    wow Val. That is impressive.

Mine has not been great. My food has not been great and last night’s sleep wasn’t great either

Day 3865 I didn’t weigh myself today. Food wasn’t great but I finally got a wonderful sleep. The only thing with a fabulous sleep last night I hope tonight is the same. Almost 3 hrs deep sleep I feel so rested

I typed out a long comment this morning, tried to attach a photo but my iPad froze up & I lost the whole thing!!??!!

I will try again in the morning when I have a little more time - right now I’ve gotta try to beat Hubby to bed since my unofficial niece Catie is visiting & she gets the upstairs bedroom… (if P starts snoring I’ll go out & sleep in my horse trailer)

I had to race home after work to sweep & mop & try to make the upstairs look like a guest room instead of a dog kennel 😳 - but at least it looks like so far lil’ dogs wanna stay downstairs with Mommy - I warned Catie to leave her door unlatched, she might have “guests”

Only my wonky metabolism could turn a weekend of “endurance exercise” into a 2-lb gain!?! I know this is mostly inflammatory, not to mention the Chinese food I had on the way home from the airport…

Life rolls onwards at a brisk pace - I met Christina & Catie “up the road” in Hutchins last night to save Christina a few miles driving back home… Surprisingly enough, I didn’t sleep too badly piling back into the marital bed - I had already vowed that if Peran snored, I was gonna go out & sleep in the horse trailer.

Still getting used to this time change, but I’ll appreciate the extra daylight in the evenings…(Catie’s up so I need to go hustle her up some breakfast)

    Day 3866.

Food is still off. I have company for the week. It’s March Break for the kids. I think you guys might call it spring break. Anyway my son his girlfriend and mother to my son’s stepson and her son are here for the week. So my eating is off. Sleep was good last night although I didn’t think so when I got up because I could hear people moving around at 6:30 am and took a while to get back to sleep. I did have over 2 hrs of deep sleep though.

For some reason, last night sleep isn’t registering which is just as well. I didn’t sleep well at all; every time P muttered & snored, I intended to roll out & go sleep in my horse trailer, but I had little dogs snuggled close, so I kept on adjusting my earplugs & “making do”. Ugh! Also remain bloated & inflamed from last weekend’s exertions; my spine was creaking just from bending over to put clothes in the dryer. Poor Catie was also dead tired - she went to bed shortly after we got home last night!

And yes, let’s just not mention the food - I took Catie out for fast food for lunch & dinner yesterday; going to go to the grocery store today & get some healthier options! My hands are stiff & swollen - this feels like a preview of age 80

Thank the Lord that I A.) released the rest of my bloat & inflammation so I’m back to baseline at 190, partially due in part no doubt to B.) got a fairly decent night’s sleep! P didn’t snore too badly, & the big bed has such a better mattress…

I’m glad things went better last night. My sleep on the other hand sucked big time

    IMG_2862.jpeg

my food wasn’t much better. I will be glad when spring break is over and everyone goes home.

Mission Accomplished: getting Ms Catie safely delivered back into the loving arms of her parents, also got in a nice if somewhat foreshortened ride (it was marshy & we got a late-ish start)

I’m torn as to whether I try to sleep downstairs - guess I can always go upstairs if P snores! So nice to get up without hip pain which I had been blaming on bursitis but is obviously caused by a crappy mattress upstairs…

Whelp, I slept downstairs and did “aight” although I was awake around 2 AM with Peran snoring… after I nudged him a few times, I managed to go back to sleep, then I set my alarm for an extra 30 minutes this morning bcz I certainly needed it!

At least my hands have loosened up - yesterday I adhered to a combination of dirty keto/intermittent fasting: I had a sandwich, some cheese, with bacon & eggs for breakfast…

A few minutes to skim social media, look at the news & see what other tragedies may be unfolding this morning…

I just made a snap decision not to shower - I’ll just splash some water on my face & get dressed in a few minutes. I’m picking Tony up so we can haul in for a day ride at Reynolds Park. I want to support the ride but I’m not gonna pay an exorbitant camping fee (these ladies always seem to be working an angle). My heart sank a couple of nights ago when the ride manager called me - I was afraid something had gone wrong & she needed me to work! fortunately she was just double-checking to be sure I had paid (which I had).

I slept upstairs last night and even though I got less sleep, I think it was better quality because I didn’t have to be awakened by P’s snoring… 29 min of deep sleep ain’t much, but I’ll take what I can get!

    Day 3870,

I tried my DIL pot-chocolate last night. Just one little square to see if I would get spacey or sleepy. I got sleepy, so I went to sleep. It was a great sleep until I got 5 am when a storm rolled through. It was a loud for about 30 minutes. Then I fell back to sleep for a few more hours.

    IMG_2870.jpeg

Food was different than my usual. I ate French fries and toasted chicken BLT for supper.

West Texas sandstorms + smoke from wildfires came blowing through on Friday - I did not envy the riders on that day! It was still brisk & breezy on Saturday, but we had a clear sunny day and a perfect 10-mile ride. Hubby was asking me if I’m going to ride today - while I would love to, I’m gonna try to get a few other errands done, such as taking Tony to get a pair of hiking boots which I think will be more comfortable for him than his cowboy boots for riding.

I had just enough time when I got home yesterday afternoon to go get a hyperbaric treatment, which I have not done in a while. I think it greatly helped with my post-ride stiffness & soreness. My errands aren’t gonna run themselves so I’d better get moving!

“Trail perspective” - do you see the riders off in the distance beyond Tony? They had recently passed us but stopped at the water trough

Awesome. And no I couldn’t see the riders until I tapped the picture and zoomed in. Great day. Nice and sunny. My son his girlfriend and son was here last week as I mentioned before. Did I tell you he came with his puppies. No the girlfriend and son have gone back home because school is back today. My son stayed. He want to sell the puppies. If they done sell we will give them away.

And I hate these new editing functions - it won’t let me do what I like most of the time!!!

Little Tina Fea was laid out so flat & still this morning, I was afraid she had died in her sleep - which wouldn’t be the worst way to go, certainly! Nah, she was just sleeping really hard - wish I could say the same, although I did get an hour of deep sleep - last night Hubby was snoring about 2:30 AM, I almost bailed to go upstairs but managed to jostle him to quiet things down… How odd that I spent exactly 8 hrs in bed??!!??

Ohaston, glad to have you with us. And yes it sucks having no newsfeed but this has been working for Val and I so far.

Val, I have had that a time or two with my dogs. It freaks you out for a little bit. Both my son and I have had a dog pass while sleeping. It’s such a shock if you are not expecting it. Exactly 8 hrs. Wow I don’t think that happens to often.

I had a pretty good sleep. I’m trying something different. I have 1 square of THC chocolate and 2 ml of CBN oil and so far 3 nights of solid sleep. I do seem to wake up at or around 6ish am to pee and then have trouble falling back to sleep. I will be glad when we get the puppies sold and my son moves back to his house.

    IMG_2875.jpeg

Food has been mostly good. Although I haven’t weighed myself in a while. I’ll try to remember to do it tomorrow.

I was (pleasantly) amazed to see 189.6 when I cautiously tiptoed onto the scales this morning… It is remarkable considering the fact one of our pharmaceutical reps took us to lunch yesterday - we went to a little local bar & grill and shared a lot of goodies: cheese sticks, french fries, etc. But I did two short yoga sessions (morning & evening), & was sensible the rest of the day. Had a Lean Cuisine Swedish meatball TV dinner - I need to go to the store & stock up but I was tired last night. Gotta get through a full workday today without Dr M’s help - woe is me!

Fancy salad with my cousin - I’m a little concerned that she hasn’t replied to my last couple of emails; I hope I did nothing to cause offence? “I Yam What I Yam”

That is awesome Val. I got 6 hrs sleep last night. Food was ok. I would really like the puppies gone.

Yep, puppies are a lot of work! I survived yesterday, working without Dr M’s help, but once again I was too tired to go to the store after work. I’ve been cleaning out my freezer - defrosted a package of samosas for dinner last night, so my weight is up 1 lb today.

I fell back into a deep sleep after hubby got up this morning, so I’m having a really hard time getting my motor running. Not to mention it’s turned cold again at 41°!!! Brrrr!

    Day 3875 Weight 223

I remember to get on the scale after my pee this morning. I slept really well. I did get up to pee about 6ish but was able to fall back to sleep.

    IMG_2881.jpeg

Food was sort of OK. I say this because brunch was ice cream. Supper was prime rib. I cooked a small one in honour of my dad’s passing.

The puppies will be gone tomorrow morning. My son decided to change the ad to show the 4 male puppies free and someone texted my son for all of them. So the people who want them are leaving super early in the morning to be here to pick them up before my son leaves for work. That means they’ll be gone before I ever get up. My responsibilities are over once they’re gone.

OMG they’re cute, good thing I don’t live close by! But it does give me a funny feeling that they want all 4 puppies - that’s a handful! I wonder if they think they’re gonna take them to the flea market & sell them?!?

My energy completely crated out this afternoon so I had to take a “Power Nap” - what my son & I used to call a quick 25-30 min recharge. I could easily lie back down, but a longer nap is likely to ruin tonight’s sleep. I got some distressing news when I looked at Facebook & found that one of our neighbors dropped dead at 69 years old. Terry took her dog out, didn’t return & when her daughter-in-law went to check on her, she found her face down dead in the yard! It’s a shock to the system, that’s for sure. So I guess I’m taking it easy on myself…

Fortunately that brief nap didn’t ruin my sleep, although I would’ve appreciated a little more deep sleep…

The skies are clear but it’s chilly this morning at 41° so I am bundled up in the recliner for as long as possible with my little dogs until I have to get moving!

Val, you got over an hour of deep sleep that is great. We woke to colder temperatures too. It’s 34 F but feels like 25 F with the wind. It is very sunny out too.

Yesterday’s food was off. And I had quite a few adult beverages last night. Sleep on the other hand was 8 hrs but deep sleep was under an hour

Zach stood me up for dinner tonight which was just as well because I’m pretty damn tired. I didn’t really feel like driving all the way across town (which I don’t mind doing for Z when it’s a work night for him). Kind of strange in my eyes how Zach has to do all the driving when he wants to see his dad, but I seem to be doing all the driving when I want to see my son…

Then again, it’s getting late, I’m tired & my attitude is sour. Maybe our schedules will align a little better in a few more months’ time. I’m watching a very interesting PBS program about how today’s flight attendants (a.k.a. 1970’s stewardesses) had to battle for equal pay & rights.

Well I tried sending out one more brief email to my cousin - we had seen some cute little birds in a tree when we walked across the Notre Dame campus to the library… While it’s been 40 years since I took ornithology, I was pretty sure they were nuthatches - I looked them up last night & I was right so I just sent her a link to a webpage. No response.

I wish I knew what I had done to give offense, but I’ve gotta quit fretting about it. I’m going to finish my coffee, get dressed, & go pick up Tony so we can get in a little riding in this beautiful spring weather. I’m still feeling a little blah after my neighbor’s memorial service last night - she was 69 & apparently dropped dead of a heart attack.

Wow. You have had an interesting couple of days. I’m sorry your cousin has gone incommunicado. You may never figure it out. If it’s important to you to stay in touch, email her once a week if she doesn’t get in touch with you after let’s say four weeks then tell her you apologize for whatever you did that has pissed her off and you will no longer make an effort. But at least you know you tried. I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

    Day 3878

The puppies are gone and my son is moving out to go back to his house. He has packed most of my DVDs. I’m going back to having the house to myself and slowly packing up.
I slept good last night. Over 2 hrs deep

Whaddaya know, those darling lil’ nuthatches did the trick! My cousin emailed me & of course she’s been busy settling in… Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of “busybodies” when Heida has been a very private person all these years - somebody tried to tell her that she couldn’t wear jeans to dinner?!? (Of course she could - the only hard & fast rule is that the men must remove their ball caps)

She is really praying for her house to sell quickly, so she can move into one of the independent living villas. I was joking with her that when that happens, I’ll fly back to help her stuff her kitty cats into carriers to carry them across the street - airfare seems to be much cheaper when it’s not football season!

And at least I got in a nice ride yesterday; the weather was beautiful!
