What are your thoughts on peanut butter??
Replies

I avoid it, not because of its taste (it's yum!) but because of the high calories.
I agree. It is my favorite food, that I never allow myself to eat.Maybe I should rethink it.
Did I read Quinoa crisps???? Some please share this recipe!0 -
I've always disliked it. Feels greasy to me. Too much concentrated fat.0

I love peanut butter. I'll admit, sometimes it has been (or can be) a problem food for me and at times I had to avoid it. But if I keep to the serving and allow myself to have it responsibly it's not a big deal. It's when I allow my mind to slip into all or nothing mode that usually creates the problem. :blushing:
I have tried the PB2 stuff too and while I like it, 'real' peanut butter is still wayyyyy better!0 -
I'm not a fan of the cheap kind that's oily and icky. I love the Skippy Natural peanut butter! It's so great. It tastes awesome with vanilla protein powder and half of a banana. I almost want to make one right now. lol.0

Three cheers for peanut butter!
When I have hiccups, I eat a big ol' spoonful of PB -- HICCUPS INSTANTLY CURED! Works everytime. Solves many of my food cravings, so even though it's got a lot of calories, in the long run I'm avoiding junk food and feeling satisfied. I get the natural sort to avoid soy (a migraine trigger for me), but no idea how it compares nutritionally.0 -
I don't like PB (I know...!) but I LOVE almond butter! I eat it most days but no more than a teaspoon due to the calories.0
-
I barely have any fat in my diet day to day so purposefully have some (sugar free) PB to get some fairly healthy fats in my diet. Plus it's delish!0

I avoid it, not because of its taste (it's yum!) but because of the high calories.
Same here unfortunately because if I have peanut butter, I need jelly, 2 slices of bread and some milk. And then possibly another sandwich. I like it a little too much haha.
Lmao!!!!0 -
I wish it came in reversible jars. That way I could turn the 8 empty jars next to me inside out, consume every last gram, and not feel like I'm wasting half a teaspoon of peanut butter every time I wash a jar.0

One of my favorite smoothies for nights when I'm running a few hundred cals short for the day is:
Chocolate yogurt frozen (regular yogurt put in the freezer not the yogurt that comes in an ice cream container)
Chocolate syrup
1/2 frozen banana
3/4 cup of skim milk
scoop chocolate protein powder
2 TBS Peanut Butter.0 -
yes, definitely, yes
There is always at least 2 jars of it in the cupboard!0 -
I stock pile PB!0
-
the absolute best in the world. i could eat a whole jar, and i wish that was an exaggeration. for dieting purposes i switched to PB2 and it works just as fine for me - has 1/4th the calories so it makes me happy that i can have large amounts0
-
That sounds like a great smoothie, I love the PB & J smoothie by The Body Reset Diet, but I'm definitely trying this one. Thanks for sharing! :-)0
-
I liked PB until I discovered almond butter and sunflower butter - now I prefer them. I wish they came chunky though, chunky PB has the best texture.0
-
It's funny you should mention peanut butter. I'm probably the #1 fan of Jif crunchy pb. I have a pb&j sandwich almost everyday for lunch, on whole wheat bread of course.0

It is apple season, so my thoughts are that I need to buy an extra tub!
I love Jiff natural, but I have gotten addicted to fresh made PB that a local store offers!0 -
Yay!0

It's delicious, filling, portable and cheap. A staple in my low carb diet. I'm having a ball eating 7+ T a day if I'm hungry enough. Keeps meals simple and keeps grocery bill down too!0
-
I prefer nutella. Not big on peanut butter.0

I love peanut butter!
Because I'm doing some serious strength training, I've decided I need a bit more protein in my diet and have been adding a teaspoon of peanut butter (and flax seed) to my Red Mill thick oats in the morning.
Delicious!0 -
It should be the national food!
agreed!0 -
I eat a serving at least 4 times a week (typically in my protein shake for some extra protein and creaminess!). Nothing wrong with it.0
-
I store my natural peanut butter upside down (lid on tight) so I don't have to mix it before using.
Mayver's peanut and coconut spread contains only organic peanuts and coconut and is delicious!0 -
I love pb - I'm just getting started on this whole thing and my sweet tooth is still crazy - so, I melted 60% cacoa chocolate chips with 100% natural peanut butter, poured it over bananas and then froze it
They are pretty sweet and may help if you have a sweet tooth like me
It's definitely an every now and then treat - not every day

It's alright. I don't find it very filling though for some reason0

Just read that it lowers breast cancer risk. Thanks again, George:0
-
I think I should have put some in my oatmeal this morning.0
-
I love peanut butter as well as almond butter it's fine to have 2 tea spoons of it as long as it is 100% natural, no sugar, no salt, no added oil0
