Heya everyone,
This is more an accountability post for myself than anything, but I'd love to hear from others who have similar goals. I definitely need some friends, It's so hard to stay motivated.
Starting weight/size: 116kg(255lb), AU20/22.
Goal weight/size 75kg(165lb), AU14/16.
I'm on day 5 of my weight loss and fitness journey and so far have come in under my calorie count every single day and have hit my step goal of 6000 steps 3 out of the 5 days, but day 5 isn't over yet! I'm mum of 4 young kids, so I really don't get a lot of time for meal preparation and have a tendency to just grab whatever to eat on the go. Also a BIG emotional/stress eater. I'm trying to change my mindset and be more concious of the foods I'm putting in my body. I'm already feeling a difference in my body at just 5 days in, I can't wait to see how I feel in a month, two months etc.
Planning on popping back in on my weekly weigh in to update

Congrats!
I’m an engineering college student working full-time also, so it feels like I do not have enough time in the day for exercising but I’m working on changing that and taking my health more seriously.
I do meal prep, but I’m now going to buy a kitchen scale, so I can accurately log my meals. I just eat once a day (no time) and come under my calorie goal. The issue is that I’m just not active enough. Since I’m a computer science/computer engineering student I’m sitting all day and my full-time job involves me sitting at my computer.
I just started this journey and am working on cutting back soda, increasing my water intake, and exercising more.
Good luck to you!!2 -
@TiffanyClark2025 thank you!
I totally understand not having time to make food or eat.
My kitchen scales are a life saver.
They've really opened my eyes to what a portion actually is and have helped so much with accurate food logging. I'd definitely recommend a set.
Good luck! You can do this!0 -

3.3kg/7lb loss this week. My face looks slimmer, as do my hands and I'm much less bloated!
Fully aware it's mostly water weight but it still feels good. My body is definitely appreciating the reduction in dairy, sugars and fats, and the increase in water to at least 1.5 litres/50oz daily.
I'm one of those people who has A LOT of issues with dairy AND soy, not just lactose, but continues to use it because it's tasty.
So far 2025 is going well for this journey.0 -
I have been doing meal prep on Sundays. I make salads to take to lunch at work. Dinner has been my nemesis as I get home and eat too large a portion. I have a scale but have yet to use it. How do you know how much weight equals how many calories?0

@Committed2selfcare I look at the back of packages mostly. I tend to buy salad pre bagged, so it has nutritional info on the back. In saying that, if you weigh out say, iceberg lettuce, you can input the amount your weighed out into MFP and it will calculate the calories for you. I swear mt family think im neurotic because I weigh pretty much everything so I can accurately log it. Dinner is where I have trouble too. We typically eat a large meal at night and its so so hard to control the portions.0
