Macros and nutrition list what does it mean?

Hey, so I'm new to this app! I joined because I'm planning a trip with alpine. I'm more on the camping/ hiker side so Fitness itself like this app and the numbers is all new to me. So can somebody explain these pages? It says carb 50% fat 30% and protein 20%.
Due to the type of workout routine I need for this; it's really important that I get a good food regimen down... and I can't do that without knowing what this stuff means.

all food breaks down in different ways. Carb, fat and protein are the types of compounds in food. Carbs break down the fastest, fat are the most energy dense and protein are needed for good muscle support. This is a vastly simplified explanation. You can google for a better definition.
the trick is to find what works for your body. Carbs will give you energy to start with. Fat and protein last a bit longer. Your health can affect what you decide to do. I have diabetes so I limit my carbs to stabilize my blood sugar. I am disabled so I don't have to compensate for that with what I eat but I find that prioritizing protein keeps me energized. combining that with fiber and I'm never hungry.
you might get a better idea from the food and nutrition board but you will still need to do some research on your own.

Hey @sassy13756 those breakdowns are what MFP is recommending for the macros with your eating plan. This is based on your goals and what works well for many people.
So the recommendation is you get 50% of your calories from carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein. Depending on what your goals are with the alpine trip (endurance, muscle, weight loss, etc) those may or may not work for you. Depending on how much time before your trip, you could go with these and reassess in 4 to 6 weeks and make adjustments then. Or make them now if you have an idea of how you'd like the breakdowns.
