total cal 764I didn’t walk w/kirby because I had to meet my sister in law for this luncheon thing at 11 so I ride the bike instead to get more miles. The guy did another ride but I am still ahead by 5 miles after my rides and walk, I was able to inch him out.

great news- I told Carla- this is the best birthday gift I could have received today.
PLEASE take it slow and take care of yourself!1 -
Lisa - I almost forgot - great job on the half bath, wow! Chip & Joanna Gaines, move over for Corey and Lisa!
I just took a walk in the back of the property to scatter some birdseed. Discovered the treacherous Monkey Puzzle tree is dropping seeds. 🙄 If anyone wants some, let me know. I found a website that tells about how to germinate the prickly things, lol. The tree is over 15 years old and finally producing.

Went by the pool while Jess and Colby went to Cocoa Beach. The guy who is doing the bathroom came and delivered the vanity and tile. We spoke some and he really didn’t think it a good idea to recess the tp holder (yes, we’re back to this) b/c (and this I understand) if something happens in like 10 years and you can’t get a replacement, you now have a big hole in your cabinet, which is true. So it looked like I might have to have the tp holder on the wall across from the toilet which I did not want but it seems that vince is willing to go with having it on the side which is what I wanted. So we shall see…
Went out to dinner, I admit that I wasn’t good. But I did order as my sides the broccoli & cauliflower (which I brought home) along with ½ of the sweet potato. Had catfish, rock shrimp and scallops (which Jess took). They have this non-alcoholic orange cream drink so had that along with water. Then I did have an apple crisp along with ice cream. Now I feel “yuk”. Bad water and didn’t get a walk in. Well, I guess one day won’t kill me.
Supposed to be nice tomorrow, so I hope to be able to go out by the pool again
Lanette – older workers also have something called a “work ethic”. They don’t take a day off because they feel like going down the shore or something like that. They take time off from work only when needed. They also bring lots of experience with them.
Lisa – your bathroom is small like ours down here. OK...where do you have your tp holder? Everything looks great
Barbara – really, the lancing isn’t that bad. They do give you a local so you really don’t feel anything, that is, until they start to squeeze
Allie – so glad to hear you are back in your room. Now to take care of yourself. And you’re getting those steps in…..lol

Machka - I agree some boiling would help a lot. I do wash my towels and sheets in hot water every few loads.
Allie - Congratulations!!! By the time I’m reading this you may already be in surgery!
Carol - handsome grandson there. I can’t believe mullets are popular again. They were popular in the 90’s.
Vicki and Flea - Age discrimination is alive and well here in Canada too. It’s very difficult finding jobs at any age, but even worse now. I hope I never have to change jobs again. I found it difficult to just get the my resume looked at with all of the electronic programs.
Machka and Debbie - Happy Birthday!!!
Heather - I thought Edie would like to build the trolley, it looks wonderful!
I have not been divorced, but I would think that if you loved someone for that long and had children with them that it would be natural to hurt if you heard they weren’t well. I was engaged to a guy before Rodger and though I chose not to marry him I still wouldn’t want anything to happen to him.Rita - I love the fish meme!
Lanette - I think there is something to the gardener and farmers keeping dementia at bay.
Lisa - I love the half bath! So clean and tidy!
I was exhausted last evening and decided to sit and watch tv rather than absorb what I was reading on here and make notes.
The new way to post hasn’t made a difference to me except I love the pictures now. Also that we can add video! I just use my notes app and copy and paste anyway so no change there for me yet. We’ll see if I want to use spoiler though.
I have puttered today and feel that I’ve made more of a mess in my house than actually getting things organized. I put my winter decorations away and am ready for some Spring decor.
We had an easy air fryer supper tonight. I bought a frozen pizza rollup thing that DH wanted to try and I saw a recipe for battered cheese curds. Very unhealthy I know.
Tomorrow I am running away to Kaitlyn’s. I love the drive to her place and it’s so calm and peaceful there it rejuvenates me. Maybe her and I will even take a little walk. She lives on Leisure Lane, the other road near her is called Lazy Link.
Allie - apparently I’m really late posting! I’ve been checking in every hour or so today to see how you made out. I hope you have a significant change in your health now and you heal quickly. So happy for you. Hopefully your family helps you now for a bit.
Michele - I would really go with a stand one of if I were you. The people that lived here before screwed one to the washer that is beside the toilet here. 😂 that’s how I ended up with a standing one.
The Northern Lights were peaking out tonight. Early in the evening too, only about 8pm.I stepped out to take garbage out and saw them
So excited for my day with Kaitlyn tomorrow.

Hey Barbara - I have HEARD that a sniff of isopropyl alcohol will cure nausea… I have never tried it, but that was something I heard. The gal who told me told me she just tears open an alcohol wipe and gives it a sniff.
Allie - I am so glad that you are out of surgery and back with us. Walk, Forrest, Walk!
Pip - keep on truckin - you got this.
Goodnight, All

Allie - They seem to be taking great care of you! Hooray! 😃
I sent my ex an email today. Just wishing him all the best. An undiagnosed UTI can make you feel as if the sky is falling. If it was just me and him, I would take a plane up there, but he has a wife and kids, and I have a husband. I'm still turning it over in my mind though.
Thank you all for being so understanding. This is one of the very few places I can express how I feel. It helps.
I accepted a request from my favourite niece to have a look at a crime/mystery novel she has started. I hate doing that for friends or family, as it's all too close. I did tell her how difficult I might find it. When I opened the attachment, I was horrified. It was all overblown, too much irrelevant description, and far too many adverbs. 😱 While talking to John about it at breakfast, I decided that I may just be out of touch with younger writers, and so I had a quick look at some new women's crime fiction on Amazon, and read a few samples. The style may not have been to my taste, but none quite as bad as my niece! Fortunately, after breakfast, once I got into the main body of the book, there was a marked improvement, and it flowed well, with good dialogue. So I've emailed her back saying all that, but tactfully. Phew!
My friend L sent me videos of her choir singing at a music festival. She was in a lovely sparkly top, and they all looked as if they were enjoying themselves. I really miss our singing sessions from before covid. There doesn't seem to be anything local in the afternoon. We keep saying we will try the drop-in, one Wednesday evening, but I find it hard to drag myself out.
Love to all. Another glorious day. The sun is heating me up as I lie here on my bed.

Allie - you sound pretty chipper after a major surgery! Hope you body receives its new part well. Please be careful when you get home-you may need to resist being around the grandkids for bit-want to avoid lifting and the germs.
3 -
Congrats! Grandmallie! All is going well! I echo what Ginnytez says about being around germs and such when you get home!
Lisa: Love the. new bathroom!
Machka: Showed my son and DIL the picture of the ocean with your bike! We loved this picture!
Heather: We had a painting session this evening! The sky and ocean with some sand. It was a 40 minute tutorial. Much fun! I am continuing to declutter! The house is much improved!
I made a lasagna yesterday afternoon. I didn't realize it did not call for layers of provolone. It didn't taste quite right to me and I think this is why. Maybe it was the seasoning. I didn't exactly measure! I will try again and bring some to my son and DIL this week!
Together we got the pine straw out! Looks much better. There are still sweet gum balls to pick up. These overwhelm me! So strange to feel uptight about sweet bum balls but they really are unsightly!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Morning, my chickens, from the darkness of 6 a.m. in the Arkansas River Valley, now on DST,
Yesterday, Corey got up at 4 a.m. when Egg lost her kitty cool, and I went back to sleep until 6. Today we swapped ends… Egg didn't wake me this morning, I just was wide awake at what is now 5 a.m., and couldn't go back to sleep.
Allie - was so glad to see you post again. Thinking about you, baby girl - keep walking, keep breathing in that spirometer, it will get you home even quicker. Hope someone will be around to help you at home for a bit! Keep posting, you know how we worry… 😉🥰
Heather - I can see you're hurting. Perhaps ask your son? He knows his dad and his dad's wife well. What's most important is if it would be detrimental to a very ill man to have you there. Your son seems to be wired pretty well emotionally to be able to give you a valid opinion. Well done on tactful phrasing for your niece. Critiquing a written piece for a stranger isn't easy, even harder for someone we care about.
Tracey - Those northern lights photos are just stunning. Have a lovely time at Kaitlyn's. Sounds absolutely wonderful.
Michele - Corey recessed the toilet tissue holder directly into the wall in front of the toilet to put it in easy reach. Small bathroom, little floor space for a standing tissue holder. I thought and still think it was a good idea. My opinion on your workman's assessment is that he didn't want to do the work. If putting a hole in the cabinet is what you want, put a danged hole in the cabinet. What "replacement" does he think you might need in ten years? You can replace the entire cabinet in ten years if it's really a problem. The more comfortable you are in the bathroom, the more you will like the change.
Thank you to everyone who commented on the half bath! Corey and I both have a tendency to beat ourselves up, see every mistake in anything we build. Renovating this whole place one piece at a time has taught us to finally see what we do clearly. Never perfect, but always well built and created to make something we can live with that is pleasant and functional for years to come. It's been good for us to live with our work this time. We've always renovated places, then sold the house and moved. This time is quite different.
Ok, I've been rattling forever…
Love y'all!

Allie ~ So glad your surgery went well. I hope Tracy and your son will pay you a visit while you are there. And, as others have said, please take care when you leave the hospital to completely heal.
Heather ~ I can sympathize with your feelings regarding your ex. My mom and dad divorced after being married for 37 yrs and 5 children. They both remarried and they both divorced their second partners. In the end, my dad became very ill and lived in the local hospital. My mom ended up sitting with him every night until he passed away. After that, she took back his name and was buried by him in the family cemetery.
Rosemarie ~ Glad to hear that you are enjoying spending time with your son and DnL. Do you all paint? That sounds very ineresting.
Toilet Paper Holders: Our house is over 30 yrs old and the porcelain TP holders are attached to the wall within easy reach.
One More Photo of Grandson in the driver's seat.

I got a reply from my ex to say he is feeling much better, now that the intravenous antibiotics are working. He has lost a lot of weight and was practically comatose before going into hospital. Blasted UTIs. They will set him up with peritoneal dialysis when all the infection is gone. (Yes I had to look it up!)
Relieved. Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Allie, this is wonderful, and I wish you the best of luck and blessings. You got this! Can't wait to see how it went. You prepped for this and lost weight for this. Now, let's get that kidney! Tight hugs before you go! Please don't overdo it afterward. I will be thinking and sending positive thoughts your way.
