Yesterday was a good day. Work in the morning, then hit a few Goodwill stores; in my area, the last Thursday of the month all the clothes are $3.00. I filled in color gaps in my shirt layering for fall, and it always helps to take my color palette swatches with me. Before doing color analysis, I would've never chosen tomato red or dark mustard or burnt orange or rust - but those are excellent colors on me. My skin is ivory with a warm undertone, hazel eyes, hair color is now graying but was a light brown initially. Clothing palette is dark autumn; so imagine dark teal, dark turquoise, plum, raspberry, cream, olive, chocolate brown etc; those are some of my best colors.

Today is the pre-op appointment for my cataract surgery. I feel prepared with the right questions. My main concern is that they'll say I shouldn't be driving. TBH... I probably shouldn't. I don't think I'm safe at night especially. Street lighting/signal lights/headlights have so much glare that I have trouble seeing and I have to squint the whole time, and that gives me a headache. 😔😔😔

    09/25-192.6-(Trend Weight 193.7)-

09/26-191.8-(Trend Weight 103/5)-It’s nice to see the drop on the scale but I can’t call yesterday a success. If you could have seen the garbage I chose to eat instead of dinner you would be amazed that I lost anything at all. The worst choice ever! I did skip dinner because of it and I knew that I would probably have to before I ate it, but it didn’t stop me. I barely squeaked in under my calorie allowance for the day but was more than double my normal carb intake. I had no formal exercise either. I chose to grocery shop locally instead once the reno crew left. I wish I wouldn’t have even went, that’s where I got the horrid makeshift dinner. But it was Wed Senior Discount Day at the store. Was it worth the discount? No. Honestly, I think it was self-sabotage in play.

09/27-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- I hate waiting for an hour for coffee on my Fosamax day. Even though they have me guzzle water with it, it is just not the same as a steamy cup of get-up-and-go. I started out grumpy because of it but I used some of that time doing my Youtube workout which was about 15 minutes long. Yesterday was a so-so day (there’s always room for improvement}. I still need to work on my actual choices, even if they fit okay into my macros. Choices are definitely harder on busy days where there is more of a grab-n-go mentality for me. I’m Happy to say that the siding and roof were finally completed yesterday along with all the fascia. Now we are back to just my contractor and whatever help he brings. They are currently cleaning up yard mess and re-organizing everything outside. New shutters have been installed and new lights are also up. I’ll post pics when I get time. They are also doing some trim work inside on all the new windows that were put in. Blinds probably won’t be installed on all of them until next week as Friday is their short day. I can’t wait to get the blankets down from the windows. My grandson and daughter arrived early this week (Wed) due to my DGS’s broken arm. Some of my roughest temptations are because of it. Today is Friday which is payday for her. God only knows what she’ll carry in tonight after work. Praying for strength on my part. There’s not too many days left in this month to make progress.

For the new people I write a reflection on how my prior month's weight loss journey went. Here is mine from August for anyone that cares to read.

    August Reflection

The highly anticipated terrible August came and as expected was kind of a wash. I had a wonderful time – but it is now time to get at it. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly truth.

First and foremost, I lost 1.1 pounds this month. My steady shrinking is still in play – I have lost every month since I started this weight loss journey. That being said, I made it by the skin of my teeth My birthday, girls trips, and anniversary all happened this month. Phew!

Exercise was better this month. I got the green light to start unseated exercise again in August and gradually increased my steps to an average of about 12-14K steps per day.

I reached the 1,700-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging about 200 miles this month, as we speak am at 1,720 miles. My tracker says that I hit my goal in Mid-October. My second goal of hitting 2,024 intentional miles is coming along – currently at 1,337 miles, 66% of the goal. It’s just shy of where I should be (67%), but if my body holds up – I can do it.

I am more determined than ever to get this done, and I hope that September will get me to the ideal BMI range (just 2.5 pounds to go). Then as I mentioned last month, will see where I end up as my goal weight when I get there - 100-pound loss or January 8, 2025 (my two-year starting date) whichever comes first.

My before and after pictures for August - not the best pictures - but didn't take too many in August.

    kd1o1lhxc3hu.png

    My Goals for September:
    • Get to ideal BMI Range (140 pounds)
    • Alternate Cardio and Strength
    • Average 14K Steps per day
    • Continue Physical Therapy Knee exercise – every other day
    • Make up miles for intentional 2,024 in 2024 to ensure that I make it

    👣📝🥗🕛💪🫀🦵🧘‍♀️💦🧂

    Prior Weeks
    Week One
Sep 1- 142.5 📝🥗💪🦵💦🧂I had a set back with my knee yesterday. Switched my strength exercise to a seated one, and couldn't get on the treadmill without pain - so was below my step goal. Iced and went to bed early - feel better this morning but will take it easy today - going to call it my rest day! Did my budget and my reflection (both not pretty this month).

Sep 2 - 142 😁👣📝🥗🫀💦🧂Knee is feeling much better, iced whenever I was sitting on my bottom in front of the tube! Got my intended exercise done, a little bit of cleaning done. A productive day.

Sep 3 - 142 👣📝🥗💪🦵💦🧂Beautiful day in CT. Got in our normal AM walk, then cleaned out the front garden. I weeded out the front flowerbed, getting ready to plant some fall mums. Picked some basil and made some tomato/basil sauce - it was just ok. Next time, add some more spice. Then it was bingo night with mom. I didn't win, but won the half time trivia contest and the door prize - I'm rich $20 (I spend $30). LOL! Mom was in a grouchy mood - her hip is bothering her AND she didn't win. ☹️

Sep 4 - 143.1 👣📝🧘‍♀️💦🧂 Let's just say I did to myself and I'm not proud about it. It was one of those can't sleep days, and binged while I was up. I know it's temporary if I can turn it around today. I am not going down this road again where I get close and then sabatoge myself.

Sep 5 - 143 👣📝🥗🫀🦵💦🧂Another night of no sleep, didn't binge - but did eat late. I justified it because I had calories left in my day - so today adding another tracker to my list - eat within my eight hour window. I have an orthopedic appointment for me knee today, hoping another shot will help with the soreness.

Sep 6 - 142.5 📝🥗🕛💪💦🧂Orthopedic appointment well ok. Dr is submitting a request to insurance for a gel injection. It is supposed to last about 6 months. We talked about another cortizone shot, but she thought this might be a better for me. We discussed surgery again for the meniscus tear - but she doesn't think that is the best solution at this time - the repair could make the arthritis pain worse. Also talked about just using over the counter ibuprofen - but I don't like that option. Allyson's diswasher wouldn't drain, so we went to her place after the appointment - the motor is shot. Picking up a new one and installing today. Then tonight Allyson is coming for the weekend - celebrating Greg's birthday - dinner tonight and we are going to see a play tomorrow. I'll try to stick to the plan!

Sep 7 - 142.5 👣📝🥗🕛🫀🦵💦🧂Happy with that number. We ordered in for dinner in - asian. Did well, ate 1/2 my entre - some endamame, and a spring roll and then a Yogurt Sundae (greek yogurt with mixed fruit, whipped cream, and some granola on top) for dessert. I tracked as good as I could and with my light BF and Lunch came under! I'm out again today - going out to lunch before we go to the play - checked out the restaurant and know what I am going to order - Arugula and Beet salad with goat cheese. Expect a rise tomorrow from the two days out - fingers crossed it won't happen.

    Week Two

Sep 8 - 142.4 👣📝🥗💪💦 Had a wonderful time yesterday. Started the morning with our usual walk, it was a cool morning, the leaves are just beginning to turn, lots of acorns on the ground. We met a family with two golden doodles on our walk. I always think we should get another. Dad says no way.

We went out for lunch and my plan for the beet salad was squashed - not on the actual menu (just on the internet). I had a wedge salad instead. Greg and Allyson ordered some pretzels for an app - I had one bite. Then Greg and I split a Tirimisu (I ate most) for dessert.

The play was phenomenal. One of the best that I have seen in a long time. Great music, and ALL the cast was so talented, not just the lead. It's based on the true story scottish born singer-songwriter Johnny Reid's grandmother of a coal miner's widow raising three boys with the help of her close knit friends.

Today - one more day of celebrating Greg's birthday. The Friends of Lake Pocotopaug is a group in my town that's mission is dedicated to the improvement of the Lake Pocotopaug and its environment. They are having a wine tasting fund raiser. There is an island in the middle of the lake, a privae island available for rent. It has a main lodge and five guesthouses. We have floated my many times but have never been on it. The tasting is on the island. Looking forward to it. There is a snack with it (I'm expecting cheese) and will call this my lunch.

Sep 9 - 144 👣📝🥗🕛🫀🦵💦 The weekend festivities caught up to me - although I stayed under my calorie limit - being over my sodium limit a couple days in a row will get me every time. I will need to flush it out for the next few days.

Sep 10 - 143.3 👣📝🥗🕛💪💦🧂Bingo night with Mom, resisted the goodies - noone won! Had a hearing test done yesterday, getting my hearing aides adjusted this morning. A little worse than last time - par for the course. Then not much going on - guess it's a housework day!

Sep 11 - 142.3 👣📝🥗🕛🫀🦵💦🧂Nice swish this morning. Hearing aids adjusted, doesn't sound any different to me - but will have to do. Today getting my gel injection, then we are going to see Reagan this afternoon. It's Greg's actual birthday today.

Sep 12 - 141.7 😁 📝🥗🕛🫀🧘‍♀️💦🧂Another nice swish today and my first smile in a while. Rest day yesterday; my knee was pretty sore after the injection. I got in a small zumba workout later in the day, and did a seated stretch workout as well. I really enjoyed the movie. Dennis Quaid and Penelope Miller did an outstanding job playing Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Today we are going out on the boat with my sister and brother in law. Trying to soak in the last of summer while its here. It is supposed to be a beautiful day here today, high of 80, sunny, light winds.

Sep 13 - 141.4 😁 📝🥗🕛🫀💦🧂Beautiful day on the water yesterday, then out to lunch. I had a salad with grilled chicken, and then had a light dinner to make up for it. I missed my step goal again, and also didn't do my knee stretches which was in my plan. My knee was/is pretty sore still from the injection. Although I did earn this trophy yesterday that I was happy about - 1800 miles in my quest for 2,024 in 2024 (walking not running).

Sep 14 - 141 😁 👣📝🥗🕛💪🦵💦🧂Another nice day in Connecticut. Went for our morning walk. Then went out for another ride on the boat, trying to take in the last days of summer. Got my steps and workouts done. Cleaned a little, all in all a good day.

    Week Three

Sep 15 - 140.7 😁👣📝🥗🕛🫀💦🧂 Got it all done, nice walk in the AM, cleaned the bathrooms, relaxed a little soaking in the sun, then did my workouts in the afternoon. I tried a new Youtube channel that @lislisa123 (thank you) recommened in another group that I am in - it was fun. I like the ones that they don't talk through the whole workout. Sep 16 - 141.2 👣📝🥗💪🦵💦🧂Sleepless night, ate outside my time. Still under on the calories, thnking my body is adjusting. I tried a new skinnytaste recipe yesterday that was yummy, but higher in carbs than I am used to. Perhaps that was it. Today we are getting the driveway sealed, so Greg won't be joining me on my walk this morning. Just Monty and Me! . I will miss him, the morning conversation makes the time go by so fast! Here is the Skinnytaste receipe - homemade Hamburger Helper. The Skinny Taste receipe uses low fat cheese, reduced fat milk (I used skim), and just a 1/2 tsp salt. Although the calories are higher than I usually have for dinner, the serving size is 1 1/2 cups. I was satified with a cup.

I doubled the onion and garlic (we like it), and used tomato paste instead of sauce. Also, I cooked the noodles the 8 min in the broth (it calls for 8-10 min) and then the second cooking time with the milk just ONE minute (not the 8-10 it says). The noodles were just right - in IMO if you cooked it as written they would be way to mushy. Next time I might add some canned tomatoes or some fresh peas in at the end for color. Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

Sep 17 - 140.9 👣📝🥗🫀💦🧂Nice night at bingo. Everyone won (something). Mom won twice - which put her in a great mood! My older sister and I each won a game, and my younger sister won the half time trivia game, plus the door prize. I came home with $20 more in my pocket! LOL! I did indulge in a bag of Sun Chips that was calling my name - didn't put me over calories or my sodium goal, but did put me outside my eating window. I am much better at resisting the sweet goodies on the table - but my younger sister brought a variety bag of chips! It's a good thing I left some wiggle room!

Sep 18 - 140.5 😁 👣📝🥗🕛💪🦵💦🧂Quiet day yesterday, other than my walk in the morning spent most of it at home - pretty much the same planned for today except a quick run to the grocery store for a few things. I finished binge watching Outlander on Netflix and will need to wait until 2025 for Netflix to get the next season. I know it is on on STARZ, but I'm not paying for any more TV! Now I noticed that the next season of Call the Midwife is on - so that is my next treadmill show!

Sep 19 - 140.2 😁👣📝🥗🧘‍♀️💦🧂As expected a nice quiet day at home. I did have a restless night, and ate outside my window - but still under calories. Tonight we are going to an open house at a condo complex that I have been looking at for a long time. They look beautiful, single level, pool, exercise room. This not the one - some have garages and that is something we want to hold the toys and this one does not. But I want to go inside one, they look so different in person than they do on the computer. I also want to pick up the rules and regulations - can't find them online and hoping that they allow you to park a boat in the complex. Greg is still holding out for a house - but we have been looking for three years and haven't found one.

Sep 20 - 141.2 😕 👣📝🥗🕛🫀🦵💦🧂I can't explain it. I was hoping for a big Woo Hoo getting into the 130's today (and in the normal BMI range) and instead I get a pound increase. Got everything done, and then some. Hoping it reverses itself tomorrow AM - my official weigh in day. I bought Greg (and myself) kayaks for his birthday. They arrived Wednesday, and we took them out for the first time yesterday. I could never have done this two years ago, and who would have thought that I would think it was fun. I should take that as a win! Never made it to the condo open house - too pooped, and Greg said since we aren't going to buy it - let's stay home.

Sep 21 - 140.7 👣📝🥗🕛💪🫀🦵💦🧂 Off to our monthly visit to Greg's cousin's house today. Catch up later.

Sep 22- 141 📝🫀💦🧂 A long day yesterday, over eating, hardly any exercise (I did get in a 30 min cardio workout when I got home), so uptick not unexpected. My goal now is to be on plan for the remainder of the month. I have eight days to get my goal completed and get into the normal bmi range. I can do it. I am also sad, my neighbor got a new puppy not too long ago. He is a 7 month old cavapoo. He got loose and has disappeared. It has been two days and hasn't made it home. As many of you know we live next to the airline trail, so have a lot of woods and wildlife. He's so tiny - 7 pounds. I am just afraid that one of critters in the night may have taken him.

    Week 4
    👣📝🥗🕛💪🫀🦵🧘‍♀️💦🧂

Sep 23 - 141.7 👣📝🥗🕛💪🦵💦🧂Extremely disappointed. My sabbatoge from Saturday caught up. Probably won't make my September goal, but "Every strike brings me closer to the next home run." Babe Ruth. I will get there - myabe not in September - but I will get there.

Sep 24 - 140.6 👣📝🥗🕛🫀💦🧂Whoosh - released last week's indulgence. Allyson has a small procedure being done this morning to remove two Chalazions that are on her eyelid. My plan is to walk around the parking lot perimeter while I am waiting for her - hoping to get some time in as I won't get my AM walk.

Sep 25 - 140.1 😁👣📝🥗🕛💪🦵💦🧂 Took Allyson to the Eye doctor yesterday, turns out it was just to meet the surgeon and for him to look at her eye. She had planned this appointment because she is on vacation this week and would have time to recouperate. Also, being in the healthcare field it is really hard to take time off outside of planned time. Needless to say she was very disappointed. But, luckily they had a cancellation and she is going in today - so I am back to her house to drive her this afternoon. I did get my planned walk while I waited yesterday - 2 1/2 miles around the parking lot. Each lap was a 1/2 mile. I looked like a crazy women! Planning on doing the same today.

When I got home Greg and Monty wanted to go for a walk, so took another 1.5 miles at the park. Then I wanted to watch some TV, so jumped on the treadmill for an episode of Emily in Paris. A lot of steps yesterday 19,460 and my knee felt fine! Also got in my strength training - I guess it was a "Last Chance Workout" day for me. And it worked, another nice Whoosh and the lowwest weight this month.

Sep 26 - 140.1 👣📝🥗🕛🧂Out most of the day yesterday, got up went for my morning walk, then did my household chores before heading to Allyson's. I walked three miles around the block while she was having her procedure and then I was pooped so just waited in the car and played on my phone for a bit until she was done. Then the hour ride home to her house, and the 45 mintues to mine - made dinner, and then watched some TV before heading to bed. Just made my eating window, didn't get in the eight glasses of water, and just under (81 calories) my calorie limit. I'm calling it a rest day even though I walked a lot. On the good note, the procedure went well. She said it was terrifying, (even more so than the lasik surgery she had) but is glad that she did it, and they are gone.

Sep 27 140.3 👣📝🥗🕛🫀🧘‍♀️💦🧂 Not the direction I want to see. Although I ate a lot yesterday, so jumped on the treadmill again to make up for the calories - just goes to prove that you can't exercise your way out of a bad diet. Had 22K steps yesterday. On a good note, go the 1900 mile marker on my 2,024 quest. Today bringing my Mom in for her yearly physical - I'll need to go in with her - so no laps around the parking lot today! I have been losing and gaining the same 1/2 pound for a bit now - it needs to stop! I have three days to get to my goal.

Sep 28 140.3 👣📝🥗🕛💪🦵💦🧂These last few tenths of a pound are giving me stress. I've been thinking a lot about my goal weight, and may just call it done when I finally get to the normal BMI range. Been obsessing way to much about these last few tenths of pound. Thinking my body is telling me I'm done. Mom's appointment went well. He blood sugar level was down and she lot 11 pounds since her last visit. He blood pressure was high - but they took it again later and it was good. No changes for her meds.

@deepwoodslady I am the same with my coffee. Just the other day in my BL challenge the question of the day was "What has the most profound influence on your mood (good or bad)? Can you use this knowledge to balance your day?" My answer, was coffee! I don't even count it in my intermittent fasting window. It is the first thing I do when I wake up. Waiting an hour would be a tough one for me! So glad to hear that they are making really great progress on the house. Can't wait to see some pictures. Hoping your DGS is ok - and will let you sign in badge of courage. Praying for strength! The goodies that your daughter bring will always be a part of your life - I'm sending you strength to somehow figure out how to allow them into your plan.

@cattherien How did your appointment go? Do you have a surgery date?

@koeitijesa Wonderful job this month, I know your goal was a lot more than this - but really - 2 kg (over 4 pounds for the US people here - I always half to convert LOL) a month is fantastic month. :👏

Slight rise in weight today; we ate out twice yesterday between our different doctor's appointments. Yesterday's pre-op went well. Surgeon said my cataracts weren't nearly as bad as the optometrist said; and he said my eyes are very healthy otherwise. The technician made my day when she told me that my eyelashes were long, lol! My surgeries are October 14th and 21st. Unfortunately, my light sensitivity will likely get worse. The cataracts have been acting like sunglasses, and he's going to basically remove the sunglasses. Ok that's fair; I can literally get "rose colored glasses" from Zenni to wear that help with light sensitivity. Something about that just really appeals to my sense of humor. 😂

@deepwoodslady I'll bet the exterior transformation on your house is stunning!

@ilive2walk you may be right about your body telling you it's happy right where it is. BMI doesn't take individual bone and muscle density into it's calculations, and so it has that fundamental flaw. Congrats to your mom on getting her A1C down and losing 11 pounds.

My goals this September are to:
    🍃Get outside and 🚶‍♀️or 🚴
    🍃Enjoy the season

    @cattherien I'll be praying that your surgery goes well. I have read that it is basically the most common surgery out there so I hope you will find comfort in knowing that technology has kept up and these surgeons know what they are doing and are good at what they do. At some point I will also need cataract surgery as well as surgery for the wrinkle and hole in the back of my eye. I hope you will share the info on the process and the healing. {{{hugs}}}

    09/26-191.8-(Trend Weight 103/5)-

09/28-192.2-(Trend Weight 193.4)- She brought ice cream with all the fixings. Irresistible.

Hi Everyone. This week has been a total write off for physical activity. With the whole incontinence thing I’m reluctant to leave the house. I’ve rested up so much this last week and am hoping I feel more up to exercise next week.

Tomorrow I have my kidney ultrasound so I’m a little nervous 😬

I did one with 5,000 steps.

    https://www.youtube.com/@IngridKick

Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

    https://www.skinnytaste.com/recipe-index/?_search=hamburger+helper

Sep 29 140.3 👣📝🥗🕛🫀💦🧂Our best friends moved to Florida a few years back. The Hubby of the group is coming to Connecticut for a week and staying with us. He has a lot of family here, so won't need to entertain him every day - but it will be a challenging week. He is a heavy eater and when the boys get together they drink a little more than they should - so it will be a challenge for sure. I've told Greg - make it a boys week - just pretend I'm not here - You do your thing, and I will do mine. Give me strength!

@deepwoodslady thank you. Today’s the big day. Also seeing optometrist because my eyesight is blurry.

I actually lost weight this month. But it’s just losing the same weight again. The lowest I got was 106.8 then I regained up to 110kg after a plateau and here I am at 109.1kg. It would be so good to actually lose 15kg - my gut really is huge. It’s so swollen and uncomfortable and could actually be related to my kidneys.

    👣📝🥗💪🫀🦵🧘‍♀️💦🧂

I did one with 5,000 steps.

    https://www.youtube.com/@IngridKick

Very tasty - and plenty of left overs for lunch, or tonight's quick dinner before I head out for Bingo night with Mom.

    https://www.skinnytaste.com/recipe-index/?_search=hamburger+helper

Sep 30 140.7 👣📝💪💦A little craziness yesterday. No excuses - just a off plan day.

    September Reflection

I didn’t quite meet my normal BMI range, but I got close. Down 1.7 pounds in September; 87.3 pounds overall. These last five pounds have been tough, and the last pound even tougher. I’m thinking that my body is telling me that I am there, so when I reach the normal BMI range will call it. No - it isn’t five pounds under the normal BMI, or the 100 pounds that I was thinking about, but by far surpasses what I thought at the beginning of my journey. It has been a constant struggle the past few months to lose just a few tenths of a pound a week - I'm thinking this is where my body wants to be, and I have been too hard on myself for not getting any farther. I must admit, I am really nervous about making this decision. I know how to lose weight – but how to switch to maintaining is a mystery.
So, this will be my plan going forward:
    • Get to the normal BMI range (as of today just .7 pounds to go – earlier in the week just .1 pound away)
    • No changes in my diet and exercise – if I lose a little bit more after reaching my goal- great – but if I just stay the same be happy with that! Will continue this way through 2024 at least.
    • Continue to log everything – daily tracking of food, exercise and other SMART goals. Instead of a daily calorie limit – weekly limit.
    • Weigh in twice weekly to coincide with the Challenges I am in
    • Catch up with the Daily Accountability and Hogwarts Groups twice weekly - Check in Daily with the BL group – need to start limited my screen time and stop obsessing!
    • Once I reach my goal (hopefully in the next few weeks of October – I will stay in the “losing” groups of my challenges until the round ends, then switch to maintenance.

On the knee front - I got a gel injection for my meniscus tear, and it feels wonderful. So glad to be able to do what I want to do without pain. I still ache in the night but take a couple of arthritis Tylenol before bedtime which helps.

I reached the 1,900-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging about 200 miles this month, as we speak am at 1934 miles. My tracker says that I will hit my goal in Mid-October. My second goal of hitting 2,024 intentional miles is coming along – currently at 1514 miles, ironically the tracker says I will meet my goal on December 31!

I finished the Wish by Nicolas Sparks, very enjoyable; I just started reading Heart and Soul by Nora Roberts. I am re-reading Chamber of Secrets along with the Hogwarts challenge. My non-fiction this month is The Beck Diet Solution. The Biggest Loser Group that I am in is reading and discussing together and am really enjoying so far.

I have two obstacles in October that I should be able to overcome. We are going on a long weekend trip to Florida in mid October, and then having a big 60 birthday party celebration for my younger sister at the end of the month.

    My Goals for October:
    • Reach the Normal BMI range and then maintain or lose weight
    • Reach my 2,024 in 2024 Goal
    • Transition to weekly Calorie Limit
    • Less Screen time
    • Alternate Cardio and Strength – at least 20 Minutes each day with one day off for full body stretch workout
    • Average 14K Steps per day
    • Work on increasing my intentional miles to ensure I meet the 2,024 goal
    • Continue with Intermittent Fasting Window
    • Stay under Sodium Limit

@deepwoodslady thank you. Today’s the big day. Also seeing optometrist because my eyesight is blurry.

I actually lost weight this month. But it’s just losing the same weight again. The lowest I got was 106.8 then I regained up to 110kg after a plateau and here I am at 109.1kg. It would be so good to actually lose 15kg - my gut really is huge. It’s so swollen and uncomfortable and could actually be related to my kidneys.

@ozdeelite I understand all too well about losing and gaining the same pounds over and over again. When we have health issues, it's just that much more that has to be factored in and there is absolutely no way around it. I'm so confused these days on exactly what I can or should even eat. My endocrinologist wants me on low carb to cut my blood glucose numbers. He started seeing me when my numbers were running at an average of 500 per day (90-100 is normal). On the 3 macros that means less carbs, more protein and more fat. However, my family doctor wants me to cut protein as it is especially hard on my overworked kidneys (due to the diabetes). That leaves fat. Because I have coronary artery disease and have already had one heart attack and one stent placed inside my heart, I can't have a lot of fat. Especially saturated fat. So that leaves me little to nothing to eat and macros that are almost invisible. The only other solution would be low-starch veggies to keep the carbs down but I have an eating disorder with an aversion to most grown foods which includes both vegetables and fruits. At 64 years, old it is something I've lived with all my life. I saw a dietician but they sent me for my heart issues after the stent placement. She tried to up my carbs to an unGodly number so avoid fats in my macros. In essence, it would have killed me as I was running in the daily 500's at that time and my A1C was almost 12 (should be in the 5's). These are all health problems for me. You are facing your own and dieting can be very challenging around them. Do the best you can, my friend. And do your research too. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to continue getting in as much exercise and movement as possible. Perhaps add hand weights too. Losing our excess weight is so important, but we have to cater to our medical issues first and foremost. That may mean the weight loss is slower than we would like but if we stay consistent, the weight will come off and our medical issues should improve. I'm rooting for you, my friend and am one of your biggest cheerleaders! We got this!

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 64 years old and from Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

**********************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME********************

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

09/29-193.6-(Trend Weight 193.6)- More ice cream because I was too weak to say no. They leave today at 7:00 pm and I’m going to make them take the ice cream with them!

09/30-193.6-(Trend Weight 193.8)- Holding steady is just not good enough for me right now. Not at this number I am at. I plan a very good day today and some extra movement with more yard work. I’m making tacos today (instead of taco Tuesday). It’s one of my son’s favorites but mine will be modified to be lower carb. No contractor today which was unexpected. I gained 3.6 lbs this month which is totally unacceptable to me. October needs to be a banner month. See you there!
