@Chapter_3 ditto with you on "blah." Is it "Seasonal Affected Disorder? (SAD.)" I think it is real for me. These dark evenings are a gut punch.

11/6 133.2 almost to start weight! A roller- coaster round of emotions. Stayed on nutrition & macros, but lacked energy to🏋️♂️. I WILL today. Eyes on BHAG. Ready to shed many heavy thoughts, embrace consistency and joy, yes, lots of joy! More Eleanor & Tucker today. DH left for a big cycling 🚴♀️ trip through Sunday night so I have time to focus on me 🙏 , health and friendships. ⚠️ land mines ahead: two nights out, (tonight and Friday), so I WILL plan ahead. @pezhed we went to a little town, “Blue Ridge” in N Georgia … That was our home base for three different day hikes. It is quite a family oriented area & I was sincerely impressed. And, good luck rejoining the workforce… I know you will do a terrific job balancing the many demands before you! 🥰

“SAD” - thank you for mentioning that as I completely forgot about it! Makes sense! I’m glad to be back on Standard Time but it will take considerable adjustment. My hope is that we lock in here as studies have shown it’s best for our natural circadian rhythm. Why mess with what God created? ☺️

10/30 - DNW yep…sort of adopting that all or nothing attitude right about now…I'd like to continue to simply maintain for the rest of this round and start fresh (probably with something new) on 11/7 with probably a few BDay pounds to lose! 🙃

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 313
Oct 28 – Nov 6, 202564 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW: 129.8
10/28 – 129.2 Yesterday was actually good! Yay! Calories were actually around 200 under, but I have eaten so much lately, I have a few extra calories stored on me. I don’t plan to do this repeatedly, but good to see no spin out yesterday. Let’s get through today!
I am going to make a point of doing the coffee thing in the morning and making sure I catch up on all your posts. When I am not, it is an indicator of where my head is all.
(haha, this year I remembered to update my about me instead of months later!!)
10/29 – 130.0 Ok, payback for cuddling grandchildren when DD warns me they both have colds. Sore throat and body aches, which make me want to EAT……
10/30 – 130.4 not surprised. I did zero tracking yesterday. Still feeling bleck, but grateful that is all it is. :)
10/31 – 130.4 no tracking yesterday, again. The cold is sticking with me and changing each day, first sore throat, then body aches, then congestion, now added ear ache and slight coughing. Need to check in on mom today, but will keep it short and mask up. Despite the cold, plan to join my DGSs trick or treating this evening. We will be outside, and heck, I can’t give it to them as then gave it to me. :P
11/1 – DNW just did not feel like facing the scale this AM
11/2 – 130.0 Actually grateful as during Halloween eve I went on a binge of the leftover snack bags I purchasesd for trick or treat-ers. We had the most kids at this home ever…….one child. Amazon delivery driver also got one. Lots were left and were just too tempting. Then last night went out to eat, but I did my smart method of a lovely appetizers as my entrée. A charcuterie board was shared between the four of us as a starter. Still did not expect a down. <3
11/3 – DNW
11/4 – 131.0 The upward trend continues. Posting quickly before heading to the airport. Two weeks in Florida. Hopefully I can use it as a reset of attitude!!
11/5 – DNW at MIL’s house
11/6 – 131.6 Really ended this round with a bang!!!! BUT I am posting today AFTER having gone walking roughly 6.5 miles (watch died so I am estimating from experience)2 -
good morning, late starting this challenge but woke up inspired and eager to get back on track. So hello everyone. I’m 67 🤪and lost 40 lbs during Covid and became vegan as well and also gave up alcohol, so I guess I could say Covid provided gave me a kickstart to look after my health. I’ve kept the weight off, up and down a few either way. I’d love to lose the last 20 lbs I never did.

Date, Trend Weight, Comments10/28 - 197.7
Yesterday was not stellar—it was my weekly brunch and knitting day, and although I didn’t pig out, I did have french toast. Then DH made chili and cornbread for dinner. Oh well! Today’s another day!10/29 - DNW
10/30 - DNW
10/31 - 🎃 DNW
11/01 - DNW11/02 - 197.7
A bit off the rails the past few days, hanging out at our big local dog show and not eating carefully. Walked a lot, though! I don’t have anyone to show anymore, but I had fun cheering on my friends, seeing people I haven’t seen in ages, and smooching lots of my friends’ doggers. Anyway, my trend weight hasn’t changed and I’m back on track today. I haven’t read posts, either, but will try to catch up with you all. I did look at the pictures—some great costumes out there. @Skyleen75 ! 😂🤣😂
11/03 - 198.5
Ah, yes, there’s the uptick from the end of last week. It’s ok.
11/04 - 198.5. In the interest of not getting back into the “I must lose every day/week/round” mindset, or my old obsessing about calories but still eating too many of them, I’ve decided to stop commenting on upticks. I’ve also decided to work on one or two changes at a time rather than all the changes I might make for the better. (That was edited to change “should” to “might”—no shoulds!) I’m going to start tracking those and go for 30 days in a row before adding another. First up, from today forward. I tend to have a snack at bedtime even though I’m not hungry and probably had a snack between dinner (5 o’clock) and bed (10:30-11). I know I’d eliminate ~200 calories by breaking this habit. I’ll mark success with a happy moon. 🌝 And I might follow through on daily intentional exercise with the walking and exercise apps I bought and use sporadically. I’ll mark success with a little jog. 🏃🏽♀️I’m trying to make this all positive and joyful rather than punitive and shameful. I have no specific weight loss goals, just a downward trend.11/05 - DNW
I was in a hurry this morning and forgot to weigh in. 🤪11/06 - 198.4

Total: NO CHANGE. I'm proud of no change because I went away for a few days. I still tracked while I was away and was pretty mindful, other than more then I should have halloween chocolate and some salty snacks. But the chocolate is gone now and I put all the other salty snacks in my husband's office so I'm not tempted throughout the day. Back to routine! I've already lost one pound and I am back to my 50 pound loss :) Just gotta hold onto it now!
See you in the next round!

Well, I don’t know if it’s me, my phone or the app. I seem to be unable to do what I want on here.
@_JeffreyD_ I love your comment about being a foodaholic! That is truly my problem on a cruise - even with food that didn’t appear appetizing!
I am trying to get back on track and have done well the last few days. Now if I could just get back in the habit of getting on here first thing in the morning!

@Chapter_3 that sounds lovely! And thank you for the encouraging words 🥰 I also fully agree about standard time. So glad we transitioned! It was getting so difficult to get out of bed. I’m afraid if the US decided to stay in one time it would be daylight time. That’s the proposal that made it to congress in recent years. I really would hate that!

I’m Amanda, 5’2” 40F in Appalachian Virginia.
Non-scale goals (tracked for prior day for remaining days of this round):
🏃🏻♀️ Intentional movement 8/10 days
🚫 No alcohol 5/10 days
📝 Track 5/10 days
SW Rnd 313 - 128.8
RGW - 127.810/28 - 129.0 🚫🏃🏻♀️ This week is full of social challenges. Book club tonight, Rocky Horror Picture Show late on Thursday, Halloween on Friday. Trying to also get my life together because I decided to move forward with the job. My start date is November 10. I feel kind of mixed about it but the extra income will help us. I feel slightly paralyzed this morning but it’s time to get a move on!
10/29 -129.6 🏃🏻♀️
10/30 - 129.6 🚫 Gah, cannot seem to motivate to track again. Probably because I keep eating treats and junk that I do not need and should not be eating. I know that I’m not going to be able to get even into the mid-120s if I can’t start tracking again. I hate doing it but if experience had taught me anything, it’s how necessary it is. So far I’ve tracked everything today. Just need to keep going.
Got my workout in this morning and went to the doctor for my annual check up. Got my flu shot so mentally preparing to be tired tomorrow for trick or treating. My doctor pointed out that I’m down 5 pounds from my check up last year, which would be pleasing except that I know I was even lower in January - 123.8 according to MFP. Hope to be there again soon!
10/31 - 130.4 📝🏃🏻♀️🚫 Finally a mostly-on-track day just in time for the weekend. We had ramen for dinner, which I’m blaming for my gain today. Unfortunately, more challenges coming up over the next couple of days. On the positive side, this round’s dates allow some recovery following this weekend. It’s tough when it ends on a Monday!
Happy Halloween everyone! 👻🎃💀
11/1 - 128.4
11/2 - 128.8
11/3 - 132.0 🚫
11/4 - 130.4 🚫🏃🏻♀️ Just haven’t been focused on this lately. The weekend was a disaster. Working out has been pretty good but I’ve been snacking a ton. Halloween candy is not my friend.
11/5 - 128.8 🚫🏃🏻♀️ Okay, I did reflect yesterday but did not post it. Sorry I haven’t caught up on everyone’s posts! This morning I chose self-care and did a strength workout and went on an amazing mountain bike ride! I’ll be chained to my desk soon enough so I wanted to get out while I could. My goals for today are to track, resist mindless candy consumption, and drink water. Making my round goal is looking very unlikely, but maybe I can get back on track at least to head into the next round.
11/6 - 128.6 🚫🏃🏻♀️📝 A far cry from my round goal but totally makes sense given my behavior over Halloweekend! I’ve been in a holding pattern for quite a while here. Round 314 will be my round!

@Jane022896 I have been told that we wake up in a dehydrated state and need to refill. I have started to add drinking 1 -8oz cup of water with my pills before having my coffee. It's interesting that I have noticed that I am drinking less coffee then before and not missing it.
@deepwoodslady I'm sorry that your son held you down and forced you to eat the ice-cream 😉I might just let my hubby know that he forced me to eat the chocolates…
@Skyleen75 I have to get my bulbs in the ground too. We had a little snow last night, it did not last but it's a start.
@_JeffreyD_ I so agree this is a dangerous time of the year. Halloween candy is almost the worst. I'm taking the last of ours to my ladies group this morning. That way I can share it with others and get it out of my house.
@_JeffreyD_ and @Chapter_3 Last eyar I got a sunlight from Costco and use it every morning from the end of October to the end of March, it really helped. With sunrise today @7:44am and sunset @ 4:53pm the days are just getting too short.
@Chapter_3 planning for nights out is a good idea, wish thatI did it more. You can and will navigate them.

Round 313
Oct 28 – Nov 6, 2025
Female, 54, 5”1’
HW: 209.5 **was higher but I just did not get on the scales.
RSW: 194.4
RGW: 192
FGW: 175
UGW: 140I am Kira, working, an empty nester, and married. I live in Edmonton, Alberta with my hubby, dog, Farley, cats Shadow and Hunter. I have tried all diets and programs out there over the years, but nothing has worked for long. Now I am working on loving life and trying to be healthier.
A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
Phyllis DillerGoals for this round are:
- Check in every day.
- Weigh in every day.
- Get my step count to 10k daily.
10/28 – 194.4/ 4,036/19– no change today. I was thinking I would have a gain so I’m happy. Finally feeling better. Not many steps yesterday. My goal for this round is to get my step count up. I have become very sedentary again. Need more movement. Not much sleep last night watching the Blue Jays game till the bitter end. I’m feeling sorry for the fans on the east coast.
10/29 - 194.6/4,877/6 - a slight bump up but expected. Had a busy day yesterday. Happy that both the Blue Jays and Oiler's won last night.
10/30 - 194.8/5,924/26 - not liking this trend of upward movement on my weight. But I did add some more steps to my day yesterday. I ended up working the Spooktacular event for a second time (it's a fundraiser my office runs for a local foodbank).
10/31 - 193.8/4,081/17 - nice drop this morning. My step count was really low but with driving over 200km yesterday it was expected.
11/01 - 193.0/5,590/145 - a drop again today, I'll take it had a bit too much Halloween junk last night and was expecting a gain, probably tomorrow I will see it. I did get lots of active minutes yesterday going through and putting out the Halloween decorations. Today I am working an open house all afternoon so that will be on my feet. Then tonight we have a party, again on my feet outside around a big fire.
11/02 - 192.4/7,062/98 - another drop, not sure how that happened with all the Halloween candy I ate the last 2 days. I guess that I have balanced it with an increase in my steps and active minutes. Had lots of fun at the party last night, it was really fun to see some people that we haven't seen in months. Hard to watch the Jays lose but they lost in extra innings and played really awesome. The Oiler's won last night so that was good.
11/03 - 193.4/3,755/30 - a gain which was expected, we had to take the RV to our friends for storage so I drove 2 hours and snacked and didn't eat well at all.
11/04 - 192.6/5,295/21 - thankful to see a drop again. Yesterday was a big paperwork day. We got the winter tires on the van, today we have to reorganize the storage shed and get the bikes, mower and plants stuff put away for winter and make sure that the snow blower is accessible.
11/05 - 193.4/8,631/148 - I seem to be bouncing around a little in my weight still down for this round overall. Not going to make my goal of 192 for the round. Yesterday was a good day. I got my bedroom changed around and ready for winter, plus we got the garden hoses taken down and disconnected. Today we are going to do what we were supposed to do yesterday and get the storage shed organized for winter.
11/06 - 192.2/5,652/19 - So I ended the round at 192, which is where I wanted to be. Happy with that. I didn't think I would make it after yesterday. I didn’t feel that great yesterday and ended up watching a lot of tv.
Looking forward to the next round!!

11/05-184.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 183.910/28-183.4 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.1) ) I wasn’t going to weigh today because our choices yesterday when out of town were never-ending pasta, breadsticks and soup. Olive Garden was a bit of a treat since even our closest faraway towns “up north” where I live don’t have Olive Gardens. I feel like I boxed a lot to take home (ate it later for dinner) and did “okay”. Not great, not too bad. But the stop for ice cream at my son’s request on the way home was totally unnecessary. He held me down and forced it down my throat or I wouldn’t have eaten it. It was quite the public display! Anyway, hopefully some of the fluid retention will drop off in the next day or two. I don’t think the whole 1.6 lb increase is fat. Fingers crossed!
🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃11/06-185.0 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.0) Nice job everyone for showing up and not giving up! I saw lots of progress from so many this round. Not a good round for me. I knew Halloween week would be my downfall! On to the next round with hope in my heart!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

End Round 311: 168.9
End Round 312: 166.0
Goal Weight: 136 lbs.
10/28: 165.9 My brain initially read the scale as 156.9 and I was super excited and then was like that can't be right, it wasn't!! But still pleased with this round start. Lots to do today, first work, then music lesson for my daughter, meeting up with a friend to discuss a project we are doing together, clean the house, grocery shop for book club this week, get book club discussion questions ready, and then work on more projects for an upcoming event…and hopefully find time for a family dinner!
10/29: 165.3
10/30: 164.5
10/31: 163.8
11/1: 164.5 A little bounce up from yesterday…I was in a calorie deficit but eating patterns have been off the last two days with timing and macros - the foods I choose definitely make a difference with my body & weight loss. I'll be more focused today eating to my scheduled plan.
11/1: 164.4 Was hoping for a bigger drop today but a loss is a loss, so I’ll take it and move forward! I enjoyed an extra hour of sleep with the time change and now I'm off to enjoy my day. I should be grocery shopping and cleaning my house today but instead I'm going to have a lovely day with friends. Lots going on in the upcoming week…my daughter starts her college internship, hosting 2 friends for their birthdays (making the cakes), and a big project I’ve been working on for about 6 months goes live. Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
11/3: 164.0 Delicious family dinner last night, I typically double the recipe for whatever I make on Sundays to have extras pre-portioned and ready for quick easy dinner or lunch the rest of the week for me. I don't mind eating the same thing every night for a week but look forward to something new every Sunday. We typically only have 1 -2 meals a week when everyone is home together and I can cook.
11/4: 163.9 Inch by inch still trying to get back to that 10/31 number, which must have been an anomaly as I've been well in a calorie deficit every day. Wonder if I misread the scale (ha ha). I've slacked, off a little bit with my water intake, been at about half my usual water, will make that a priority more.
11/5: 163.6 Still focus on getting that water in, I heard a report yesterday that said we wake up already in a dehydrated state and should consume at least 16 ounces right when we wake up and in doing that we will train our bodies to equate waking up with replenishing the dehydrated state and our bodies will begin to wake up more naturally. Worth a try!
11/6: 163.1 Happy with my results this round…on to the next! Hoping the next round brings me into 159.x

good morning, late starting this challenge but woke up inspired and eager to get back on track.

@deepwoodslady THANK YOU! I gave myself a stern talking to and have been able to listen to myself! Yesterday I wanted to go to a steakhouse for LUN-NER but our friend wanted to go to Chili’s-AGAIN. He doesn’t see any point in trying something different if you like where you have been. This is the fourth time we have gone there in 4 luncheon “dates.” I’ve about had my fill of him - his way or the highway! His A1c has been very high but instead of changing his eating habits, he’s on medication. He ordered steak fajitas - ate the whole thing and got extra tortillas plus ate most of the chips and dip appetizer. I was strong and just ate my steak, asparagus and splurged on about 1/3 c mashed potatoes.

@deepwoodslady I had to go back and see what I wrote about your graph. My comment was how a picture speaks a thousand words and how your graph qualifies. IMO it shows so much success. I know you feel frustrated at times, as do we all, but I think your graphs speaks to your accomplishments, and I hope you see that as well. <3
