@martaindale would love to see the Minnie outfit!
@mari333a hope the aches go away. I'm usully like that, till I get to about 5k in then I loosen up...
@SwimBikeRunRepeat full moons are nice!
@kgirlhart easing back is usually a good thing. Trust you'll get better soon.
@Emilienewme I never did learn how to skate. So many things to do, so little time.
Ran along the beach front this early morning. Did a 10k but it was struggle with the heat, really dragged the last 1k. Only +25c but feels like 30. Coming from winter, heat is hard.
So nice to see the sun again. Now to just to move those ships outta the way...

Another short run today, but I did make it 3 miles. It wasn't a bad run, but it was really cold and I can tell my stamina is still down. The moon was particularly gorgeous though. I felt pretty good most of the day, but feel pretty tired this evening. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Thanks @quilteryoyo. I am glad you are feeling better too.
Thanks too @WarmJellyfish. I am loving your pictures.

A very short run for me today, but that’s because I went for a walk with my husband this morning before it got too hot and I needed to save energy for this afternoon as I’ve spent the last three hours gardening and boiling in the heat. I’m about to jump in the pool to cool off. #SummertimeProblems.
My sprinklers are having very little impact on my very parched lawn. Rain is in the forecast for Saturday and I have all my fingers and toes tightly crossed.7 -

Morning all
Got in 5.0 miles at 09"53.
Feel a lot better. I can still feel it - but a lot LOT better.
Took 3 days off. Deep Heat-ed ; Raised Ice-packs. Even bought out the big guns... Took a Naproxen painkiller one evening.
A lot better now 🤞🏽🙏🏽
@Teresa502 that little thing called 'rest'. Huh. Who knew!? Lol.
Hope those of you in VA/TN have it better with the weather now @daria0919 @quilteryoyo @Teresa502
Very picturesque!
I would take postcard inconvenience weather over just wet and windy and miserable any day!
Oh, and new shoes. Same brand - ASICS Gel Kayano 30s
Forgot to take a shoebox pic. Remembered after I'd already tied laces and was ready to go7 -
It may be hot, but that is a beautiful place to run @WarmJellyfish .
Thanks @kgirlhart I hope you get your stamina back quickly.
Nothing wrong with a short run, especially when it is because of a nice walk with your husband. You're property looks wonderful. I'll cross my fingers for rain for you too. BTW, that sprinkler reminds me of my childhood. We grew tobacco and often had to irrigate it, using sprinklers similar to that. Dad would always set one up so that it sprayed into the field beside of the tobacco so we could run through it and cool off and just get soaked.
All of you loving the full moon obviously don't work with children. LOL Just kidding. It is pretty, but I'm a firm believer that it affects people negatively, even if science doesn't agree.
Thanks for the shoe porn @tarun_yadavA . I'm glad that your foot is a LOT better. I was going to message you this morning to see how you were doing since you hadn't run in a couple of days. The weather is better here, for a couple of days, but still have snow covered driveway. I'm hoping more will melt today because it's not supposed to get above freezing again tomorrow. But, I am with you on the postcard pretty cold vs just damp, windy, and cold.
I'm currently watching the movie "Extraordinary" about Dr. David Horton, the ultra marathon runner. Anyone else ever watched it?4 -
01.01 1.5km 12min 7:59/km - storm
02.01 2.0km 16min 8:08/km
07.01 1.4km 12min 8:19/km
09.01 3.0km 25min 8:23/km - snow, lots of it!
11.01 3.3km 27min 8:12/km
12.01 3.0km 25min 8:12/km
14.01 3.0km 25min 8:12/km
17.23km
This went a lot better. Not quite sure how far I ran and how long exactly because I accidentally stopped my running app somewhere inbetween, probably with the cord from my running jacket. Best guess. I think I ran a bit faster though.5 -

I didn't sleep very well and considered taking a rest day this morning. It was 28F and I didn't really want to go outside. But the thought of not running also made me sad, so I decided that it would be good for my mental health to run. I wasn't planning to run much. I am still easing back into it so I told myself I would just run for 30 minutes. I ended up with 2.5 miles. It was cold, but it was also a pretty morning, and I was glad that I got out. I am feeling better as the day goes on.
@quilteryoyo My mom was a teacher and one of my sister's is and another is a school secretary. They all definitely believe that the full moon has an effect on the kids.

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately I had to take 3 days off to go to Berlin to get some passport stuff taken care of. It was quite a stressful trip with the 3 kids and definitely no vacation and sadly no running.
We did get some good eating in though, so @tarun_yadava, these pictures are for you .
We like to Arabic food a lot, so that’s what we went for - shakshuka, hummus, Arabic pizza, and sweets of course .
Now I am a bit behind on my monthly goal, so I went to the gym twice today to get a total of 16.3km in on the treadmill. It as icy outside and while I do run when it’s icy, I really don’t like running more than an hour outside in icy conditions.
114.2/280km for January.
@quilteryoyo I haven’t watched that movie. Was it good?
@WarmJellyfish That is quite a lot of boats! It must be quite a temperature shock for you!
@kgirlhart I’m glad you are feeling good enough to get back out there!

@tarun_yadavA glad to see you're on the mend
@kgirlhart love mental health days

On the left is Singapore Carrot Cake aka fried radish and egg omelette. The right is Singapore Fried Oyster Omelette aka Hor Jian in the local language and that little red sauce dish is spicy chilli. Love spicy stuff. Anyone ever try thai chillies?

Hey all... it has been FOREVER ago that I've been on here... I'll have to figure out the ticker at some point (probably for next month), but just wanted to give and get some community support. I'm active on Strava and part of the MFP MRC group, so feel free to add me if you are on there as well.
I did a quick scroll and think I recognize some of the lifers of this group, which is great!
I'm currently on a 259 day running streak and usually hate running on the dreadmill, but on the days I'm just getting a mile in to keep my streak intact, I find it is hard to justify spending 10 minutes bundling up for frigid temps for a 10 minute run. I still prefer to get outside when I can, but have compromised more on the treadmill. I'm just going to put down a goal of 60 miles for this month and see how it goes.9 -
Hey all... it has been FOREVER ago that I've been on here... I'll have to figure out the ticker at some point .
What's six years among friends. Very nice running streak! Alas the ticker functionality is pretty much dead. A few have their legacy tickers working somehow. Very nice to have you back @rusgolden

Nice running @yirara . Sorry about the technology glitch. I hate it when that happens. If I really care, I'll use Mapmyrun to figure out how far I went.
@kgirlhart I'm glad you are feeling better and better. Great cold run this morning.
@Laurz9191 That food looks delicious. I'm glad you made it back home and good for you, going to the gym twice to make up for lost running miles. The movie was okay. It wasn't really what I expected when I started it. It was mostly about his Trans America Race and how his running affected his marriage and relationship with his kids....all good at the end though.
@WarmJellyfish Love your walk about pictures. So bright and colorful. I don't like really spicy food, so that probably wouldn't be for me.
Welcome "back" @rusgolden . Apparently, you were here before I joined. Love the group. I think I found you on Strava and am following you. I'm Vicky R. if you want to follow me back.

Hi @rusgolden! I do remember you from way back 😄 That is a great running streak you have going!
@tarun_yadavA so glad your foot feels better!
@Laurz9191 glad you got your passport issue worked out. I just went through that last week. But only had to travel 20 minutes to the passport office 😬
@WarmJellyfish your Asia trip looks interesting. Hope you can enjoy it.
After 10 days I finally got back outside for a short 4 mi run. The snow ended last Friday and there is still snow in my backyard and in several yards that I past. It wasn't a wonderful run, but it was as good as I expected.8 -

I'll make sure to post pics of my costumes. It's fun seeing all the creative things people come up with for these races.
Welcome back @rusgolden!
Delicious looking food pics @Laurz9191 @WarmJellyfish!7 -

Morning all.
Thank you everyone for the kind wishes 😊
Got in another 5 today. 10"04.
Virtually no pain. 🤞🏽
@WarmJellyfish , @Laurz9191 always love food pics!
@WarmJellyfish - visiting Singapore in June-July... Can't wait to hit up their Hawker markets for the food!
(Though unsure about their Hannanese (sp?) chicken... Looks pretty unappetising!)
@Laurz9191 love Middle Eastern style pizza. Cheese maneesh is delightful! (Prefer it to the zatar stuff!).8 -
Good running everyone. Being a tourist here can be sucky for runs. I'll need to catch up this weekend.
@tarun_yadavA bring stretchy pants, the hainanese chicken rice is like Vanilla. Plain looking but rather tasty.
Android phones can't seem to upload pics so I'll have to do that when I'm back at a pc.5 -
@Scott6255 Glad you were able to get outside for a run.
Great running @martaindale .
@tarun_yadavA Glad the pain is almost gone. Do you think it was the rest or new shoes that helped the most?

Hi everyone,
My legs were sore from the gym stuff yesterday, so I did an 11.6km recovery run. Most of the ice was gone, which was nice, but there were a few minefields left to navigate . I feel like I am coming down with a cough and am hoping a good night’s rest will help fend it off.
125.8/280km for January.

It just seems broken. But this 'browser' technique is a workaround.

@WarmJellyfish that is a massive temperature difference! But I love seeing your travel photos
@kgirlhart I haven't had my watch die on a run but once it lost my steps when I plugged it in the car (I had walked for 1h and run a 5k already that morning, and had a total of 0 steps when I got home)
@Laurz9191 I have the same passport sorting planned for February half term, about 3h in the train with the kids to go to London to get a new one

Easy miles this morning. It was a bit more humid today so it felt cooler than I expected but still nice.
I was planning on camping this weekend but it's going to be too cold to be enjoyable. I decided to go out to the hill country instead. It'll be cold there too but I'll be in a house instead of being cooped up in a van all day.7 -

Ahhh cool. I didn't think of that. Thanks!1 -
Ok let's see if this works:
Bangkok skyline from hotel view 22 floors up
Chinatown
Food porn aka I run so I can eat.
Crowded lots of tourists

Nice recovery run @Laurz9191 . Sometimes the spotty stuff is more dangerous because you aren't always expecting it. I hope you aren't coming down with anything and you feel okay after a good night's rest.
Looks like you are doing great at following Amy's plan @Emilienewme .
Nice running @martaindale . Enjoy the hill country. I'm with you...camping in the cold, even in a van, isn't a whole lot of fun.
@WarmJellyfish Glad you and @chris_in_cal figured out how to post pictures from you phone. Thanks for sharing your adventures.4 -
