Good morning and thanks for the tweaks for the intro page @globalhiker and @SurferGirl1982.
I really like those changes.👍

AF last night (and today). Having a Rose’ tea beverage for 20 calories. Love these from Trader Joe’s. I have another getaway this weekend to see two special longtime girlfriends that I haven’t seen in years. We are all on the other side of 60 and have some nice plans for the weekend. They are not drinkers, so I am confident our visit is going to be both active and enjoyable as we catch up on old times. And, we’ll probably go to bed early which works for me!

Hi @MissMay and thank you for the invitation to offer any new ideas for content for next month.
I think of this thread as a safe space to give and receive support to those who are, or working to achieve a less alcohol lifestyle.
Maybe we might add to the new month opening statement: Prompt questions are welcome.Something like….For those folks who are comfortable, feel free to ask a prompt question now and then. This may be helpful to spark even more personal commitment and accountability during the week. These are meant to be useful for personal reflection.
Mine might be: Visualize yourself in the coming days. What challenges do you face and how will you overcome them?
Or, what positive changes are you experiencing right now as you continue to grow on your less alcohol journey?
Or, what has helped you become more successful as you move toward healthier drinking habits?
Just my 2 cents - have a great LA day everyone.6 -
@Michieb125 Great idea!

March:
AF: 8
A: 17
Jersey trip was almost half AF/half A (3/4). I did manage to really control myself at the wedding - only four glasses of wine mixed with sips of water over the 5 hour event. The wedding was loads of fun and the venue was beautiful (a repurposed mill in Media, PA called Kings Mills).
Got home yesterday and spent the afternoon doing laundry, etc. Today I had to get my BIL's tax stuff put together for his accountant 😖

I've not had a drink in 25 days and it is 25 days until Easter so I am only halfway there. Oy. It is getting easier though I do think about drinking every day. Not craving it every day, but I think about it like as in, "it would be nice to have a Chardonnay on the deck." but then I just find something else to do. It is not too bad.

All that business that got under my skin has left me thinking way too much, but I've managed to keep my head all day. I'm having one beer as I wind down - LA. Easy enough to keep it that way, the only hard stuff in the house is the Chartreuse that's deliberately been stashed away and one other beer that's not cold.

Successful in tracking 3 planned AF days before my flight this am. I woke up extra early and arrived at the airport extra early. Had breakfast in the Amex lounge and had eggs and coffee. Saw the bar in the distance and skipped the complimentary Prosecco! Two years ago, I wouldn’t have ever passed that up. Feels like I just won something. Have a good weekend!

@Michieb125 skipping the complimentary booze of any kind is always a huge win - Congrats!

The last couple of days have been challenging but I've stuck to my AF Lent goal.
March 1 - A
March 2-29 AF
1st goal: Easter Sunday, April 20. So I have 22 days until that but who is counting? :) After that point, I will take it day by day.

April will be my 8th planned consecutive AF month. Strangely, the spring-like weather, warm sun, and increased outdoor exercise along with dieting is - hate to say this - made me want a cold glass of white wine yesterday. Make that 3 glasses. Dealt with that by not driving out to the supermarket and instead cooking dinner and it went away after a minute or two.
What the heck? It could be my head has it confused with thirst. My blood sugar could be low. I didn't have enough protein maybe.
I have to plan to drink water or club soda every 2 hours and see if it goes away. I really, really want to be AF for April and make it AF at least till Sept. 1st to hit the one year mark.

@globalhiker So you didn't drink the wine, right? When I first read your post, I thought that you did drink the wine. If you didn't good for you!
I plan on an AF April also. I'm still struggling. But I can do it because I really do want to do it.
Our car was totaled from the flood damage. So we are now car shopping. Fortunately, we're getting a good settlement amount (much more than I thought). It's all a bit stressful. But we'll have a new car soon.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Yesterday was pretty good, I think…by some standard, anyway. I pulled two gallons of mead out to rack them off the lees and put them on oak, they've been in there for four months. I sampled them to see how they're coming along, maybe an ounce of each. Even through the young mead funk, they're showing promise. One's a bochet, which is basically mead made with caramelized honey, and it almost reminds me of a quad or barleywine. The other is a straight wildflower mead, and the floral notes are amazing - it was made with some random bottle of Turkish honey I found at an Asian grocery. Anyway, mead under a year old isn't worth drinking, other than periodic samples to check its progress.
End of the night, fumbling around in a dark kitchen, I pulled out what should have been a Topo Chico and when I poured it, it turned out to be an ancient Mike's Hard Lemon from god knows when and who knows why it was in the back of the cabinet in a Topo Chico box. I drank enough of it to wash down my pm supplements but I never liked those bad flavored malt beverage jobs, not my bag.
So….okay, we'll call it LA even though personally, I don't think it counts. :D
Today was actually racking the mead and inoculating the grow bag with Tidal Wave spores (the reason I was in the closet in the first place, to dig up the iodophor sanitizer), and I did pour a small amount of the Chartreuse while I was in there. I'm disappointed in myself for that, I didn't need it, I WANTED it. So A. Not even LA. :(
I really want to do better.
I can and will give myself credit where credit is due: I'm not sitting here alone in the dark and getting hammered every night. I haven't been hammered in quite a few nights, actually, and that's a nice feeling. I'm doing better than I was, and that means something. Small progress is still progress. But I want more, I want to do better still.

@globalhiker I just read your post and I have to say, the combo of warm weather, the weekend, getting our taxes finally done, etc. DID get to me and I had some Chardonnay yesterday. Too many glasses. Same old story. So my sober streak came to an end. I did 28 days.I wish I could have been as strong as you were! Today I feel dehydrated and gross. I know from experience that if I don't want to start drinking every day, I need to get back in the saddle immediately. So:
March 1 A
March 2-28 AF
March 29 A4 -
Hi group….
Not great luck with adding the intro page to our APRIL LESS Alcohol thread with the new changes to MFP, (Been tearing my hair out actually if you want the truth 🤬)
For now the thread is set up, but info page is not there You can start posting anytime. I will try to recreate the info page in my word program and then add it, But not today, as I am fried with trying.
New April link😁😁😁
