Rita - sending huge hugs. Being faced with decisions regarding old an old dog's health is one of the toughest. Dogs aren't just dogs, they are family members. I want to see you getting good restful sleep. You'll make the right decision when it's time. Just read about your labs. Sorry the CKD levels have increased again. Hopefully there's an explanation that's easy to remedy. Crossing fingers.
Tracey - what an ordeal for your friend! Wonderful that you were there for her - unconscionable what she was put through with the storage unit people. Glad the elevator guy's charge would be reasonable. Made a long day for everyone, but at least ended up well.
Pip - congrats!
Annie- hope your dad gets over his bug soon and he can get back to the senior center. Don't they still have the rapid Covid test available? Tho when I had Omicron several years ago, the rapid test didn't show a positive until the 2nd day. Admirable that he likes to do Sudoku and crossword puzzles - those can take a lot of brainpower.
Lisa - that raised bed garden looks great! Everyone's garden is so far ahead those around here - it's been so cool and damp that unless veggies are grown in hoop houses, it's hard to get plants going in my microclimate here (unless we're talking weeds) until late June.
Barbie- hope your pumpkins do well. Glad no credit card fraud.
Rambling thoughts on Diet and Diabetes:Yesterday I walked with my neighbor and returned her house key. She met me on the street with a "thank you" bag, which I hoped she wouldn't do. It contained a box of chocolates and some of her homemade jam. I thanked her, told her it wasn't necessary. Finally owned up that I don't eat jam - she has been giving some to me for the past couple years and it is taking up room in my pantry. DH would eat it and I've never been much of a fan. I told her that sugary stuff was off the menu due to my pre-diabetes. She said "well maybe you can eat it later" and said no biggie, give this stuff to someone else and her feelings won't be hurt.
Afterward, it made me think. Her DH is diabetic, takes insulin so he can continue eating sugary foods and starches. What she gave me was generously donated from his stash. She said he often eats a sleeve of crackers before bed and they always eat jam on toast in the morning. She's a great cook - lots of rice and potatoes which used to be staples at my house when DH was alive. My grandmother was also a great cook - again, pies, cookies, potatoes, noodles. My grandfather was on diabetes medication so he could continue to eat these foods. And he craved sugar.
Diabetes can't be cured by diet and activity and weight loss, it only can be put into remission. I'm guessing pre-diabetes falls into that category. Fall off the wagon enough times with bad diet, inactivity, and weight regain, then Metformin or insulin is usually the end result.
I realize that if I had progressed to Type 2 diabetes and I was still cooking for DH or other family members who wanted the sugary and starchy foods, it would just be easier to go on Metformin or insulin so I could continue to eat what a lot of people consider "normal".
On the other hand, if I had T2 and had a spouse who loved to cook and loved to see people eat that delicious food, I can understand going on Metformin out of deference to the cook - and to increase my own food choices of course. Not the ideal way to handle it, but practical and I'm sure doctors see this all the time. Human nature being what it is.
I made an early morning grocery run. First stopped off at the pallet/picnic table manufacturing business and dug through their scrap wood totes to find pieces for firewood. There wasn't a lot, but enough to make it worth my while to swing by. Took about 5 minutes from my schedule which wasn't bad. If my woodstove wasn't so teensy I'd order a cord of maple and/or alder, but length is limited to 12" and the pieces can't be very large. Plus, it generally needs to be further split. That was DH's job and I don't have enough power to swing an axe. Plus, can take a year to dry in our dampish climate. What I got this morning was fir - it will burn just fine. I set the chunks in the greenhouse where they will "kiln dry" this summer. I'll be ready for an extreme cold spell or winter power outage. Have about half a cord of cut branches, mill ends and this scrap so far. Which might be all I need.

Still haven't set up the microwave.
I did get a delivery of a new wallet, in baby blue, to go in my new ivory handbag. My old black one is still serviceable, but rather large. I will polish it and put it away. As I never use cash anymore, I don't need a large wallet. The new one is small and slim.
When John was on his afternoon walk, he passed a driveway where a man was washing his car and a wooden easel was standing in the drive. He asked about it and the man said it was free to take away! As far as we can see, it has never been used. Now all we need is a big canvas to paint!
John cooked the best ratatouille I have ever had. The sausages were a bit overcooked, but still pleasant. I had stewed apricots for dessert. We certainly don't lack for veggies and fruit!
I stood outside on the pavement today. Tomorrow I will go for a very short walk with John. I could see how fabulous all the gardens are looking with all the flowers and roses. Next door has a gorgeous white rosebush. I used to love going for my runs this time of year, because the whole area smells of roses in the early morning sunshine.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -
Heather - so good to see you venturing out already.
Lanette - I do hope all the rabbit holes aren't overwhelming the joy you take in everything else. You're such a joyful person, like with the chickens and friends, and other things in your life, and hope that the info search isn't displacing the rest. Just thinking about you.
I'm feeling mildly disconnected from everything right now myself, or perhaps it's just the muzziness from yet another nap today. I didn't think I'd need one, since I slept over 7 hours last night, but by 3, it was just irresistible. If that's what my body needs, then that's what it needs, I guess.
Did get the backyard mowed, a load of laundry done, including washing the American flag I always have up at the front of the house. I always get all-weather flags, so I don't have to take them in and out every day, but it had gotten a bit gray after the winter.
Corey pretty well took the day off, and has just finished dinner, which is cooling to the point now where it's not hot like lava. Stuffed mushrooms for us both, and a couple hot dogs for him as well. The mushrooms will be plenty for me.
Kim - regarding the chicken cordon bleu loaf the other night, Corey's comment was that it tasted wonderful - "just like the frozen ones from Sam's Club." It did, which didn't do much for my opinion of it, but it did use up almost two pounds of boneless chicken breast which I despaired of ever using other than in enchiladas or something else stewed or fried as tenders. They simply get too dry for me to eat any other way. The recipe called for a very creamy Dijon gravy which was yummy but insanely high-calorie, and I think I'd do more of a pan sauce if I did it again. I've put it in the spoiler:
Please note, it took an hour to get to temp, rather than the 40 minutes they note here. I think there are a lot of ways it could have been made better, and considering that chicken breast is half the price of ground beef these days... I threw a couple of slices of it in with panko this afternoon for a chicken salad, wasn't bad, and Corey has used another sliced mixed with the cream cheese to stuff the mushrooms, as well.

Rita-we have put three pets down, all dogs. The first was 18 years old, blind and stopped eating. It was very sad. He made the downward turn quickly. The second was out English setter. He was 14. He had had a hip pinned after running into a car. They didn't tell us he would end up in pretty severe pain from arthritis as he aged. He also had some tumor all over. He got to the point that we listened to him whimper in pain every night, so we let him go. The third was our German shepherd who was huge (6' snout to tail). At around 12 he began having severe bathroom issues. He began going down to the basement to urinate and poop. His hips were failing him. As the person who cleaned it up and I can tell you the dog was very ill. The dog always looked embarrassed when we discovered the. mess (we think he was trying to hide it). My husband made the decision on him (that was his baby). We have never been the family to take animals to the vet much-we take more of a "farm" approach. Even when you know it is right-it is painful.
Heather-those first outside walks are heavenly! I took my cane with me (I often walked alone and had to think about the fact that I always had to make it back home. Over time, I just naturally started relying on cane less and less-our body lets us know!
Managed to get a couple of things done and a decent walk but came back and slept. I am still not feeling 10% so I am off to bed-if my body wants rest I am not going to fight it much!
Take care all,

Doctor report doesn’t make me feel any better this week. Kidney levels moved me from CKD stage 2 to CKD stage 3B again. I don’t know what is going on there. The doc ordered a full thyroid panel with serum levels? IDK what the serum thing is but could be that. Blood work for that Monday, review a week later.
Yes I need to wash the sheets every day. I only have 2 sets so can’t put that off when the dog has an accident. We have a washer/dryer available at the ‘shop’ for the Park. Only problem with that is that the dryer is vented to the inside of the shop and the washer drain and fill hoses need to be hooked up/ disconnected each time it is used. ALSO there is no air conditioning in the shop and with the over 100 degree weather we’ve been having, well just not an ideal situation, but better than paying for it and driving 15 miles out one way just to wash sheets. We are seriously discussing what to do about Brownie. I’m leaning toward putting her down but don’t know when we will actually do it. It seems wrong when she is great except for the heart (coughing fits) and the incontenence. I just don’t know…..
Gotta go work in the pay booth. Talk later.

Could you just hose the sheets down outside and hang them to dry? With the heat and dryness in your area, they'd be dry in no time.
And what about pee-pads for either humans or pets?

Lisa - how sweet of you to be concerned. No worries. Rabbit holes bring me joy. I was probably one of the few kids that loved to research and write term papers. This was before copy machines were available to destitute students. Spending hours in the college "stacks". These days kids probably have AI write their term papers. I'm not sure how they accomplish this since where I grew up, AI was artificial insemination and still is in my mind.
But hey, it's modern times and I need to get with the program, right?
I will mention that on the 2nd anniversary of DH's death a few weeks ago, I thought about how my life had changed in 2 years, and also wondered how other older widows were coping with the loss of their husbands after a period of time. Where they went from there. Found several with YouTube channels, and some of them mentioned online dating as a way to meet guys and shared their experiences - good and bad.
So I dipped a toe in, barely. Not really. Did get close to the water though. Close enough that photos of eligible older men in my area are popping up in my email.
Still processing all of this, so stay tuned.

Heather - I don’t clean behind my microwave often either. Mine is on a shelf above my stove.
I don’t know if Rodger would do anything but the bare necessities if I were to be laid up. When my hip was bad, Kaitlyn came and organized my kitchen so I could do things myself. I have trouble asking for help though.
Sounds like John had a successful walk, can’t wait to see the art painted on it.
Machka - I love that pale blue.
Annie - I hope your dad feels better soon.
Ginny - have you set an actual date for retirement now?
Lisa - I have a cousin that at 60 years old decided to start driving those trucks in Fort McMurray. She too is about 5’1”.
I slept in this morning and wanted a nap this afternoon too. It was a dreary, wet, cold day here today.
Michele - I always forget that labor codes are stricter here than in other places. Hopefully they get it all sorted, I don’t blame that guy for not wanting to work for an hour though. I wouldn’t do it either.
Barbie - it’s scary when something is suspicious about our finances. I have had that happen before as well.
Lanette - I grew up with wood heat, it was free heat for us because my grandfather owned forestland, I would never have it for our main source of heat though and don’t miss those wood stacking days at all. It sure was good exercise though.
I slept in until 945 this morning, I never do that. I must have needed it from my late night on Thursday.
Rodger actually woke me up at that time. He called in sick today. It was raining and 3C when he would have had to go to work and it was supposed to rain with a high of 8 all day. He drives an open mower and just couldn’t do it.
I organized Kaitlyn’s scrapbook pages and organized pictures for about 4 hours this afternoon. I only managed to get one page done though. I’ll do some more tomorrow.
I have started watching something when I scrap. The last few times I’ve watched Maid on Netflix. It was very well done, it could be triggering for some.
I’m currently watching an episode of Fire Country I had recorded while I chat with all of you.
Michaela has been sick since Thursday afternoon with a fever. I’m not sure what’s going around but Kaitlyn has it too.
She sent her Mother a message tonight when she was supposed to be sleeping.
I literally laughed out loud.
I don’t think she knows the talking to she’ll get about being sassy tomorrow, but tonight us adults are just enjoying it. 😂

Another gorgeous morning. Birds chirping away. Sky the bluest blue.
John is making Moussaka for dinner tonight, one of his signature dishes. It's a Robert Carrier recipe, (for you Canadians ). One of my favourite things. It does 4 good portions, so we will be freezing for another day. Massive amount of work! Which is why I never make it, and leave it to John!
I will shower and wash my hair and put my Parisian face on. Ready for my appearance on the world stage. (Or, a few steps down the road) I seem to be returning to health with alarming speed. The only fly in the ointment is the weight I have put on from months of inactivity. The last couple of months, I have hardly left the house. I am eating sensibly, with no snacks, and no alcohol, but I won't start losing until I start moving. It's an annoyance, but I'm feeling good in myself.
So sorry for all of you who are losing pets. It's the main reason I decided, very early on, never to have a pet again. The loss of my childhood friends affected me so badly, I never wanted to invest that amount of love into a short lived life again. Too painful.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -

It’s quite dull this morning. Such a change from the gorgeous sunshine yesterday.
We are planning to visit elder daughter this afternoon. Younger grandson is home for summer recess and older one usually visits his mum the week we go up there. Granddaughter is back in Oxford.
Tracey: Kids are so funny at times. I laughed out loud too.
Heather: Also, they don’t warn you about the weight gain from having an operation. I put on over 8 lbs when I had my hip done. It’s all the inflammation from the fluid the body retains to cushion/repair the wound area. It comes off quite quickly as your body heals. You will be fine once you start moving about. I agree with you about pets. I only ever had goldfish and budgies as a child, and it was difficult enough to deal with their demise to put me off pet’s ownership.
I’m madly decluttering my dining room table as my groups break up for summer recess. Still some meetings in June then July and August are free for summer pursuits. Hoping the weather allows us a few trip in the boat.
DH has been exploring cruises. It appears that Saga will pick passengers up in NI for cruises leaving from the mainland. It’s a little more expensive than travelling independently, but it is worth the expense. I do miss my cruises.

Wow, Terri! Do you mean that Saga will organise your pick up from NI? By bus, taxi, air? That would be great! Such a load off your mind with organising everything. Worth the extra cost. Plus, if it all goes wrong, they are responsible for setting it right.
Well, they have found Michael Moseley's body on the Greek island. Yes, I did cry when I read it. Although awful, it must be so much better for the wife and four children than not knowing.
Going out for my few steps in a bit.

Morning my chickens... another hour until sunrise here, and woke about an hour ago... feel like I slept really well for that time, though, so 🤷🏻♀️. I'm OK with it.
The plan is to work on the quilt until the sun comes up, and then decide if I want to get some work done outside. It's quite warm out already (75f - 24c), and only going to get warmer, so I don't want to push it too hard. Still thinking about it.
Lanette - Thanks for taking my worry as meant. 💗 And speaking of which, do be careful online (I know you will.) I'm sure there are good ones out there among the skizzy ones, though... Can't remember who said it, but the adage appears to be that the older ones are on the hunt for either a nurse or a purse. That said, marrying a man nine years younger was one of my more inadvertently serendipitous decisions, in the end. The reasons range from the obvious to the less-so. For instance, he's much better prepared for some of the drawbacks of aging for himself, as he's watched me go through so many of them.
Anyway, time to get a few things done.
Have a lovely Sunday, all, whether past, present, or still in your future,
Love from the Arkansas River Valley,

Yeah! My first walk outside! I got as far as the nearest corner and back. Negotiated all the tree roots! Got a glimpse of the sea in the distance.

Good morning ladies!
Dad is feeling much better, thank you. His COVID test was negative, Yay! I was a little miffed as we cancelled walking with my friend, then Dad felt good enough to be out mowing the lawn. I read a book yesterday while watching him, and it was so sedentary that I got up and walked around the kitchen just to move a bit.
Today I will drop him off at church and he will bum a ride back home. It's only a mile. It's a bit of a risk, but I really don't want to attend the service, and it would be tricky to meet up afterwards. So I get an hour to myself. Yay!
And then Tuesday he starts a program at the senior center that's four hours Tuesday and Friday. Yay!
I read another Quinn and Costa novel by Allison Brennan. Loved it! But now I am caught up, and the next one doesn't come out in paperback until October. ☹️ I'm expecting more Laura Griffin tracers series today from Amazon. 😊 Laura Griffin does a healthy side of romance with the thriller action, which results in a wonderful ambiance.
An expensive hobby but I love it. I really should go to the library more, but I love collecting the books. I do reread them. I just reread a Robert Dugoni, but his female lead did something so stupid, that it wasn't satisfying. I love the strong female leads, but not when they make huge dumb mistakes. My next order has two new authors to try, so we shall see how that turns out.
Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

ABC Classic FM has been broadcasting the annual Top 100 as voted by their devoted listeners (like me) over the past 2 days. We all get to vote for 10 pieces of music, and most of mine made the Top 100 ... 3 of mine were in the Top 10 ... and 1 of mine won! I was one of thousands of people voting for it.
So with that as our backdrop, we've been painting! It's the first time in a long time for both of us, so there have been some awkward moments but we're getting there.
The second coat in the bedroom is done and I think the room is done.

A big win for me this morning - while my dad is at church I drove his car around the block twice. It's much bigger and more powerful than mine. But it started - Yay! - and I got it tucked back in the side of the garage - Yay! It was last driven maybe a month ago. There's half a tank of gas in it, getting old.
We ought to sell it. I don't know if my Dad will ever be ready, so I guess I'm just avoiding the conflict. I think we will take it to CarMax, maybe when my sister comes back. That way I will have a ride home. We would have to take my dad along to sign papers. I wonder if my mom is on the title. Hmm.

4 -
Annie It is best to get the title in your name so you can sell it more easily. I got DH 's car in my name before I sold it. It took about 4 weeks to get the title. I am not sure about a title has two names on it and one has passed away if just your dad's signature is enough. To clear title you may need your mom's death certificate to show them. There is a fee to change the title. I don't remember what it was. I think it was less than $50.2

So the babies are gonna be micro preemies im guessing they are hoping she holds out to at least beginning of August, they are worried about baby A ,the VacterL one with all the issues, they will be in the NICU for a few months and surgeries for the small one is my guess.
Allie ... I know that this is not apples to apples... but I want you to know that my first son was born at 24 weeks gestation back before a lot of the new therapies were available for preemies. I was told he would die in 24 hours ... he lived nearly 35 years. He had physical disabilities but he was incredibly intelligent. I was told he would never talk and he spoke 4 different languages. Graduate magna cum laude from a local university. Anyways. The point here is hold on to your HOPE! And you are right. The longer they can keep those babies in the womb, the better!

Heather: Apparently, chauffeured car tho the airport, flight to Dover or wherever, chauffeured car to boat. One of our friends did it last month. So sad about Michael Mosley. He was a favourite of mine too.3
-
Allie - As with Beth, not by any means exactly the same, but the quilt I'm in the progress of making is for one of my favorite nieces - she was due in November and born in August of 1997 at only 25 weeks in the womb. She weighed 1 lb. 13 at birth, lost down to 1 lb. 8 oz in the first few days, then rallied. She's incredibly bright, a true bookworm, and is now 26 years old and engaged to be married. She does have hydrocephalus, but never let it stop her from doing anything except hanging upside down.3

Go for it Terri!!!!
I know they drive people down from Scotland! We've talked to several on the ship. My friends father flew down from Newcastle under their care. He was in his 90s!
We are so lucky that the ports are so very near us.

Tracy is at 23 weeks now .and they are keeping a close eye on her ,and I know she has a boatload of guardian angels keeping an eye out for her and the girls ..and as my dad and there double G used to say gotta have Faith..3 -
Heather - Look at you outside walking. You look great by the way. I thought Terri had sound advice about inflammation after surgery and weight gain from that. Yes, a shame about Michael Mosley. I wonder if they'll be able to determine the cause of death since the body was out there in hot weather for several days.
Annie - glad your dad is doing better today. Good idea to drive his car and keep the battery charged and the oil circulating in the engine.
Lisa - the "Our Time" experience. Yep, nurse or purse - no thanks. After dealing with DH's declining physical and mental health, and his inattention to spending/budget that caused problems in our marriage, I'm not willing to risk it. All I did was put in a fake name, a rarely used email address and age range I'd consider (I put in 60 to 75 just for giggles), no other info. Nothing about me. That's all it took for photos of "just the type of guy I'm looking for" to come streaming in.
I was just curious how this online thing worked - no desire to get involved - don't want to go fishing, go out to dinner, take trips. Nope. Plus, I have T's DH and son and Roger across the street if I need "guy advice" or help with things around here.
I think our Rori has a type of relationship that would work for me if I do ever want a special male friend. Attraction by a happenstance encounter as I recall. Someone she has a lot in common with but he isn't underfoot. Rarely sees him, lol. Phone calls and knowing someone cares. Attention from a special guy. Getting to know him and vice versa. That's the way DH and I courted for years - we started out as pen pals.
Chilly and overcast right now. While a lot of the nation is boiling this week, the 10 day forecast for my area is calling for nights in the 40's, mostly sunny days in the 60's and low 70's.
We're supposed to have some sunshine this afternoon, so hope to start mowing. The old farmer/master gardener in me is intrigued by what's growing in my lawn. At least 5 different types of legumes. Vetch, black medic (kind of like alfalfa), 3 types of clover. Perfect sheep pasture! Some of these are blooming and I really want them to go to seed - though most of them send out runners and crossing fingers will continue to fill in the bare spots in the lawn caused by a couple years of drought. I'll just set the mower deck high to whip off the grass.
Weekly Check-in reminder. Please get info to me today or by tomorrow noon. TIA.
Make it a fabulous day

In an effort to keep my footwear clean and dry, I have been doing all the hours of washing walls and painting barefoot.
I also figured it was good for my feet. It's important to exercise the muscles in the feet too.
The muscles in my feet are a bit sore, much like the rest of me is, but the arthritis isn't bad. It's there a bit. It's always there. But only a dull ache now.

Brownie — DH wants to wait it out. I feel bad for her because when she has an accident in the RV, she looks so embarrassed. She tries really hard to get outside before the ‘spill’. I use doggie pee pads when we leave to go shopping or for more than an hour which works, but I tried them on the bed and it didn’t work. It got mashed into a ball from our sleeping and my tossing and turning. We are trying a plastic table cloth, but she won’t lay on it. Too different for her. The accidents seem to only occur when she’s sleeping and getting more frequent. I had to toss the dog bed yesterday. She sleeps on a piece of carpet remnant now which I can easily spray off. I don’t spray off the sheets because we are the hosts in a state park and hanging clothes is frowned upon due to how it makes the park look bad. So, just cleaning as necessary for now. She’s not in any pain and is eating well so will wait a bit longer.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts about this situation. One day at a time is all I can do right now.
Bloodwork tomorrow for thyroid, so a matter of waiting a week for results on that.

Growing up we didn’t have hot running water in the house, so I washed my hair in cold water in the mornings, then I would go catch the bus. I don’t know how I did that.
Lisa - Kaitlyn is a terrible sleeper has been since birth. She shared a meme a few months ago to start a movement of “All Sleep Matters”, I tried searching for it but couldn’t find it.
It’s good you are able to sleep when you need to.

You’ll have to let me know about the reflective window clings. We will be moving our tv to a wall that the windows will reflect on, I’m hoping that will work to stop the glare but still give me the light I so desperately need.

I also try to get more rest, it’s the only thing that helps me keep going through it.
Rebecca - your driveway looks great. Also, a roast beef dinner is one of my absolute favourite meals one reason being the hot beef sandwiches for leftovers. I may need to make a roast this weekend if I can find one affordable.
I don’t think that’s your living room looks busy, it looks cozy to me.
When I have those cleaning jags, Rodger asks me what he did wrong. I used to do a lot of cleaning when I was working off a mad. I always did it, even when I was young. Kaitlyn and Michaela both tend to do the same. 😂
There is a video of Michaela as just a toddler rearranging a dolls bed of mine. I’ll see if I can find it to send via FB.
Michele - I hope for Vince’s sake the kittens arrive soon.
Also, I hope you get that foot checked soon.
Are there labor laws for minimum shift hours. Here in AB it is 3 hours unless there is a superseding collective union agreement.
Rita - sorry you are having to make the decision about your meds or the dogs, but I know you know I’m your heart which is the only option.
Do you have to pay to do laundry everyday because of the dog too, on top of the work?
Pip - you’re doing great on the cycling.
Kim - it sounds like the dog sitting is a really good fit for you.
A lady I go to ceramics with dog/house sits as a side business.
I had ceramics last night, just after got home and was sitting down starting my catch-up with you ladies when my friend that sold her house and moved into a camper this winter called me crying so hard I was having trouble understanding her.
It’s a bit of a tale so I’ll put it in a spoiler.Turns out that as she was at her storage unit she had dropped her keys down the elevator shaft. She called the after hour emergency line of the facility and was told that it wasn’t an emergency. So her truck and camper keys were unreachable, her truck was locked and blocking their entrance.
She called me at 930 pm. I drove into the city with a huge candy cane made out of pvc pipe and a ladder so we could reach in through her open sunroof to get her purse out. We got the purse which at least had her spare camper key in it. The plan was to drive to her camper and get her spare truck key and come back and deal with the lost keys today. When I got there she was on the phone with the after hours emergency number and they for over an hour had been telling her that they couldn’t do anything, and she would have to leave or be charged and alternately telling her she would just have to wait for morning. She finally yelled at them and told them to call the elevator repair people, she had called the emergency line for them and was told they would respond, but she couldn’t order it as she wasn’t the client. We then waited for the facility to call back again and they told her she would have to pay probably a $1000 after hours callout fee for the elevator company. She agreed because she didn’t think she had another choice. So we waited again for them to call back. They did and told her that they would be there anywhere from an hour up to 8am. Then they told her she would have to stay there overnight. Previously they had told her she would be charged for trying to stay there overnight. Never-mind there was no water, washroom, place to sit let alone sleep and she hadn’t had supper. They also had told her that the gates were locked tight at 11 pm and no one could get in even if they entered the code, so they weren’t even sure if she stayed if the elevator guy could get in.
She agreed with them to spend the night there. At this time it was 1055.
When she got off the phone I told her I was not leaving her there to spend the night. I convinced her to call them back and cancel the callout, I thought they were just going to charge her and the guy wouldn’t show up until morning anyway.
Her truck was locked except for the sunroof, but the gate was locked and surveillance cameras everywhere and it’s not noticeable that she even has one because she has a roof rack. I took her to her camper we got her dog, the spare truck key and I brought her home with me. She dropped me at work and took my truck to get it all sorted then picked me up from work and we went back to get my truck. The elevator guy showed up this morning and had the keys within 20 minutes, he told her it should be a very cheap callout charge.
The customer service was terrible and the woman on the phone was completely rude, laughing at her one minute and then blaming her for her having to work late. It was awful.
We got back to my place at 110 am, at least we had her dog taken care of and she was able to eat.
Well after that saga today was a long day. After work my friend and I drove into the city to get my truck so my usual 3pm end of day was actually 6. I’m going to head to bed soon.
Just for something for background noise on I have the Daytime Emmy Awards on. Dick Van *kitten* just won at Emmy for a guest role on Young and the Restless. He is 98.

I appreciate your compliments on my livingroom😁👍🏼. I don't clean as often as I probably should but with a rental ugly brown carpet, its hard to see. My husbands open roast beef sandwiches are made with roast beef from b the deli, so nothing I really have to do. Now a roast sounds yummy to me as well! I like it with small potatoes, some onions, and carrots. I brown the roast with a lot of spices and then make a nice beef stock with Better Than Bouillon beef paste. All that with a slice of hearty bread and I'm a happy camper!
I think my husband felt guilty because I cleaned, so yesterday he attacked the front yard. He raked the pinecones, then used the weed wacker. It looks really nice!🤗💖
Oh man what a total fiasco with your friend!! I'm glad it all worked out in the end though! You are a good and loyal friend. Totally get a large gold star for that.😁👍🏼💖
