"Why are you fat?"
For me, I've always been a little overweight. Until I got pregnant, I was 160 and 5'5 for quite a few years. I was a little self-conscious but looking back at the pictures I don't know why. A few weeks ago I was 171 and now I'm 177.
I got fat during my pregnancy and a week after I had her, I had already lost 25 pounds. 17 pounds is a lot of fat & I never realized how much.
Oh .. & I love food and will eat anything in site.. haha.
So.. Why are you fat?

I wish I had a magical excuse that made it not my fault buuuuut...it's really just because I like to eat and I like high calorie foods.0

Always been fat. Fat baby, fat toddler, fat child, fat teen, fat adult. Of course i got bigger as I grew up... both naturally bigger and vertically bigger? My eating was definitely a problem... that and i didn't really exercise. I would eat 1, maybe 2, meals a day that were probably around the 4000 calorie range just themselves. :P while working or going to school. I also say i have a few medical issues that have always kept me big lol0

I'm not fat anymore.........but I was fat because my illness made me unhappy, and i used candy and snacks to make myself feel happy.0

I did ok managing my weight until I got cancer and the doctor put me on steroids. They made me crave everything in sight.0

Was always small/average in high school. Met my husband 6 years ago and put on a little "romance weight" from all the wine&dining. I became pregnant earlier this year and unfortunately miscarried and just sunk into a depression eating everything I could get my hands on. I'm now back and ready to make a change for when we try for a baby next year. Needing all the support and friends I can get! I've got a min. of 50 lbs to lose0

I was always overweight even as a child and poor life style choices continued. Then, got PCOS/insulin resistance, which went un- diagnosed for many years and subsequently failed many diets.
Finally getting my health under control.0 -
I suck at portion control and I love frozen coke :-)0

I enjoyed college and not working out and playing sports like I used to. THen I got into drinking lots of beer and eating a lot. Then I got even more lazier and stopped working out completely.0

Ate way too much and didn't get off my blubbery butt! (unless it was to go to the fridge!) :laugh:0

I am not now...as I eat at a level in line with my activity.

Sunk into a horrible depression after my break-up (engagement) and foreclosure (because of the break-up) - used food as a comfort...very difficult habit to break.0

ATe to much and didnt move enough. I could come up with a million excuses and hell maybe a few would be almost ok but it does no good lying to myself. Booze didnt help much either lol0

Had a sucky childhood. Ate to not feel. Hard to disconnect from that when it starts that early. But I'm changing it now.0

Because I didn't like myself. And it only got worse the larger I became, so the eating increased. I've come to realize now that I was eating so much to dull the thoughts and negative feelings rather than deal with them. Once I decided to spend some 'me' time and learn to love the person I am inside, I began to lose weight . It's a natural progression: love starting from the inside out0

I thought that I was invincible from weight gain because I'm very active.0

I fractured my wrist in January of 2013, and my heal bone in April of 2013 due to osteoperosis. The injuries very much reduced my activity level. I was also told to eat more protiens to help the bones knit, so my caloric intake increased. I'm walking on my bad leg now, but still limping. Working on improving my quality of life and health by moving more and taking off the pounds I gained while recovering.0

I've been heavy for quite a few years, though despite what BMI says I should be, I maintained a weight that while high on the scale and still tagged as 'overweight' on BMI, I was healthy (per the doctor), I looked great, and I could work out like it was nobody's business and not feel like I was going to puke or pass out after the fact.
Then I got a job. With a boss that pissed everyone off so much he was constantly buying the employees food to forgive him. And because I enjoy a good, free meal, I never said no. Then I'd go home and we'd eat out again. Or I'd make wrong homemade dinner decisions.
At 5'3", I hit 210 lbs. and was a physical and emotional wreck. Might not seem like much to others who're shorter and heavier (or were), but for me, it was an all time low and I knew things had to change. Being categorized as morbidly obese when there are all sorts of fat-related health issues in the family was no longer an option for me. However, I'm 30 pounds lighter and still technically MO because of my short stature, but I sure don't look like it.

Ummm, pretty simple how I got fat - ate too much, moved too little. How I got slimmer - reverse the pattern - eat in moderation, move a lot!0

1. The see-food diet. I see food... I eat.
2. Lots of excuses to exercise and get active.
3. Being Asian. You are considered "very fat" at 60-65kg! Sad but true...0 -
first time I gained weight was due to burning myself out by binge drinking every weekend in college, which stopped my workouts and also being hungover so much all I ever wanted to eat was comfort and/or "easy" food.
this most recent gain was due to me going through a deep depression (still am but at least i'm taking control of my weight again). I was ordering a XL pizza (plus side orders) almost every single DAY because it was the only joy I could get out of life. I gained 60 pounds in 6 months. Now I'm on the loooooong journey back to being slim again. Oy.0 -
