Hi : - )
I am Dawn. I will turn 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week.
Day 01—08/23— 137.8 - Split shifts today and tomorrow, and lots to do in the garden on my breaks. As usual, happy to see y'all each morning. Some of us have been doing this post for years! Accountability and familiarity.
Day 02—08/24— 139.8 - Really? A 2 pound gain overnight? Argh. Typical for me though. Banner day, no reason for such a gain. If I have an indulgent day I am okay with a gain, but I didn't. Maybe just "transit" lol.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. Portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Day 01—08/23==185.6〰️ (Trend Weight: 184.8) Same weight 3 days in a row? NOT typical for me! Still having difficult with TMI. This is x4. I made that new recipe of beans and rice the other day and have had it for lunch or dinner every day. I thought the fiber in beans were a good thing? I’ve resorted to stool softeners and magnesium oxide the past two days but neither have helped. I’m only being graphic in case anyone can tell me more about how beans affect TMI. Most of you know I am new to most all vegetables. I feel fine but the scale is going nowhere! I’m looking forward to what this new challenge and the upcoming months will bring to all of us. Good luck to everyone. We got this!
⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 02—08/24==187.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 185.1) Ten days ago on the 14th I weighed in at my low of 181.8. Today reflects that I am up nearly 6 lbs in 10 days. I’ve had an off day or two including this morning’s weigh-in after the birthday party yesterday. However, I’ve had more good days than bad in those 10 days so I don’t 100% get it. Time to roll up my sleeves and get busy. First stop is to study my food diary much more closely. I’ve got my work cut out for me but honestly am still just very grateful that I’ve been sliding up and down the 180’s instead of the 190’s that I was stuck on for an entire year.

Welcome to all of the new people, and hello to everyone. I'm going to roll with this format because it worked so well last time. I lost 5 pounds during the last round. The trend looks good on the graph, and my clothes fit better. I became more consistent about exercise, I logged everything I ate, I learned that sodium is something to contend with, and that even one serving of alcohol is a no-go for me.
I also started tracking my blood pressure. It has trended back into a happy place, so I shall keep tracking it to keep it there.
I did lighter, shorter workouts last week. I needed a reset. I'm back at it today.
I also want to emphasize what @Jon4189 mentioned about "outrunning the fork". My longest bike events were 50K and 100K when I rode with the club, and I can confirm that I can out eat those calories in one afternoon. I did the science! 🙃
That said: yes, exercise does help so much! I am working on my VO2max. It's gradually increasing, and I feel so much better.

Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. Am an absolute turtle at losing and a hare at backsliding! This round my hope it to hang on to each loss then move down from there. Put an end to this eternal yo-yoing.
“You don’t have to throw a pass down the whole length of the field to score a touchdown. You can get there one yard at a time.”

Good Afternoon!
@Takarameri , welcome back ! I am a restarter, too. Good luck with your weight loss!
Day 01—08/23— 162.6 - Had a busy day yesterday. I got my new ebike! Although most of it was already assembled, I did need help putting on the front wheel. Took time to figure out all the different latches used to fold it up. Its not light ....about 55 pounds but I can lift it into the back of my SUV where I will keep it. Its VERY fast....at least for this 71 year old....so I have to get used to the throttle. But it's going to be a lot of fun.
I had a couple ears of corn for lunch....couldn't resist the last gasp, end of the season fresh corn. Dinner will be salad. Snack will be strawberries.
Day 02—08/24— 163.6 - Finished off the corn for lunch and had a little pasta salad. That's the carbs for the day. I'll have a green salad for dinner.
A friend of mine in Canada sent me a check for my vet bill....I am so appreciative. Still have a long way yo go, though.

Goal This Round: 175.6 (10 pounds)
Challenge Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx
Total Lost/Gained this challenge: xxxxx
🔜🔜🔜🔜🔜Ultimate Goal: 145-155 (I’ll know Exactly when I get there!)

Day 01—08/23==185.6〰️ (Trend Weight: 184.8)
Day 02—08/24==187.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 185.1) Ten days ago on the 14th I weighed in at my low of 181.8.
⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 03—08/25--183.8 ✅ (Trend Weight: 185.0) Finally the TMI and the whoosh I’ve been waiting for. Nearly 4 lbs gone overnight. I’m still up 2 lbs from my lowest weight 2 weeks ago, but where I’ve landed now is probably pretty accurate to where I am at. I only slept 3.5 hours last night. It’s going to be a long and tiring day. Double doctor appointments today (for me and son). Lunch will be out. I will try to be very careful not to be stupid and blow my progress! It will be chilly but sunny here today in Northern Michigan. Pants in August? Wow!

I had a very busy weekend with chores and family gatherings. My mother is requiring more help these days. I couln't quite make time for the workout until the late evening, and sleep seemed more important. Back to work today. Routines help. Have a great day, everyone.

Hi : - )
Day 03—08/25— 139.8 - Okay, that one I deserved because I had 2 cocktails after work last night. I used to be on a forum to drink less alcohol. I ran out of time for other forums besides this one, so I stopped that, the 10 day challenge, the monthly challenge etc. My aim when I was on the less alcohol was 16 AF (alcohol free) days per month. I still hit that. I am not giving up alcohol or smoking, not interested. I really overheated during my break from my split shift yesterday. My break comes at the hottest part of the day, 3-5pm. Tomorrow I have a friend coming at noon for Mojitos and a visit, so definitely I will be AF today.

Day 03—08/25—145.0 I’ve been in bed the past 2 days with flu-like symptoms, eating only sporadically. I’m pretty sure that’s what led to this almost 2 lb drop since Friday, and I’m not mad about it! Looking forward to getting outside with Kaya for a walk today. I really need some sun after being cooped up.

Good Monday Afternoon!
@deepwoodslady , congrats on the "whoosh"!
@bteri107 , sorry to hear about the flu. 😔 Hope you are back to kayaking real soon!
Still have a long way to go, though.
Day 03—08/25— 163.8 - I finished off leftover lasagna. Interesting that pasta doesn't affect my blood sugar like corn does. I approve. 🙂
Gonna get out for a little while on the ebike.…practice getting used to it. Riding an ebike is not like riding an analog bike.
