I didn't do so well this past week but, overall, I'm happy 🙂 Plus, I'm wearing a pair of trousers that I wasn't able to close comfortably earlier in the year. I bought them a couple of years ago and wore them once because the waist was too tight.5 -

10/29-194.2-(Trend Weight: 192.4)- I woke up 3 hours earlier than normal this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I’m going to be super tired later today! Pizza yesterday with my son after early voting. I didn’t expect dinner out but my son really wanted to make voting day “an occasion”. With his autism he is pretty much a creature of habit so because we’ve dined out after voting in the past, he thinks it’s a thing. I don’t eat pizza often anymore like I did in my younger days. I just don’t “crave it” like I used to. But it was good. Wow, what it does to the scale though! I’m going to focus on lots of water today and extra low carb to go with the low calorie plan. I know that there is no way I can get below the actual starting weight for this round of our challenge. It’s been a very rough round for me. But I would like to end lower than I started October and will aim for that over the next two days. See you then!
10/31-190.6-(Trend Weight: 192.3)- Nice big drops after we met two days ago is mainly due to some very low calorie fasting for the past 2 days that kept me 800 calories or under. I am gravitating toward the 180’s slowly and in stealth mode. Perhaps I can sneak up on it and it won’t notice! Down 3 lbs for the month of October but up 2.2 for the entire challenge so I must do better. Hoping to keep up the momentum. Anyway, Have a safe evening my friends and lets try to remember that the candy belongs to our kids, grandkids and random trick-or-treaters. Not you or me. Yes, even the Reese‘s Peanut Butter Cups!

I'm feeling pretty happy. My clothes fit soooooo much better. I have a couple of pants that are still too tight so I'll just keep going for now. As I said previously I'm pretty afraid of going into maintenance. It takes a different mind set. It feels like going into maintenance is setting myself up for failure, if you know what I mean.
Thank you everybody. You've been the difference maker for me. The last time I was 151 lbs was 7 yrs ago.

No loss for Oct but a loss for the challenge so I’m happy. Holidays and cold weather ahead so I’m in the next challenge to keep me accountable. I see lots of weight loss for everyone here. Awesome work!

Without a doubt, I have been hungrier and eating more for awhile. And this is coupled with not logging regularly because I don't like how it slows me down in my food prep and cooking. I also have the recognition that I know that I can (wrongly) justify eating more when I don't see the calorie budget becoming lower throughout the day due to not logging. (Ummm, just log and this problem would go away??)
I am appreciative of this thread and everyone participating in it. Although I could have lost more weight if I more closely followed my calorie budget, I am glad that I lost four pounds. My goal is to lose a bit of weight to help prevent being diagnosed with prediabetes. For the last two years I have been exactly 0.1 away from prediabetes (A1C). Although I eat more than I need, my diet (what I eat) has been very good for years. Diabetes runs in my family and it is something no-one wants.
It also helps that I am going on a beach vacation in January; so I have a double reason for dropping some weight.
I will be joining you all on the next thread; see you there!

My name is Nikki, and I'm 5'3" (on a good day!). I'm based on the south coast in the UK. I'm in my 50s and work full time as a teacher. I'm pretty active - but there's always room for some more. A friend reminded me of MFP - and seeing that my weight is creeping up, I thought I would give it go...again! My aims are to walk at least 10,000 steps a day and to reduce my carbohydrate intake.
My CW (15 Aug) is 148
My GW is 133
My UGW is 126 - although that is very optimistic!
I weigh in on Thursdays.
08 Aug - 150
15 Aug - 148 (-2lb)
22 Aug - 145.4 - it has been a good week! (-2.6lb)
I have been mindful of how many starchy carbohydrates I eat and trying to eat less - this seems to be working well. I have been tracking my meals and exercising more - using every excuse to walk a few more steps. Does anyone have any recommendations on upping the amount of protein?
29 Aug - 147 - not such a good week! (+1.6lb)
I have been tracking, but it looks like I need to keep an eye on what I am eating at lunch times - if I eat more at lunch then have a big dinner, it doesn't work well on the scales. Unfortunately, we had some gorgeous bread and cheese for lunch - and I ended up eating lots! I did lots of walking, and body combat classes, but this isn't enough! I'm now back at work, so hopefully being busy will help to keep me focused.
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR AUGUST: 3lb
05 Sept -145.6 (-1.4lb)
I have been tracking which is easier now that I am back at work and I'm so busy that I can't hear the call of chocolate or the chance to rummage in food cupboards! I've been eating fewer starchy carbs at lunch which seems to work well. It would be nice to get into the 130s!!!
12 Sept - 144.6 (-1.0lb)
I've carried on tracking and I have been as honest as I can - which makes a change! I've also not eating starchy carbs at lunch time, which works when looking at the bathroom scales. Still a long way to go though! I did eat out tonight and had some lovely garlic bread - so the scales may not be so kind tomorrow!!
19 Sept - 144.2 (-0.4lb)
Not much of a change, but I won't complain! I'm starting to get tired as term as the days are getting shorter and the children are starting to get fretful at school, and I'm noticing that I am looking for any excuse to have some cheeky starchy carbs at lunchtime. But, noticing this means I can try to do something about it. Why is it sooooo hard to lose weight, whilst it is even easier to put it on?!
26 Sept - 144.0 (-0.2) (although I was 143.2 on Wednesday!! )
It is very tempting to eat starchy carbs and these seem to be my downfall! I've been to body combat twice this week and I swam 1 mile on Sunday. It seems that checking my food choices are the way forward!
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR SEPTEMBER: 1.6lb - Not as good as August, so I need to get my head back into eating within my goals
03 Oct - 145.2lb (+1.2lb) What happened there?!?!?
Thanks @RubyRed427 for the incentive to set some goals....my husband and I filled in a health questionnaire this week and went for an appointment to get some health related measurements done. It was good to get an update. My cholesterol wasn't too bad, but my total cholesterol was slightly over. My waist measurement was also close to the recommended limit. So targets for the rest of the month are: to get to bed earlier (I know that if I haven't had a good nights sleep - I go for higher carbohydrate meals, which isn't great for me; we are also going to drink some beetroot juice which is known to lower cholesterol levels and; to look at incorporating more oily fish in our diet. Small changes, but hopefully they'll work overall.
10 Oct -144.2lb (-1.0lb) A little better, but still a way to go. I have done a little better with getting to bed earlier, but I still need to work on my carbohydrate ratios. I haven't gotten around to drinking beetroot juice - so that is something to work on this week. We have had 3 portions of oily fish which has been good. Beetroot juice and less carbs are my focus for next week.
17 Oct -144.5lb (+0.3lb) An OK week, but I'm losing motivation. Hopefully, the 11 day deadline will give me some incentive to kick my butt into gear. I've had more oily fish and I have gone to bed earlier- which is good. I now need to work on fewer carbs at lunch time and get around to drinking some beetroot juice.
24 Oct - 143.6lb (-0.9lb) A better week - although I realise it isn't that big of a loss - but it is better than being +0.9lb up! I've had more oily fish and we're going to bed earlier. I'm not there with beetroot juice yet, and I have to work hard not to succumb to carbs at lunch time. I'm off work next week, so hopefully this will be a good "re-set" for the final push next week! I'm planning to do some more walking and taking some time out to relax.
31 Oct - 144.8lb (+1.2lb) Grrrrrr!! What happened there?! I've had a lovely week off - and I didn't track my meals, so the slight weight gain shows I need to be more aware of what I am eating!! However, I'm not expecting to lose weight quickly, a gradual loss would be good, I just need to sustain it!
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR OCTOBER: 0.4lb - OK, time to get back to it and go for a loss next week!!
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR THIS CHALLENGE: 5.2lb - which is not too bad and it is good to see that even though my weight isn't changing much each week, it has gone down over 10 weeks!
