All Treadmill:
2/1 = 1.2 mi (jog/walk)
2/2 = 2.5 mi (walk)
2/3 = 1.2 mi (jog/walk Week1, Day 1 of C25K program)
2/4 = 2.7 mi (walk)
Think I have found a good walking speed (3 mi/hr) and jogging speed (4.5 mi/hr). I was able to complete all 8 cycles of jog/walk the workout called for yesterday and while I felt that I had a hard workout, I wasn't completely spent afterwards. Not too sore today to keep me from walking. I appreciate the encouragement that people have given me here. Down 10 lbs from Jan 1, 70 left to go.8 -
I am excited to see some regularity.

February Goal: 125 miles
2/2: 13.25 miles
2/3: 4.02 miles
2/4: 6.27 miles
23.54/125 miles completed for February
The skunks are definitely active. I could smell one this morning when I got up. I let Pup out just briefly and never saw the skunk. But I did see one during my run. He wasn't as big as the one yesterday and he was black with just a small white stripe. I do think skunks are cute, but I don't want to get too close to one.
Today's run was pretty good. I ran 6.25 miles. It was chillier than I thought it would be. I was ok in shorts and a t-shirt, but I was kind of wishing I had worn gloves.
Nice shoes @Laurz9191!
So glad the inserts are helping @daria0919!

Day 2 of the week and strike 2. Have this horrible cough and sore throat. I sound like like Barry White mixed with Darth Vader. Was loaded to the gills on cough syrup so I can function in the office. Did plan on something short in the evening but that got waylaid having to deal with a homeless guy passed out in my building foyer so had to hang around till EMS showed up dealt with him gave him a shot and sent him on his way. Drama of the day. At this point, I'm drunk on the cough syrup anyways so called it a day.9

Morning all
Got in 5.5M again, at 10'16
@daria0919 amazing! Glad no foot pain!
@quilteryoyo glad you don't have to fork out for a new washer!6 -
ANyone upgraded to macOS Sequoia yet? I might wait until this weekend. Usually I dislike all the new "features". I remember when they changed all the icons from being cool to being comical on me... sigh.
Got in another 9 yesterday - trying to channel my "beta"howls superstar heroine. So 37 to date for the month out of 100 goal. It was warm and humid and not very conducive to speed for sure. Only another month and we change the clocks again so I will get to see more sunrises before work.
@WarmJellyfish OH not to your being sick and dealing with the passed out guy. Hope that it is "allergies" and not the start of something bad.
@daria0919 so happy the inserts and all that time in the boot are finally paying off for you!!!! 👏👏👏😎 So much for dr of doom "you will never walk again".
@chris_in_cal I joined your MFP group on fitbit but I don't really see any particular use of it more than here and strava.... Hope the experiment gets you what you need!
@quilteryoyo you did awesome - sore quads and all - with all those repairmen and broken *kitten*. I think my other smoke detector might be about to die battery wise againnow (put them both up the same time 2008? maybe) as I am hearing random single chirps about 1 time a day. LOL

@daria0919 That is GREAT news!
You're doing great @brnlow .
Nice running @kgirlhart . I do think it is skunk mating season. I saw one go around my shop the other night when I came home and I smelled one later. I've read that they only spray for two reasons...defense and to attract a mate.
I hope you get to feeling better soon @WarmJellyfish .
Thanks @tarun_yadavA ! Consistent running.
Thanks @SummerSkier ! You are definitely our BetaHowls! So many miles so far this year. If I were you, I would go ahead and change out the batteries on those smoke detectors. They are notorious for deciding to do the continuous call for a change at 2 am.

Hi everyone!
I took the shoes out for a spin this morning. I chose a rather hilly route so I wouldn’t have to drive far to the gym for weight training afterwards. The shoes seemed to work really well, but time will tell if my feet love them. In any case, my pace wasn’t bad and I felt good. The conditions were fine - grey, at about freezing with occasional drizzle- nothing to complain about with the right clothes.
My gym session afterwards was ok. I just lack skill and confidence in what I’m doing in the gym, but I’m working on that. I still have rather strong right knee pain on lunges, so I skipped those. My knee has generally been hurting less than it was 6 months ago, so I’m hopeful that the weight training will help further improvements.
@WarmJellyfish Sorry about you failed run. Hope today works better for you!
@quilteryoyo Great that you got you run in even with everything else going on with the phone calls and repairmen! Sometimes it’s hard to pick the right time to get out of the door.
34.7/301km for February

@quilteryoyo @Laurz9191 thanks
@SummerSkier its a respiratory infection of some kind. Blew out some snot and it was a nice icky green.
Coughing up a storm last night with a really bad sore throat. On every possible OTC med. Took the day off. Probably spend it sleepingNo running for a few days as it is an respiratory issue. But I can weight train and ruck! Wait, it's still -20c today...

The cure for the common upper respiratory infection is to look at the calendar, note the date two weeks out from when you first noticed the symptoms, then increase your rest and wait. Good luck. Sorry your going through this, but on the other hand it's remarkable what you put your body through in the last month.5 -
Ok, that was stupid
01.02 3.2km 25min 7:52/km - 10x 20/40s intervals
03.02 3.2km 25min 7:46/km - 15min faster
05.02 3.2km 25min 7:52/km
9.64km
Basically I put on my thick winter running tights, started to run. Immediate pain in lowermost legs and whenever I lifted up my foot on top of foot at transition into leg. Yeah, my thick winter socks were inside the too tight tights. I should have stopped and put the socks over the leggings, but I didn't. Thus this turned into fast running, followed by limping, by fast running again, etc.
Last run until Wednesday next week as I'm going away.6 -
Feb 1 – 10 miles
Feb 3 – 5.19 miles
Feb 4 – 3.10 miles (treadmill)
Feb 5 – 5.10 miles
Total – 23.39 miles
Two friends bailed on our run this morning because they were not feeling well. So much “stuff” going around. Another friend and I ran 5.10 miles. No skunk sightings but we did smell one.
Glad your watch is working @martaindale.
@quilteryoyo – It was black and furry – I was not looking very close at it! Lol!
Congrats on the weight loss @brnlow!
Glad the inserts are helping @daria0919
Interesting evening @WarmJellyfish
Have a good trip @yirara!

Pilates today. Officially tapering for my half on Sunday5
-
Thanks @Laurz9191 . I'm glad weight lifting seems to helping your knee. I am really not comfortable with what to do at the gym, that's why I feel I need a personal trainer, at least for a bit. I really liked the old gym because every day was basically a personal trainer day for the price of admission. LOL I'm glad the shoes seem to work for you too.
@yirara Seems like someone else on here recently didn't stop to fix an issue and suffered for it. ( @SummerSkier ?) Anyway, I hope any damage done will be all better by the time you get back from vacation. Enjoy your trip.
Hahaha @Teresa502 . I'm sorry that your friends are sick and hope they feel better soon. You and your other friend did great. I saw two roadkill skunks today while driving.
Great running @Mari33a .
Enjoy the taper and your HM this weekend @ContraryMaryMary .

11.50/80 miles goal
I went to gym this morning. Workout was core and bench press. Maxed out at 55 x 3 reps. I've got some work to do to get back to my best a couple months back. I do really like the assisted pull up machine. It may actually get me to my goal of doing one at some point. Never have before.
From the gym, I went to work. Problem is, I wasn't supposed to. I was supposed to go to a dermatology appointment and then work. It totally slipped my mind. I thought about it this morning before I left home, but was focused on other things after the workout, I guess. I didn't realize it until after noon. Thankfully, I was able to reschedule for next Wed and they were very understanding.
After I got home, I was tired and hungry and stressed, so I just did a driveway walk. At least I did something.

Our weather had changed to frosty so lovely sunny morning with no wind. The low sun made my eyes water a little and one patch of road was icy.

Afternoon all
Got in another 5.5M - at 10'256 -
I have tentatively scheduled a run yesterday morning but I woke up with my legs feeling tired and opted for a walk instead. I'm going to Pilates after work tonight and I'll be back to running tomorrow. I expect that should be enough time for everything to feel recovered.9

Hi everyone!
I “tricked” myself into running 29.1km this morning. I was so sore the first few kms but my legs eventually loosened up. It was really misty with low visibility the whole way. I think that was a blessing as I was running more or less by fields and couldn’t see how infinitely far I had to go. I did have a really weird run in with another runner though (spoiler).
At about km 9 a male runner wearing a hydration backpack like me passed me, going only slightly faster in pace. He came from behind and passed me on the other side of farm road we were on which was in a very isolated section away from the towns, traffic, etc. Anyways, I hardly ever see other runners, so seeing another runner out doing the same thing as it was kind of special in a good way, at least for me. It even kind of got me thinking, hey we are close enough in pace to run together. Well, that thought was premature…
About 4-5km later by my turn around point I saw the same runner coming towards me, as he and I had chosen to loop around a town in opposing directions. As he started approaching and saw me he pulled his neck scarf up over his nose and mouth, so just his eyes were exposed and then preceded to use both hands to shield the side of his face, and turned his head away so he would make zero eye contact with me as I was running by. It was so odd! Here I thought I had found a fellow trail running enthusiast, but apparently he was not runner friendly. I spent the next 5km or so thinking about what to make of it before I gave up.
Today my second pair of shoes came. I will try them out tomorrow.
63.8/301km for February8 -
Unfortunately caught a cold and sinus infection so essentially spent the last 2 days horizontal🤧🤒
01/02 - 7.02K / 4.36 miles
03/02 - 6.04K / 3.75 miles
04/02 - 6.07K / 3.77 miles
05/02 & 06/02 - 0K
Total = 19.13K / 11.88 miles (Goal - 145K)
Starting to feel somewhat human so hopefully back to almost normal tomorrow 🤞6 -
@Laurz9191 That is a really weird encounter. Wonder if you'll see him around again.
@John772016 I know several people with sinus infection/cold symptoms right now. Definitely seems there's something going around. Hope you feel better soon.3 -
You're doing great with the C25K @brnlow .
Thanks @chris_in_cal . I know it is different and I'm trying to acclimate. My old gym didn't have the assisted pull up machine, which I do love. And, today, I saw one of the other ladies from the old gym. That was nice. I had thought today that another part of it is that I miss the social aspect of the old gym. I'll just have to try to build a new social network at the new place.
Glad you had a great run @kgirlhart .
Great running @Mari33a . Glad you didn't slip on the ice.
Very consistent @tarun_yadavA .
@Laurz9191 I guess fog is a great way to trick your mind. That was a really long run! I agree, that is odd behavior from the other runner. Maybe he didn't want you to recognize him for some reason. Did you see his face when he passed by the first time? Love the shoe porn! I hope they feel good on your run tomorrow.
I hope you feel better soon @John772016 . That nasty stuff is going around.5 -

13.85/80 miles goal
I went to the gym this morning. Did dead lift today - maxed at 85 # 10 reps. I was able to do dumbbell squat curls today, so the legs are finally over the raised heel squats.
I was a little early, so I walked 0.25 miles on the treadmill to warm up before doing the weight lifting.
After work and running some errands, I went out and did a driveway wun. I ran/walked 1.75 miles at an avg pace of 12:58 min/mile. Avg HR was 136 with a max of 157 bpm. It felt a LOT better today. I did run the last 0.05 miles hard, but not really at a sprint. When I looked at the chart later, that little bit was at about 8:40 min/mile. I'm happy with that. If I could only do that for an entire mile....6 -
February Goal: 125 miles
2/2: 13.25 miles
2/3: 4.02 miles
2/4: 6.27 miles
2/5: 6.04 miles
2/6: 7.02 miles
36.60/125 miles completed for February
It was really nice running weather today. I ran 7 miles. I didn't see any critters, but did smell skunk a few times. It was a really good run and I would have liked to go further if I didn't have to go to work. I also found a $5 bill in the road. So it was a good start to the day.

That old devil a pain in the middle of my right tibia popped up, right where my old stress fracture was. I'm taking a day or two off.
I kind of shocked my self remembering that my stress fracture.... and COVID .... was five years ago. Feb 2020 is when my life started to be disrupted by it8
