Just a quick pop in. No time for individual comments. I will catch up on reading posts in the morning.
The Red Arrows fly past of Belfast Lough was spectacular. They did a 30 minute aerial display, and flew over the boat several times.
Had family Skype after lunch today.

Did Balance Ball Lower Body DVD today then walked to Food Lion to get Vince bananas.
Debbie – no, the pegboard doesn’t have holes. That looks like one of the scratching posts we have only ours doesn’t have the mouse hanging from it. One set (Barney and Fred) are probably about 1-1/2 months old and the other set (Chewy and Yoda) are a few weeks older. I swear, when they play, you would think you were at a World Wrestling Federation match! But I know that they are just learning. How in the world do you get your kittens to sit/lay for a few seconds so you can take their pic? Ours are CONSTANTLY on the move….lol
Michele NC
The picture was taken after their bath- all just snuggled up together. The other was late in the evening, past their bed time. I was sitting in the recliner and they all joined me.
They play hard for a long time then just find a spot and nap.
I have reduced down the size of the playpen and moved it against the wall so it isn't taking up the whole living room space. They need more room to play and seem to only be in the playpen at night or when I am not home.

You have gained so much useable space by eliminating all the hallway also! I am a fan of layouts with as little hallway as possible.

Me too!
Our former place has all kinds of hallway which I find annoying. Our new place has hardly any hallway. 😀
The plan looks great, Lisa!3 -

Thank you both! Funnily enough, that was exactly my objection to our prior plans, he wanted to keep that hallway, and I did not - but as soon as I mentioned possibly boxing it in as a closet, he jumped on it, so he's happy with it, because one less wall to tear out, and me, because hallway is gone. 😅 Whew! Great minds think alike... 😜😁5 -

Lisa - Rent a grandma! Who knew! I like the idea of a couple in my home, but Rodger does not. It would have to be a me travel situation.
Glad those towels are working for you. Sorry about the sting.
I love your new floor plan!
Ginny - I haven’t slept well for years now. I sure don’t understand how things that our body needs is so elusive.
Kelly - terrifying! I hope there is nothing serious and the little boy gets a clean bill of health.
My cousin had a scare like that, her 2 year old granddaughter passed out at their house. The next day she had posted that her and her husband had signed up for child first aid and CPR, a couple of days later her granddaughter was being rushed to a children’s hospital six hours away by air ambulance. She had a long tough battle with cancer in her brain, but just celebrated 7 years cancer free and is a beautiful 10 year old with no lingering effects.
Lanette - they would probably do it too! $10 US is $13.70 CAD
I hope your back is feeling better soon.
I need to get out for a walk tomorrow. I have been averaging about 3K a day in steps and I want to keep it up. I want to build up to my 10K a day.
Barbie - I meant to wish Joe well with his chemotherapy and that it is a smooth treatment option for both of you.
I had a fun day with Michaela, she made freezie sleeves for herself and her friends and then we delivered to two of them, they are sisters. She designed them herself.I came home, talked to my MIL while I made supper and then as if someone read my mind I received a text asking if I would keep Miss Aspen tomorrow night while Mom & Dad hope to see the Oiler’s win the cup at a watch party downtown. I’m keeping her for a sleepover.
I need to baby proof a bit tomorrow before she arrives. Maybe nap as well because she is not the best sleeper.
I’m hoping for a nice day so we can go to the splash park.
I’m off to bed.

Tracey - Great project with 'Micki'!
I'm sure you will be in great demand. I would be daunted by setting up a business, but, as a book keeper, you are much better placed for that than I would be. Around here, a wealthy area, those kind of situations are well paid. Overnight would be very popular. It could be a great holiday time addition to a paid position in a school.
I think setting a high enough fee and not doing 'favours' might be tricky. Drafting out some kind of leaflet and creating a website or Facebook page would be a start.
You have such terrific skills. Children's craft classes round here pay well. The girls often go to 'Art K' around the corner in the holidays. How it would work in a less affluent area, I'm not sure. But parents are desperate to have some free time and leave their kids with a life-enhancing person. When my kids were young , I occasionally left them overnight with my cleaner, Shirley. They got on well with her and she was lovely. Very lucky to have her.
Lots of food for thought.
Going to test again before I meet up with the girls. It's going to be hot today and I'm not sure we can find shade, so I will be covered up and wearing my huge Chinese folding hat. I want to see them, but I'm not feeling enthusiastic about going out. I'm out of practice, having been locked away for months. I'm nervous.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
KJ what a scare! So glad you knew what to do.
Ginny I tried to give my dad a banana to eat in the car but he didn't take it. He was fine.
Margaret lovely flowers! Are those lilacs?
Lisa an excellent plan! And sorry you got stung
I ran out of books to read, but I ordered more. I really ought to get my *kitten* to the library and save some money.
Dad was restless yesterday. Hope he settles down some. He asked me when things were going back to normal. I'm not sure what normal is. I haven't been walking with him lately because of my cold. Plus the heat. He keeps asking me what he is supposed to be doing. My mother always used to say if you are bored, vacuum.
We did try to get an auto insurance card from the website. No luck. Another paperwork chore for the list.
Have a great day! And may you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Morning, all,
Tracey - Love the freezie sleeves with Michaela. Bet her friends just love her gifts! If Roger doesn't like having kids there - maybe convince folks to host you in their homes with their child's friends over for a crafternoon? Just a thought. If you haven't already got one, you might want to get a Venmo or something similar for people to pay you. And trusted overnight babysitting is probably one of the hardest things to find, with someone coming to their home to stay with the kidlings. Soooo much possibility in all of that. Make sure Aspen's mama writes out a review for you, and start there! Business cards with your certificate listed are so easy to create, especially for your creative mind, and she could hand them to all her friends... *sigh* I'm flashing back to the five different businesses I've begun over the years. Kinda miss that energy and enthusiasm. At this point, a business idea would have to sneak up on me and mug me for me to be interested in starting another one of my own...
Anyway... once my gut makes a move (bad pun! sorry!) toward calming down for the morning, I'll head into town to get my lab tests done. Even though they're slated at 1 p.m., I can go in any time. I'm trying to balance when to take my daily diuretic with when I want to go in, as it's a half-hour drive. I just really hate getting there and being in pain before they're ready for me to provide a urine sample. My body is, as usual, in charge, and I'm just trying to work around its demands.
Then it's a quick run by Goodwill to drop off a couple things boxes of donated stuff, and Sam's Club for one final shop for bulk coffee and the very few other things we only get there. Goodwill is literally around the block for them, so that works out nicely. Early open hours for Plus members are at 8 a.m.
My membership with them is over in a few weeks, and I'm not going to re-up once this shop is done. It's a hundred bucks for membership for a year, and we just don't save enough to make it worth it. I had one big order shipped a few months back, because with Plus, shipping's free for dry goods like paper and dish soap. However, Every. Single. Thing. Came in a separate box! I felt like I'd murdered a tree just for that shipment. Ridiculous.
And... by noon, I'll be home, exhausted, and probably nap, if recent experience is any judge. First, though, time to get my meds set up for the week - I got laundry and dishes done last night, as I knew I'd be out and about today...
Oh - and I hit a milestone I didn't want to hit today, I exceeded 160 pounds this morning for the second time. At one level, I know it means my body is using the nutrition I'm putting in it for the first time in years. At another level, it's 160 pounds! And it makes me want to cry. 😿
Later, y'all,
Happy Monday,
Love,

Can you use Libby for your books? I read some from there.
The other place I get my books is from used bookstores and I rarely pay more than $3 for each book. In fact, much of the time, the books are about $1.
Your father may be remembering a time gone by ... maybe his childhood, or maybe the early years with your mother. You could ask him what things were like when he was younger, you might get a sense of when he is. In the early days after my husband's accident, he talked about things around us as though he'd never seen them before ... like "when did they pave the paths here?", "when did they build the police station there?", "when did the whatever store sell up and become this new store?" I didn't know the answers to those questions because whenever these things happened was before my time here. So I asked around and figured out that he was living in a world about 25 years ago. In his case, he gradually made his way into this world. In your case, you may find your father lives more and more in his childhood or early adulthood.
So you could suggest he cleans his room and see what happens. Or maybe suggest he study his physics. Does he still have some physics texts?

Had a lovely time with my old school friends. I got there early and bagged a great table under the awning, just outside. They even turned the music down for us. My friends arrived promptly. We had a hilarious Italian waiter who entertained us hugely. So, a great success! 👍
I didn't feel like going but I'm mighty glad I went.
Back home now and time for a nap. The cleaner is just finishing my bedroom.

RVRita in Roswell6 -
Dinner yesterday was short ribs cooked with cabbage, a couple home grown potatoes and radishes! The plate is the “MyPlate” I ordered from Amazon. A little more food than they suggest but mostly veggies and bones! Starch was a biscuit with cheese in the middle.
Supper, I wasn’t so good. I had ice cream, and DH made strawberry shortcake using stevia for sweetener and leftover biscuits.
Snack in the morning was 1/2 a large apple and macadamia nuts. Breakfast was Sugar Free Maple Brown Sugar oatmeal with almond milk, strawberries and banana. This morning breakfast was the same but no strawberries.

Where is everyone? Did this app just die, with the loss of the newsfeed?
A lot of people departed MFP with the newsfeed. That gave people community and support and MFP took it away, so there was a mass exodus. I actually only come to MFP now for this thread. I log elsewhere.

Deb – we had one cat who when he went to the vet and they took his blood pressure….he fell asleep!
Tracey – that’s wonderful about your cousin’s granddaughter! God is good, that’s for sure
Right now I'm really really sad, been crying. I got this email from my girlfriend in Switzerland (the one who has cancer)
Today I am going back to the sanitarium until the end. Two weeks ago I had an infection and it was very hard to come back from. It has become torture for me and Beat. There will be no suicide but we will do whatever we can to hasten the end. Beat will let you know when that happens.
You are one of the most beloved people in my life. Thanks for all the years of friendship. Don't grieve too much. I'll see you soon.
Michele NC14 -
Oh Michele-That is so sad, but she sounds at peace with her choice. Hugs to you.
Kelly-That is scary. Glad it worked out ok.
I have milked the COVID long enough. Things are more or less back to normal. Though we did have a conversation about him keeping up doing some of the things he slacks on.
As for health, I found a new workout program and did the first one the other day-legs. I haven’t been able to walk normally for 3 days now. I like it. Today, I’ll try the upper body one. Probably won’t be able to type for a few days, though upper workouts don’t hurt as much, usually.
Hope you all have a great week.
Tina in CA7 -
Michele - I'm so terribly sorry. Expecting something to happen doesn't make it any less devastating, unfortunately. Hang in there.
Heather - Your last test must have shown negative; so pleased you got to have a little time with your friends!
I'm home, I'm wiped out, and so's my wallet. Didn't go completely round the bend, but stocked up on things I prefer from there, and a few things I needed, like printer cartridges, that are expensive no matter where you buy them. I've ruined two printers using off-brand cartridges, so I just go ahead and bite the bullet now. I probably only use one a year, but when you need it and don't have it, it's a pain in the poohocky.
Also picked up some ghee - it's supposed to give the taste of cooking in butter, but with a higher smoke point and quite a bit healthier. Worth trying.
Should have lab tests late tomorrow or early Wednesday. At least it's done, and for once, my body didn't give me any problems when it was time. I've had a couple rounds with shy bladder, and it's utterly frustrating. This morning was very smooth, they had me in within five minutes, and I was out again. Then Sam's, Goodwill, and the beer store to get Corey stocked up again, and home by 10 a.m. Time for a nap...
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa

Today’s gratitude: our neighbor the water guy came yesterday. He and Joe were able to unfasten and raise the pump from the cistern. He’ll put some of the muck under the microscope and probe the cistern to determine the source, then pump out the cistern, shock it with bleach, install a new pump. All in all we could be without running water for the rest of the week.Only through pg 30. KJ right there with ya on not being MIA from the group for more than a couple of days. I am in awe of your attitude toward the toddlers, and your DH’s baby whispering. 8 under 2 yrs and 4 more toddlers? Aieee! I’d be with Lisa “laid out flat moaning on the floor, exhausted with my last nerve stomped on” and not surviving. Sounds like that friend finally figured out what child care costs, and how scarce good care is, too late. Imho, a real friend would not be angry that you were at capacity. Her loss not yours.
What happened? When Joe flushed out the gutters and washed away the spider webs the water level in the cistern got too low and the pump pulled in the muck, mud, rotted organic stuff etc. and failed. Joe noticed the water he drew for the dogs’ bowls seemed cloudy. When he checked the recently installed sediment filters, they were black. He changed them out but when he opened the valve from the tank, no water flowed in to the filters.
We have plenty of bottled water for drinking and cooking, and a dozen two-liter bottles of water stashed a few winters ago that will be good for flushing. BUT boiling water for washing dishes and not being able to shower or do all the laundry I’d planned is reminding me to look at those tasks in the future with gratitude.
Lots more but time to get dressed in hopes the water guy will show up soon.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Did my good deed for the day; saved a turtle. Found it on the shoulder of the road as I was riding home. Turned back and saw it was still alive. Put it in my jersey and rode back with one hand and holding it with the other. Rode back about little over 1/2mile back to lost lake and gave it to a guy so he could put it by the water.

Pip--I am very happy for you and Kirby. I am also glad you are still around.
Flea--Beautiful pictures and place to hike.
Kelly--Scary,so glad everyone is oik and he is back at daycare.
Tracey--2 of my DGS that live close always want to know if I have something they can do to earn so money. This next saturday I plan to have them come early and pull weeds and pick up stickes in my rock garden.. Not a real big area so should only take about an hour.
Heather--Glad you went and had a good time.
Michele--So sorry about your friend. May you have peace and comfort with your memories.
My new person started today. Hope she is a quick learner. Have been feeling off lately. Know part of it is dealing with my friends passing and her daughters. This last Saturday DH and I took the bench we ordered to the home for the garden. The girls were there and civil to each other put kept as far a part as possible.

Lisa - Phew! It's over. For a while....
Barbara - What a saga! Good job you were well prepared.
Michele - So sorry.
Yes, I tested negative this morning and John tested negative this evening, so he can do the pickup tomorrow and I can visit by Uber.

Afternoon friends
Took back one of the car seats for the twins as she wont need it.
And got gas in the car and did a load of laundry.
Nothing much other than that.3 -
Pip-love it that you saved a turtle!!
Barbara - bummer about your water but it sounds like you'll be back running A-OK before long. Will you be using paper plates? I've stocked up on them and baby wipes in case I lose power for several days. I understand what you're going through. Our well on the farm was only 12' deep. People tried to dig deeper wells but ended up with salt water. We never ran out -some of our neighbors did from time to time - but we had weeks of "cloudy water" and had an inline filter installed at the kitchen sink.
Heather - so glad you were able to get together with your girlfriends! You looked great by the way, I like your longer hair.
Lisa - that bedroom remodel looks ideal, hope it all goes together for you with minimal hassle. That's pretty nifty software you're using.
Had a tummy ache for some reason last night and didn't sleep well. Got up at 12 and came out with pillows and got comfy in the recliner. After several hours I woke up, felt much better and my back seems to be on the mend. Very grateful.
That's the quick update.
