Kylia and Debbie sounds like both of you need to take a day just for you. Set a date soon and take it. Make yourself unavailable to all the drama. Go back and read Mesponsible. I need to do that too!

Some current situations for me are pulling at me to do more for others. I am willing to do some things that I can without getting pulled into their drama. Allowing them to figure out what they need to do empowers them.

Kylia I see the need to step in about the brakes because that is a safety issue Insurance also needs to be addressed too! Let DH know you are going to the back to work on this and someone (him) will take care of customers while this is addressed.

Lisa ~ Your blanket is beautiful. I hope you will be able to get it squished into the bag without too much difficulty. Undertaking all the quilts and handmade items for your loved ones sounds like big projects.

Barbie ~ Could you have dropped off Jake at the appt. and then picked him up later. I bet he hates being a burden on you and his friends. It sounds like you really hate to have your day disrupted.

:) Jake suggested that I go home and he could call me when he was ready to be picked up, but I declined the suggestion because Annie is anxious when he's not with us and I didn't want to have to drive home and then drive back. Driving is something I don't like. Annie will sit quietly or go to sleep in the car when I play music from my phone so she was comfortable the whole time. I got to the read the Louise Penny book that I was enjoying so it had lots of positive moments.

John has put up and decorated the tree! Hooray! All I did was pour him a bourbon. B)
I had a small Baileys with lots of ice. Is that a thing in the States? I often have it on cruises as it's not too alcoholic.
I put some lights on the mantlepiece, and I've ordered some transparent sticky blobs that anchor things down without ruining the surface. I hope. :o
Still got to decide where to put my giant silver baubles.

Tracey – evidently, replacing the circuit breaker wasn’t a big deal at BK. I’m glad for them. Tues. Vince went to get his oil changed at this place that is right next to BK. They said they couldn’t do it because they didn’t have any water. When I went to work Thurs I asked if they’d been without water and the store manager told me that they weren’t. Weird, right next door they didn’t have water.

Finished putting out the Christmas decorations. We don’t want to use any inflatables since we’ll be by Jess. Doesn’t bother me one tiny bit. I’ll post pictures when I can take them at night.

Well, the “callous” on the bottom of my foot is like 98% better. Every once in a while I can feel something is there, but that’s getting less and less. The problem I’m having now is that because I didn’t want to put weight on that part of the foot, I compensated by putting the weight on my heel so now my heel is hurting. I bet it’ll take a long time (hopefully it won’t be forever) to heal since you’re always using your heel and you can’t help walking. I did take the spinning on Wed. and you do use your heel a bit when doing a climb. Next Wed. I’m thinking that I’ll do a body pump DVD

Diana – trust me, if you repeated something in a post, most of us probably wouldn’t even remember….lol

Going to see TSO (Trans Siberian Orchestra) in concert tomorrow afternoon. Lynette wants to go to the show in charlotte in the afternoon. Whatever… Vince said that he isn’t excited about going to see them this year. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it’s in charlotte. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that we can’t decorate indoors this year. Lynette is borrowing a van and she’s going to drive.

Rebecca – I don’t like to usually go shopping at Sam’s (comparable to Cosco, wish we had a Cosco closer to us, tho) for the main reason that you have to purchase such LARGE quantities. Now if I’m buying for a party, that’s a different story. When Diana mentioned penpals, I immediately thought of you

Vicki – I hear ya about stocking up on butter when it’s on sale. Heck, I bought six, put them in the car, went and bought six more (six was the limit). That was back when butter was $1.69/lb. I still have some in my freezer. But my stash is dwindeling down

Lisa – beautiful bags. Carol mentioning about squishing the blanket for shipping made me think of those bags you buy that you can draw the air out of,. You know, the ones you use for packing. Why can’t you use one of those?

Made the last batch of cookies for the bowling lady. The rest I’ll probably take to Jess. Tomorrow I’ll probably assemble the sweets charcuterie board and other gifts for the bowling ladies.

Lanette – one year I got Vince an electric stapler and he LOVED it. When that one died, he bought another

Rita – your furbabies with the earmuffs are SOO cute

Deb – you’re so so lucky the cats haven’t bothered your trees, you have no idea

kylia – phew! You have me out of breath!

Barbie – glad you had things with you to keep you occupied while Jake was at his appointment. I went with Vince for his allergy shot today (the soup kitchen had lots of help so we were told we didn’t need to go today). I take my tablet with me. So many times I can’t get done all that I have planned to do!

Jenferbar – you have so much going on...breathe….breathe….breathe again, deep breaths

Just saw a sign at BK that they’re having some sort of “have hot chocolate with the Grinch” on Sunday. I thought that was the day of the BK “party”. Combining both maybe??? Well, I’ll ask A on Monday how it went. Still haven’t heard anything about the train club’s party that I was told was on Sunday. Maybe they canceled? To me, no big shakes if we don’t attend.

    Carol – HUG

Well, better go empty the dishwasher, then maybe put away some of the laundry I did earlier and then have dinner.

Jenferbar: Certainly much happening for you at this time. I will be thinking about you.

Carol: 55 years is a long time to be with someone! Congrats on making it this far! I hope next year does go better. I hope there are some intentional things you both can find to bring you both some joy. Food maybe...food is always a start!

Rebecca: I think I would call the dentist and tell them to hush. In a polite way. It is a drag when professionals go on and on about something.

Heather: I am hooked on Cas/Clutterbug podcasts. I listen everyday. She does cheer me. And my house is looking better. I am relaxing more because so much has been accomplished!

    Kylia: Beautiful wedding pictures!

Mo: I hope you got to see your Mom.

Margaret Turk: I did look at the book Breath by Larry Nestor and do try and inhale through my nose more.

Machka: I have Libby! I just looked. Sure enough there are magazines...The New Yorker and I don't know what else yet! Thanks for the tip!

I love looking at the pictures of the Christmas decorations and baked goods/sweets. I have wreaths on my house that bring me happiness. We have had rain, so one is down, but it is one I can reach.

I am going to a BnB Christmas eve that has horses. I don't ride, but love watching horses! Christmas morning, I am not sure what my plans are yet. On Sunday, we are going to the parade and on Wed we are going on a town walk and taking the dogs. So some Christmas activities anyway!

Tomorrow I have knitting and a Writing Group that I joined. I am trying out some new activities!

Just a relaxing day to day! Not putting pressure on myself to declutter. I know I have made good strides with this.

    Best,
    Rosemarie

Yes it was unprofessional in my book. The fact that they cleaned 6 months apart, and they state he had some plaque buildup, well how about you clean his teeth all at the same time?? They state its because they want husband comfortable and free from the pain. My husband says what pain, he can handle a lot of pain. I think its because if they spread a whole upper and lower cleaning over many appointments, that's more money in their pockets.

As promised, more details about my Thailand adventure. Put in spoiler, so feel free to skip if not interested.
I’m back and none the worse for wear after 20 hours of flying and a 12 hour layover in Hong Kong. I used the app Timeshifter to minimize jet lag and even though I couldn’t adhere to the exact times for light, sleep and caffeine, it still worked.
This was my first trip to Asia, and given that I have 4 more continents to go in my quest to visit each continent, there is no telling if/when I will ever get back there. Phuket Thailand has everything I love about a holiday:
    1) Delicious fresh food, especially tropical fruits and fish. Best curry!
    2) Warm weather, even when raining which happened for 3 of our days there.
    3) Friendly people who smile a lot and make every attempt to communicate in English.
    4) Beautiful beaches safe for swimming and snorkeling. And the snorkeling was extraordinary. Clear water, tame fish, colorful corals…truly the highlight of the trip for me.
    5) Cheap, excellent massage services. I had two 90 minute full body massages for about $8 USD each.
    6) Fun, interesting stuff to do.
    * We took a cooking class where we made green papaya salad and massaman curry.
    * Visited a sanctuary for rescued elephants where we fed them and walked them through the jungle. One of the elephants was 62!
    * We had a guided tour of a Chinese temple, a local night market and Old Phuket town. Learned history of the area.
    * Visited an isolated beach on a Thai longboat. These are wooden boats with a car motor attached to the back and a long rudder tail trailing behind it. Due to a government ban on harvesting forest timbers, these boats are no longer being built.
    * The Phi Phi islands are a paradise. If you watch the next season of the show “White Lotus”, it will feature the island of Koh Samui. Gorrrrrgeous! Also saw the site where the movie The Beach was filmed.

    * We saw the “Lady Boys” cabaret show. Brilliant!

My travel companion has very special dietary restrictions and allergies and I was nervous about her accidentally ingesting something that might make her ill, but fortunately, it was all good. At the night market, the food offerings ranged from the very popular chicken satay, to sushi, fruits with chili (yummo. Heather I thought of you), fresh squeezed juices, meats on a stick, coconut pancakes, a jet black gelatin like drink made from a root, and fried insects (no, I wasn’t that brave). I did test out the Fish Spa. Put my feet in a tank of little guppie-like fish who went to work eating the dead skin off them. I’m not normally ticklish, but my friend caught video of me squealing as the fish started their gentle pecking. BTW, the results were excellent. After 15 mins and a whopping $3 USD, my feet were as smooth as what I get from a professional pedicure.

Getting to Thailand from Colorado is arduous but worth it. The Thai massages were part of my self care routine which also included using the gym to stretch and swimming laps in the pools to work off a few calories. Took advantage of the resort’s yoga on the beach a couple of times. On boating excursions, going up and down ladders as the boat rocked back and forth tested my balance and strength. Walking elephants through a humid jungle was exhausting. But I did it! Didn’t embarrass or hurt myself, yay!

So here are a few of my favorite photos. Enjoy.
