Back and ready to rumble!

Hello, my name is Chelsea. Technically I've been a MFP member for several years but I haven't really used it consistently and never ventured into the forum, so I figure I should probably introduce myself. I'm a 32 year old cis woman living in California with my husband and daughter trying to establish healthy habits while I'm still relatively young.

I've tried many times to lose weight on my own, and the only success I had was losing 30 lbs for my wedding, but unfortunately it all came back and then some afterwards. I struggle with consistency-- I start really strong and then fizzle out, but I'm trying to break that cycle. This is partially due to my bipolar disorder, when I'm experiencing a mood swing it effects my eating habits and one of my medications makes it so satiety signals are dampened.

So what's changed this time? I swallowed my pride and asked for help. I met with a registered dietician through my insurance and we came up with an eating plan which will put me in a caloric deficit and reformat my meals. I've always had a carb heavy diet and while I eat healthy food, I eat too much for the amount of exercise I get-- which is minimal, I have a desk job lol. I'm hoping this support and the follow up appointments we've scheduled will provide me some accountability.

Prior to meeting with the RD I already took some steps. I'm drinking a 1/2 gallon of water every day and committed to parking my car further away so I get some walking in on my way to and from work. I'm also coordinating with my sister to go on weekend walks and starting up yoga again.

If I stick to the plan, I should reach my first major goal of getting below 200 lbs before my birthday in October. I'd love to meet people who are on similar journeys and make some friends!
