@quilteryoyo glad your tennis was fun and you felt like you played better. It's hard to just play competition without practice so I don't compete. LOL.
@Scott6255 that is SO strange. I never run on sidewalks anymore and always run the side of the road with my unfavorite knee downslope. Hopefully another few weeks of treadmill slow recovery will keep the knee from being so witchy. sigh
@ContraryMaryMary those views are amazing. And definitely worth the effort to get up early I know exactly the feeling. great hike!
@Mari33a I did not know you were in Ireland! nice consistent running this month. 👏👏👏
@chris_in_cal you are doing well after your concussion last month. No need to push things. Consistancy wins the day. And I agree about the HR. If your device is not capturing the right zones it will not give you good info. Same with stride length I think. For a while my fitbit auto set my heart rate zones and I was getting absolutely nothing on my walks as to get cardio credit it needed to be over 110. I reset the max and it helped with the zones and activity update. My fitbit is my link to MFP altho I do use apple watch for other things.
@kgirlhart I detest this strange weather. I mean we have had sahara dust before but this wind blowing lubbock into Austin is awful. And a huge wildfire out west where normally all the bluebonnets are in bloom right now. I have seen very little in the way of wildflowers this year and the trees are pretty late blooming as well. The mountain laurels were all budding when we had that severe cold and even tho I tried to cover my smaller one there are no blooms this year. Iris are even late. My wisteria has started per normal tho purple and white ones so that is good. 🪷🪻🎴
I did 2 runs yesterday. A 7 and then a 1. Mostly because I am impatient at lunch now and just run instead of walk. It's cooled off and the wind has eased up and the air quality is not leaving dust in my throat and eyes today so should be good to run. Gave up on code for the tracker and just put a picture. I really like we can size the photos. On to the 2nd half of march!

I had a St Patrick's Day 5k race this afternoon. It was okay, definitely not my best. I was about 30 seconds slower than my target time. My pacing was off, which I had a feeling would be the case. I didn't quite get comfortable with the pace I wanted beforehand.
My hip felt okay, just slightly achy towards the end of the run. Afterward, it started hurting a bit. In any case, I think I need to back off of running for a while (again). My plan is to cross train for the rest of the month with activities that are a bit easier on joints. I'll reassess then, and hopefully be able to get back to running in April, though I have a feeling that a couple of weeks won't be long enough. I want to start increasing my distance so I really need my body to heal to be able to handle it. I'm a bit disappointed, but it is what it is.

It was much nicer today than it has been the last couple of days. I got out and ran 11.25 miles. We were still watching our son's dog, so I took him to the park again this afternoon.
@ContraryMaryMary That hike looks stunning!

5k today, followed by Pilates

Swapped over to a Spreadsheet to track. Just so much clearer and easier for me. Took the weekend off. Still exercised and got my steps in, but didn't do a dedicated walk/run. I had a blood test and docs appt this morning so I just took it easy all day after that.
@ContraryMaryMary that's an absolutely stunning view!
@kgirlhart what a cute dog

Catch up post. Logging 3 runs. My kid and I were traveling for spring break last week and despite my best intentions, not a single run was done. Prob not making my goal this month. Still got 20k+ steps in every day and my watch continued to place me in the strained category. I saw a comment from @chris_in_cal earlier about the HR zones on Garmin. I adjusted mine way back when so I know that's not my problem, but it does make a big difference. I'm noticing that sleep is a huge factor for me. While traveling I wasn't sleeping as much as usual but also was up and going all day, so even without running my watch acted like I was pushing really hard. Today I ran 6.5 miles but got a great night's sleep last night and I'm "maintaining".
Got caught up on 116 posts, liking and hugging along the way. Welcome to new folks. Glad to see a couple of you are slowly getting back to running. Hope the injuries continue healing. Congrats to those who raced while I was gone. Well done!

You're doing great @angf0679 . Yeah for shorts weather.
That's awesome @yirara .
@martaindale Sounds like you had a great active vacation. I usually have a harder time sleeping when I'm not at home too. You did great with your runt today. Hahaha about maintaining with the run, but pushing hard when you were walking while away.

I went to the gym this morning. I was early enough to get in a half mile warm up walk on the treadmill before my training session. Today was arm day. I did bench press (max was 55# x 4 reps - one more than I've done lately), converging shoulder press, bicep curls, and triceps press downs. I know I am right handed, but it still amazes me as to how much stronger my right side is than my left. We're working on it by doing things that use each arm independently.
I did a treadmill session after I got home. I really wasn't feeling it and the first mile was hard. I was ready to quit, but pressed on and it got better. I ran/walked at 4.5-5.5/4.0 mph for 2/1 min. Avg pace was 12:49 min/mile. Avg HR was 127 with a max of 155 bpm. I walked a total of 0.76 miles for warm up and cool down.

Hi everyone!
@tarun_yadavA Great job easing back into running! I know that is not your usual style ;)!
Today I went on an easy 10.3km run. It was below freezing and quite cold, but the sun was shining and it was the first day of the year that I used my running sunglasses ;). It was a nice crisp run.
219.5/300km for March.

Will hold off getting carried away for as long as possible. And continuing to pay for gym membership for another month. I feel if I'm paying for it - I have to justify it. So I'll go twice a week
