7/5 Part B
✏️
OK I went back and at least logged what I ate yesterday.4 -
My weight has been going the wrong direction since about the beginning of May. It's time to refocus.
6/30: 146.2. Yesterday, I did about an hour walk on the treadmill and a 30 minute walk outside in the evening. I started the day tracking food, but didn't keep at it all day. Today's goal is to track everything, do a treadmill run, and a walk outside.
7/1: 146.2. Tracked all food yesterday and went for a walk outside. I did not get to the gym to run though. Same goals for today: track, walk and run.
7/2: 144.4. Goodbye to some excess water weight (finally). Yesterday was a good day, as far as eating. I logged everything and was under my goal. I went for a walk, but wasn't able to get to the gym to run since my husband worked late and I had to stay home with our kids. I'm really hoping I can go tonight.
7/3: 145.3. I had pasta for dinner last night. Pasta always makes me hold onto some water weight. I stayed in calorie goal. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (finally got to the gym!) and went for 2 walks.
7/4: 145.0. I met my goals yesterday: food was within calorie goal, I went for a walk and a 3 mile treadmill run. I don't think we have any plans for the 4th that will derail me today, so I'm aiming for another good day today.
7/5: 145.6. No explanation for the gain, guess it's just the normal fluctuations. Food was on track. Long walk but no run.

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 300
June 30 – July 9, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.
SW: 130.2
6/30 – 130.4
7/1 – DNW
7/2 – 131.0 Is it possible I did not report in for TWO days. I knew I skipped the scale yesterday, and then did not post. I had no idea until this morning that I did not show up here on Monday as well. So I skipped two, but the good news is that I ONLY skipped two. The bad news is also that I skipped two. :P Going to sit here and pre-track my day. Gotta get myself in order. Was in a good place last week. I need to return. Happy July everyone – only a day late!
7/3 – 128.8 Yesterday, was thoughtful. The only negative for the day was that I splurged on a cappuccino at the restaurant last night, and forgot to say decaf. Had a great evening until I could….not….fall….asleep, and I remembered I forgot to say decaf. Not sure how many hours of sleep I got last night, but certainly not what one wants. I wonder if I am going to get hit with withdrawls today. Otherwise, today should be good. :)
7/3 – 129.2 Posting super late today. Was up cooking early to bring things to my daughter, who hosted today. Middle of the day was party, which included my 88 year old, now disabled, mom. After running around with that (though a nice day), drove home, packed and cleaned some more, loaded the car and drove to Maine. Sitting on the couch now waiting for the fireworks out our window.
7/5 – 128.0 I guess I did better than I thought yesterday. I have to assume that I overestimated the calories in the calzone slices. The rest I pretty much knew.

6/30 Had to weigh even tho up @ 3 :30. No TMI x3 days… terrific day yesterday! But, I am tired this morning. Dragging. I truly wish I could sleep at least one more hour /90 more minutes… simply must figure out this sleep thing. Pleased I participated in the #3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣mini challenge and completed it… I learned more about my thought patterns. A Successful “Celebrate with action” ten whole days. Looking forward to this round - with better sleep . (Manifest!) ONWARD!
7/1 peculiar day. I knew I was overly tired. Went back to bed at 11AM and slept for 2 1/2 hours! Foggy the rest of the day, but I feel great today! 🎾+🚶♀️💓⏱️🏋️♀️
7/2 130.0?! I actually stood on the scale five times and it said 129.8 and finally the sixth time it said 130.0 which I sincerely don’t believe any of that… The unexpected ⬇️ is just as unwelcomed as the unexpected ⬆️? Did a good night sleep for two days FINALLY allow my body rest and relax to let go and do its thing?!? Is this a real whoosh or just a tease? I’ll keep it up though. I had to push myself to register 10k steps and 300 jumps yesterday because after two hours of 🎾 I just did not want to… Felt accomplished after… Did not 🏋️♀️yesterday. Will do today. ONWARD!
My dream: to simply not ever care on any one given day what the scale reads … To not let it impact my day one iota. To know in my soul “I’m good”. 😊
7/3 130.4. We ate late last night. Only 90 g 🥩. No 🏆The 130.x seems real- a “win” by keeping consistent. And…. Water intake has been 💯& I’m sleeping better so hypothesizing that my body is releasing cortisol - not holding on to stress and finally headed toward enjoying a balance of mind/body/soul. Sleeping well supports good decision making. Pushing towards 70 min of Z2💓 and 300 jumps each day has many psychological benefits for me… Simply pushing myself a little more builds self- discipline & confidence. Only did 10min of 🏋️♀️yesterday will do more today. Why do I push back on that? I am AVOIDING the most important activity!! However, I had an awesome “mobility“ training set that I truly enjoyed. Slow walk this morning in prep for the 🇺🇸4 on the 4th tomorrow. (The humidity is so, so bad right now🥵) … Our goal will be around 60 minutes… I’m not sure if Tucker can make it so we’ll walk jog walk jog…. My hubby is leaving for one week today. (One of his brothers recently lost his wife and so the brothers are getting together in Colorado to camp/hike & bike…(ages 72, 70, 67 & 62) I’m VERY fortunate to be married to a man who prioritizes his health. I will miss him big time! But also an extended opportunity to focus on me!! 💪🏻
7/4 & 7/5 A CRAZY thing happened on the way to the scale⚖️@ 5 :30AM 7/4 before our race yesterday … I literally, not figuratively, freaked out because I read 137 lbs… 🫣😬😳Then, I weighed again - the scale went DARK… Then I changed the batteries and nothing happened so I ordered a new scale to be delivered late today (hopefully) or Sunday. SO there I was running around the house, finding batteries, replacing batteries, totally focused on the darn scale when it really shouldn’t have mattered a hill of beans while getting ready for the race… It’s scary to confess the range of emotions that flooded over me yesterday - straight-talk telling me that I am overly obsessed and re-confirms why I have these major self-image issues. I mean, get a grip Carolyn! Why can’t I simply trust my efforts and not rely on the darn scale? I’m also sincerely concerned that the scale has not been accurate for some time (LOW?)… I actually believed I was trusting the process? What does the number REALLY mean? I mean, it is what it is… right? Why was I overly dependent on the scale in that moment? I managed to settle down after a few long minutes, but the panic was real. A really, REALLY sad unexpected self- discovery. Couldn’t sleep last night but am determined to have a peace-filled day & go with the flow. Sheesh.
BTW: Food on target yesterday… Skipped jump rope (no pun intended) because of the race and plan on a long walk and jumping today.#HSF #ENGAGED

@_JeffreyD_ Mine are not on the counter, Maine and Mass are on a shelf, and Florida is in a Drawer. If the concept excites you, I think there are folding/compact options. Regarding your "only one", that is smart. A related concept that I do is one dinner style plate. Meaning, only one plate and the food cannot be stacked. Very similar to what I would get in a restaurant, or a plated dinner.
All and all, there are so many challenges. As for buffets, I do better at a restaurant buffet as I don't risk hurting anyone's feelings by not trying the food they brought. That was MY challenge yesterday.

7/1-137-Played pickleball last night. Was supposed to take the new kitty in to get spayed yesterday and she was nowhere to be found. Got my credit card charged anyway and then she showed up later.😬 Made another appointment for tomorrow and she is gone again…..I’ve got ALL day to find her and kindly lock her up so I can get my money’s worth tomorrow morning.🤞
7/2-139-Found the cat! She will go in this morning for her body work.
Weight is up just a bit; DH brought home fresh corn. One ear with plenty of butter, salt and pepper, along with an avocado did that.7/5-137-Was a nice cooler (not over 90) day; played pickle ball in the morning then did yard work all day. Today should another pleasant one.

@SModa61 You are correct. This was 249 and I have been misled by snippets of commercials on the History channel celebrating 250! I failed to engage my brain. I had actually thought it strange that there wasn’t a lot of hoopla like there was in 1976! Here’s to 250 in 2026🥂

Regarding the food scale. I’ve had several but realized in the last year that it pays to get a good one. The ones I have gotten at WM are iffy. I could put something in the scale and its weight would start changing the longer it sat, the heavier it would be. I finally went to a restaurant supply when I started weighing ingredients for sourdough. Many recipes give weight rather than “cups” and my results are very consistent now. The scale was marked $70 but it was actually only $25 and is the same brand they sell at WM just, apparently, a better model. My kitchen has extremely limited counter space so I am frequently moving the scale.

6/30 133.5 Headache, going to water fitness anyway
7/1 135.0??? Did water fitness, Walmart, nail appointment. Lots of movement - UGH! Going to lunch with neighbor today. I need to fast for a week!
7/2 133.0 lunch was canceled so I fasted until 3:30. Then had 2 small hotdogs with 1 oz cheddar, no bread. Weather is iffy today and tomorrow with high wind warnings and dust storm warnings. I’m drinking my version of BP coffee minus heavy cream. I have been adding waaaay too much of that to coffee - every cup instead of just the first cup. Today- zero cream, only 1T Mary Newport oil blend. The Weather Channel said thunderstorms at 7:30 and I just heard thunder at 7:20!
7/3 134.0 OMAD yesterday was “Chicago Style Dog” and fries. Not a great choice but nothing really appealed to me. I don’t care for the “snap” that our Chicago friends love.
7/4 133.5 🇺🇸Happy 250th Birthday, USA!🇺🇸 “Picnic” this afternoon.

6/30- 168.87/01- 166.57/02- 166.37/03- 166.17/04- 166.07/05- 166.7 - Yesterday dinner was switched due to the floods and the endless onslaught of rain until about 7pm so I was unable to plan properly. Breakfast and lunch were more snacks than meals due to having to be ready to respond with the fire department. My ranch had some pretty terrible flooding and a horse needed to be rescued (safely and successfully) but fortunately the residents are all safe. We were blocked in by flooded low-water crosses and our dam that overflowed, covering the road over the dam with some serious flowing water. We are all still safe. There are more storms forecasted in the area this afternoon which bring more flood risk to the area. It will take months to recover, if not years. This city is strong, but we are certainly devastated.7 -

@quiltingjaine I think european baking recipes are done by weight. Like you reported, I understand it is more accurate. When hubby and I make homemade salami, the salt is added by weight. Would you believe, different salts are more "salty" and that level of saltiness will correlate to its weight.
2 -
@_JeffreyD_ Did you have a birthday or was the pie for the birthday of America?
@quiltingjaine OMG, I didn't do the math on America's birthday! Shame on me!
@CamandJarvis So many prayers are being sent to Texas and to your community! Praying for you and your neighbors and your neighborhoods. I am also praying for a rescue (rather than recovery) for those little girls missing from camp and for everyone everywhere that is unaccounted for. {{{hugs}}}

07/04-DNW 💠 - (Trend Weight: DNW) Today is my no-weigh Friday and it’s just as well. I must confess that yesterday was not a good day on any level. I did get in a bit of intentional exercise but only about half of what I have been aiming for. Diet was WAY off as the 250th birthday party for the USA was off to a pretty big start yesterday made possible by my lovely foodie daughter and DGS. Today should be an okay food day as our family BBQ will not be until tomorrow (Saturday). I may skip weighing in on Sunday as it would just be a temporary bloat and misrepresentation. I don’t need the scale to tell me that if I partake in the typical foods at our BBQ’s I will bloat and gain. Today most of my children have gone kayaking or tubing down river. I am taking care of all the littles. 3 of them age 4-7. Maybe I’ll get in more steps today? Happy Birthday America!
💥💥💥07/05-190.6 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 190.3) I’m feeling fat and sluggish today, just as I should be. Today is the biggest BBQ celebration for family so the weekend of celebration continues on day 3 for us. I will not be weighing tomorrow. DD’s 6 kittens were born just after midnight this morning. So beautiful! I’m going by to visit them on the way to my other DD’s house for the Big Bang BBQ. I’ll post pics later.

7/4: 81.9 - oh boy really! I mean I did only fly in yesterday and I did have very puffy feet on the flight (I think I need to invest in compression socks) so I'm expecting some of that to be fluid retention and go in the next couple of days. Even so, not quite the result I wanted, but I shouldn't be surprised, I ate too much sugar, and too little vegetables while away. However, back home now and back eating normally and hopefully we'll get that number back down
7/5: 81.1 - better. Ended up eating a 2nd dinner as I was starving which meant I worked out about even for the day. I blame the jet lag making me think it was dinner time

Also, I was talking to DH on this topic while driving up to Maine last night, as 249 vs 250 had come up at the 4th of July party. DH pointed out that while the 250th anniversary of Independence Day is July 4, 2026, there were many revolutionary wars that led up to that day, and he was listing off those wars that happened in 1775 and have already passed their 250th anniversary. This might explain all the "250th" we are hearing of despite the math.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 301 (my 231st). So grateful as always @quiltingjaine .
Goals for every round;
First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Spoiler Warning
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life.
"Health is wealth
".6/29 DNW - 9.23 miles walked yesterday, it was supposed to be a rest day before DH ran the 25k run around Sheffield today! We walked to a local town for their Open Garden event & managed to get around 28 of the 30 gardens, but Wirksworth is built on a hill, so as well as the distance there were lots of stairs and hill walking between the gardens!!
EW Rnd 300 139.6
SW End 301 139.6
6/30 DNW - 8.67 miles walked. DH did finish his 25k run, but really suffered over the last stretch, Sheffield is surrounded by 7 hills & the trail run was up and down these hills around the city, he could barely walk when he finished; the course is brutal! And it was hot! My miles were clocked up walking from the start across the city to meet him halfway with jelly babies & water and then back to see him finish, oh & did mention our DD did it too? So proud of them both. DH is suffering this morning.
7/1 DNW - a very gentle 8.85 miles walked yesterday all on the flat as a recovery for DH, he's more or less fully recovered today. Moving up to Harrogate today for the second part of our holiday.7/2 DNW - 6.15 miles walked yesterday, more purposefully now DH is recovered. And what a change to the weather! Monday 30 degrees C, this morning 18, only 91 miles further north, that's British weather for you!!! 😁
7/3 DNW - 6.04 miles walked. Day started rainy, so we went to do the food shopping for the rest of the week & then drove an hour to Keighley to a NT property & bonus, it was lovely and sunny there👏.
7/4 DNW - 10.06 miles - happy 4th July everyone 🎉.
7/5 DNW - 10.23 miles walked to Harrogate from the camp site, around the city & back, beautiful old buildings.
7/6 DNW - 10.03 miles walked, a wonderful last day in Knaresborough before we travel home today.

As usual, it looks like it will take 2 "good" days to recover from 1 bad one. I'm o.k. with that, though, as this challenge has 3 more days…

7/06 DNW I successfully adjusted my attitude and enjoyed the holiday weekend with a house full of guests. Today will be a mix of recovering from the onslaught- cleaning out the fridge and lots of laundry with getting out to work for a few hours and a nice relaxing boat ride with DH in the afternoon.
I with a renewed sense of commitment I am going to turn this around and aim for a strong end number.

Happy to be starting a new ten days. These will be my last ten days before my birthday, when I will be firmly ensconced in the upper 60’s. (yes I know, I am already in my upper 60’s)This round will have Independence Day along with traditional get-togethers. DD and her boyfriend will join us for a couple days so our whole family will be together for some parade, cookout and fireworks. My grands LOVE their aunt and “uncle” from out of town.
Without the goals above yesterday, my calories would be in a galaxy far far away, and I would have just stayed inside without getting a nice long walk done.
7/1: 223.0

I could get into this downward trend.Another hot day yesterday. Spent most of it with DGS. Some of that was reading at the public pool along with DW while he frolicked around making new friends and using the water slides.
Another walk before dark saved the day. I LOVE the long days of summer. I capped the day with a game of Gin Rummy with DW where she came from WAY behind to beat me. We just score wins and not all the other fluff that true Gin players do. I am ahead for 2025, 12 games to 11.

Started up a small group bible study yesterday. It will go for 6 weeks with a couple week break in the middle. Good friends. Of course I brought Dunkin Munchkins and ate about 8 of them myself. I didn’t know they were 55-60 calories a pop, and I forgot to log them until this morning. I wondered how my CI could be so low yet I add almost half a pound. Mis-logging, that’s how. Thankfully I was still on target. One of my problems is mis-logging. Either I totally forget something, or I tell myself a little white-lie about the probable calorie count or quantity, or I just don’t know the actual quantity. (I don’t want a food scale on the counter) It might be helpful to log as I go without saving the reckoning until the end of the day.
7/3: 223.0
✏️💓
Missed the target by a bunch. Total weakness yet the scale did not tattle on me. Probably a penalty tomorrow. I should control myself today since Friday will be a food fest.I will have something removed by my dermatologist today. Not enough to show up on the scale tomorrow. HA!
7/4: 222.6

Lots of self-control yesterday. Excellent exercise (18 mile bike ride plus lawn mowing) and good food choices.Feeling like I am on a roll, but today is a big food fest day. Happy Birthday USA! 250 Years. I am so old I remember the Bicentennial Celebration. (I don’t remember the signing of the Declaration of Independence.) I will be cooking part of the meal today. Brats and chicken on the grill and baked beans on the smoker.
DD got here last night after midnight. (I slept through it) Looking forward to hugging her when she wakes up.
7/5: DNW
Yesterday was a washout, the magnitude of which I will never know. Why? I didn’t log therefore target not visible. And I did not exercise. AND, when I stepped on the scale this morning … nothing. Dead battery I suppose. NSV: I had the courage to step on the scale after a day with three big meals.Leftovers loom in the fridge.
I had a wonderful time with family which was not a washout. DW made my traditional Birthday Blueberry Pie. She has been doing this for decades.

OK I went back and at least logged what I ate yesterday.7/6: 226.4

I don’t have a replacement battery for the scale in the house. In the meantime, I did one of my favorite tricks. Take the old battery out, clean it and put it back in. Good for a few uses more. It kind of makes that sound when you drink the last bit of milkshake with a straw.I ghastly jump up, but not unexpected with the holiday food we had. Smoked Baked beans, potato salad and pie galore. And, you should have seen the way “they” forced me to eat it. I was a true victim.
Some should drop off with a little sensible eating today and waiting.

7/6 – 128.6 I did make it to the gym yesterday. First time vising a planet fitness that is not my “home” location. Worked fine, but it was confusing trying to find the machines I wanted. I mainly used the dumbells, which they had a nice supply and lots of mirrors. Eating was acceptable calorie wise, but LOT of carbs and lots of salt. Also went to first IMax movie, and smuggled in a 130 cal single serve veggie stix (more salt and carbs). So several reasons for an uptick today.

7/6: 143.7. A nice little drop. I've been working hard and staying on track so it's nice to see that reflected on the scale. Hoping it sticks around. Food was within calories, went on a shorter walk and did a 6 mile treadmill run.

SO there I was running around the house, finding batteries, replacing batteries, totally focused on the darn scale when it really shouldn’t have mattered a hill of beans while getting ready for the race… It’s scary to confess the range of emotions that flooded over me yesterday- straight-talk telling me that I am overly obsessed and re-confirms why I have these major self-image issues. I mean, get a grip Carolyn! Why can’t I simply trust my efforts and not rely on the scale? I’m also sincerely concerned that the scale has not been accurate for some time (LOW?)… I actually believed I was trusting the process? What does the number REALLY mean? I mean, it is what it is… right? Why was I overly dependent on the scale in that moment? I managed to settle down after a few long minutes, but the panic was real. A really, REALLY sad unintended discovery. Couldn’t sleep last night but am determined to have a peace-filled day & go with the flow. Sheesh.
7/6 I was in my head all day yesterday - agonizing. Many unsuccessful efforts to reset my attitude. Finally, around 5:30PM, I said JUST GO DO IT … 70 minute 💓Z2 completed 🚶♀️10k steps & 300 jumps… and a solid nutrition day over on Pg which isn’t a bad thing… At 1350 cals,🏋️♀️25min (early in day). I felt like a petulant child… kicking & screaming inside my head most of the day. As agonizing as the day was, I finished it off strong. Scale to arrive this evening?
Much, much better attitude this morning after a good night sleep… Sleep is King!
NSV: strong daily habit of tracking key measures and food… it’s now engrained. I think that’s why the scale fiasco had me rattled - if I’m up 5 lbs (without a clue - “clothing fit” is same) I will reevaluate. I realize it’s not the “5 lbs” per se… It’s everything (goals) which might be off? But it is what it is - I’ll tweak & adjust. ONWARD!
