We got the RV move and a lot of DH’s ‘stuff’ that was outside. Need to finish today. Not as bad as I expected. DH was reasonable during the whole thing. I was exhausted as 1 worked 2 hours picking up litter on the day side by the beach. Cinqo de Mayo crowd were messy! I helped moved the RV and some of the other things, then brought both dogs to the vet. Wicket for shots and a re-check on her dry eyes. Of course needs meds for the eyes all the time now. Along with Brownie who needed a third heart medicine. No shots for Brownie but they did manage to cut her nails without getting bit! LOL.
Today is to complete the move, I need to get bloodwork done. I will bring home something for dinner along with a few small things from Walmart. Another busy day. I won’t need to do litter for the Ranger, today as we have the move and bloodwork as excuses, but I can do some later, maybe. I get so tired so easily now. I hate it!! I used to be hyper and always busy. Must have worn my body out!
I feel better emotionally. No sugar yesterday and took MCT oil 3 times yesterday. No cravings and felt full all day. So, will be my new ‘thing’. I didn’t write yesterday, but need to copy/paste into a different format so my daughter and others that don’t have an apple product can review the story we finished and the one I am beginning. @Vickie, if you’d like, I can PM you a copy of the story I’ve started for your input. Or, if enough people on here want to read it, I can post here. It is a Sci-Fi mystery with weird creatures. I started it and was having fun with that too. All you fiction writers on here, do you develop your characters first? Or as the story goes on? I have defined the characters I want in the story but if the story calls for it, will include others.
Have a great day everyone.

@Machka, I remember those days! Going for a drive and stopping at a roadside picnic table, or simply a pull off on the side of the road and having lunch. We had a station wagon, so the picture could have been my family! I remember once we were driving to a campground somewhere far, and McD. Had just opened here and there. We kids begged my dad to stop at McD, but he refused saying it was too expensive. Then we stopped at a diner and had hamburgers and fries, the exact same thing we would have gotten at McD but more expensive than the fast food place. I was livid, but accepted my fate. I must have been 10 or 12 years old at the time. AH, memories!!
RVRita going to Wendy’s for a salad today. My choice for fast food!! 🛸6 -

I much prefer to take my own food. You wouldn't see us anywhere near a fast food joint! We might stop for a coffee, and a toilet break, but prefer my own sandwiches by far. Haven't had a burger out in many, many years. Some places on the motorway have an M&S food outlet, where you can buy good snacks and sandwiches. I do eat those.
I had a two hour chat on the phone today with L. She seems to be turning the corner of grief after two and a half years. Getting nearer to decluttering. She has a therapist and does a lot of meditation, including retreats. She is a yoga teacher. Her partner's sudden death hit her hard, but she is loving life again and going on long walks after her hip replacements.
I am at my son's house, waiting for everyone to arrive. He is on a work Zoom. Then cake!!!

Heather - I understand what you mean about the conversation, it makes it hard when you can’t be your authentic self and not being able to talk about the grandchildren would be difficult since they are such a huge part of your lives.
I hadn’t heard the story of how you and John met either. How wonderful!
Machka - a radio station here had a question posted yesterday about what a junk drawer must have in it to be a true junk drawer, I noticed on the answer no one said pens that no longer work. 😂
I personally have a very organized junk drawer. The drawers here aren’t very deep and I have very few of them so I have to keep on top of it.
Annie - I can’t imagine that grieving a spouse when being married that long is easy. They say you never really stop grieving those you’ve loved and lost, it just changes over time. I still find myself in tears sometimes thinking about my Dad, he passed in 2012.
You are handling not allowing yourself to become depressed quite well.
Michele - there is probably a lot going on to try to keep costs down at BK. Grocery prices have gone through the roof they don’t want to have a lot of spoilage to throw out. It’s hard managing what needs to be brought in when you don’t know what your customer base may be from day to day.
I wouldn’t come up with an excuse not to go in, I would just say no.
Rita - glad to read the move went well.
It is raining here today, started yesterday afternoon. DH was sent home last night and probably will be tonight too. It’s hard to know what a pay will be when they get cancelled. I wish he would have stayed at the park he didn’t lose hours there.
One of the teachers told me yesterday that she sees a huge difference in one of the girls I’m helping. She passed a test last week and that seems to have given her confidence that she can do it. I mostly just keep her on task, she is a sweet girl.
Only 8 more school days at this school. I’ll miss the people and most of the students. The one teacher that has decided she’s done at the end of the year is still the most difficult. Even the students call her out for not teaching or handling them.

Starting over, again! Trying to get as healthy as possible while dealing with several autoimmune diseases. I've lost 15 lbs since January and have 40 lbs more to go!
We are currently spending the month at North Myrtle Beach. So much eating out! May will be a challenging month.

Tracey--Beautiful cards. The one for the loss of the pet is really nice. How thoughtful of you.
Rita--I would love to read your story anyway you want. Glad you got moved.
Not much happening here. One day at a time.

RebeccaAre they addressing the mold on the dry wall? This is the time to do it before the new cabinets are put in. I know you'll be glad when it is done!1

Lovely time at my son's house. Edie was being a horrible older sister to Bea. She can be wicked.
Max entered a Maths competition for his school and was top of his year and reached gold level overall for the district.
While my son was driving us home, I recounted the story of Paige . As he went to the wedding in October with me, it was a bit of a surprise. I didn't want to tell him in front of Edie because she would never stop asking questions. It's just her sort of thing! One day when I've got plenty of time....
Did a very easy butternut squash ravioli with peas and a sage and garlic butter. I was in a lot of pain and could barely get around the kitchen. Parmesan got left out, but I was finished.
Not sure why everything is hurting so much. 😕
Quiet day tomorrow. I may make a card for the expected baby. With a rainbow and a Teletubby sun baby.

Somewhat of a rant below:I went to BK today. Evidently, the store manager texted me this morning (I’m not in the habit of checking my texts at 6:00 in the morning) asking if I wanted to come in since they didn’t have any lettuce, no tomatoes, no cheese and only a few onions. I told her I’d do what I could. She asked if I could come back after they got their truck. I told her I had a dentist appt at 12 and couldn’t. Not the truth, but I DO NOT want to get where they run down product so much and then depend on me to come in when their truck comes. BUT I was a nice guy and offered to come in tomorrow (I usually don’t work on Wed). Vince was a manager and he said that she probably realized that they didn’t have anything so it would be helpful to have someone who would do it. I don’t know, to me a lot of things around there aren’t logical. And, besides, failure to plan on their part does not constitute an emergency on my part. It looks like they just barely have enough product until the truck comes, but they don’t have any lettuce. Oh well….. And if the truck is late……. Personally, I think they’re d*** lucky to have an employee who is dependable and shows up. I’ve heard how so many people “call out”. You know, “it’s sunny and I’d rather go to the beach” Personally, I’d rather go exercise tomorrowKylia – neat pictures. Thanks for sharing
Heather – congratulations
M – I remember (when I was a kid) leaving my aunt’s house in PA to go home to NJ. She would pack a cooler for us with sandwiches. Good memories
M - I'm glad you understand. Now just imagine two large dogs and a rambunctious child in your small house in addition to your cat, your husband, and yourself

I understand why they live in a smaller place ... but not sure why it seems to bother you.
And I am with Tracey ... why lie? Why not just say "No, that won't work for me. But thank you for the offer. "

Evening ladies
Wow what a day.. to say im beat is an understatement. Lots of driving.. and we are in Eastham ,Massachusetts on the Cape..its lovely.and the weather stunning today but it will go downhill the rest of the week.
My little guy out with his pals at the chicken coop.
Please be thinking of Tracy tomorrow as she goes through all the bells and whistles at the hospital..I'd appreciate it..im going to hit the hay early..7 -
Rita – I’d love to read your story. You are such a good writer. I think Wendy’s is about the only fast food place that has salads (boo). Glad the move went well
Almost all of the time I take my own food to a fast food place. Vince is embarrassed but I just don’t like most of the food. If I have all the fat in a hamburger and fries, my stomach starts saying “I don’t think so”. Plus, it’s cheaper by far. And healthier. And usually more filling for the long term
Tracey – I’m absolutely sure BK is trying to keep their costs down. I always feel so sorry for the manager since it is hard to predict the future (how much you’ll need). However, I sometimes think she should order at least one more of things (like an extra box of tomatoes) just in case you do get really busy. You can and should rotate stock and if you find you are getting too much, just don’t order as much the next time. But every time to be running out of things! I just thank my lucky stars that it isn’t me
Rebecca – all that mold!
Lee – welcome
Wrapped PJ’s birthday, graduation, and one Christmas gifts. I just like to have everything ready. We put a battery in the remote fart machine. I think (hope) it goes over well. I know that he finds farts hysterical. Guess all 5 year olds do…..lol
Got the umbrellas out by the pool, the clock up, the speakers up, ceramics down and I put some of them out. Ceramics tonight
M – them living in a smaller place doesn’t bother me. I know why. I just feel bad for those large dogs, they don’t have much room. I feel sorry for PJ that he didn’t have any say in the whole thing. I feel sorry for Denise. She’s overwhelmed as it is with PJ and Pete working 10 day shifts, so a lot of this is going to fall on her. But that’s the decision she has made. Then again...it’s not my problem.
Had to get a new umbrella for one of the tables on the deck. Went to Lowe's and they didn't have anything nice. Oh, the very expensive ones were pretty. So we went to WalMart and got one.
Allie – prayers for Tracey.

I’m a bit sore after all the gardening on Monday, so DH has gone to do the weekly grocery shopping on his own. Luckily we have the tick list so it’s not a big chore. He’s already rung me once with a small query. Sometimes modern technology is wonderful.
Allie: Sending lots of positive vibes for Tracy., and you, of course. We never stop worrying about our babies, no matter how old they are.
Lanette: I find that having it written down keeps me on track. I’ve built the habits up over time one per month. I belong to several other groups that helped with that. UAC (Ultimate Accountability Challenge, BHH (Building Healthy Habits). and Just 1 Day. I have a loose 3 week meal schedule, and have a shopping tick list based on that which means there are always healthy choices. It helps that DH is onboard with it. Even on maintenance I track CI/CO, and weigh food portions. It takes so little time, and is well worth the effort.
Finally caught up with reading. It’s sunny outside so will get into the garden for a bit. But be more careful today.

Today’s gratitude: PT progress, Monday’s appointment might release me.
Yesterday’s gratitude: woke up from disturbing dreams to find Joe and the dogs fine. Whew!
Debbie and Lanette thanks for the mini chainsaw recommendations. Think I’ll stop by our local Stihl store (thanks Kylia) and try lifting whatever they have.
Barbie your fireproof safe recommendations are timely. Will pick one in June before our safe deposit box renewal is due.
Margaret you look great, so relaxed and happy!
Belated welcome @Pamelyb and @mcmillonmail Monique in MS enroute to Chicago and @leemckernan143 Lee in Kalamazoo! Con very grats Lee for taking off those 15!
Beth “… procedure is a lot more involved” ain’t it always so? Glad the vertigo is improving, fingers X’d for the appointment.
Heather your “how we met” story, the laughter/ compromise /respect/ care/ consideration of your and Johnny’s relationship but most especially how you both are with Max, Edie and Bea. Edie looks so much more grown up in that pic! It’s happening too fast.
Machka “working with children refresher” ? What can you see form the top of the path up the hill above the stairs to nowhere? the peacock. Saw a newpaper article about this and thought of you: https://tourdefronds.com/
Michele last time I went to the Burger King here, they were out of coffee, orange juice and syrup which they didn’t tell me until I’got my French toast sticks. That will probably be the last time I try there. Sounds like their “just in time” inventory replenishment system is broken.
Rita so glad the move went well and you’re feeling better. ((hugs))
Rebecca you sound so calm, well done. How long will the kitchen take?
Allie prayer said for Tracy’s appointment, her family and you.
Terri it was sunny here today too, but too wind chilly for me to comfortably play with plants. It will be warmer/calmer later this week.
Today did big fat nothing but Jeopardy walking. Line dancing tomorrow then get to stay home for the next two days and play in the yard.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Machka - Both of those are so perfect for this morning... Corey's just left for work, my friends aren't up yet, Egg has gone outside wandering around doing whatever kitties do when we're not looking. I've got coffee, and a few moments peace, and it's blissful.
I did catch up to everyone's posts--many welcomes to those who are new, good thoughts and hugs for those who need them, cheers for everyone doing well. Sorry my brain is a sieve, too much going on in my life that I'm not used to. I live a very quiet, peaceful life most of the time, and having my friends here has been wonderful, but exhausting. Good stress is still stress.
They are taking my car this morning, and plan on a nice drive up through the Ozark Mountains and back, and I have a gloriously peaceful day ahead of me to enjoy doing... well, whatever I want. At least one of the things I want will be a nap. Woke up at 3 a.m., couldn't go back to sleep.
Organ recital:Saw the cardiologist yesterday, and he didn't object too strongly to me putting off the Watchman procedure until I get the Crohn's under control. If you'll remember, the Watchman is the little plug they want to insert in one area of my heart to prevent a clot, and thus a stroke. My objection to doing it now is that that for me, the Crohn's disease is still accompanied by bleeding ulcers in my colon.
Here's the deal: The Watchman installation requires time before and after with me on a blood thinner. They won't install it without a thinner, as the biggest complication of getting the thing inserted is that it can cause a clot to be formed during the procedure. However, if you're on the right meds, that risk goes to almost zero. But because of the ulcers, I told him I want to get the Crohn's in remission for at least a year first. He wasn't too happy, but seemed to understand.
He does want to see me in the meantime, so I've got an appointment with him in November. I'm happy to make sure someone who knows my heart history is keeping tabs on my A-fib while the gastroenterologists are trying to get the Crohn's reined in with Skyrizi. It wasn't an easy decision at all. Nonetheless, it feels like the right one.
Next Skyrizi infusion is May 17, then one in June and then I'll be able to inject it at home once every two or three months.
Still dark now, but my friends are supposed to have lovely weather later this morning for their drive, and back here again before a few wandering thunderstorms pop up this evening. They will pull out Friday morning on their way to stay with a friend in Kansas for the weekend, then family in Wyoming for the following weekend, and home to Montana after that. Our son John and his fiancée are supposed to drive down tomorrow - we told them to skip it on Sunday, it was storming too hard, so hopefully we'll have them here for lunch tomorrow. So still a few busy days ahead. Will enjoy today.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa

Barbara
Child safety and wellbeing. Everyone in my department has to take a refresher each year to keep on top of things.
What can I see from the top of hill? Grass, mostly. And the cenotaph way off in the distance.
This is what the cenotaph area looks like from partway up the bridge to nowhere. The stairs to nowhere are way off to the right on the other side of the trees and across the grass, out of sight.
I'd be tempted to ride the tour de fronds!

- Reviewed 1000 pages (no exaggeration) of recommendations over the past 2 days, and extracted the salient points. 😵💫😵💫 Yes, the arthritis in my right hand is flaring up. Yes, I'm dizzy every time I scroll on my home laptop now. But it's done!
- Walked about 2 km
- Climbed up 25 flights of stairs and down 29 flights
It's been raining today!! Every little bit is needed here right now!
Working from home tomorrow and Friday is my Friday off.

Good morning ladies!
Welcome to the new folks!
Rita glad you got the RV moved!
And Allie thinking of you and Tracy. Hope for the best.
Not much going on here. I'm taking my dad to PT later today. And I hope to get some beneficiaries revised.
Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!
