Intentional exercise
9/2 – 25 min to walgreens @ 25 min 3.6 mph, 37 min beach walk w/ DH @ 2 mph
Sheri, I read long ago that moving a mile burns the same number of calories whether you do it running or walking. I haven’t read anything that disputes that however, I suspect the long term would be different if you run - how many of us actually RUN?

@quiltingjaine I have heard similar things. Out of curiosity, I did the math from yesterday's two walks, based on my Apple's watches data from my walks. The faster one was roughly 70 calories/mile, and the slow walk was 56 calories/mile. Probably close enough for that premise to be good advice for "just doing it" regardless on one's pace.3 -

74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
