I’m so glad your cousin is talking to you again. Busybodies can be very annoying. My rule for dinner is just don’t show up naked.
Food is a little better. 2 square meals but the snacks are what gets me. Sleep has been good this week.0 -
Day 3880.
My new system I’m taking to fall asleep has worked for a week. I take a THC infused chocolate and CBN oil 3 ml and I’m falling asleep at a reasonable hour and sleeping through the night. I have to go today to pick up another chocolate bar.

Well, last night settled the question for me once and for all - while my sleep timeline doesn’t look all that bad, it felt terrible with all those awakenings from 2:18 on being caused by hubby’s snoring! And all I could think of was how I had to get up early to trek across town & meet with the damn lawyers again for mediation in my never-ending car accident lawsuit… of course we got nothing settled so it looks like we’ll be going to trial in June - oh boy, won’t THAT be fun?!?
I came home completely wiped out & had to take a short nap in the recliner with my sweet little dogs. I have to consider I’ve got to keep providing a good life for them! Starting to pack the horse trailer in tiny little increments since I agreed to “work a day/ride a day” this weekend…
I had made a special effort to get my tail into bed earlier to try to be better rested… Let’s not talk about nutrition but at least I’m holding steady between 190-191

Wow. Maybe it’s time to buy a new mattress for the bed in the spare room so you can get a better nights sleep away from snoring.
My sleep wasn’t much better than yours. I was very restless last night according to my Fitbit.

Whelp, just when I was going around last night gathering up my stuff & getting ready to announce to DH that I was sleeping upstairs, I saw that he was wearing the T-shirt I bought him at Notre Dame… What a pleasant surprise that was - all too often, I buy him something & it disappears into his closet, never to be seen again!
So I tried one more time & it wasn’t too bad; I got reasonable sleep & P’s snoring was manageable

That is awesome. I hope all future nights are good sleeps.

I spoke too soon! Had to “abandon ship” (go upstairs) at 2:30 AM because I needed a little bit of uninterrupted sleep.
I carried Tina Fea w/me & the other two little dogs followed me shortly thereafter… Gotta get moving so I can “pack & load” for this weekend - hopefully I’ll be able to work a day/ride a day as planned.

Taking a quick iced-tea break before I start “Loop 2”: going up into town to check on my mom, then going by the grocery store to get a few snacks for this weekend.
I am praying all goes well and I’m able to work a day/ride a day as scheduled. My poor cousin has now sent me 3 emails in as many days - she is stressed out about the gossip mill factory at Holy Cross! She is ready to go back into seclusion in California; she is a very private person. I’m much the same - I enjoy my privacy but I don’t plan on leaving my farm until they drag me out feet first!

Whelp the New World Order didn’t last long - last night I gave up after 15 min & retreated to the upstairs BR…
My new doctor has mentioned a sleep study for me, but Hubby definitely needs one for his strange drowning noises - if it were just ordinary snoring I could adjust my earplugs & probably ignore, but he makes some really alarming drowning/gargling sounds. But just as he’s ignored getting a cardiac workup after his younger brother dropped dead of a heart attack, it’s his life to ignore these problems too.
Tony is dropping out of our horse camping plans this weekend, he says he’s not feeling well. I’m worried about him but also will appreciate having my privacy in my trailer back. Maybe I’ll take a dog - any volunteers??

Wow. I hope you both get a sleep study. I didn’t get much sleep last night but I binged watched a show. So I stayed awake far too late.

Last night’s sleep was good. Over 2 hrs of deep sleep. The up and down of light sleep and awake towards the end was me not wanting to get out of bed.

Well sleep didn’t go well last night. I’m not sure what the problem was but it seems I split my sleep somehow.

I go back for a recheck with my new doctor Thursday - we’ll go over my test results and I’m sure she’ll spank me for my dietary indiscretions. (I’m back from Shanghai 2 lbs heavier thanks to all that good horse camp cooking)
But at least I got to work a day/ride a day! All went well even though we were slopping around in the mud - i’ll post some photos later…
This was Saturday night’s sleep which was fairly decent even though I tossed and turned a bit

Sleep was better for me too last night but I do not feel rested today.

My weight has crept up another lb which no doubt is a combination of peaking inflammation & a celebratory Tex Mex luncheon yesterday… The young vet who’s been back-and-forth with me now for several weeks finally came out and bought Big Bertha (my mobile unit). I’ve dropped the price 4 times already and I was not going to be nickeled & dimed anymore! But it was absolutely stressful & exhausting (to me) for him to show up on a busy Monday as I tried to scrape paperwork together for him, do the final negotiations & get him on the road.
I woke up at 4 AM with my sinuses completely blocked - I’m gonna go steam my head in the shower & take some more ibuprofen for this dull headache…

I’ve fought a dull headache (presumably sinus) all day, so I’m about ready to give up & pack it in for the night…
Another neighbor was injured today as she fell off her horse (don’t know any details), but apparently broke her pelvis & has been transferred to the Big Baylor Hospital up in Dallas. Ugh. Distracting myself with a PBS program about Liza Minnelli right now. My mom dearly loved Judy Garland but disapproved of Liza with all the partying, drinking & drug use, etc…
Here is Rick ferrying Boy Scouts to their posts, opening gates for us last weekend
Shanghai Pierce Ranch is so beautiful down by the Colorado River… A place you can’t get to unless on foot (ha!), horseback, or ATV

Wow. That all looks amazing. As stressful as Monday was you must be pleased not to have to worry about Big Bertha anymore. I hope you were pleased with the final price. We have been having a lot of weird weather here so my sinus have been way out of whack. I take a Claritin for allergies but I sometimes take a Tylenol Sinus when the allergies are really bad.
I haven’t been on a scale for a while but I have been indulging in a lot of sweets lately. Dressing about having to sell my home and not having it sell or not have bag a place to go to once it sells.

Speaking of stress, my cousin is pulling a “Reverse Uno” & deciding to hightail it back to California, since the retirement community at Holy Cross does not seem to suit her in any way, shape, or form. Fortunately no one has made a move on her house so she just told her agent to cancel the listing - she’s re-booking the movers & our return flights so I can go back & help her with the kitty girls! Obviously she will count this as an expensive life lesson learned…
My own expensive life lesson learned will be not to deal with anyone who does such a jolly impression of a used car salesman!?! While I am thrilled to have Bertha sold & hopefully going on to “a good home” with someone who will make good use of her, I got less than half of what I paid for her out of the deal. I suppose dear Ronnie saw this sucker coming? But I’m writing off the loss considering what I would’ve had to pay to rent a space anywhere, and at least with Bertha we had all the cabinetry & fixtures, so I didn’t have to do a build-out in a shopping center lease and abandon that… I have been griping to everyone that this relocation/remodeling project has just about ruined me financially, emotionally, etc. but I’m still standing so I guess I’ll get over it…
My critters, my son, my employees & clients still need me so I’ll go take my sinus meds & get on with this day.

Day 3888 Weight 225
I managed to remember to step on the scale this morning. 225 is 11 lbs higher than I was in October but I have had a lot of stress lately and I eat sugar when that happens. I’m still trying to come to terms with having to sell my house. I’m almost there. When I think about packing I still get a little panic attack but so far they pass quickly.
Last nights sleep wasn’t as good as I thought. I was apparently restless again. Not much deep sleep

So last night was a better sleep. I still feel tired though. I’m just off my game today altogether.

I don’t know why my anxiety was high last night, but I had a horrible time A.) getting to sleep & B.) staying asleep!
No doubt part of it is fretting about my dear Willow - my 10-year-old shepherd mix is deathly ill with liver problems. I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to turn this around or not? If she continues to struggle tomorrow & has shown no improvement in her bloodwork I will probably have to let her go. I also had to go back to my doctor this morning to go over all my recent tests - fundamentally, everything‘s OK - my A1c has actually come down another 0.10 of a percent to 5.8, so I’m almost out of that pre-diabetic range. (3 yrs ago I was hanging at 6.2, kinda alarming)
Now the only test I have left to do is a sleep study - I mentioned it to her PA, but I did not confirm with her so I will probably have to call the office tomorrow to get that referral.
I weighed in at 195 on my doctor’s scales (mid-morning, fully dressed), but still - ugh!!! Made salmon patties to take w/me to horse camp mañana (Friday!) - the weather may be lousy but I already promised that I’d come… I think I’ll take Silas to give him some extra attention.

Wow Val your day was busy. I’m sorry to hear about Willow. I took my Corso mix to the vet last week because he was having an eye issue also shows signs of arthritis in his hind right leg and hip. He is 6.5. More than likely he will last maybe 2 yrs before I have to put him down. Depending on progression.
Weight was 225 this am. It’s higher than October weight before everything went to crap. I woke up yesterday with an ear infection I’m working on. It hurts. Is this what babies feel? It’s no wonder they cry. It’s flipping painful. It’s not so bad today. Once in a while I’ll get a sharp pain right behind my ear. If it gets worse I’ll go to the local hospital and have it checked out.
Sleep was not great last night. I wanted to finish a book.

I was happy to see my weight back down to 191.6 this morning - of course I’d love to get below that 190-lb “threshold” but for now it’s good to be back to baseline.
Willow’s blood count was much worse this morning - no doubt in my mind she had some type of cancer in her liver. I didn’t have the heart to do a post mortem - luckily our pet cemetery guy had stopped by “just because he was passing through” so we got her bundled up & on her way to the crematorium fairly quickly.
I brought Tina Fea along with me to horse camp to see if she can become acclimatized. I probably took her with me too soon the first time! She has eaten well & it’ll be good to have somebody warm to sleep with 💕

I’m so sorry about Willow. It’s very sad when we have to let someone go to a peaceful place.

Yes, I will miss my quiet lil’ girl Willow - she never caused any trouble, she wanted to spend most of her time on the couch or in the recliner… it’ll feel odd when I don’t have to walk up to the recliner & tell her “Mommy wants to sit there!”
But at least Tina Fea seems to have acclimatized herself to camping - she ate all of the chicken out of my enchilada this evening! I should’ve packed more food for her!! It’s unseasonably cold & wet - I offered my couch to my neighbor’s nephew because it’s too damn cold to sleep out in a hammock when it’s gonna be 40° tonight. While it kind of sucks to sacrifice some of my privacy, I can’t in good conscience let him freeze… He’s lucky that Tony opted out this weekend - my trailer is perfectly cozy for one, alright for two people that like each other, but overcrowded for three!

While my 2 nights in horse camp appear remarkably similar - my quality of rest Friday night was considerably better. Last night was freezing cold and I kept on layering up to try to stay warm. Mark thanked me kindly for the use of my couch but we were far from warm & cozy! My propane furnace only gives us short bursts of warmth before it cuts off… I hope it’s nothing more serious than needing to repair/replace the thermostat? “Always something” with these RV’s!
Friday night - it seems falling into a good spell of deep sleep early on makes for a more restful night
Saturday night - this is where I question my FitBit’s accuracy: I think I was “awake” a lot more; I was just holding very very still to try to warm up!!

This weekend I have been consistent in my sleep pattern. Keeping it around six hours each night not very much deep sleep. I don’t know what the issue is.
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Deep sleep all 3 nights has been over 30 minutes.

Well last nights sleep was longer than 6 hrs finally but apparently I got so restless around 2:30 am that it marked me as awake until 3:30. I have no memory of this.
Food was much better yesterday.
My son has moved in to stay with me while his girl Xena is in heat. Don’t need her nocked up again. So if Xena is at the beginning of her heat David will be here 3 weeks.

Ya know we’ve got a cure for that (estrus cycles)?!? 😉 not only to prevent pregnancy, but to protect her from future health issues, he needs to spay Xena…
Anyway, last night’s sleep was awful because I was awake at 4 AM, ruminating about all I need to do to get ready for this weekend. If I didn’t mention it, I got home Sunday afternoon & promptly got my trailer stuck in the mud! Hopefully it will be dried out enough tonight to get myself out; otherwise I will have to arrange for a tow truck to give me a winch out. Yesterday we were so damn busy that I got no lunch whatsoever - I wound up choking down 1/3 of one of my “Keto Brick” bars which was better than nothing, but I’m not a big fan of their taste or texture. Yet my weight was stuck firmly at 191.6 this morning - for some reason my body likes that number?!?

Val. My son is getting Mocha fixed. He is not big on vaccinations for dogs. So Mocha is taking much longer than normal because he has to go through the vaccines first. So June 3rd for Mocha.
I just asked him if he would get Xena fixed he is considering it. He figures he maybe here 2 weeks. Xena seems to dislike the male during her last week of heat. But this takes the onus off his dad. His dad’s health is not the greatest and keeping track of a dog in heat when it’s his male going after her all the time. And He will not get his dog fixed. Which would be easier and cheaper.
My sleep was good but at 4 am I was awaken by my ear infection. I got antibiotics yesterday at the pharmacy. When the pain woke me, I took sinus meds and a painkiller and waited for it work before I could get back to sleep. So my sleep was split again. Yesterday was Davey’s birthday and we ordered pizza and I bought a McCain white cake and then forgot to have cake0
