    My question for the day

How many times and how many profiles will "robertjones" use to try to friend me. I think this goes back at least 7 or 8 years at this point. 😂😏😳🙃

Wow @kgirlhart ! You have made amazing progress in 8 year!

You deserve a rest day @ContraryMaryMary . Your lawn will be the envy of the neighborhood.

    Great run @tarun_yadavA .

Hahaha @SummerSkier . He must REALLY want to be your friend.

@angf0679 Questions to ponder (not necessarily answer here unless you want to.) What exactly is keeping you from getting out to run? Be specific. What changes can you make to remove those roadblocks? (one at a time) Try to find time for at least a 5 min walk each day and you may find that you can extend that to a wun/run without a lot of extra effort. What motivates you? Can you give yourself a reward for each time you run? I used to keep track and "put" a certain amount of money into a fund to buy something I wanted but didn't need when I ran or lost a pound. That gave me something tangible to work toward. (If that was a rhetorical "I need help." never mind. 😂)

@quilteryoyo I come up with a different excuse every day. Monday I was lazy and didn't want to carry my book bag bag, running bag and laptop bad (had to bring it in as I was having work connection issues). Yesterday was because I didn't want to mess up my salon fresh hair. 😂 I didn't bring my running bag today as it was giving rain all day. Of course at the current moment it isn't. In order to run in the evening it would be after 9pm. I don't care to run that late as it takes time to unwind to get to sleep.

    01.05 strength
    03.05 walking, strolling 19km
    04.05 walking, strolling 13km
    06.05 1.7km 12min 7:08/km - benchmark run & strength
    07.05 5.0km 37min 7:26/km

    6.68/81km - 11.6km behind

Yeah, of course… I do an 11 week running programme to run 5km in 7:30/km, and totally fail at the last run. Today, the first day of a new programme it just worked. 🤨🤐

Very nice run, felt fairly easy. And yeah, compared to the totally failed run I started slowly and increased pace very, very slowly from 1.3km in instead of running too fast from early on.

    Hi everyone!

I ran Monday, but just an easy 3.2km, because I was meeting a friend at the gym. I only felt slightly sore after the HM.

The fact that I don’t feel tired from the race and my daughter led me to sign up for a second, flatter HM race at the end of the month. Maybe this time I can PR (if it is not too hot!). If not, it will be a nice run! Why was it my daughter’s fault? Well, I was planning on signing up for the 5km, which I usually do at this particular run, and she said, “Mama, the half marathon is more your thing.” Ok, I can roll with that :).

Today I wanted to get out for a longer run. I ran 13km. 46.1/270km for May.

Happy to help expand your vocabulary @tarun_yadavA

@SummerSkier, I too get regular friend requests from ‘robertjones’. At least one every month or so 😂 The bots are unrelenting!

V02 max runs are HARD @WarmJellyfish. I haven’t done one in years because they really hurt.

We’ve all been there @angf0679 - sometimes you’ve just gotta simply lace up your shoes and get out the door. Stick with it.

Awesome @yirara - starting slow is the biggest and easiest hack in the book!

Sounds like your daughter knows best @Laurz9191

My experience with 1 yr olds were just with my 8 nieces & nephews, but I thought it was a full moon everyday @quilteryoyo.
Your 1st 5K 8 years ago to the mileage you do now is pretty impressive @kgirlhart!
    Nice run @tarun_yadavA!
Maybe he's really, really, really forgetful @SummerSkier! 😶
My ankles (and shins) were looking like that today @WarmJellyfish, though not on trails, the few days of rain washed a lot of mud/dirt onto paths/sidewalks/streets & a couple of sunny days made that into dusty paths that I ran today. I often think of my sunscreen as just the primer layer and all the dust/dirt/mud is what actually protects me from the sun.
Congrats @yirara! You didn't fail on your last program run, you just increased the timeline.
Nice run @Laurz9191, your daughter knows, lol.

    May:

    01/05 - 0km
    02/05 - 11.31km / 7.03 miles
    03/05 - 0km
    04/05 - 11.67km / 7.25 miles
    05/05 - 0km
    06/05 - 6.47km / 4.02 miles Treadmill
    07/05 - 13.29km / 8.26 miles

    Total = 32.74km / 26.56 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)

An absolutely beautiful day for a run through the city.

Hahaha. It looked like a tan line. @WarmJellyfish . You'll succeed on the next try.

@angf0679 Ok. If you still want help - "STOP MAKING EXCUSES!" LOL I have a hard time running late too, esp if I need to get up early the next day.

@yirara I'm glad your run today was a good one.

You're doing great @Laurz9191 . Glad you aren't requiring too much time to recover and get that PR. Haha that your daughter nudged you to sign up for the HM.

    Hahaha @John772016 . Great running.

That's understandable after all of that yard work @ContraryMaryMary . You did great!

Max deadlift was 105 pounds for 10 reps, twice. Also did assisted pull ups, leg press, lateral raises, dumbbell curls, tricep press downs, divergent seated row, and leg curls.

After I got home, I did a driveway wun. I took it easy, hoping to not sweat a lot, but I did anyway. I did 2.25 miles at an avg pace of 15:02 min/mile.

    5/2: 6.25 miles
    5/4: 13.21 miles

    5/7: 7.25 miles

    45.31/140 miles completed for May

Thanks @quilteryoyo and @john772016. If you had told me 8 years ago that I would still be running and running Half Marathons I would not have believed it. This morning, I ran 7.25 miles. It was an uneventful run, but it was just so nice out. We have been an unusually nice spring, and I have really been enjoying my runs lately.

We have had a couple of unexpected visitors. Monday night they crawled in through the crawl space under the house and got into a closet. I knew something was up because our dog was sniffing around like crazy in the back room. I thought it was just some cats outside or under the house, but when I went into the closet, I saw that the panel to access the water to the bathtub had been pushed open and saw these two little possums were taking a nap in a motorcycle helmet that was stored in the closet. Luckily, we've got them out and I think everything is secured so they can't come in again.
