My weight has been going the wrong direction since about the beginning of May. It's time to refocus.
6/30: 146.2. Yesterday, I did about an hour walk on the treadmill and a 30 minute walk outside in the evening. I started the day tracking food, but didn't keep at it all day. Today's goal is to track everything, do a treadmill run, and a walk outside.
7/1: 146.2. Tracked all food yesterday and went for a walk outside. I did not get to the gym to run though. Same goals for today: track, walk and run.
7/2: 144.4. Goodbye to some excess water weight (finally). Yesterday was a good day, as far as eating. I logged everything and was under my goal. I went for a walk, but wasn't able to get to the gym to run since my husband worked late and I had to stay home with our kids. I'm really hoping I can go tonight.
7/3: 145.3. I had pasta for dinner last night. Pasta always makes me hold onto some water weight. I stayed in calorie goal. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill (finally got to the gym!) and went for 2 walks.
7/4: 145.0. I met my goals yesterday: food was within calorie goal, I went for a walk and a 3 mile treadmill run. I don't think we have any plans for the 4th that will derail me today, so I'm aiming for another good day today.
7/5: 145.6. No explanation for the gain, guess it's just the normal fluctuations. Food was on track. Long walk but no run.
7/6: 143.7. A nice little drop. I've been working hard and staying on track so it's nice to see that reflected on the scale. Hoping it sticks around. Food was within calories, went on a shorter walk and did a 6 mile treadmill run.
7/7: 144.7. I knew the huge drop yesterday wouldn't stick around. But my trend weight is still moving down, so I'm happy with where I am for now. Food was good yesterday, did a walk and a 4 mile run.
7/8: 144.7. I was over on calories, as my husband cooked dinner for us last night (delicious but high calories). It was a much needed rest day from running. I did go for a bit of a walk, but it was shorter than usual partly because the heat even first thing in the morning (in AZ) was getting to me, partly because my legs were protesting after an increase in running. And honestly, I just wasn't feeling it.
7/9: 144.2. Calories were good, went for a walk and did a 4 mile treadmill run.
I was hoping I would be down a little more by the end of this round, since the starting weight reflects a very recent gain and I was hoping I could squeeze out a bit more water weight. But I am, of course, still happy with a 2 lb loss. More important than the loss, I finally got back on track with my food and exercise habits. So it's been a good round. I'll see you guys in the next one!

I’m sorry the veggies got you. The bowls at this place were so small (and no choice of size) I think it would not have been possible to gain 5. The beef was sliced thin and rolled and frozen so the 5 pieces I took pretty much filled my bowl then onions, peppers, bamboo shoots, some mystery veggies and broccoli balanced carefully on top. They give you one ice cream scoop of steamed rice which I don’t usually eat but I did. I actually ate it all - something that never happened at Genghis Grill. I guess this explains why there was hardly anyone there. $18 for lunch with no beverage.

6/30 133.5 Headache, going to water fitness anyway
7/1 135.0??? Did water fitness, Walmart, nail appointment. Lots of movement - UGH! Going to lunch with neighbor today. I need to fast for a week!
7/2 133.0 lunch was canceled so I fasted until 3:30. Then had 2 small hotdogs with 1 oz cheddar, no bread. Weather is iffy today and tomorrow with high wind warnings and dust storm warnings. I’m drinking my version of BP coffee minus heavy cream. I have been adding waaaay too much of that to coffee - every cup instead of just the first cup. Today- zero cream, only 1T Mary Newport oil blend. The Weather Channel said thunderstorms at 7:30 and I just heard thunder at 7:20!
7/3 134.0 OMAD yesterday was “Chicago Style Dog” and fries. Not a great choice but nothing really appealed to me. I don’t care for the “snap” that our Chicago friends love.

Restarting, after a long absence... I've found success on MFP and this group in the past and ready to do it again. I was slender and fit my entire life until menopause hit in my early 40s and have been struggling with my weight ever since. I will be doing well with my fitness and lifestyle choices and then either life stresses or recently injuries cause a set back and I gain 20 lbs. (or more) super quick. This will be my 4th time in 8 years to lose this weight. Determined to make it the last time I have to do this.
2018 SW = 172.0 lbs. End Weight = 141.5 lbs.
2022 SW = 193.9 lbs. End Weight = 143.6 lbs.
2024 SW = 165.8 lbs. End Weight = 144.6 lbs.
Start Weight on 7/6/25 = 169.7lbs. Goal Weight = Under 145 lbs. (5'4, 55-year-old female)
7/8 = 168.8 lbs. Jumping back in this thread towards the end, so that I am all set and back in the habit of daily posting and weighing when the next round starts.
7/9 = 167.7 Down 2 lbs. this week, off to a good start (even if it is only water weight), looking forward to the next round and continuing getting back to good healthy habits. Consistency is the key!

My water intake improved, but it isn't quite back up to normal yet. I did get quite distracted last night around dinner and didn't stay consistent with drinking or I'd be nearly at my normal intake. Today will be better. Meals planned and logged for the day. I may be going out with my VFD for recovery efforts Sunday if the Man hasn't volunteered us already for something. That means I may need to plan food that can easily be made Monday night for dinner (and have leftovers for Wednesday) and Tuesday night (with leftovers for Thursday) and something easy for lunch. Lunch shouldn't be too bad. I can always thaw some fish filets and air fry them quickly over lunch with some microwave steam veggie bags and some sweet potato fries or something.2 -

I must admit a true English scone is very, VERY hard to resist. We have an “English tea room“ in our little town called “The English Tea Room” 😊. The owners are from England… And it is quite authentic with 80+ different teas … It’s a wonderful quaint place and their scones & crumpets are delicious. I also must confess that I don’t often go there because I cannot resist the scones! If I have one, it’ll be at least three!

7/1 231 ~ New Month. Working to control the things that I can! Apple has a sense of humor. I closed all my rings 19 times last month. Guess what my monthly goal is for July, close all your rings 19 times! At least it's doable and somewhat motivating as I'm 6/6 on receiving the awards in 2025 and I want to be 12/12. I hope they don't give me something outrageous in the months to come. I was 9/12 in 2024 and 10/12 in 2023.
7/2 231 ~🍎💧🚫 yesterday was a work day, so nothing extra, did get my exercise in and my steps but fell a bit short on closing my rings….late post for today ~ it was a long day, had to drive down (90 min) to take my sister to an MRI. She’s still not aware of her diagnosis, just that they need some additional test. Still hoping to get to speak with the doctor before her next appointment next Tuesday. Somewhat of a stressful day and didn’t plan meals well. Did get on the treadmill this morning and I will close my rings. Tomorrow may just be a RTW day! Looking forward to a nice long walk tomorrow!

My first AM weigh was 230.8, my after 3 mile walk was 229.0, so I'm reporting the average for my mental state…. I need to see some movement! Sister update under the spoiler:
Took her yesterday to meet with the surgeon. She has DCIS which is considered breast cancer but non-invasive stage 0, and nothing has spread. Treatment for her based on size and location is a mastectomy of the right breast. BUT they are going to do genetic testing, and if the traits are there…they will suggest removing both. The “good” if you will, my sister and her mental state has no relationship with her breast…so she’s “fine” either way… the stress and all decisions are on me… I did have her “repeat” what she understood from the diagnosis, and she gets it at a very high level… ie: got some cancer cells, I’ll need surgery to remove.
Me: Scared to death for the both of us. I’m also a silent stressor. To look at me, I look and seem in total control, but inside, I’m a raging mess!!!! There probably is a positive trait that comes from the genetic testing and I'll just have to figure out how to deal with it. All things considered…I don’t “think” I have anything since my Mamms (latest one May) have all been good and I’ve had multiple biopsies that have also been negative…. But…my brain wont stop going…what if…..
So I’m wishing for 7/15 to get here… by then..I should know all that my sister needs to do and any impact to me and I can get back on a healthy track. Thanks for reading and continued prayers!

@SModa61 : I do similarly- order appetizer as entree, getting exactly what I want which is what we did on Sunday! Since I mostly eat fish/seafood, the preparations- and the calories- are usually lighter. But I did have to resist this restaurant's cheeseburger"loaded", with a side of hand cut fries that my DP ordered :-)

More important I feel like I'm back to "myself"- focused on eating well instead of panicked about losing weight.

Years ago, I encountered a woman who did the appetizer bit, and I thought she was nuts at the time. Then somewhere along the way i found it works for me. Does that mean I never do an entree? No. But it gives me more flexibility with the menu. And yes a loaded burger sounds awesome.

July 10 - 19, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress loss if2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6GW Maintaining between 124 – 126 SW: 127.6 Since my weight is slowing coming back down, I’ve added back in history details INCLUDING my maintenance numbers. In January, it seemed silly including my goal was to maintain 124 – 126 when I was weighing 138. Those maintenance numbers are in sight now. Just need to get there.

7/10 – 129.0 The ice cream I bought for my sister (arriving tonight) is now gone. I guess I pre-gamed my stress eating that typically happens when she is here. She’ll be staying with us until mid-day Monday. All around, I am going to try and handle things better. Oh, I did the math. I was about 1500 calories over by the time I got done. :’(
