Good morning! It was a little chilly when I headed out for my run this morning - 41F! But, the sun was shining and it was a glorious morning! I ran 6.25 miles. Heading to a graduation luncheon shortly. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

@tarun_yadavA - Enjoy the lunch celebration. I have no doubt your will reach your peak fitness goals!

Hope the rain stops for a few days for you @John772016. I admire your treadmill dedication.

Running at the lake sounds lovely @chris_in_cal !

dang the spammers are following us right to the message boards now! 🧐😏

I woke up this morning and SWEAR to god, I could not put any weight on my left ankle without angry pain (like a sprain). When my eyes got open enough to accept light and I looked down I would have expected to see an angry swollen sight. Nope. Since this is the 2nd time in a couple months this happened to me I decided that my lower back was more a suspect than the ankle itself and moving around more would help. 4 miles at a slightly less than boyfriend pace but by the time I finished ankle completely normal again. I am starting to suspect that once you get past a certain age, it takes a lot bravery to just "push thru".

hey maybe that is a keyword we used which brought out the spammer?

ANyway 134 miles month to date and 1018 year to date. I feel my mileage will start lagging a little with the higher dew point morning because I don't have enough SWEAT in my body to go further and I always forget to take the saltabs with me.

Congratulations @kgirlhart!! I'm so happy for you! I'm sure that's a huge stress relief.

@SummerSkier That's weird about your ankle. Hope that doesn't become a regular thing. I love that bf/gf pace is working it's way into the vernacular here! And, yes, it's fully salt tab season. It got hot fast!

Great running over the last few days everyone. I liked and hugged my way through a few pages.

I'm camping this long weekend; probably the last time until fall. It's pretty warm this weekend but still nice enough to hang around outside a bit. Because it was last minute, the state parks and national forests were all booked up but I remembered a Houston city park that has camping! The Lake Houston Wilderness Park is a 4800 acre former State Park now operated by the city of Houston. I ran a trail race here a few years ago but only recently learned they have a small campground. It seems to be a well kept secret because less than 2 weeks before memorial Day only a couple of spots were reserved.

I planned a trail run this morning but only a couple minutes into the trail I was swarmed by these biting flies that have only recently become an issue. I have been chased and bitten a few times in the wooded areas near my house too. They aren't horse flies. They kind of look like smaller dirt daubers (not sure those are called the same thing everywhere) and they are persistent! They hurt and leave a large bruising welt if they manage to bite you. They will run with me and latch on if I slow down at all. I really hate these things and predict they will keep me out of the woods for a while. It's just not worth the stress of fighting them off.

Luckily the roads at this park are dirt/gravel and pretty nice to run on because I only packed trail shoes. The flies seem to prefer the woods and aren't an issue in more open areas. Because I hadn't mapped out a road run, I winged it and ended up at 4.6 miles. Figured that was good enough and I'll probably just do the same tomorrow. I want these things to die off and never return. They are ruining trails for me right now. I was covered in bug spray and not even sweating when they got me this morning.

Any of you know what these might be?

    Nice runs @kgirlhart, @chris_in_cal, @tarun_yadavA, @Teresa502, @Mari33a, @SummerSkier, & @martaindale!

On other threads spammer guy basically described what he's looking for in a partner (I think?) &/or how his job is so risky, as below…., "….we are always on the high battle field ground defense! But am down for the challenge of being able to archive what I never relented on!"

    Huh?

I ran again today after a rather bad uti (main symptom was crippling tiredness) and a 5 days trip abroad where I walked a bit. Winner was walking through 4 towns in a day, first another walk through the town where I'd spent the night, then on by bus and explored the terminal bus station town when a thunderstorm and torrential rains came by, moved to a different town with just a mild drizzle by train, and then to the town where I'd spent the next two nights. :D Anyway, back to running I guess even if I won't reach my running goal for this month.

Sunday long run today - just the local 11.5km loop but it felt longer today, mainly because my hips/back were talking to me. Good to get it done, and now for a lazy afternoon with my book (and probably some yoga too!).

I have one non-MFP Strava friend...a dude. I've never met him but he seems to live in my neighborhood and he runs a lot around here.

This morning the dude just woke up, laced'em up, and ran a 50km loop around San Diego. Wow. I am so impressed. That's seems superhuman. At an 8:30/mi pace too.

@martaindale google black flies. They are near water. May=June. Nasty suckers. Wear lighter clothes but not sure anything helps. Used to see them at the barn. When I was trail riding with friends you always tried to be first as the flies tended to go to the 2nd in line. LOL.

WoW! @tarun_yadavA great running this weekend! thanks for giving us a new fun term to describe our runs.

My ankle was completely well by the end of my run. I know it's my back because I was pretty "active" playing tennis but not much to do except keep on keepin on.

@John772016 the spammer posted here and I flagged it so it's gone now but yeah wtf is that just a computer compilation of buzx words? 😏

@quilteryoyo hope you are having a good weekend! I am trying to get myself motivated to do some chores around the house. Usually if I make a "list" I will get it done.

Got in a 4 miler yesterday after a 1 mile on Friday just to streak. Still over 7 avg per day for the year but dropping pretty fast. I AM going to remember to take some tabs with me today.

@AlphaHowls you will need to add the "boyfriend run" to next months opener. I like it. Using it on Strava as well.
