Cor's on his way home... I'm trying to put my brain back together after a long nap. My mind feels like my starter motor on my old cars when they went out - rrrr, rrrr, rrr click. Turn the key all you want, but nothing starts, and then you kill the battery! 👀😁😳😲. That's what you get when you marry a mechanic - motor metaphors... 😀😂🤣

I'll be OK, a good night's sleep will put me right. Tomorrow starts a week of steroids and two weeks of antibiotics, and then a bunch of blood testing, and we'll see where things stand. Just glad to be home, bra-free, and chilling in my favorite chair.

In theory, I agree with you. I would love not to be on so many medications. But I learned a valuable lesson from a friend of mine who was diagnosed with breast cancer, not originally metastatic, who decided to go natural and let her body heal itself. She tried all kinds of homeopathic remedies, diet changes, and she died within three years. She had a 13 year old. I've never quite forgiven her.

So we have to be discerning and make wise decisions for our situation. I am thankful that the drugs I take are available. I live with the side effects. I don't medicate for those. But they are literally keeping me alive at this point.

Heather- Wow! You are busy! Getting so much done! When is your surgery? I have lazy susans above my fridge for my cleaning products and two double decker ones in my pantry cupboard. One for spices, the other for canned soups (easy for DH to make). I love them. The kids call them merry go rounds!

Well, I had a fun day. We left even earlier than we did yesterday. Came home by 7:11am. Came home then did a 15 mile bike ride on the spin bike. The guys working on the outside accidentally cut a wire on one of the outside plugs so kirby tuned off the power while I was on the bike so starve didn’t save the ride but zwift did. So I started over and did the rest of the 15mile ride I was planning on doing. The plan was then go donate blood, then go to the lazy dog restaurant so kirby can get his free sampler and I can get the free tv dinner. I had a mojito made with coconut water (130 cal). We sat outside (they have fans) because I get too cold with the ac. After I had my drink and we were sitting outside. I told Kirby I was feeling lightheaded and I put my head down on the table and apparently I passed out and when I woke up there were 3 reps from the restaurant and they put OJ in front of me to drink. Later I find that I fainted, Kirby called for help. Before I knew it there were like 4 firemen there. I told them I needed to go to the bathroom (to poop). They then sat me inside and I was sweating buckets. My heart rate was low (it usually it, resting hr is 50 usually) . These guys looked like they should have been on a calendar. I told them I felt like I had to throw up, they helped me to the John and there went the mojito. Then the ambulance came, they said my blood pressure was too low and suggested I go to the hospital, I declined and told them I live real close and I would go home and lay down which is what I ended up doing. I wear an Apple Watch and saw my heart rate range was 41-109. My resting heart rate for today was 45.

I usually weigh myself in the morning, then after I’m done with my workout, but I did it one more time after I took a nap and got up again at around 2ish.

Morning- 136.0
After walk and spin- 134.8
After I came home, after nap- 132.6

Pip- Like you, I can't take naps during the day. If I happen to fall asleep midday, I figure I am getting sick. lol I am also an early to bed/early to rise person. Bed by 9pm, up by 5 am. It works best for me.
Debbie- So sorry to hear about the fires, but glad your mom/mom's place is okay!
Ginny- I think you and Kylia get hotter temps where you are than we do in Michigan. I don't know how you stand it. We don't have underground sprinkling so my yard gets parched during the dog days of summer.
Rori- So glad the colonoscopy went well. I always have nightmares that "I did it wrong" and will have to do it all over again.
Barbara- I had to get a breast MRI before. For the same reason as you "dense tissue". It was not as uncomfortable as the mammogram. A little more time consuming as they want to get a lot of images. Mine turned out to be nothing. Just dense tissue (they figured from muscle relaxing; I used to lift/work out a lot and had stopped that year).

Michelle Richard Simons was 76 when he died. Still too young. Keith Richards looks like death warmed over. He also has a chronic health condition.

Flea I have watched a sister and a husband die from cancer. They both went through conventional treatment. It was their choice. I support whatever a person chooses to do. I just more was spent on what is causing so many to get cancer. It is not just us dogs have a 50% chance by the time they are 10. This does not include the diabetics, heart disease, dementia, Parkinson's patients, and autoimmune conditions.

Pip - what in the world caused you to be suddenly so ill like that? I sure hope it's a one-time thing caused by the heat or something. Michele is right - we need you! And your BOOT!!!

Michele - hope you get the situation with the podiatrist worked out. I think it was Tracey who was wearing the Crocs? Sounds like they are working with a little modification.

I think Rosie's coats will fit Kitty, I pulled one on her and it wasn't too bad. She's going to need something with the cooler nights. I looked for a cat sweater on Amazon and it made my head swim.

I just started to read "The Women". Wow. My DH never talked much about when he was in Vietnam - only funny things and people he knew. I'm now getting a good idea of the dangers he faced and things he must have seen.

The gutter guy Rusty came out today and gave me a quote on putting the leaf-guard gutter screens on the rest of the house. He just installed them on the west side when I had the new gutters put on last year. I said "let's do it" and he'll be here tomorrow morning. He'll also clean all the house gutters before installing the screens. And clean the shop gutters (no screen). And caulk a little gap by the back door between the siding and door frame where the original caulk fell out. And attach a screen for me up under the house eave to keep starlings from going through a hole and building a nest, something that I've tried to block without much luck. I guess I'm getting the "old lady" perks.

These little home repairs - the screen under the eave and the caulk by the door - will just take him a couple minutes.

I am so grateful.

Quite a bit of reading in the night. I ate my bagel at about 1 am.
Feeling a bit nervous, but reading all about your trials and tribulations takes my mind off things. (Pip! That's exactly what would happen to John under those circumstances. Good job you were sitting down!)
I will soon be getting up and having my last antiseptic shower etc. No food, but I must keep drinking water until 9 am.
Oh well, it concentrates the mind! I quite like a holiday from obligations. Surrender. Just me and my body and my thoughts.
John wants to come with me in the Uber and see me to my room. He can carry stuff. Then he will come back later in the afternoon when I am compos mentis.

I will let you all know how I'm doing.

Allie: It is 3am and I am awake. The past 2 nights I slept the entire night and had wonderful, productive days following the sleep. I might venture down stairs to get some Melatonin and do my Calm App to get back to sleep!

I did my 3rd time at a yoga studio. It is expensive but so much fun to be doing yoga with people. They have $5.00 Fridays which I could probably work into my budget!

I have gone back to Get Fit With Rick for a month. He has added new information about nutrition to his program. I printed
out 40 high protein recipes he had. Mostly chicken recipes. I am tired of chicken! I did make shrimp with a frozen stir-fry tonight and a stir fry with tofu yesterday! Rick mixes whey protein in with almond milk and low fat yogurt. I am going to try this. I threw out the peanut butter. I will eat the low fat peanut butter. He recommend intermittent fasting. I think I can do this pretty easily so will give it a go!

I am going to a wedding in MA in September. I had booked an Air BNB which I will keep because the hotel is booked 2 of the 4 nights we will be in that area. But I had to relent and get rooms at the hotel where my mother is staying. My brother isn't coming in until late and with people coming and going I finally bit the bullet and realized I needed to be with my mother, age 93, at the hotel.

I am really so pleased I relaxed this summer and sat on the deck! I don't know what the future holds with care for my mother! I can hardly believe I worked at a cat shelter last summer! It seems unbelievable to me! I have not thought about it much since leaving!
