Curvy does not equal fat. A circle is not curvy.

What? A circle is ALL curves.

No. A circle is round. This is a curve:

    And this is a curve:

    th_s-curve_zps04225e73.jpg

I don't quite see how either one would form a circle
A circle (per Math is fun website) is:
A 2-dimensional shape made by drawing a curve that is always the same distance from a center.

Websters, Wikipedia etc give similar definitions
So, yes, a circle is a curve.

Although some people use curvy as a euphemism for fat, more often than not they actually mean curvy and not fat. Curvy means exactly what it says, that you have curves unlike some very skinny women who have no shape.

My point is that the curves above do not make a circle.

My BMI is perfect, and I love my fat right where it is. Without your fat, you'd be nothing but skin and bones.

What about muscle? Skin, bones, and muscle. But, I agree, of course some fat is more than necessary.

Not all curves will make a circle, but all circles are a curve.
Therefore, round people are by definition curvy.
    Rolls are also curves.

As others have stated, I'm not sure why others get annoyed, upset, etc over how others chose to define themselves.

During my stint of toying around with online dating, I learned that fat women call themselves curvy to make themselves feel better about being fat. Fat rolls =/= curvy. I always wanted to tell them:

This made my day hahha :)

I don't get why there are SO many threads about this, and so much controversy, it is a simple concept!

Curvy is a shape. It means you have CURVES. Which, if you are a woman, is a good thing.

    Fat is a weight.

One can be curvy and thin. Curvy and fat. Fat and not curvy. Thin and not curvy.

    Simple.

My measurements are 34-25-38 and people call me curvy. And since curvy is just a nicer synonym for fat, did they really mean I was fat? I'm so confused with the difference between curvy vs. fat. What do you classify as "curvy"?

No, to me curvy means you have bigger boobs and hips and more of an hourglass figure.

Golly when my measurements were the same as yours I felt like I looked pretty good :) Sure, I would have been happier with 36 for the hips, but that's not the way my body works. Curvy is not Fat.

Depends on whose body is being described. I've heard many a female claim curvy when that definitely wasn't the case.

A circle is A curve. If you're curvy... you're not as much fun to kick down a hill.

Mwahaa! I almost snorted iced tea through my nose. :drinker:
