Occasionally when I go shopping I grab something I have never tried that looks intriguing. Well, I found down the health aisle, 'Seaweed Snacks'. Didn't look or sounds particularly appealing, but don't knock it til you try it, right? It was the most vile disgusting thing I have ever tasted. Not only was the taste unbearable (and excessively salty), The texture was awful.

    Fried okra.

You want to know what's even grosser than fried okra? When it comes in your csa box and you don't use it, forget about it, then find it weeks later at the bottom of your produce drawer with slime oozing everywhere.

I think Brie cheese .... was the worst and I was forced to eat it. I was close to just puking it all ... not pretty.

The number one thing I refuse to eat is ginger. It comes from ordering a wrap once that had huge chunks through out the whole wrap, and it wasn't even listed in the ingredients. After that it's mushrooms, olives, Bell Peppers. I will eat chili's but not peppers....ICK!

So I'll try anything once. I was at a sushi place and one of the appetizers was whole baby squid in some spicy sauce. I thought what the hell, I like squid, why not try the whole thing?

Oh my god. I popped it into my mouth and when I bit into the head it was all chewy with some weird gooey stuff inside it and the texture was just the most revolting thing I have ever experienced. I didn't TASTE bad but good lord the squishy head in my mouth. I think that's the only time I've ever actually spat food out since I was a little kid. Never again.

It's somewhere between tripe, head cheese, pickled pigs feet, or anchovie paste.

Beluga caviar. Any caviar for that matter but that's the only I ever tried. I really do not see what is so special about it that it would cost so much.

I'll never put caviar in my mouth again.

Haggis, in Scotland ... though I tried not to chew. Oh my word.

Yeah, I can't get into any organ meats- the taste is too game-y. Fortunately I had haggis at a B&B where a small portion was included on the breakfast plate. I tried it, it was awful, I won't try it again.

Not me... but my son (aged about 8) in a restaurant ate a rasher of bacon, whole, it had a thick edge of barely-cooked fat. He gagged - I pulled it out of his gullet in one long piece.

  • Texture wise I'm gonna have to go with dango. It's a Japanese dish that was prepared for my Japanese culture club by some of the actual Japanese students on campus. It's pretty much a ball of dough.. but in a light brown sweet sauce.... and it was served kind of cold. The first time I tried it, I wanted to vomit so badly but didn't want to offend the students who put so much effort into making food for us.. so with a heavy heart I swallowed it....but never again. Ya hear me?

A very nasty (and expensive) Pizza at a restaurant near the beach on Santorini.

I very nearly peed in their pool as revenge.

    Followed closely by spouts, anywhere.
