Weight loss on psych meds

Hello,
So I’m currently having to take more medication than I usually do/prefer to do for my mental health. Unfortunately it is a necessity for a bit. They make me so hungry and all I can think about is food. I feel a bit out of control.
Naturally I’ve gained some weight and am hoping to lose it, but I’m wondering if anyone else has embarked on this journey with the extra barrier of psych meds and if you have any advice/encouragement for me.
Thanks! 💜

i feel it. High volume low calorie, high fiber and protein and a LOT of water has helped with the hunger. Although the water is a double edged sword depending on what medication you’re on as some also make you retain water weight.

Actually there are psych meds which can suppress appetite as well, you can talk to your doctor to see if they can consider those!

that is something I plan to talk to my psychiatrist soon- switching meds if possible. The sleep med I for sure could I think!
Thank you both for your comments! They were helpful!
