Back after several years and several pounds
HI Everyone,
I'm Ghee911 and I've come back to the fold after several years off. I just turned 70, am a part-time Nanny for infants and toddlers (who are my stress relievers). I was basically immobile from 12/25/23 - 6/30/25 (unable to work), starting out with a tumble down the stairs during Christmas out of state, resulting in a broken foot and surgery 01/2024, physical therapy brought hip issues finally resulting in a hip replacement in 10/24, a secondary hip/leg surgery a month later due to infection. Between these two surgeries I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. It just got better and better. 🙀 Given I saved all my bone issues for the last 18 months, I can focus on self-taught physical therapy and recovery, since I was unable to make much, if any headway in my recoveries from all 3 surgeries.
Given all the above, I've gained over 80 pounds from stress, lack of movement and snacking. I'm horrified at myself but determined to start using some willpower to get control over myself. A couple lessons I learned: 1) get up and move, 2) eat more nutritiously, and 3) get dressed everyday. I didn't unless I had to go somewhere, so I really didn't notice how much weight I was gaining. Amazing how the mind works. 🤔🧠🙀 Not to mention my favorite workout, swimming.
I look forward to my renewed beginning on My Fitness Pal.
