Thank you, @Walela617 !
I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out since we have our Grandson every morning. He's 2 years old and a pistol!!

Happy New Year Everyone
My highest weight was 204 lbs but it could of been higher. I was afraid to step on the scale.
My weight today is 195 lbs. My goal is to take care of my health which of course involves what is consumed and activity. My goal is to lose a pound a week. So my aim is 184 lbs.

Hi everyone,
I didn't do many steps today. I just stayed in and kind of "lazed around". (I'll do better over the next few days.)
Although I ate healthy food, my calorie total was over my 1,450 goal (1,559), but I'll make up for that through the rest of this week; so I average out okay.
It was a very peaceful day, but I'll admit I spent too much time online!
Have a nice evening everyone - I'll check back in tomorrow.

Hi all! I would love to join the challenge. I am nearing a new high weight and need a little motivation to bring it down for a vacation in April and just to feel better, so a March end date is perfect. Gonna try to be aggressive and go for 1.5 pounds a week. So an end goal of 159 (would love to see the scale in the '50's again!) Happy New Year and good luck!!!

Happy New Year, everyone! Hoping that this challenge gives me some accountability and keeps me on track with my goals.
January Start Weight: 126.8 lb
End of Challenge Goal Weight: 120 lb (I know that the challenge is supposed to be 10 lb, but I'm not too far from my goal at this point, and I'm trying to be slow and steady with closer to .5 lb loss each week than 1 lb each week. I hope that it's okay for me to join here with a slightly modified goal!!)

Welcome, newest members!🌹 Happy New Year!🎉
@ScienceofTeaching, there are no restrictions to join. We will all go at our own pace, no matter where we are, as we share this journey.🌻
@ohmaykay112514, averaging 1.5 lb. loss per week is indeed an ambitious goal; however, even though that would require a 750 calorie deficit per day, it's entirely possible with a balance of reduced intake and calories burned from activity in whatever ratio works best for you! Then you can be back in the 150's by the time you go on your vacation in April! Best wishes!🌟4 -
Hi. Restarting my fitness and weight loss journey. My “baby” almost 3 so it’s beyond time . In addition to weight loss I have Pre diabetes and pre hypertension, and id like to not have diabetes and hypertension. Looking forward to being part of the challenge3

Hello Everyone, Happy New Year. I would like to join this challenge. I've only just come back to MFP and seen this post. My plan is to start again after the first weekend in January so it will be Monday 6th for me and I will weigh in on Wednesday the 8th. A year ago I lost 10 kilos (22lbs) but couldn't stay motivated last year for some reason and I have gradually gained most of this back.
I'll be 60 in June and want to make this a year of real change. I have premium membership up until September so will make the most of that as well as introducing other self-care practices.
Ideally I would like to lose over 4Olbs by the end of June, this would make a huge difference in my health but I will still have a couple of stone to lose after this to get to my optimal weight. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, struggle with severe back and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, and Afib and Sleep Apnoea. I know that even if I can't overcome all my symptoms, I will feel much better and more able to deal with them.3 -
Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to joining this challenge, I haven't done one in years. In 2015 I went from 220lbs to 150lbs which was a healthy weight for me. Well, now I'm back at 209. The only thing that has ever worked for me is cutting processed carbs so here I go again!

Welcome to @devorahna8492, @jambuel and @ChiaGnome!
@devorahna8492, My son is now 41 years old; so I really can't use the baby weight gain reason, but you still can! (My cousin was also prediabetes and prehypertension, but that went away when she changed her eating habits, added more activity and lost weight - I bet yours will too!)
@jambuel, you can pick any start date and weigh-in day that works best for you. I'm sure a lot of your health issues will significantly improve, even if you lose just 5% of your body weight. Best wishes!
@ChiaGnome, you already proved that you can do this because you've done it before. I went from 217 to 140 and all the way back up to 188 and now I'm 153. We're both living proof that we can succeed! If you want to cut back on carbs but you love bread products, check out this site: https://eatroyo.com/ It seems a little pricey, but I definitely want to try this stuff! (It has great reviews!)
Check THIS out!: I found out how to use BBCode to change text color!
How about that? I'm going to look online to try to find a BBCode "Cheat Sheet", like the one I found on color codes, here: https://cheat-sheets.org/saved-copy/colourchart.png
Tonight, I will report total number of steps and any planned exercise as well as number of calories for the day.
Enjoy your day,
💗Carole1 -

I have 2 NSV to share with you all.
1) my youngest daughter and I used to go rock climbing all the time but then life got in the way and we stopped. We have started back up this week we’ve gone 2x! Ooooo I am sooo sore 😅
2) I was doing really good going to the Y but again life got in the way and I realized I hadn’t been in 3 weeks! I went back today and did the E gym and feel really good. Hoping to get back in to the gym routine 💪💪
7 -
Good morning, everyone! I hope that you are all doing well going into the first weekend of the year!
NSV: I'm back on a good habit of regular exercise after not doing enough between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Other notes: Not back to calorie counting yet, but I'll get there! Once I get into the habit (much like exercise), it's not hard, but if I let the habit slip, I find it SO HARD to start back up.
Up 1 lb since my Wednesday starting weigh-in. I know that it's most likely just water or that I was dehydrated Wednesday morning or something, but it's still frustrating. So I might use this weight as my new starting weight, just to make myself feel better about it hahaha.2 -
Hello everyone! I started Jan 2nd (we have an annual tradition with some friends on Jan 1 that involved lots of lobster pasta and chardonnay!) I will be 51 at the end of this month and it has been a stressful year with work, kids, a house flood, declining parents, and menopause (TMI!!) When I get stressed, I lean heavily on alcohol. I have made a commitment to go beyond dry January and have a dry 2025! I have the opportunity to go to an Oscar party on March 2nd in LA, so that is a goal event for me.
SW - 164
CW - 160
GW - 145
(I am 5ft 8inches)
I have lofty ideas of all the things I want to start and stop doing, but in the spirit of Atomic Habits (awesome book btw), the one thing I am doing that will compound results is not drinking and finding other ways to manage stress. I will also move at least 30 minutes a day even if that is a short walk or some light yoga. Ideally two days of weight training, but it is hard with my kids around.
Looking forward to supporting you all in your journey. Remember, repetition is the mother of mastery. And if nothing changes nothing changes.6 -
Hello! Seems I always say that I want to lose 10 pounds. It’d be awesome if I actually did it. I have been in my upper 140s for a long time and would like to get back into the 130s. I’m happy with the Wednesday weigh-in. I was flying on New Year’s Day so I will begin next week. My current weight is 144.5. While I don’t recommend this method, my weight is down a bit since I was sick over the holidays.3
-
I’m in, I will try to remember to post my weigh ins on Wednesday. Thank you Walela617 for starting this group 👌2
