i posted this in the "supah bulky" thread, but here it is for you again...
I'm in month 7 now, but here are my 6 month photo updates...
(before photo shows me *almost* at my heaviest)
(first photo shows me 2 weeks before i first started weight training)
(post 30-day Squat Challenge plus 30-day Bret Contreras Glute Challenge)
(current side view)
You look great!2 -
This is the first time I have posted here - I really never thought I'd ever be able to post a comparison photo! I have been weight training since November. My progress has been quite slow because I spent months making sure my form was right with a trainer. I really want to do Stronglifts 5x5 as I think I would see better results in a shorter space of time but at the moment I am sticking to the plans my trainer writes for me. I took the most recent photos this morning and can't believe how different I look now!
As well as lifting I do a circuits class once a week and a pole fitness class once a week.
You look so tiny now. Definitely see the effort you've been put in! Great job!2 -
Bump for later0

You all look amazing!! Such inspiration on here.
I just started lifting and this is great motivation. Thank you all for sharing!0 -
Bumping for inspiration! Would love to see results of people only training with Dumbbells. If that exists lol. That's all I have right now to start out with.0

Wow that's awesome. Can I ask what weight you started with and what you worked up to?0 -
I remember this thread. I saw it and thought to myself 'I want to be one of the women in here.'
Last May, about 165, before I started New Rules of Lifting for Women (I started back on MFP on April 27th, started lifting about 3 weeks after that, have logged in every day since)
After New Rules and starting StrongLifts! (Imgur says this was 10 months ago so August 2013)
Now, 1/3 of the way through Strong Curves
AND sometimes I actually wear clothes. But rarely.

No problem, I'm still on pretty low weights compared to some but my sessions are pretty intense. My workout is basically a full body weights routine with plyometric exercises between sets, sometimes with treadmill intervals sometimes not.
My trainer changes everything up every few weeks and my current program is all based around press ups with and without dumbells and mountain climbers/squat thrusts with treadmill intervals. It's tough but amazing. I've just started doing Metafit classes in the last two weeks, all bodyweight routines but fast paced and again amazing workout in only 30 minutes..
Here are some of my weights/exercises.
Squats - SW 8kg - CW 12kg
Squat press - SW 6kg - CW 8kg
Wide row - SW 6kg - CW 10kg
Inner row - SW 6kg - CW 10kg
Dumbell curls - SW 5kg - CW 7kg
Lat pulldown (machine) - SW 25kg - CW 34.5kg
Squat jumps - SW 0 - CW - 10kg plate or dumbell
Tricep press - SW 5kg - CW - 7kg
Chest flyes - SW 6kg - CW - 8kg0 -

January 2013
After 10 months with a bulking and cutting phase:
Lifting has made me feel more awesome inside and out!
You look fab! Defo inspirational!0 -
I do not have any proper before pics as I was very very camera shy due to the weight I had gained. However, I did find one taken on holiday just before I started on MFP at the age of 44.
I lost 37lbs through a reasonable caloric deficit and lifting over the course of a year. Since then I have done a bulk and a cut and am now reversing back up ready to bulk again. A couple of my most recent pictures, now at 46 years old:

Lifting 5x per week on a deficit and working with a trainer. I killed it every single session.
My overall results of lifting from start to now.
WOW! Amazing results!! You look amazing!!0 -
Today is 150 days since I've picked up lifting again. Seemed like a really important day to take photos. 15lbs lost, body fat percentage is down 10-11%.

Hi
I have been going to Les Mills BodyPump for a few weeks (once a week) and no joke, I have started bulking already. The fat from my arms has reduced so much and muscles have started to show through. Its an hour long class and I would recommend it to anyone! I AM HOOKED! Going to try Les Mills BodyCombat next.1
