Thank you Raven for all you do with this group ❤️
Summer was good, but flew by fast!
My goals for September is to start organizing and getting rid of excess stuff in our home. It is time, lol. By the end of the year I would like to have the house and my papers organized, and the inside walls, doors and trim painted. Every room. Its been a while and its looking dingy.
Looking forward to pre- Christmas activities with friends and have a family wedding to attend in September. It will be nice to see family I have not seen in a while. We are not getting any younger 🤷♀️
Not looking forward trying to navigate holidays with my kids as its hard to get everyone together.
My favorite fall activity where I live is to walk the beaches and trails early in the morning. After today, alot of the crowds will leave and it will be quiet and peaceful once again.
Have a great week everyone :)

Summer was…great! And then scary! And then great! So all in all, personally pretty good.
September is so busy for me, haha. I've got a concert this friday, the second of two quilt classes on Saturday, for which I still have to do "homework" of finishing the blocks for the sleeves, that's right, after work between now and when I go to bed Thursday. Oh, and I'm going to the gym today, lol. Then next weekend, nothing planned thank goodness. Then the weekend after that, concert Saturday and fly out to go to Spain for a week! That puts us at the end of September, pretty much. Lol. So busy! But exciting! Two concerts, a quilted jacket, and an international trip to somewhere I've never been.
Before the end of the year, I want to try to simplify my stuff/routines. My life is busy, I don't need to spend time reordering the same clutter again and again. And, of course, lose weight.
🍁The weather is changing and so are we! Lots of exciting events and holidays are coming up. Which are you most looking forward to and, conversely, are there any that you're worried about?
I'm looking forward to my trip, of course. I'm also looking forward to Halloween. The girls have it set in their minds that I'm going to do a cookout in front of our house and blow up our projector screen to watch Hocus Pocus. I'm not really worried about any, especially as I feel better around regulating my food and stuff at holidays.
🍁What is your favorite fall activity where you live?
We love a fall festival. If I look past September, well… lol, October has a Hurricanes game I'm going to, and our birthday tea, but we'll squeeze a fall festival in there somewhere.
@rorymason hey, same about organizing! It would be nice to go into December without feeling overwhelmed with Stuff, lol. I've got plenty of attic room, there's no reason I can't make it happen.
Have a great week, everyone!

0.2 pound loss this week???? There is no emoji for me groaning- which l did, loudly.
Was on point all week 🤷♀️. Does anyone else get annoyed @ times with the MFP projections? Mine always come out to about 2 pounds a week, but its never that.
Don't get me wrong, I am thankful that I am losing and I have lost as much as I have, but if It was accurate, I would be way under 200 by now. Just sayin….
My knee calmed down enough where I felt I could walk, so Sunday I walked. Weather was beautiful amd it felt good. Was fine the rest of the day. Monday woke up and my entire leg felt like it was on fire including the knee but then went away. I have no explanation.
Just thinking the cause of only losing 0.2 this week could be that I did start exercising again and my muscles are holding on to water. Who knows… guess next week will tell.
@CupcakeCrusoe Hope you have no more scaries this year, and that you are feeling well. I love doing Halloween with the grandkids 🎃
Have a great week everyone

SW 2025: 233.4 GW 2025: 220 September WT Goal: 229.0🍁The hot weather is leaving and cooler temps are on their way. How did summer treat you? What are your goals for September? We've got some time before the end of the year; what would you like to accomplish before then?
This summer was wonderful! We had consistent rains every week so I wasn't hauling around hoses every other day to multiple flowerbed locations all summer. The weeds are another story and I'm still dealing with those, but I find weeding time very meditative and rewarding.
My September goal is to keep feeling as positive about life as I have all summer. Just enjoying each event and opportunity that comes up to experience. Of course, getting healthier with regard to food choices and increasing active minutes is a big part of that. I want to surprise my doctor with my weight loss when I go in December so I'm shooting for 3-4 pounds a month by then. I want to walk our property 2-3 times a week to discover and photograph wild things.
🍁The weather is changing and so are we! Lots of exciting events and holidays are coming up. Which are you most looking forward to and, conversely, are there any that you're worried about?
I'm excited to get to watch my oldest granddaughter play her last year of high school softball. I'm so proud but get so scared when the fielders collide. This weekend they made a mad dash to the hospital after she took a cleat to her head, so she missed the second game but she came back and played the third game of the day. She a tough cookie! Another game tonight! And my oldest grandson is playing his freshman year of football. Don't like that sport but I'll still be going to those games as well! I'm mostly looking forward to spending a lot of time in my sewing room creating cute things, also reading and weeding are on the list.
🍁What is your favorite fall activity where you live?
I love spending time outside especially when the bugs are gone. Guess they will be around for awhile but the time is coming. I plan to go walking a lot more now that it's cooler outside and will take my camera with me to catch some of the fall colors.
@rorymason @CupcakeCrusoe @annliz35 We seem to be on the same wavelength. About a month ago I looked around and said it's time for an overhaul on my stuff. I get overwhelmed when I think about doing a whole room even when I break it down into parts. So what I've been doing is going through one thing at a time…a box, a drawer, a shelf, and then stopping and writing down what I did. Eventually that list has grown and I can see that while everything isn't done. not even close. and not in any logical order. things are getting done and in time, I'll declare victory over my stuff. Like yesterday, I came home from having lunch with my sister and her husband, walked into my bedroom and got a wild hair to go through a t-shirt drawer that I hadn't touched for several years. I never wear those shirts but most are from trips we've taken. I want to wear them but they're just not quite comfortable yet. 10-15 pounds. Next summer. I promise! But now they're clean and ready when I'm ready. And I did remove 3 shirts:) It fits my personality to flit from one area to another so it's working for me. I'm a Gemini (LOL) Keeping a list of things accomplished makes me feel really hopeful.
@kiteflyer105 Nice August loss! I hope the cortisone shot helps your hip feel better so you're more comfortable out walking.
@CupcakeCrusoe Yay to quilt classes! So fun!! Are you new to sewing? and quilting? My daughter, daughter-in-law, my niece, and 4 other quilters are getting together in two weeks for a 3 day quilters retreat. I am so excited! Still deciding on which project to work on and gathering everything I need. And you! A trip to Spain!!! So jealous here! :)
Have a sweet September, all!

Ultimate GW: 130ishA little about me: I was very active on mfp back during my infertility journey 12 years ago and, had gotten down just below 160. My first reaction to going into a maternity store was turning to my mother and, crying that I didn't want to get fat again. So, here I am 12 years later and, 5lbs heavier than I was when I started that journey. 2 weeks ago I found myself trying to avoid activities with my daughters and, nieces and nephew while on vacation because I was ashamed of my body. Several people back home have recently lost weight and, I took it as a sign. I have a check in with my GP at the end of October. She will be checking my a1c and, cholesterol. I fully believe both of those levels will be less than desirable. So, I've restarted. I've been logging, getting my 10k steps, and drinking my water.
🍁September goals:209lbs, add in an additional workout at least 5 days a week beyond my 10k steps.
🍁I worry about all the treats that come with the 'ber months.
🍁I like the lack of heat and, humidity that fall brings. Normally we get beautiful fall foliage but, we've had such a drought a lot of trees have lost their leaves because they are just dead. :(

9/4/2025: 241.4 I went up during Labor day weekend. It was partly due to wanting to give my body a rest from very low calories the week before. I have been losing this week with lower calories.
🍁How did summer treat you? What are your goals for September? We've got some time before the end of the year; what would you like to accomplish before then?
I expected to make more progress this summer. Until I went camping, I achieved my exercise goals. I do not feel so low in stamina but I am afraid my leg injury will sabotage this achievement since I am resting my leg. It took me all summer to start to lose weight again. My body needed to rest after losing 20 lbs and I feel it is ready to lose more now. I am eating very healthy. I am researching what foods give you what nutrients and I am cooking to get those needed nutrients. I am eating to burn fat. I have started to do modified intermittent fasting in that I am extending my overnight fast by several hours. I feel that the best thing about the summer is finding a good source on how to eat to get healthy and lose fat. I have always cooked healthy meals but there has been more research in this area and metabolism that I am starting to make use of. My goals for September is to get my leg healed so I can get back to exercising. My weight loss goal is to get into the mid to low 230s and stay in the 230s or below.
🍁The weather is changing and so are we! Lots of exciting events and holidays are coming up. Which are you most looking forward to and, conversely, are there any that you're worried about?
Last year I let the holidays sabotage my weight loss efforts. I didn’t gain I just didn’t lose. Since I didn’t lose that much in the last 12 months I need to find a way not to let the holidays sabotage my weight loss efforts. In January I started to cut out almost all refined sugars and carbs. Before I was low but Holidays were the exception.
🍁What is your favorite fall activity where you live?
I would love to drive across the north Cascades highway this fall.
Here is my exercise schedule: I was doing this until I went camping but injured my left thigh so not doing anything now. I will start PT soon.I will update you when I have gotten my PT recommendations.
🍁1 session a week of Aquafit (50 minutes)
🍁1 session per week - long walk (45-60 minutes)
🍁2 sessions a week strength training
🍁2 30 minute sessions a week of interval walking(Japanese walking)
🍁1 day of rest
September Goals:
🍁 get out of the 240s and into the 230s I did it!
🍁 drink more water
🍁 keep sugar intake low
🍁keep making healthy meals at home with only 1 day a week meal out if needed.
🍁 see exercise plan above
🍁 increase general activity level (NEAT) with cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking the stairs to the basement once a day.
They don’t seem to know what is wrong with my leg. I suspect soft tissue damage since they didn’t find anything in the x-rays. I have done what is recommended for this but am still hurting. I see my doctor in a few weeks. I will see what PT can do soon. I am going to develop my strength training routine into one that avoids my left leg – arms, core and right legs.
I went to the August thread to read your posts and will read your September posts now.

@rorymason I so identify with your goal to organize and get rid of excess stuff . My youngest adult child living with at home got a friend to go through our large carport and put our stuff in piles of throwaway, give away and go through. We just finished doing that but there is more to do. We are not ready to paint yet but we had the chimney fixed, the roof replaced and I am getting estimates for minisplits to keep our house warmer in the winter and cooler next summer in a sustainable manner. Painting inside and out is next. I am getting us ready for my husband to retire.
Weight loss is not calories in/calories out. Not every calorie is the same. So those projections are bunk. I have not loss when I was exercising and eating low calories and lost when I upped calories. You are doing well and it will happen. I am glad you had a good walk. That is what it was like for me when I would walk. I would feel okay until afterwards.
@CupcakeCrusoe So busy ! But it sounds fun. I wish I was more confident with regulating food around holidays. It is really Halloween that gets me.
@anneliz You have made great progress . The deep cleaning is good for getting in shape too.
@nebslp I loved watching my kids play sports . I am looking forward to when I have grandchildren to watch. But for now I am enjoying my 3-year-old grandson discover the world. I identify being overwhelmed with the overhaul. I plan to get back into my art but my studio is cluttered with stuff from when it was my home office and with family records I was given to sort through after my mother died last year. That is only 1 room. I think your list of things done rather than things to do is genious.
@michellevt725 You have already lost 5 lbs and that loss and keeping that off is really healthy . 4 lbs a month is a good rate and it is healthier than losing a lot of weight really fast. Your exercise will also slim you down. If you add exercise consider strength training that works for you. Keep up the good work. This should be about health.

@KeriA I loved strength training on my last go around. My plan is to pick that back up this month. I wish I'd started it earlier the last time I was at this. Looks like I'm going to end up back at the 1lb/wk loss this week but, it's all good! I know this is the best way. I do need to weigh in earlier this week, I start colonoscopy prep tomorrow at noon so, I will weigh tomorrow am, not Monday am. Thanks for your feedback!

This weekend I got back down into the 230s but as usual my weight varies. Last week I developed an exercise plan that avoids my left leg so I can start some exercise. My youngest adult child living at home just bought a car so I should be able to go to the grocery store whenever I need to and go to the Y and exercise in the pool while my leg is healing. It appears my body is ready to lose again so hoping for some progress this month. I realized I hadn't updated my goals for September when I posted earlier so I updated them. I took my exercise goals until I know what I can do while my leg heals.

SW 225 Today's WT 203
On a slow train to wonderland lol....
Headed out to an early work appt today so will be brief.
Its funny how we all seem to have things in common: From the desire to declutter, to our sometimes annoying Doc appts, wanting to exercise more but being limited by knee issues, and worrying about those pesky A1C results.
Makes me feel like I am not alone in this and its helpful.
I'm feeling very hopeful this Fall and not negative for a change. Imagine that, lol
Instead of complaining about the speed of the train, I am actually just happy and thankful to be riding on it at all!
Thanks for going on the journey with me. :)
Until next week my friends….

My name is Nicole and I would love to join you lovely ladies. I am in my mid-40's and my start weight was 351.4. Last September, I was down to just over 250 following some stomach issues that kept me from eating much. Prior to that, I was in the low 260s, so still nearly a 90 pound loss. I was taking Ozempic at the time. I had to stop the Ozempic in order to undergo tests for the stomach issues I was having. My appetite came back and boy oh boy so did the weight. At the beginning of the year, I switched to Mounjaro. I'm currently weighing in at 287. I was off the bandwagon for awhile and not even coming to MFP to track, but I know that I need to work harder to get healthy. Fall is probably my favorite time of year. I love watching the leaves change color and I love the cool crisp air. It is so refreshing after the heat of summer. My furbabies love it, too. Cool air makes frisky and happy dogs around here. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

🍁The hot weather is leaving and cooler temps are on their way. How did summer treat you? What are your goals for September? We've got some time before the end of the year; what would you like to accomplish before then?
🍂I answered above pretty much about summer has been. Struggling. Not tracking. Going the wrong way. My goal for September is to get back to tracking regularly. I think, at this point, my goal for the end of the year is to get back to 275 or less. That is so far from the goal that I set on January 1st, but I need to be reasonable.
🍁The weather is changing and so are we! Lots of exciting events and holidays are coming up. Which are you most looking forward to and, conversely, are there any that you're worried about?
🍂My favorite hobby is a craft called diamond painting. There is an annual fall event where people choose a fall or halloween themed picture to work on. There is a group on facebook for us to chat and share progress pictures. There are weekly videos to watch and contests to enter. If you complete your picture before the end of the contest (which runs from September 1st through October 31st), you can enter for the grand prize. I was not going to join because I figured there was no way I could finish one of my large pictures in time. But, I finished my previous picture on August 28th. The one I wanted to do next just happened to be a fall landscape picture. I figured it didn't cost me anything to participate. Even if I don't finish, I can still have fun with the group. That is what I am most looking forward to this fall. I am also looking forward to the week that I took off work at the end of October. I am worried about a lot of things (it's one of the things I do best, lol), but mostly medical things. I am worried about one doctor not being happy with me because I don't follow her directions well enough. I am worried about whether or not a new medicine I am taking will help me, but at the same time, I am hopeful that it will.
🍁What is your favorite fall activity where you live?
🍂I live in the apple capital of my state. While we don't go apple picking, I do still enjoy going to the orchards to buy fresh apples that they have picked for their markets. I also enjoy buying "seconds" to feed the deer that come by our yard.

Just a quick post to report a NSV. A friend I only see occasionally remarked on my looking like I had lost a significant amount of weight. This makes 3 people who have remarked on noticing I am losing weight. I wasn't expecting people to notice until I had lost my next 20 lbs.
@rorymason you are definitely headed to onderland soon. Yes I identify with all you mention but instead of A1C I worry about high cholesterol and I have to watch my iron since I have a genetic condition where I do not slough off excess iron. The good thing is there is a good treatment which is giving blood. You are not alone. Recently I too realized that I had to do slow down my expectations and do this in phases (20 lb increments) since my body just won’t accept losing more than 20 at a go so I have to take breaks. I decided instead of getting down on myself I would celebrate my accomplishment and then wait for my body to lose more while maintaining weight until then. I realize that little breaks from eating at a deficit is healthier too.
@corgisncollies Nice to see you join us . I think this group may help keep you on track, which should help to making progress and have less worries. I am learning about what foods do what for us and apples are very healthy. Positive thoughts are powerful too.

SW: 225

September goal: 223
Ultimate GW: 135
Summer was lovely up until I broke my ankle while biking and have spent the last five weeks on the couch with my foot elevated. The ortho doc wants to avoid surgery and I’m apparently right on the cusp of fix/don’t fix. Follow up x-rays this Friday.
Here’s to good choices and accurate tracking!

Well, I had the goal to start a strength training workout in Sept and, I started this morning. I weighed in at 213.8 this morning which is .8lb gain. I'm moving on though. I had my first colonoscopy last Monday and, I stressed ate a bit last week. Then my Dad came to visit for the weekend and, brought treats from back home. I actually resisted diving headfirst into half moon cookies and, I'm taking that as a nsv.

Hello everyone. I've been silently following this group but I thought I'd start sharing. Everyone seems so friendly and is inspiring.
SW: 253
CW: 212.8
GW: 153
Goals: Honest tracking daily, Pool 5x/week, 1 hour walk per day, 80-120 oz of water daily, sleep 9 hours per night, wake up at the same time, gratitude journal, keep track of weight in spreadsheet daily
I started Ozempic a couple weeks ago and it is working. I had lost 50 pounds with just tracking, but after gaining some back during the summer and struggling, my doctor decided to start me on it. So far so good!
I am also obsessed with the pool. My surgeon started me going to the pool for aqua rehab for my frozen shoulder, but then I fell in love with swimming. I can do a slow, gentle breast stroke without hurting my shoulder which is awesome! I am one with the seniors at the pool now and have made some friends. It is really refreshing meeting people with similar interests. I even met a lady at the pool who lost 100 pounds on Ozempic and has been on it for 3 years without issues. Makes me feel better!
I'm cooking sweet potato and black bean enchiladas tonight, and it is probably one of my favourite meals ever. My brother in law is coming over so I thought I share this incredible recipe. It's from Cookie and Kate's website if anyone is interested.
Happy Monday!

9/6:239.8
9/16: 240.4 I have been varying but seem to be going back down.
September Goals
:🍁 bet to the mid 230s and stay out of the 240s
🍁 drink more water
🍁 keep sugar intake low
🍁keep making healthy meals at home with only 1 day a week meal out if needed.
🍁 exercise plan in flux with leg injury
🍁 increase general activity level (NEAT) with cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking the stairs to the basement once a day.
Although it seems I have gained weight I actually haven't in that my weight varies a lot. My highs are lower now and my lows are lower and my average or medium weight is lower. Instead of hovering around 243 I am hovering in the 241-240s now. I just want to get that hovering consistently into the 230s.
I am going to see my Dr finally tomorrow and talk about my leg injury. Next week I have a PT appointment. My leg feels better but I still have trouble with walking for long, stairs and getting up and down from a sitting position - basically bending with weight on my left leg.
I see evidence that this slow loss, keeping from gaining and how I am eating to burn fat is paying off. My neck is slimming and firming with less loose skin. I have a bit more to go. My belly is a lot smaller. I have a lot more to go. That is what that book I mentioned last month is helping with. It is teaching me how to eat to improve my metabolism and stimulate fat burning. I just want to heal my leg so I can exercise. I came up with a revised at home strength training routine last week that avoids using weight on my left leg. I plan to try it this week along with more aqua exercise in the pool. I just found out that green tea helps muscle and joint issues too.
@anneliz Sorry to hear about your Aunt. I too hope you too stay quitting smoking and up your exercise.
@Pamici9 I guess we are both resting our injuries. I hope your ankle heals well. It is frustrating when you are trying to up your exercise and have a setback.
@jrago47 I am glad you decided to join in posting . Nice goals. I am considering Ozempic if I can’t lose the next 20 this year. I lost 20 last year. I seem to be losing again. I identify with your love of the pool. There is a group of seniors at my pool too but I have been concentrating on walking and strength training earlier so I wasn’t going to the pool enough. I think I will be going more now to heal from my leg injury. I had frozen shoulder too. It is mostly gone with PT and pool exercise. I will check out that recipe.
@michellevt725 that slight weight gain is likely to be a temporary gain due to starting weight training . In the end strength training will help lose weight.

I have been in stress hell lately so as usual, though I'm eating within my calorie limit, all weight loss slows/stops…..
That's how my body reacts. If I lost weight with stress, I would likely be a size 3 right now.
I'm annoyed, because I was feeling very positive/hopeful this fall and was happy that I was finding some Joy as I tend to lean pessimistic 😆
So looking for the positive...which is...
At least I am not using it as an excuse to eat badly, so thats a positive
Hopefully, this too shall pass, or more likely, that I finally figure out a way to not let stressful things derail my everything. After all, I cant control other's decisions or actions, I can only control my reponse to them.
We will see how it goes 🤷♀️
@michellevt725 I always gain weight after lifting but its supposed to burn fat eventually and its good for you. So when I read your post it made me wonder why I still have not gone back to the gym!
@KeriA Happy to hear that ppl are noticing your weight loss. That's a good feeling.
@anneliz35 My condolences on the loss of your Aunt. Loss is hard.
@jrago47 @Pamici9 @corgisncollies welcome!

I'm realizing that I should have started Ozempic a lot earlier in my life. Even on the loading dose it has changed my entire perspective on food. I don't stuff my face anymore, I don't open the pantry 100x a day, I don't have crazy cravings. It's incredible what it has done in a short time. I started Sept 1 and I've already lost over 7 pounds on it. I don't think I'll increase my dose at my appointment next week if it's working at this dose. We'll see what my nurse practitioner says.
I've reduced the length of time I am at the pool to try and ease my shoulder soreness. Last night I needed my husband's help getting into bed because I was in too much pain. I don't know what causes the pain to be so bad some days. I have my appointment with my surgeon Oct 8th so I should get some answers. I might actually need surgery at this point which I am terrified of. I've heard shoulder surgeries are incredibly painful and hard rehab. I don't think I'm ready to go back to my job as an RN at this point. We shall see.
It's nice hearing everyone's progress and stories in here!

September Goals
:🍁 get to the mid 230s and stay out of the 240s
🍁 drink more water
🍁 keep sugar intake low
🍁keep making healthy meals at home with only 1 day a week meal out if needed.
🍁 exercise plan in flux with leg injury
🍁 increase general activity level (NEAT) with cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking the stairs to the basement once a day.
I went to my Drs this week and we decided to suspend statins to see if they were related to my leg weakness and pain. Already I feel I am better after only 2 days being off the statins. They might not be the total cause but I think they contributed and were infringing on my muscles healing. I feel more positive about recovering now. Next week I go to PT.
Exercise plan for now is to do aquafit 2-3 times a week. Try very short walks and PT. Maybe some modified strength training. I can do arms, some core and right leg.
@rorymason I hope things get less stressful.
@jrago47 glad the ozempic is working for you. I have over the years been able to not crave food, to stop eating when I am full and even get my sugar intake down to very little. I am finally losing again slowly. However I do not do well with the Holidays. I am hoping to do better this year and to lose as much as possible before they come. I was able to recover from frozen shoulder through PT. I still feel a little soar once in a while. I identify with having issues with muscles since I am trying to heal my right leg. Hope we both do better soon.

I'm struggling with these morning workouts. With it getting later and later before the sun comes up, I'm worried about how I'm going to do during the fall/winter. I'm telling myself it's a work in progress, I just don't to make that an excuse.
Finally had a meal out with my husband yesterday and, it was so nice to be just the two of us. I'm needing extra attention lately and, I don't like that.3 -
SW 225 Today's WT 202
🤷♂️
Kinda down in the dumps today. Today is my mom's birthday. Though its 11 years since she's gone ( how is that even possible?) It still saddens me ❤️.
I'm going to have alot of changes in my life shortly, none by my doing. So trying to navigate that and not let the stress of that derail my weight loss or my current health.
My health stuff is stable for now. I have something progressive so Im monitored every 3 months... so basically waiting for that bad 3 month visit but hoping its many years away. Did I not say I lean pessimistic? Trying to work on that, lol.
I have an out of state family wedding to go to. Looking forward to seeing family, a little worried about over indulging. Again that's under my control. All of the other above is not.
Mainly this morning I'm thinking that last time I hit 199 lbs I thought I accomplished something great, and was there only a hot minute, as I went back to eating badly and regained the weight. I dont want to do that again.
@michellevt725 its good that you are working out. I still have not gone to the gym. Or walked. Not good.
@anneliz35 dont let it get you down. Losing 25 pounds in that time frame AND quitting smoking is admirable.
@KeriA hope you get your leg issue straightened out and it improves. I agree with your thinking about the weight loss. 20 pounds then the next 20.
@jrago47 glad the Ozempic is working for you. Unfortunately, I dont think it would be a good choice for me with my medical hx.
Have a great week everyone 🍂
