@AlphaHowls I guess that is actually what I do too. I've been known to mow in shoes that the soles are falling off of. I guess that is probably NOT good for my legs or back or feet or…
Nice running @chris_in_cal . Spring is my favorite season.
Thanks @SummerSkier . Great running and glad you got to play tennis yesterday. I hope your funk goes away soon.
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Sorry you caught the struggle bus this morning. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

On a mini taper this week. I also broke my 10k daily steps streak, dang 😕 one day I didn't want to go out in the rain (brrrr), and another I was just too pooped after shifting 2 plastic sea kayaks to the lake and hauling/exchange my winter camping gear for my summer ones from the storage, all the while rushing to beat the rain again. Loading/unloading two 55lb boats on the top of my suv in the wet just is sooooo unnecessary, especially these days when I'm like Samson without the hair 😐️ need to figure out a smarter way to load the boats.

I did not get a chance to post yesterday. AT&T was having internet issues that were affecting the whole town, and it was just a crazy day. I did get a run in before my interview. The weather was just so nice. It was right at 60F, and the dew point was 51. Sunday and Monday the dew point was 71. I ran 3.5 miles. It was a really great run. Today, I did a 7-mile run with intervals. It was another gorgeous morning. The temp was in the low 60's, and the dew point was 50.
Thanks for all of the well wishes on the job interview. I think it went well, but I am not the only candidate interviewing so it will be later this week before I find out anything. I planned to take my car even though the job is only a 7.5 minute walk from my house. I didn't want to be all sweaty when I got there. I had blocked my husband in the driveway, so when he was getting ready to go to work, I went out to move my car and it wouldn't start. Talk about stressing out before the interview. Plus, now I have the extra expense of needing a new car battery.
6 -
@kgirlhart That does sound stressful. I’m guessing you had to walk then? Glad to hear the interview went well. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
@WarmJellyfish Nice pictures! That looks like a great trip. Sorry about your streak. Loading/unloading boats in the rain doesn’t sound like a whole lot of fun.
I had 10x 30 minute intervals this morning plus warm up/ cool down to get in some final speedwork before the HM. I’ll be taking it easy from now to Sunday. I just found out my husband won’t be here on the weekend (great planning), so fingers crossed I can find someone to watch my 5 year old during the race or there will be no race for me. I have already arranged places for the older kids to go after their race while I’m running. I’ll try to figure something out ;).
138.3/270km for May.

@kgirlhart Great running. Sorry about the car battery. It seems things like that happen at the worst times. I hope you get good news from your interview.
Great running @Laurz9191 . I hope you can figure out a place for your 5 year old to go so you can race.
That sounds like a lot of work @WarmJellyfish . Sorry about ending your streak.

I was supposed to play tennis this morning, but it stormed last night so the courts would've been wet and unplayable. I had already gotten up early, so did a treadmill run. The run/walk portion was 3/1 min at 4.5-5.1/4.0 and ended at 6.0 mph. I think I wrote down the stats from the treadmill wrong, because my paces were off. My guess is that I went a total of 3.1 miles and wrote it down wrong. But, I'll go with the 3 miles which means my pace for the 2.30 miles was 13:09 min/mile. Avg HR was 130 with a max of 155 bpm.
I went to the gym today. I did deadlift - 45#, 95#, and two sets at 105# for 10 reps each. I had a PR for my assisted pull ups - 70# assist x 10, then 80# assist x 12 and 10 reps. Bench press was 45#, 55#, and 45# for 10, 5.5, and 10 reps. The 5 ish reps at 55# is the best I have done at this gym. Also did kettle bell swings, TRX rows, leg press, Glute machine, and leg extensions.

A mid-week long run today - my usual Thursday 10k although this time it was actually 11.4. My right knee started to niggle on the steep downhill of the 8-10k point but I think it was just a bit fatigued with this being my 4th day in a row (I knew there was a reason I didn’t run streak). Rest day tomorrow!

Had a long day yesterday with a hospital appointment in Dublin for my son. The good news is the test showed "not enough abnormal signs" for it to be chronic pancreatitis but still no solution to his pain. I didn't have a run planned but when we got homeit would help me unwind and Yes it did.
6 -
Happy Birthday @tarun_yadavA I hope you and your fam have a great day!
2 -
@Mari33a I hope that's progress, for me ruling stuff out is relieving. Here's hoping you are all able to resolve it completely, and soon.
4 -
Another beautiful morning for a run. The temp was around 52F and it was a little, dare I say, chilly! I only had time for 3 miles today as I had to take my mom to an ortho appointment.
I’m jealous of your weekend backpacking trip @WarmJellyfish. Thanks for the photos! I haven’t made it out for an overnighter yet this year. It will probably be late June before I have the chance but the weather will be so nice for sleeping outside then.
President Johnson’s house looks like a great place to relax on the front porch @quilteryoyo. Congrats on the pullup PR!
Nice running streak @SummerSkier! I get in those funks too. We will be here whenever it passes.
I hope the child care situation works out for Sunday @Laurz9191.
HaPpY BiRtHdAy @tarun_yadavA!🎂🎈
Glad for the good news for your son @Mari33a. Hope they can find the cause soon and give him some relief from the pain.

Hoping we'll get back to spring temps by Sunday!

So I did Pilates again today, followed by a short run as is seemed to help with the DOMS yesterday.

I ran a 7-mile threshold run this morning. It was a super sweaty run. The temps were back in the 70's and low 80's and the dew point was back to 70 again. The last couple of days were nice, but summer is definitely on the way.
When I got home, I had a call from the HR department at the hospital, and I was offered the job. I haven't gotten the paperwork done yet, but I should be starting the first week of June.

It was a very low on energy run yesterday evening. A neighbour asked me if I was training for something. I told them I run to help keep my weight under control & de-stress but they didn’t seem to understand. 😅
@tarun_yadavA Happy Birthday!
@kgirlhart Congratulations, I’m thrilled for you!

Awesome news @kgirlhart 😃

WOW! All good news today. @kgirlhart that sounds awesome. I hope this job is an upgrade for you and you have a wonderful new boss. Based on what I know about you from over the years I cannot imagine anyone NOT hiring you. 👏👏👏
Yuppers we had ONE nice day with dewpoint in the 50's now back to summer. Altho the weather has been very upset and a lot of severe POP up storms. I think we were in the middle of one yesterday evening. But nothing on radar but lots of lightning and long long long rolling thunder.

We haven't had any rain in 6 weeks but there is a lot forecast from this afternoon onwards so got out this morning to run before it arrives. There are lots of birds flying around and its eerily calm so there is definitely a change coming.
Thanks for the well wishes for my son. It is a relief it's not chronic pancreatitis, they just seem to want to treat him with pain meds which seem ridiculous to me. Its a patch you up and send you off sort of attitude.

Today's run was fantastic! It was warm, but the breeze was nice, and I just felt so good. I knew that I was stressed out, but I felt so light and free today. I ran 7.25 miles again. Once I start back to work, I won't have time for 7 milers every day, so I might as well run them while I can.
