Starting Fresh: Food Addict with 175LBS to Lose!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Pia, and I'm just getting back on the wagon after previously losing (and regaining) 125lb. I have 175lbs to lose this time around and I am more determined than ever. I'd love to connect with others on a similar path—whether you're just starting out or maintaining your progress. Let's motivate and support each other along the way!
A bit more about me…
I am a food addict and I currently weight 350.2lb. Three weeks ago, I started with a glp-1 and it has been the most helpful tool I've ever had at my disposal. I never felt full before and could (let's be honest, would) eat until I was in pain and miserable. I'd eat in secret too. But now, for the first time, I find that I don't have that same issue. I know when to stop and honestly, it feels a bit like magic.
I've been on and off diets since I was about 8 years old. It feels like this is the only life I know and I would like to close out this very, very long chapter of my life by choosing health! And, well, I really want to be able to fit in some cute clothes.
I'm excited to make friends, share the ups and downs, and cheer others on.
Pia

I can relate completely. But insurance in not covering any glp-1. But I have lost 100 pounds on my own before. But here I am, starting over. This time around it seems to be much more difficult.

I completely understand that. My insurance doesn't cover it either.
That's incredible that you lost 100lbs and on your own! Starting over isn't always fun, but thankfully we already know a few of the tips and tricks.
I'm glad you're here! 😊

Welcome back!
Have you checked the challenge forum? I do think it helps to be with other people who are consistently active - after we take the important step to start chatting someplace like here :)

I don't have much of a hunger mechanism. So I generally eat all of what i make when I make something. Doing meal prep and setting things in portions before I eat has greatly helped me. And many of us here, me included. Have regained weight we once lost and then some. I went from 192 to 150 to 245 to 216 and back up to 238 now currently around 216. So you are definitely not alone. But this time, I will continue to use mfp once I reach my goal so that I end the cycle.
we can do this

That's a great idea! It sounds like something that would help me stay motivated as well. Thank you!

Hey @lolligagme
Seems to be few for April. Thought I would give the 5% a go that is starting later this week...
not sure of the details yet, but think they have several private teams in the challenge, and sign-up info on the main team page - here's a link to it - challenge page

I'm determined to this time that when I fall off the wagon the next day I'm going to get right back on it instead of saying I'll do it tomorrow I'll do it tomorrow and then tomorrow never come s

@lolligagme - some food addicts find more ease in changing the food for more filling voluminous food. IE - greens, broccoli- it’s still eating, but you can eat more for very low calories.
You can still be creative and be a foodie! I second the groups or challenges. There is a volume eaters thread and a greenie challenge group.
