Tracey - What fun with the girls! But also hard work. Have a great Thanksgiving.
It must feel great to get your dishwasher woes sorted out.
I was awake in the night worrying about my sensitive bladder. Looked up Ramipril side effects, but it doesn't seem to be that. It does give me a cough though. I feel so much less fit than even eighteen months ago, though I was getting those searing cramps from the osteoarthritis. Now, even sleeping is hard work and uncomfortable!
But I know so many people have it so much worse.
Lisa - One of my problems, even in writing my book, is that I hate my laptop. I always have, even when it was brand new. I have a videoediting app on my phone which I have used once. Do you have a special camera and microphone? Or are you using your phone? I'm excited for you. What is the general area and subject?

Today’s gratitude: Mist never turned into a downpour at dog group today. Pooches damp but not sopping wet
Allie that little punkin bottom.
Michele, what is causing Vince to have to stop and rest? To be honest, all the decorating and undecorating you both do would utterly exhaust me.
Annie attagal for walking in the forest. Every day one step better.
Pip, he sure was (and is) a looker, but Indiana???
Rita I hear you about being tired of doctors, but glad you have an answer about your back. Hope the physical therapy eases your pain. ((hugs))
Barbie I’m amazed, and a little jealous that, you have enough sun in your garden to grow pumpkins. Well done!
Lisa bravissima for figuring out how to think differently about the video editing. Glad the Kindle was the only casualty from Corey falling asleep in the bath, scary!
Tracey I’m in awe of you and Rodger installing the new dishwasher, by yourselves, with nary a frustrated word towards the other. VERY well done! the Michaela and Aspen pic. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Heather so sorry to hear sleeping is uncomfortable and hard work. Restful sleep is so crucial for healing. You may be less fit that you were eighteen months ago, but you are coming back. So much better than before the surgeries. Coraggia! ((hugs))
Evelyn happy thanksgiving to you and yours too!
Decluttering challenge Day 30/30 Pile of clutter30-This is the clutter hot spot area tackled today. Piled all the paper on table for sorting. Filed and put away what was complete. Recycling and trash.Later, lighter, lovelies!
Two and a half hours later, remainder sorted and ready for work. Only started to feel burnt out the last ten or so minutes. Not yet proud of this area but feel more confident I’ll be able to finish up the fire hall paperwork and finally get it out from the house. It’s only been since June 2023…

I'm with you Barbara ... all that decorating and undecorating would have me heading straight to bed for a nap!
I'm struggling to get up the enthusiasm to unpack from our move.
And yes ... well done Annie!

Heather - Sent you a long answer over email about video editing. Regarding the pain, I think you've just not given yourself enough healing time. It takes us a little longer at our age, for one thing, and for another, my stars, woman, you've had two MAJOR surgeries in a year. Corey reminds me when I fall over exhausted after a shopping trip that I was ill for a long time, and still recovering... I get impatient, too, with a body that just will not get back to super-healthy as quickly as it once did. My mind's better, why isn't my body keeping up? 👀😂🙄 At the moment, I'm not specializing the channel, but might at some point. Right now, it's just whatever is on my mind.
Tracey - The girls look like they're having fun... enjoy your Thanksgiving! Remember, too, that you were off work for a long time, and by Thursday, you're tired! Even when you're enjoying your working environment, you're still working. Give yourself a little room to rest. Well done for working well with Roger and not tying up into a fight. Not an easy adjustment to make, is it! 😊 And I'm with Aspen. There's no such thing as too much cheese. 😹 And yes, you'll be able to find my YouTube channel.
Rita - So sorry about the back issues on top of everything else. So frustrating. Many sympathies for too many doctor visits in too short a time. Your head starts to spin - plus while you're trying to get one thing healed, you're trying to balance all the other things you're trying to get healthier. You can do this.
Barbie - I'm such a goober, but it truly never occurred to me that pumpkins are green first. 👀🙄 Such a beautiful color of green it is, too.
That very tired man I'm married to finished up in the bathroom, sat down in his chair in the living room and went right back to sleep, bless him. Slept out there until 11, when I woke and realized he wasn't there, went and got him and shepherded him into bed. This morning, he's still asleep, and I've been up for a couple hours already.
In between what he was working on yesterday, and mowing the lawn, he also assisted a couple times in helping me build a thread storage organizer for all the thread I have in various baskets, etc. I bought about $6 worth of dowels early yesterday morning, and the rest was already around the house. The spools that are on there are just for the photo. I still have to get it hung on the wall. And no, I don't have this many spools of thread. Yet. 😂:
Onward and upward, kids, things to do, nowhere to go, no people to see except my husband and my cat, and that's how I like it. 😊 Happy Sunday, whether past, present or future, as the case may be.
Love,
Lisa in AR

He was born there and had family there. He was in the process of having a house built there when he met me and was in too deep in the process when we met. He said had he met me sooner he probably wouldn’t have gone back if I didn’t want to go
When I first saw him I thought he was way out of my league and was too good looking for me to think he would ever be interested in me. Who would have thought!

We had a hectic but very enjoyable trip. We fat back early on Tuesday morning. I have been full pelt since then with unpacking, laundry and my groups. Thursday morning we had our boosters, and boy did it sap my energy this time around.

Good morning. I have a question for those of you in the US which I'll put in the spoiler, just in case it is considered political. We received our voter pamphlet yesterday. Trump and Vance didn't submit a statement. Their spot was blank. All other presidential candidates did, even Kennedy. Is that true for your pamphlets or is it just Oregon? (Who always goes blue, so no one even campaigns here. Really nice in some ways, but also frustrating if you truly are independent and want to evaluate all candidates.)

@Lannette and others that asked, I have had back issues for a very long time. I thought they had died out, but unfortunately, no. It is a hereditary condition from my father’s side. I have degenerative disks which caused the slipped disk/ruptured; arthritis throughout my back and neck; and an unstable spinal column which calls for the brace. I’m to have an MRI to look for further issues. I had a ruptured disk accompanied by bulged disks in my back and neck since my 50’s and it has only gotten worse. My intermittent yoga and amount of walking/stretching is what is keeping me upright. So must continue…..
Dinner yesterday was a cheeseburger, pan fried potatoes (in olive oil), and a large salad with vinegar and oil.

DH got up with a very sore throat. I gave him some Mucinex and sent him back to bed. I didn’t look in his mouth yet, but hope it is not strep. Called my middle DD, but she didn’t answer. Left her a voicemail that she has been on my mind lately. I do hope she calls back but not getting too hopeful about it. She is an odd one. Talked to my mom yesterday who is feeling much better now that her meds are under control. But, she always depresses me with her discussions. I know she is 88 and losing her mental faculties, but still hurts with some of the things she says. She doesn’t even know what she says hurts. Brownie is coughing a lot more and had another of those mini-heart attacks where she cried/howled because it hurt. I feel so helpless when this happens. But once it’s over, she is back to herself. These spells are coming more frequent now. Only a matter of time.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian gals!
Rita - so glad you were able to get in a long walk. I think walks help our backs as much as anything. Hope your DH feels better soon. It's tough to see our furkids going downhill.
Heather - wonderful birthday celebration. I think it's so neat you and Johnny live closer to the grands and it's easy to participate in activities. That new top is very becoming! Great color!
Beth - how's the hearing implant? Is everything up to speed now? I think I saw chance of snow coming up in your forecast.
Flea - in my voter pamphlet here in WA State, all presidential/vice presidential candidates have their statements published. RFK Jr. is still on the ballot here in the presidential race. You might call your county elections office and see if they know the reason information is missing.
Tracey - glad to hear you and Rodger got that dishwasher replaced without frustration. I have such great memories of staying over at my grandmothers' houses, I know your grands are learning a lot about love and life from being around you.
Lisa - some "older gals" are making a nice income from YouTube. I'm not sure the formula for when they start to become monetized. Seems like the ones I've seen are specializing in some aspect that draws and keeps followers and viewers, like budgeting tips, gardening, how to get a husband when over 70 , etc. You never know what people are interested in. Corey must have been exhausted to fall asleep in the tub. Hope the Kindle is salvageable.
It's supposed to warm up to the mid-70's today. Beautiful sunshine this morning. Leaves falling all over the place. My HUGE Sunset Maple is just starting to drop leaves; there are already quite a few. My plan is to pick up what has fallen by the end of the day, pile them on a tarp and drag them into the back yard where the soil is thing and just let them decay in. Maybe mow them in eventually unless the mower gets winterized.
Weekly Check-in Reminder (broken record, lol) - please get info to me by no later than noon tomorrow. TIA!

Allie ~ Good pics of SMiles and the little one. They look a lot alike and SMiles seem quite happy with his sister.
Flea ~ I didn't realize there was such a thing as a voter pamphlet.
Rita ~ Sorry about your back and about Brownie's heart problems. That must be super scary.
Finally turned the heat on!

Allie - I hope you have an absolutely wonderful time - I look forward to seeing pictures!
Terri - Good to see you back, I'm sure you're wiped out from the time away and how business you've been since your return.
Corey ate as much as he could handle of the applesauce that he made last weekend, so I took what was left and made a couple applesauce and honey loaf cakes. It's an old Rosh Hashanah recipe, very simple. No frosting or layering required, but it did fall in the middle already--possibly because it was made to bake in regular loaf pans, and I have cast iron ones. That's OK, they'll taste good, and the house smells absolutely divine. Once they've cooled, I'll slice them up and wrap them individually for his guys at work. Won't go to waste - they'll eat just about anything.
Other than that, Corey gave me a hand hanging the thread organizer, and I did a little reshuffling to accommodate and utilize it. One less mess, one more thing in order. I think I'll dive into one of my ongoing projects, see what I can accomplish. I finished the Christmas bags project, dithering about what's next.
Later,
Love,

Flea ~ I didn't realize there was such a thing as a voter pamphlet.
Carol in GA
Hi, Carol. I thought they were everywhere. We get two -- one from our county with information about county and local races, and one from the state, which covers state and federal races. They are super helpful, and we all read them carefully. I was annoyed because my youngest is voting for the first time, and I wanted him to be able to read statements actually from the candidates rather than relying on media or advertising (which, as I said, we get little to none for the presidential races) to make his decisions. The state pamphlet said "the candidate did not submit a statement," which makes me think it was on the candidate level, probably the state party, I assume? rather than the state missing it somehow.
I'm sure it's annoying to live in a swing state with all of the ads you must have to endure, but it is also really hard to be in a state that is completely ignored.
A little more about our pamphlet. We have four, I think, ballot measures to vote on, and the pamphlet is essential. It clearly states the measures, in full, and then allows anyone, even private individuals, to submit statements for or against. Reading those arguments from other citizens on the ballot measures really helps us see the pros and cons of the issues, again, instead of just relying on advertising -- of which for ballot measures, we see plenty!

As I was dusting, I look at these pics and never thought I showed you guys,
Lenny and I on our honeymoon in Venice, those are pigeons on our hands if you can’t tell. After we got married we had to catch a plane to San Francisco and he had these t shirts made that he surprised me with, his t-shirt said just and mine said married, awwwww.8 -

Well I have been reading along this week-guess I just haven't felt like chatting.
Vicki-I am sorry your job is ending the way it is. It seems like it has been stressful and very hard on you for some time. I'm sure you will find something-you know as well as we do that good employees are hard to find.
Tracey-you seem to have so much fun with the grands.
Heather-birthday celebration looks wonderful.
Annie-glad you got to Vegas.
Pip-I think you have a very healthy relationship with your past and your present!
Allie-both kids are very cute! Enjoy your cruise-I hope there is no bad weather.
Lisa-you have, indeed, picked up some energy.
Lanette-you do share some interesting stuff!
Rita-sorry to hear about your back. You are right, movement is still necessary. The brace may help keep you mobile.
Got Covid vaccination Friday. Have mainly just been tired-very much so Saturday so I didn't accomplish much (but had some good naps); did Zoom with friends Saturday due to one of them having family stuff Friday. A bit more energy today. Got laundry washed and dried. Part of ironing done. Went to Best Buy and checked out size of Iphone 16 ProMax. Went ahead and ordered it for in store delivery-didn't want it being dropped off while I am at work. Will pick it up and have them transfer stuff for me and put on screen protector. There is one brand you can buy there that if it gets a crack, etc., they put replacement on for free. Came home and ordered new case.
No work tomorrow. Taking Subaru in for service in the morning and then just a bit of work and house stuff.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio6 -
Exercised then walked around the neighborhood then to WalMart and bought gas. Got Vince to put the door in the garage so we can work on it and I can then clean Jess’ room. Vince wanted to do the sanding in her room. That can be done in the garage, too. The thing is, in order to do it he has to keep his car out of the garage. If it were the Genesis, I KNOW he’d be doing his darndest to get the car in the garage. As it is, the Outlook is out of the garage. When he has to get in it in the morning and it’s cold, bet he’ll work to get the door out of there. The only thing I can see is that he’ll balk at doing the other door now...which means it won’t get done for a long time.
Got him to get rid of the incadescent Halloween lights we had. Why he wanted to keep them, I have no idea. I said “we got rid (donated) of the incadescent Christmas lights, why are we keeping the Halloween ones?” So that is in for donation. We did get the lights out and I tested them.
Tracey– those pizzas look SOOO good. I like extra cheese, too. I just don’t like the added calories. Happy Thanksgiving
Barbara – honestly, I think the reason Vince stops and rests is that he feels he has to do everything at once. See, I prefer to do a little one day, a little the next, and the job gets done. He waits until the last minute and does everything. Also, he constantly feels that he has to rest his foot. He doesn’t look at alternative ways of doing things. Like the sanding, I brought a chair into the bedroom and did it that way. Why he feels he has to stand is beyond me. Vince likes to decorate. If it were just me, I don’t think I’d do as much. Then again, I don’t know that much about electricity. Hey, it took me quite a few years to get the “male” end and “female” end of the extension cord. But now I have it.
I have this bedspread that my mother x-stitched while she was sick. You can see how the stitches started to get “messy”. I’d like to get rid of it, but my aunt (her sister) did exquisite hand quilting. And I do mean exquisite. The stitches are so small, and the pattern! I wouldn’t want to just donate it to the Salvation Army. Anyone have any idea what I can do with it?
Tomorrow after bowling Vince and I have appts for our flu shots. He can get the RSV, I’m too healthy
Usually when I start work I fill my cup with water (no ice). In the past, in the winter I’d boil water at home and put some in my cup. Then, finish filling my cup at work. Since the water is cold it cools the hot water down Well, looks like I’m going to have to start doing that again (boo)
pip – thank you for sharing those pics. One of our neighbor’s dog is named Rocky. When I first met him I said “where’s Bullwinkle”? Their daughter who was walking him said “huh?”….lol

Heather - I find having one child more exhausting unless they are siblings. Michaela helps keep Aspen entertained and out of mischief, having either of them alone I have to be the entertainer. Jonah and Michaela I have to referee.
Sorry you’re having painful sleeps that makes it hard to get through the days.
Looks like a lovely dinner.
Barbara - you’ll so enjoy having that paperwork out of the house. I am in awe too of no issues installing the dishwasher. Too bad it can’t all go that smooth.
Lisa - I had one of those thread holders that were useless too.
Terri - welcome back!
Rita - I didn’t know that slipped discs and such were hereditary until my daughter had two at age 20. She is case study number 5 in North America for, at the time an experimental surgery. She had prosthetic discs and has had wonderful success. She had her surgery in 2012.
Pip - Great photos. Thanks for sharing.
Annie - could you schedule some visits to give you time for your decluttering?
Ginny - I absolutely love having them here. I want to be a very engaged grandmother.
I had a busy long day, I’ll catch up more tomorrow.

A drawer or two at a time. Dump the drawers into a laundry basket and carry it downstairs. Spread the contents all over the sofa.8
