Hi,
I'm Cindy. I'm 50, 5'4" and 159.6 as of Aug 1st. Lost 4.6 lbs in July. I didn't quite reach my goal weight for July, but I was close. I have fought with the same 10lbs for the last year.
So my doctor wants to put me on Wegovy or Zepbound. Between the cost and doing a little research, I don't think its a great solution for me. Looks like it might be a rest of life commitment. No thank you!
Started at the gym 7/3. Been going 5 days a week. Missed a few days due to life.
I see my doctor again at the end of August, so I want to loose at least 10 lbs by then to prove I can do it without meds. My ultimate goal is 135 lbs.
Starting weight: 164.2 (July 1, 2024)

Aug 1st - 159.6 - Used the rowing machine at the gym for the first time. My friend and I liked it. Why aren't more people using it. No one is ever on it.
Aug 2nd - 160 - Probably the few bites of cookies I had after dinner last night. My daughter wanted Crumble Cookie. How could I say no after the crazy week we have had?

Aug 4th - 160.4 - not paying attention to what I ate yesterday and ate dinner late. Need to work harder this week on what I am putting in my mouth. Last week was a little crazy and I was trying to feed a bunch of young adults. Needed quick, cheap, and easy.
Aug 5th - 158.8 - Actually lost weight over the weekend!
Aug 6th - 157.4 - Not sure how that happened, but I will take it. Only did cardio at the gym yesterday afternoon. I was in a hurry. Had lots to do yesterday evening.

Aug 9th - 160.2 - Very tired this week. Not really sure what is going on except maybe stress. Still going to the gym, but mostly cardio this week and very little weights.
Aug 10th - 159 - Scale finally moving back the other direction.
Aug 11th - 159.2 - I knew it would go up this morning. Yesterday was really busy and only had energy by the end of the day to order pizza. I did have a salad for lunch anticipating being exhausted at the end of the day. Today will be better.

Aug 13th - 158.6 - Ugh! Why? Not looking good to meet my goal. I have my doctor appointment on the 27th. I'm afraid she will try to push the drugs again.1 -

08/12-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- My oldest daughter sent me a loaf of fresh zucchini bread made from her garden veg. I didnโt need to weigh to know that I continue to be up. My diet has been bad and we canโt outrun the fork so I just want to bury my head in the sand and stay clueless. I do usually get in a lot more movement over the weekends because my younger DD and DGS are here so hopefully that movement helped. Babysitting him keeps me on my toes!
08/13-190.6-(Trend Weight 189.8)- This has been a very difficult and bad month for me so far - filled with travel and lack of exercise. Tomorrow is my family doctor appointment for me and my son also. The doctor will be very disappointed with my scale reading but not nearly as disappointed as I am. Today will be another busy day with my work crew. I am helping on a project but its all sitting and no steps. Otherwise, itโs great progress on the remodeling front. The outside projects are moving along nicely. I canโt do much about the lack of exercise right now, but there is no excuse for not watching the calories and carbs. Gotta get back in the groove and not let the chaos of the renovations derail me.

My July Reflection for anyone who cares to read:July Reflection
July was a tough month for me. I do not really understand why I lost motivation this month, but probably a combination of not being able to do my normal exercise routine coupled with getting close to my goal and self-sabotage.
I lost 1.5 pounds this month. My goal was to at least lose 2% of my body weight which would have been about 3 pounds. I got close for a couple of days โ but then went over the top and gained some back. The good thing is that I got back at it right away and did not allow the one-day binges to continue into a weekend, or weeklong binge. Down 84.5 pounds since I started this journey.
Exercise was different for me this month as well. The doctor asked that complete non weight bearing exercises, so no real walking. My strength, cardio, stretch, and steps were all done in the chair most of the month. I did get the green light to start up again at the end of the month and am slowly transitioning from chair to standing.
Now for the good news โ I reached the 1,500-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging about 150 miles in July (mostly seated). I found a place on my Garmin app which gives me the total intentional exercise time โ so much easier for me to track my second goal which was 2,024 miles of intentional exercise (I count 20 minutes as a mile). I was previously doing it on an excel spreadsheet โ which probably wasnโt too accurate. With this new calculation I am at 1,181 miles to date โ just where I should be to complete it for the year. I can do it.
There are a lot of obstacles in my way for the month of August. Family picnic this weekend, followed by my birthday, then a three-day girlโs trip to Turning Stone Casino, and then finally a three-day trip for my wedding anniversary. With that in mind am going to keep the same goal as July โ a 2% loss. Yes, I would love to see that ideal number (3.5 pounds), but that dangling carrot hasnโt helped me with my goals, so am going to shoot for that in September when it is much more reachable. It is also break time for both the Hogwarts and BLC challenges โ so need to motivate myself โ not as easy to do.
I have thought a lot about what my final goal should be. My initial goal was five pounds under the ideal range or 135 pounds. But when I look at myself, I still do not see fit. So am adjusting it to 100-pound loss or January 8, 2025 (my two-year starting date) whichever comes first.
My Goals for August:

PRIOR WEEKSAug 1: 142.8 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ช ๐ฆ ๐ง I'll never get it - didn't really do anything different - but a nice swish. Nothing exciting happening - end of the month is reflection and budget day so spent a good amount of time at the computer. I added a new goal this month - declutter - thinking one declutter thing a week. We'll see how that goes on my goal to become more minimalistic. My Aunt cancelled the family picnic that was planned for this weekend. My other Aunt is up from Florida and we were all going to get together - but it is supposed to rain all day so she cancelled. I'm sorry to see it because I haven't seen a couple of my cousins in a long time - but one less temptation this month is probably a good thing as August is filled with one to many for me.
Aug 2: 142.7 ๐๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฆต๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐งNice day yesterday, went out on the boat, a little dip in the water. I love our little lake (which only town resisdents can use). I counted the boats that were on the water - 2 boats, 1 jet ski, and a paddle board (plus us). My knee was feeling great yesterday, and I got in 17K steps. This was my daily goal pre knee injury so was so happy to see it. I'm feeling a little sore this morning though, so will curb it a little today.
Aug 3: 142.4 ๐๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ช ๐ฆ ๐งHot and Humid in Connecticut yesterday. Got our walk in, but was super sticky. We harvested our first pot of potatoes (we picked the little one to see how they were doing) and got seven good potatoes from the pot. Super happy with that. After a terrible garden year, it was nice to see some profits from our work. We talked about next year's garden and all we can seem to grown this year is tomatoes and potatoes (and ok arugula). Even the fruit trees - no apples, no pears - we do have peaches but the squirrels are taking them one by one before they are ripe. No big plans for today - it's also going to be a hot and humid one.
Aug 4: 142.5 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฆต๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐งOne of my spare bedrooms has my treadmill in it and a weight machine. We had a twin sized bed in there as well (it was Allyson's room way back when). Finally decided to get rid of the bed. Also cleaned out the bureau - now the bureau is empty (going to move some things from my bedroom to make it so my closet isn't stuffed) and we moved the ab chair into the room. Threw away a big bag of stuff, another big bag going to good will and a couple bags of stuff for Allyson to go through. If she doesn't want it another two bags to goodwill. Now it is truely a workout room. ๐
Aug 5: 142.9 ๐ ๐ฅ ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งRest and stretch day for me. I also didn't get all my water in - hoping the uptick is just that. Tonight is bingo with the Mom and the gang. Celebrating my birthday (and one of the other in Mom's circle of friends). So will have a light eating day today to make up for the cupcakes tonight. Prelogged my day and if I stick to it should still end up with a deficit. Cleaned out the closet in the workout room - another two bags to goodwill.
Aug 6: 143.2 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ช๐ฆต ๐ฆ ๐งTotally expected, the cupcake sugar high made me ravenous and when I got home I binged - added another 650 calories of junk to the mix. Back at it today. Good thing is that I won for a change - went bingo twice, and won the $10 door prize.
WEEK TWO

Aug 7: 142.9 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ ๐ฆ๐งGood day yesterday. Didn't get the expected amount of rain they were predicting, so got in my AM walk. We also took a drive to the shore, took a little stroll down the boardwalk at the mouth of the Connecticut River.
Aug 8: 143.4 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ช๐ฆตOver my sodium goal yesterday and my calorie limit was 12 calories over - I know not by much but the sodium on top of it and the scale shows every bit of my being off plan. I haven't been sleeping well either which I think contributes to the scale. Today is my actual birthday (64), but not doing much today - will celebrate tomorrow and Saturday when Allyson will be here.
Aug 9: 144.5 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ซ๐ฆตOut last night to celebrate my birthday. I logged everything and it wasn't pretty. But I did have a nice time.
Aug 10: 143.5 ๐ ๐ฅ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ ๐ก๐ง Back to where I started at the beginning of the month. Hopefully can make a dent downward before I leave on my trip on Thursday (three day girls outting). Rest day yesterday. Allyson stayed most of the day. She is writing a book and when she finishes a chapter she reads them to me. I got two this weekend. ๐ฅฐ Then we went out on the boat for a bit, took a little plunge in the water. Had our dinner at lunchtime, then Allyson headed home. I got a new tv for my workout room - so after she left set that up.

Aug 12: 143 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐ก๐งHarvested the potted potatoes yesterday - got about 15 pounds in the six pots. Still have a few plants that we sowed in the ground - we are leaving those for now - they don't appear to be finished quite yet. Yup, next year potatoes and tomatoes - that's all that seems to grow well. We have another woodchuck that just consumed the peppers and squash plants - Greg saw him crawl over the gate! It hasn't been a great year for the garden.
Aug 13: 142.6 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ช๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฆ ๐ก๐งWent for nice walk yesterday - we were going to our usual spot but the bridge over the river was closed so had to turn around. Stopped at Machimoodus state park. We haven't been here in a really long time.

Aug 14: 142.4 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ฆต ๐ฆ ๐ก Went to Allyson's yesterday AM, she was having issues with the new chromebook she bought - apparently the office 365 app not compatible - so since she bought it to work on her book during her lunchbreaks - it is being returned. I thought maybe I could figure out a way to get there on the web - but couldn't get it done. Then I got home and checked the garden, I was going to pull out the eaten squash and found a hiding squash in the one plant that wasn't demolished - HUGE - almost three pounds. They aren't as good when then get big. Oh well, tried a new skinnytaste receipe for Stuffed Zucchini. It was tasty. Tomorrow AM going on my trip with the girls - so won't be posting for the next few days. We are off to Turning Stone Casino for three days of fun and gambling. I met this milestone yesterday!

I'm 54 and have been married 28 years. I have 2 children-- a son who is 23 and a daughter who is 19. I work full-time selling new construction homes, and I absolutely love it! Yardwork is also one of my favorite things to do...from grass cutting to weed wacking...if I can be outside, I will be playing in the yard.

Disc golf was fun with The Old Guys. I didn't realize that one of them is 75! Holy moly; that's ancient in almost any sport. But I'm glad for him that it keeps him active; The Old Guys typically play every day, twice a day - 10am and 2pm - weather permitting.
I threw about my average, 21 over par. I've been a novice level player for 15 years so I don't think I'm going to advance in my game any further, at the infrequent pace that I play. However, I played pretty well yesterday, and took the lead on a hole twice.
I figured out how to map my game to get the mileage/steps logged as exercise from my watch. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how much raw data that gave me! I walked 1.8 miles/5051 steps. It even have me my stride length, heart rates, plus a whole lot more.

Tomorrow is my family doctor appointment for me and my son also. The doctor will be very disappointed with my scale reading but not nearly as disappointed as I am. Today will be another busy day with my work crew. I am helping on a project but its all sitting and no steps. Otherwise, itโs great progress on the remodeling front. The outside projects are moving along nicely. I canโt do much about the lack of exercise right now, but there is no excuse for not watching the calories and carbs. Gotta get back in the groove and not let the chaos of the renovations derail me.
08/14-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW )- The last few days have been such a whirlwind of work surrounding my outside renovations that I donโt even know where I stand at this point. I am truly not even sure if Iโve done good or bad and I donโt think I have the heart to find out. Itโs been grab and go, but less snacks so Iโm a bit confused but today I chose to keep my head buried in the sand. Doctor appointment today so they will weigh me but itโs always higher in the afternoon and with all the clothes so it will not even reveal much, which is best right now with my current mental state. I will be going out to lunch with son after our appointments so tomorrow will no5 bode well due to likely sodium content of restaurant food. I may skip the weight until Friday. My July Reflection for anyone who cares to read:July Reflection
July was a tough month for me. I do not really understand why I lost motivation this month, but probably a combination of not being able to do my normal exercise routine coupled with getting close to my goal and self-sabotage.
I lost 1.5 pounds this month. My goal was to at least lose 2% of my body weight which would have been about 3 pounds. I got close for a couple of days โ but then went over the top and gained some back. The good thing is that I got back at it right away and did not allow the one-day binges to continue into a weekend, or weeklong binge. Down 84.5 pounds since I started this journey.
Exercise was different for me this month as well. The doctor asked that complete non weight bearing exercises, so no real walking. My strength, cardio, stretch, and steps were all done in the chair most of the month. I did get the green light to start up again at the end of the month and am slowly transitioning from chair to standing.
Now for the good news โ I reached the 1,500-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging about 150 miles in July (mostly seated). I found a place on my Garmin app which gives me the total intentional exercise time โ so much easier for me to track my second goal which was 2,024 miles of intentional exercise (I count 20 minutes as a mile). I was previously doing it on an excel spreadsheet โ which probably wasnโt too accurate. With this new calculation I am at 1,181 miles to date โ just where I should be to complete it for the year. I can do it.
There are a lot of obstacles in my way for the month of August. Family picnic this weekend, followed by my birthday, then a three-day girlโs trip to Turning Stone Casino, and then finally a three-day trip for my wedding anniversary. With that in mind am going to keep the same goal as July โ a 2% loss. Yes, I would love to see that ideal number (3.5 pounds), but that dangling carrot hasnโt helped me with my goals, so am going to shoot for that in September when it is much more reachable. It is also break time for both the Hogwarts and BLC challenges โ so need to motivate myself โ not as easy to do.
I have thought a lot about what my final goal should be. My initial goal was five pounds under the ideal range or 135 pounds. But when I look at myself, I still do not see fit. So am adjusting it to 100-pound loss or January 8, 2025 (my two-year starting date) whichever comes first.

PRIOR WEEKSAug 1: 142.8 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ช ๐ฆ ๐ง I'll never get it - didn't really do anything different - but a nice swish. Nothing exciting happening - end of the month is reflection and budget day so spent a good amount of time at the computer. I added a new goal this month - declutter - thinking one declutter thing a week. We'll see how that goes on my goal to become more minimalistic. My Aunt cancelled the family picnic that was planned for this weekend. My other Aunt is up from Florida and we were all going to get together - but it is supposed to rain all day so she cancelled. I'm sorry to see it because I haven't seen a couple of my cousins in a long time - but one less temptation this month is probably a good thing as August is filled with one to many for me.
Aug 2: 142.7 ๐๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฆต๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐งNice day yesterday, went out on the boat, a little dip in the water. I love our little lake (which only town resisdents can use). I counted the boats that were on the water - 2 boats, 1 jet ski, and a paddle board (plus us). My knee was feeling great yesterday, and I got in 17K steps. This was my daily goal pre knee injury so was so happy to see it. I'm feeling a little sore this morning though, so will curb it a little today.
Aug 3: 142.4 ๐๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ช ๐ฆ ๐งHot and Humid in Connecticut yesterday. Got our walk in, but was super sticky. We harvested our first pot of potatoes (we picked the little one to see how they were doing) and got seven good potatoes from the pot. Super happy with that. After a terrible garden year, it was nice to see some profits from our work. We talked about next year's garden and all we can seem to grown this year is tomatoes and potatoes (and ok arugula). Even the fruit trees - no apples, no pears - we do have peaches but the squirrels are taking them one by one before they are ripe. No big plans for today - it's also going to be a hot and humid one.
Aug 4: 142.5 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฆต๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐งOne of my spare bedrooms has my treadmill in it and a weight machine. We had a twin sized bed in there as well (it was Allyson's room way back when). Finally decided to get rid of the bed. Also cleaned out the bureau - now the bureau is empty (going to move some things from my bedroom to make it so my closet isn't stuffed) and we moved the ab chair into the room. Threw away a big bag of stuff, another big bag going to good will and a couple bags of stuff for Allyson to go through. If she doesn't want it another two bags to goodwill. Now it is truely a workout room. ๐
Aug 5: 142.9 ๐ ๐ฅ ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งRest and stretch day for me. I also didn't get all my water in - hoping the uptick is just that. Tonight is bingo with the Mom and the gang. Celebrating my birthday (and one of the other in Mom's circle of friends). So will have a light eating day today to make up for the cupcakes tonight. Prelogged my day and if I stick to it should still end up with a deficit. Cleaned out the closet in the workout room - another two bags to goodwill.
Aug 6: 143.2 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ช๐ฆต ๐ฆ ๐งTotally expected, the cupcake sugar high made me ravenous and when I got home I binged - added another 650 calories of junk to the mix. Back at it today. Good thing is that I won for a change - went bingo twice, and won the $10 door prize.

Aug 7: 142.9 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ ๐ฆ๐งGood day yesterday. Didn't get the expected amount of rain they were predicting, so got in my AM walk. We also took a drive to the shore, took a little stroll down the boardwalk at the mouth of the Connecticut River.
Aug 8: 143.4 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ช๐ฆตOver my sodium goal yesterday and my calorie limit was 12 calories over - I know not by much but the sodium on top of it and the scale shows every bit of my being off plan. I haven't been sleeping well either which I think contributes to the scale. Today is my actual birthday (64), but not doing much today - will celebrate tomorrow and Saturday when Allyson will be here.
Aug 9: 144.5 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ซ๐ฆตOut last night to celebrate my birthday. I logged everything and it wasn't pretty. But I did have a nice time.
Aug 10: 143.5 ๐ ๐ฅ ๐งโโ๏ธ ๐ฆ ๐ก๐ง Back to where I started at the beginning of the month. Hopefully can make a dent downward before I leave on my trip on Thursday (three day girls outting). Rest day yesterday. Allyson stayed most of the day. She is writing a book and when she finishes a chapter she reads them to me. I got two this weekend. ๐ฅฐ Then we went out on the boat for a bit, took a little plunge in the water. Had our dinner at lunchtime, then Allyson headed home. I got a new tv for my workout room - so after she left set that up.

Aug 12: 143 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ ๐ฆ ๐ก๐งHarvested the potted potatoes yesterday - got about 15 pounds in the six pots. Still have a few plants that we sowed in the ground - we are leaving those for now - they don't appear to be finished quite yet. Yup, next year potatoes and tomatoes - that's all that seems to grow well. We have another woodchuck that just consumed the peppers and squash plants - Greg saw him crawl over the gate! It hasn't been a great year for the garden.

Aug 14: 142.4 ๐ ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ฆต ๐ฆ ๐ก Went to Allyson's yesterday AM, she was having issues with the new chromebook she bought - apparently the office 365 app not compatible - so since she bought it to work on her book during her lunchbreaks - it is being returned. I thought maybe I could figure out a way to get there on the web - but couldn't get it done. Then I got home and checked the garden, I was going to pull out the eaten squash and found a hiding squash in the one plant that wasn't demolished - HUGE - almost three pounds. They aren't as good when then get big. Oh well, tried a new skinnytaste receipe for Stuffed Zucchini. It was tasty. Tomorrow AM going on my trip with the girls - so won't be posting for the next few days. We are off to Turning Stone Casino for three days of fun and gambling. I met this milestone yesterday!
Aug 15: 143.5 ๐ฃ ๐ ๐ก Didn't think I would check in today because of my trip - but leaving later than I anticipated. Diisasterous day; I made cookies for the trip and of course had to taste them. Tasting led to a sugar binge - chip binge - a beer. Typical for me - I go off plan just a bit and it is like it is a freedom to do whatever I want. The good part of yesterday was that I tried my paddleboard. I didn't stand up on it - tried but the wobbling of it wasn't good for my knee and didn't want to re-injure it - so just did it kneeling; it was fun. My plan for the trip is to get up earlier than the others and head to the fitness room for a treadmill walk. If I still have time I might do some MFP (bringing my laptop) before my roomies rise. Hope I don't wake them. That's the plan anyway - we'll see if I can get my butt out of bed after a night out.2 -

I'm Cindy. I'm 50, 5'4" and 159.6 as of Aug 1st. Lost 4.6 lbs in July. I didn't quite reach my goal weight for July, but I was close. I have fought with the same 10lbs for the last year.
So my doctor wants to put me on Wegovy or Zepbound. Between the cost and doing a little research, I don't think its a great solution for me. Looks like it might be a rest of life commitment. No thank you!
Started at the gym 7/3. Been going 5 days a week. Missed a few days due to life.
I see my doctor again at the end of August, so I want to loose at least 10 lbs by then to prove I can do it without meds. My ultimate goal is 135 lbs.

I'm still eating a bit over my calories, but that needs to get reined in. Otherwise, I hit all my macros. Yesterday was a bit unexpected. My husband and I had switched cars because he had go to a meeting 45 minutes away, and he drives an old beat up truck. As I was using it to go to work, it was having trouble shifting out of first gear. I ended up pulling off into a residential neighborhood and calling my boss to tell her I wasn't going to make it. I was worried that if I got to my client's house, I wouldn't be able to get home and it would be after hours. So I put the flashers on and I nursed the truck back home. Allen has mechanical expertise so he can look at it, but not until next week when he has time. So, we will be sharing a car the rest of the week. Not a big deal, just an inconvenience.
I spent the day yesterday doing laundry, doing the ironing, catching up on dishes, vacuuming, etc. Today I work in the morning, then it is self-care time when I do my nails on Thursday afternoons. I'll probably finish the ironing, and change the sheets.2 -

08/14-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW )- The last few days have been such a whirlwind of work surrounding my outside renovations that I donโt even know where I stand at this point. I am truly not even sure if Iโve done good or bad and I donโt think I have the heart to find out. Itโs been grab and go, but less snacks so Iโm a bit confused but today I chose to keep my head buried in the sand. Doctor appointment today so they will weigh me but itโs always higher in the afternoon and with all the clothes so it will not even reveal much, which is best right now with my current mental state. I will be going out to lunch with son after our appointments so tomorrow will no5 bode well due to likely sodium content of restaurant food. I may skip the weight until Friday. In the meantime, Iโm in YOUR corner and continue to support you!
08/15-190.8-(Trend Weight 190.3)- While Iโm impressed with my new family doctorโs credentials, I was not very impressed with him during the appointment yesterday. When I talked to him about the obsessive snacking and the food noise and cravings at night I asked him if there was anything that could help. Perhaps a medication that my insurance will cover. Something for OCD? Etc. etc. His advise to me is to just stop it. Just stop obsessing, stop bingeing, just โstop itโ. Oh, how I wish it was that easy. Even a physical tip would have helped. A website, a book. Anything! I also expressed my concerns with the Lasix Iโve been put back on as one dr keeps taking me off of it to protect kidneys (endo), the other (cardiologist) keeps putting me back on. Family doctor said my kidneys should be okay as long as I drink enough water with it. But not too much since my heart is having a hard time pumping it through. So how much should I drink? He said โnot too muchโ. So what the hell is that amount? Damn, Iโm in a rut right now. It feels like I just have a shoddy attitude and that Iโm sinking over here. Iโm going to do some online research today as my contractor is off to take his kids to his local fair in his county. I guess Iโll get the water answers the hard way. On the upside, my A1C was improved again. My weight was up by 3 pounds from 3 months ago. I thought it would be more. He said my A1C will get even better if I stop the night time snacking. No Shoot Sherlock! UGH!

Hi,
I'm Cindy. I'm 50, 5'4" and 159.6 as of Aug 1st. Lost 4.6 lbs in July. I didn't quite reach my goal weight for July, but I was close. I have fought with the same 10lbs for the last year.
So my doctor wants to put me on Wegovy or Zepbound. Between the cost and doing a little research, I don't think its a great solution for me. Looks like it might be a rest of life commitment. No thank you!
Started at the gym 7/3. Been going 5 days a week. Missed a few days due to life.
I see my doctor again at the end of August, so I want to loose at least 10 lbs by then to prove I can do it without meds. My ultimate goal is 135 lbs.
Starting weight: 164.2 (July 1, 2024)

Aug 1st - 159.6 - Used the rowing machine at the gym for the first time. My friend and I liked it. Why aren't more people using it. No one is ever on it.
Aug 2nd - 160 - Probably the few bites of cookies I had after dinner last night. My daughter wanted Crumble Cookie. How could I say no after the crazy week we have had?

Aug 4th - 160.4 - not paying attention to what I ate yesterday and ate dinner late. Need to work harder this week on what I am putting in my mouth. Last week was a little crazy and I was trying to feed a bunch of young adults. Needed quick, cheap, and easy.
Aug 5th - 158.8 - Actually lost weight over the weekend!
Aug 6th - 157.4 - Not sure how that happened, but I will take it. Only did cardio at the gym yesterday afternoon. I was in a hurry. Had lots to do yesterday evening.

Aug 9th - 160.2 - Very tired this week. Not really sure what is going on except maybe stress. Still going to the gym, but mostly cardio this week and very little weights.

Aug 11th - 159.2 - I knew it would go up this morning. Yesterday was really busy and only had energy by the end of the day to order pizza. I did have a salad for lunch anticipating being exhausted at the end of the day. Today will be better.

Aug 13th - 158.6 - Ugh! Why? Not looking good to meet my goal. I have my doctor appointment on the 27th. I'm afraid she will try to push the drugs again.

Aug 15th - 158.4 - The scale needs to move down! Weights and cardio for about an hour afterwork yesterday. Only ate a salad with tomatoes and cucumber last night for dinner. I won't say what I ate for lunch. I think the lesson learned is eat a lighter dinner and a heavier lunch.
Aug 16th - 157.8 - Makes a difference when I stay away from bread. Now for the weekend. Have party to attend for my husband's grandfather tomorrow. He will be 101 and still going strong. Drives and lives by himself. It will be pool side so I probably won't want to eat much because its Texas and it will be hot tomorrow.2 -

I was only 7 calories over my limit yesterday so I'm still counting it as bring in. If it was more than 10, I'd count it as over. But I had been going over my calories by a few hundred, through much of the week, and I fought with that last night, and proud of myself this morning instead of feeling mildly defeated.
I'm working a double today, it's clients I love but I have to bring projects to keep my mind active or I will be watching the clock, and that drives my stress level up, which leads to overeating when I get home. I promise to nap first, right after work, and then I will be more clear headed before I go into the kitchen.1 -

08/16-191.4-(Trend Weight 190.7)- I must apologize for my attitude and rant yesterday. I was in such a dark place. When the doctors tell me to limit my exercise due to my newest heart issues and to limit my water for the same reason, I just feel so lost. I mean, it is messing with two very VITAL parts of my weight loss plan, exercise and water!!! So today I turned off my alarm clock and decided to have a good attitude. I just need to change my exercise to mild cardio, maybe more walking. I need to drink less water and overall liquids, yes, but I can spread them out more evenly throughout the day so there may still be some effectiveness. THEN, I sat here, and continue to sit here, waitingโฆ..waiting (yet again) for my contractor to get here who was scheduled for 9:00. I stay up pretty late and am not normally an early riser (I like to sleep until about 10:00 in my retirement), but have been accommodating his schedule to get these jobs done. EXCEPT, he does this often enough to tick me off. Oh, how I could have used the sleep! And I donโt need sleep issues on top of exercise and water issues! So, in keeping my promise to myself to have a more positive day, I just want to say that Iโve pre-logged my food for the first time since July 31st, I have already done a Leslie Sansone walking video on youtube this morning and I am going to enjoy my DGS who is here with me for the weekend and Iโm going to avoid my daughters food offerings from her mobile grocery store. NSV, however, last night she pulled Russell Stoverโs sugar free 5 pc bag of chocolates out of her Mary Poppins bag for me. Sugar Free! Wow, thatโs a win! She heard me for once! I'm 54 and have been married 28 years. I have 2 children-- a son who is 23 and a daughter who is 19. I work full-time selling new construction homes, and I absolutely love it! Yardwork is also one of my favorite things to do...from grass cutting to weed wacking...if I can be outside, I will be playing in the yard.

This week Iโve been very tired and have fallen into a bit of depression. I canโt stand my body but am so weak when it comes to food. Even sticking to 1500 calories is a challenge. I just want to be able to eat normally. This last week Iโve been really inactive due to fibromyalgia pain then from feeling so fat and gross I donโt want to leave the house. I desperately want to be back under 100kg.

We had takeout for dinner last night; I had to work a double and was pretty wiped out after work. All next week except 1 day, I'm working doubles, so food will be a challenge.
