I ran 5 miles before work yesterday. No run for me today as I’m traveling to Colorado for business. Planning to find some time to get a run in tomorrow. Wi-Fi on the plane gave me an opportunity to catch up here. Great running everyone!

No run yesterday as the weather was stormy and thought my feet could do with the rest. I did extra on bike instead though. Had a good run this evening and only need 2 miles tomorrow to hit 80 for the month
@chris_in_cal I understood what you meant on the boyfriend/girlfriend run 😅
@quilteryoyo Hope you can get some proper sleep tonight
@john772016 Thanks John. I’ve had a good month.

Enjoy your business trip @Teresa502 . Colorado is one of my favorite states to visit.
You did great this month, all things considered @yirara .
@Mari33a Nice running. I slept a bit better last night, but I do hope tonight is even better.
Love the doggie pictures @swenson19d . MFP did an update and now we can't put pictures under a spoiler. You can make them smaller if you wish, by clicking on the middle button, I think, after you post the pictures. You can make it small, medium, or large. We're still hoping they will fix it so we can spoiler pictures again.

I did two treadmill sessions today to try to give myself the possibility of making my 80 mile goal tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
I forgot to take my Magnesium supplement last night, so was having heart palpatations this morning. I had actually decided to do a short treadmill walk, but once I got started, it wasn't too bad. I did so a really slow, easy run though. This morning was 1 mile total walking for warm up and cool down and 4 miles of run/walk - I was trying to keep my HR between 120 and 130 bpm, but it went up easily today, so tried for under 140 and then just gave up at the end. I was running/walking for various times at 4.5 and 4.7/4.0 mph. Ended at 6.0 mph. Avg pace was 13:56 min/mile. Avg HR was 132 with a max of 156 bpm.
I decided if I wanted any chance of making 80 miles, I'd need to do more tonight. I almost talked myself out of it, but I'm glad I didn't. I walked 2 miles while watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, at 3.8 mph.

It's after midnight, so I guess I am posting yesterday's run. It was probably my last weekday 7-miler for a while since I am starting my new job on Monday. The weather was really nice. This run puts me at 190 miles for the month which is my highest monthly mileage ever.
Your dogs are adorable @swenson19d .
Congratulations to all who made their goals and all who tried. See you all over in the June thread.

Morning all.

@chris_in_cal hey I knew what you meant by the boyfriend pace. I was just pulling your leg (as they say). You’ve been having a really good set of runs since recovering from your surgery. Great job on starting your 5K training for your 4th of July race.
@tarun_yadavA nice job on exceeding your May running goal!
@kgirlhart you really burned some rubber this month! Fantastic job on the mules!!
@swenson19d love the pups!
@Teresa502 hope you’re enjoying Colorado! Beautiful state!
Great month of running @Mari33a!
Great job to all of you for your awesome mileage this month! See you all in the June thread!
73.9 run/walk/step miles for me this month.

So glad to see you back @swenson19d . I’m sorry to hear all you have been through the last few years and hope things will turn around for you this year. Keep on keeping on!
@chris_in_cal I know what you mean with the media breaks. I’ve been feeling kind of overwhelmed at work and needing to take some time away from social media because I was struggling to keep up and just not feeling particularly chatty. I came in today to 91 posts!
@summerskiier Yep, black flies. I looked that up and that’s exactly what they are. It’s weird that I’m seeing them around here for the first time this year. I’ve been running outside in summer for years and lived here even longer and not had an issue until this year. I occasionally see horse flies and @WarmJellyfish yes, they really hurt. But luckily those aren’t super persistent. These black flies will chase you and I’m over them. It hasn’t been particularly wet this spring/summer so I wonder what caused them to pop up.

Well yesterday was most likely my last day running for a few weeks. We shall take it day by day. I started a run after the rainy morning about noon and tripped on a rock a qtr mile down the road. A group of neighbors were gathered a few feet up on the sidewalk so it probably looked spectacular! Anyway, I did the flailing arms and legs and even cut my left shin with my right foot slightly and managed to stay upright but I bruised the side/outside/top of my foot pretty darn good. I tried to run it off at first but quickly realized it was going to be something more significant and walk another qtr mile back to the house. It took quite a long while for the bruise to come up and while it was happening I thought it was my ankle and not my foot. But I must have taken a step on the outside of my foot somehow banging it pretty good. So my challenge now is walking… 😳💪 But I decided not to mope about it and use it as an opportunity to see what my maintance really is with little to no cardio. It does not hurt when I am not putting steps on it which is good and means sleep is fine and sitting around at work will be ok also. I just hate being inactive and I am sure fitbit is going to curse at me loudly for lack of any activity for a while.
Want to take bets on how many days/weeks this takes to ease up for a jog? As you can see the swelling and bruising is limited and it has grown overnight in size since I took this picture 4 hrs post injury. but my toes and foot mobility are good and I don't feel anything "crackling around" so I am going to wait this one out from drs for a few days yet.
7 -
PS @martaindale those black flies used to land on Bandit and I had to slap them dead with my gloved hand to get them off. Awful things. I wonder if the creeks have changed somehow causing more wet land.
1 -
Nice shuffle @chris_in_cal .
Congratulations on an amazing month mileage @kgirlhart !
Way to exceed your goals @tarun_yadavA - esp for your birthday month!
You did great this month @daria0919 .
@martaindale I think we all have those times when we just don't have the time, or want to interact. Glad you didn't abandon us.
OH NO @SummerSkier ! I hate to see that! I hope it is "just" a bruise and rest, ice, and elevation help. Glad you are able to sleep and sit with no pain. It looks nasty.

That’s the last run for the month. It was good even though it rained and the wind was strong. This has been my best month so far for running and bike. Got 222 miles on bike too. I had very low expectations at beginning of month as I was very stressed about my son’s appointments but that wasn’t so bad. It’s crazy how much stress & tension can affect us.
Well done Everyone. It looked like a great month of progress for most.
@SummerSkier Oh no, your poor foot! And in front of the neighbours 🙈

@SummerSkier so very sorry to hear about your fall. That looks very painful! I hope recovery is quick.

Logging several runs to wrap up the month. I missed my goal and the handful of runs cut short were probably the difference.
I cut today's run short. My calf felt tight as I did my warmup but I thought it would work itself out. It didn't. I got to a point where continuing on would commit me to 8 miles or turning around and ending up closer to 5 miles. There is a giant knot in the muscle body and I feel a twinge of pain with every step both walking and running, but it's worse with running. It came out of nowhere. I ran yesterday and felt totally fine.
We are leaving for South Africa tonight and have 2 overnight flights with a 12hr layover in between. I'll be stopping at Heathrow @tarun_yadavA and I'll say hi from the air on the way out! I'm hoping a short rest from running will be enough for my calf to chill out. I'm taking some running clothes and hoping to squeeze in a couple runs. Our itinerary looks pretty busy so not anticipating having many options, but we'll see. Gotta get South Africa on my Strava map!!
5 -
I ran 3.99M at 13'13 out at the lake. (4.02 on my watch)
I just made my May goal of 30 miles.
4 -
This morning I went out to the Stratton Open Trail system and ran 6.3 miles. There were so many trails. I just turned right when I felt like it and left when I felt like going that way. I could see my resort down below so I knew the general direction I needed to go to get back. The trail was muddy from yesterday’s evening thunderstorm which was helpful when I tripped on a rock and went down. I landed on my knees and the palms of my hands. Luckily, the mud cushioned my fall and I didn’t even have any cuts. Made my goal of 75 mile for the month – barely!

No more runs for me for May after I hit my goal this past Thursday, as I promised my Dr. I'd take a rest day 😁.
Happily, he's not opposed to me continuing to run & referred me to some specific physio (which I'm all for) before sending me down the neuro testing spiral for the nerve pain.
He also asked me if I needed a prescription for pain meds and just started chuckling, then said, 'take Advil'……private joke as he knows I've haven't taken a pain med prescription from him, regardless of what I was going through, in the 15+ years he's been my Dr.1 -
Amazing, as always @AlphaHowls .
Congrats on such a great month for both running and riding @Mari33a .
@martaindale I hope a little rest is all that your calf needs. That sounds painful. Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Congrats on making your goal @chris_in_cal . Nice run today.
Great running and glad you weren't hurt @Teresa502 .
Great job on making your goal @John772016 . I'm glad your doctor is on board for you to continue to run, after you take a couple days off. I hope the physio can help.
Great running everyone. Even if you didn't make your goal, you did much better than the majority of the population!

I made my goal, but it wasn't really pretty. 😉 The weather was nice at 64°F (17.8°C) with a pretty stiff breeze. I did a little over 2 miles on the driveway, until Tippy tired herself out, and then finished on the rural roads near my house. I intended on an easy pace, walking whenever I wanted - trying to keep my HR down. After doing 7 miles total yesterday, my legs started getting tired at about 4 miles today. As I was running, I was thinking that I would run 3 miles and walk 3…then, I'll try to run 4 miles…..then, let's see how far I can run in an hour. I did the 4.75 miles in 59m21s, so had an avg pace of 12:30 min/mile. That's actually pretty good for me, esp since I wasn't trying to run fast at all. Avg HR was 136 with a max of 155 bpm. Splits were 13:15, 12:25, 12:47, 12:34, and 12:21 min/mile.
