angela, they will just watch you carefully this next visit. I am sure you were measuring big because of all the water weight. I assume that your blood pressure is still normal--that is what would make me concerned. If you start measuring big every appointment that will put you at risk for a bigger baby--just one can be a fluke... I am sure that your baby has dropped. I started getting a lot of pelvic pain the last month with both of mine. I am sure that your cervix will start opening in the next few weeks. You still have time, I am sure you are just ready to get that baby out and it will come soon! You can always start the old wives tales of how to go into labor...

Congratulation Shoppingqueen your baby is beautiful and I loved your story and all your weight loss posts:wink: I would so vote you the mfp champ of the month for the healthy pregnancy and healthy and quick weight loss lol.

Angela- I am sorry that the swelling is worse, I hope the advice the other girls gave you will help out. In this awful heat wave especially try to take it easy and find something enjoyable to do. Hopefully your MD will be there for your next appointment I hate dealing with nurses when I have a question that they can't answer.

Okay so its still not Wednesday so I think I will hold off another day to weigh in but my mom is in town and I keep eating out so I know the numbers aren't going to be good yikes so scared. But onto something more fun. I would like to announce that my 3D ultrasound went great and the baby's gender was finally determined its a GIRL! I had my family come in and my mom who is in town this week got to be there it was so fun and surprising I thought it was a boy this whole time. I will try to scan the pics in and add a link for you all but the pics aren't very distinguishing at this point.

Shoppingqueen: Thank you for sharing your baby story and congrats on the new bundle she's so precious!! Enjoy your time w baby.

Angela: I have not been pregnant before so I can't say I know how you feel but I just like to say you're a champ for enduring the swelling and discomfort. You're almost there and it will all be worth it in the end.

Cali: Yay a girl! How exciting I absolutely loved shopping for my baby nieces they are the most fun to dress up. :)

So, the hubby and I have been doing the baby dance this week and I really hope that I can switch over to this forum soon. I like to ck in now and then even though i'm just TTC. You ladies are the best! Now, I didn't reach the weight i had intended but if it doesn't happen for us this month i'm going to continue on the weight loss journey then TTC again in Dec. Have a great week ladies.

Aww congrats! I want a girl next but my husband wants another boy. I'd honestly be okay with either! That's awesome that your family was able to be apart! My mom was very involved with my first pregnancy! Exciting!

Baby doesn't like anything! I feel sick all of the time and nothing seems to help. I am either at work or at home laying on the couch or in bed. I want this part to be over already. Sorry for venting but all of my fav foods make me super sick, even just the thought of them. Anyone have any ideas in controlling this nausea? I seem to be sicker with this baby than any of my others

Something that has helped me is gingersnaps. I just snack on them and for somereason it makes a big difference. I also have found that if I am not drinking enough water I feel sicker--so drink and eat ginger.

It is also interesting because I feel that I jiust need to sit around too--I have had a hard time cooking anything in fact just thinking of what to make for dinner yesterday put me over the edge. Deli sandwiches have really hit the spot for me. I have the closest to real turkey we could find and I can make one of those and not get sick. So yummy!!

Oh and gum has helped me too! Sometimes just a bad taste in my mouth gets me...

I'm right there with ya! I just think about certain things and feel gross! I'm trying to eat a lot more snacks and thigns throughout the day, it seems if I get hungry I get nauseous. However, it is hard because I am a teacher and I cannot eat while in class. I tried the saltines before getting out of bed trick and it has helped for the early morning time.

All I do is work and sleep, too. Our babies are taking all our energy  I'm ok with that as long as they're growing to be strong and healthy! I'm just ready for the exhaustion to ease up at least a little........

I am jumping over to this board full time now that I got by BFP!!!!.

I noticed a lot of you are experiencing morning sickness. When did that start for you? I am at 4 1/2 weeks and am not noticing anything yet. I just have mild cramping, which I read was actually pretty normal in this stage.

Also, when did you start adjusting your calories? I have been at 1200 and was wondering if I should stay there for a few more weeks before going to maintence?

My husband and I have been trying for 4 years to concieve. No luck yet. This is a huge struggle, on top of both of us needing to lose a large amount of weight. Any tip? This is a great group.

After 4 years, you possibly have already been to a fertility specialist, but I thought I would just throw it out there just in case you hadn't. My husband and I tried for over a year before we were sent to a fertility specialist. He determined right away that I had PCOS and was able to prescribe Femara to make me ovulate. It was as simple as that - I wasn't ovulating!!! We then got pregnant in the first round of Femara. . .

Good luck to you! I can understand your frustrations and would like to offer my support in any way I can!

congrats shoppingqueen, I've been excited for the story! she's beautiful, and you did such a great job staying healthy through your pregnancy!

So I woke up this morning and was SUPER sore. Every step I took felt like he was pushing on my pelvis and bladder, I was having really bad ligament pain in my crotch area (sorry for the wording lol) and 2 people mentioned I looked like I dropped. Then I was having lost of contractions, definately irregular and not labor contractions, but more than usual. So I was HOPING that at this appointment they would tell me that my cervix was coming forward and even better dialating ... but it ended up being even worse. *sigh, so still hard, closed and far away. I had to see a nurse instead of my MD because of the stupid schedulers so she couldn't answer any of my questions and didn't make it sound like he'd dropped at all. PLUS they told me that I'd gained 8 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS! WTF?! I know I've been swollen and because of lack of money haven't gone grocery shopping resulting in high sodium diet the last few weeks and less than healthy food ... but seriously 8 pounds?! Then to top things off I'm measuring 37 weeks instead of 36 weeks, which puts me at risk for having a big baby. :-( I feel super irritated with myself, depressed, fat, ugly, and frustrated.

Ang - try not to worry too much. Remember my doc told me my belly was measuring big - and I went into labor that night! So it could just be all fluid.

Going on teh 1st of October to get my Mirena taken out. I haven't had a period in almost 2yrs. Anyone else TTC after having a Mirena? How long did it take? First time around I was on hte pill and after getting off it and having one regular period we started TTC and succeeded in the first month. I hope it goes the same this time.

YEAH!!! Congratulations!! Morning sickness (or really just a lot of nausea) didn't start for me until week 7. Up until then I was just really tired...and still am. They say the first trimester is exhausting. As soon as I found out I tried to eat anywhere from 1500-2000. My Dr basically said as long as I'm not losing at this point, I'm fine. If I find I'm continuing to have a loss, I'll have to up my calories. Going straight up to 2000 right away after being on 1200 may cause us to gain too much initially, so just eat when your body (baby) is telling you, but keep it healthy.

    So happy for you!

Welcome to the group canning and dawn!

Thanks for the suggestions, I had some ginger ale and rice but just not with it. I had only had nausea up until this point and started getting "sick" yesterday. My baby must definatly hate chinese food because nothing has stayed down since I ate that. I went from 1200 to 1700 cals my doc said 2000-2500 some I am aiming for 2000 although I rarely make it.

No worries :) I lost 30lbs before I ever left the hospital and from talking to some of my friends that seems pretty normal even though my baby was 10lbs 12oz.
