while I appreciate the sentiment, and started out that way myself, I learned quickly that depriving myself of the occasional fun food was the quick path to failure.

Instead of demonizing foods, learn both portion control and self control.

I don’t keep β€œjunk” foods in the house, except for maybe one at a time, and I’m very strict how much I permit myself to have per day.

If I had a pantry full, all bets would be off.

I’ve also learned to come up with other, healthier snacks in lieu of highly processed chips, cookies, ice creams. For example, every night I make a homemade fruit sorbet, or an icecream with a yogurt, cottage cheese, or skyr base. High protein, low sugar, low calorie, but high in flavor and satisfaction.

Experiment til you see what works for you.
Going β€œall in” on day one is a tough row to hoe.

I sincerely hope you’re not going β€œall in” on super low calories, too. Often, the two mindsets go hand in hand.

+1 to what that smart, successful Springlering62 said up there.

The easiest-to-follow personal practical plan gives the higher odds of success. "Lose weight fast" is a trap, and restricting foods a person could eat in moderation is usually more hindrance than help when it comes to finding that personal plan.

    Best wishes!
