    Boy:
    AlphaSentauri Dylan
    Squall Zakary

    Girl:
    Andromeda Venus

Please don't. You DO realize those names would have to go on a resume one day, right?

I agree! Your child will be an adult one day!

I have 2 children - Jack and Maya. If we have another we like Isaac or Noah for a boy. For a girl I like Arianna or Jessica. Not sure what my husband likes for girls' names.

As far as the actual thread topic goes. I already have kids, who have great names; Ruby-June Catherine and Saul Benedict.
Alternate names were Hannah and Henry, though. I still really like henry.
I DID through a phase of seriously considering naming my son Tiberius, or sneaking it in as a middle name. I didn't though, because he has to live with that name forever. We could've called him Tibby for short:laugh:

Well I will give the name I would have named a boy if I had had one Bryce Edward( Edward is my husbands grandfathers middle name they were extremely close , he died when my husband was a teenager.

I have 2 daughters 19 months apart already
Ana ( pronounced long A not short )Rose and Olivia Renee, my oldest has my middle name and its my great grandmothers names on both sides and we are the only ones who have it .

So no future kids I had my tubes tied :) never been happier love my girls but I'm more than done .

Already have a girl named Amelia Jane.

Agreed with the wife that were we to have a boy, he'd be called Ethan William. Ethan because we like the name, William for my grandfather. I also think the combination is very strong.

However certain steps have been taken that mean we'll not be having a boy now other than by adoption.

Yikes! I predict your child will be legally changing their name in the future.

    Please don't, for their sake.

I have a variety of names for both genders...

    Boy:
    Jason Alaxandre
    Thomas Erik
    AlphaCentauri Dylan
    Squall Zakary

    Girl:
    Andromeda Venus
Amanda Laura (honoring a late friend)
    Lillyanne Rebekkah
    Felicity Sawyer

Do you like these names ?

The ones in bold are horrible. I mean, they're so bad I'm not sure if you're serious. The rest of them are super annoying b/c of your attempt at original spelling. Sorry, you asked.

I told my husband that if we had twin boys we could name them Mario and Luigi.

I guess now we'll just have to go with Dan or Joe.

I'm done having kids but there was a time when I thought I'd have more . . .

    Girl:
    Olivia
    Vivian

    Boy:
I'm not particular, probably would go with a family name.

My one and only child is Ava Elizabeth. A woman I worked with years ago had a daughter named Ava and I always thought is was a beautiful name for a girl. Elizabeth was my ex-husband's grandmother.

If I were going to have children (which I am not), I would name them either Ocean or Meatball. Boy or girl.

Speaking as someone with a hard to spell surname, for Dog's sake don't give your kid a name with unusual spelling. It's annoying enough having to spell your surname every time, without having to deal with constant misspelling due to people thinking they know how to spell your adjusted spelling common name.

And when in doubt - go with British Royal family names. Can't go wrong, really.

You know, with all the talk about bullying, one would think that parents would want to give their children "bully-proof" names. Why send your kid to kindergarten with a bulls-eye on their back?

Or the inability to obtain a job.

Or the thousands of dollars you need to pay to legally change your name.

Or the knowledge that their parents were idiots.

sorry but... having weird spellings does not make your kid unique. it just makes them have a commonly misspelled name and no keychains with their name on them! seriously, I have a NORMAL name and I was bummed enough as a kid when I couldn't get a freaking mickey mouse keychain at disneyland. if you like the name do your kid a favor and go with the way it's most commonly spelled, they will thank you for it later.

some of these responses are gold though

No kidding! My daughter's name is Ava (not odd, right?) and FFS I can never find anything with it spelled that way. I find Eva all the time but rarely do I see things with it spelled with an A.

No such thing. If you're picked out as a target for bullies, they'll always find something. Just a name that has a few rhymes can be turned into a taunt - even if it's a nonsensical one.
