Females only - lifting/weight training results?

As much as I enjoy looking at a buff man, it seems much harder to bulk up as a woman.
When I took a weight training in college it didn't seem to do much at the time. I've always had very weak arms. But I want to change that.
I'm planning on starting to lift/weight train again but I would love to see some before/after pics to get me more inspired/motivated.

Not sure if you can see my pics, if not send a friend request. Results are mostly from weight lifting.23

I have been doing some weight training since february.
the left is the week after I started with my trainer in february. The middle is mid may when I switched trainers ( my first one moved out of state) and the last one is about a month ago. I only lost about 3lbs in that 7 months.

Only 3lbs? Muscle muscle. Your tummy looks a lot smaller.17

I've been going to the gym for 3 years now, but was always doing the same routine - 30 minutes weight training, 1 hr cardio training, 3-4 times a week...gained some weight at some point...couldn't understand what was happening.
Last July, weighing 183 for my 5'3'' frame, I decided that enough was enough and that I needed to do something. Hired a personal trainer and here is the difference in 3 months of switching my program a bit...45 minutes weight training and 45 minutes cardio. 8 lbs difference in this picture. I think I can see a difference:

yep. only 3lbs. I was 195lbs in february, and in August I hit 192lbs.
Here is 7 months of the back of my thighs.

Unfortunately I don't have any better before photos, but this one will do the trick. It's taken in May when I finally realized that even though I'm running 30 miles a week, there's something wrong with my nutrition and training (I was about 145 lbs). I started heavy lifting and using kettlebells, and I made my running trainings more diverse and efficient.
Out of all these things, heavy lifting is what made me feel powerful and awesome.

Lifting 5x per week on a deficit and working with a trainer. I killed it every single session.
My overall results of lifting from start to now.

I love love love lifting. The difference in TWO months at three times a week resulted in 17 inches and 19 lbs of fat GONE. (The right foods in the kitchen helped of course). Feeling fantastic!11

Thank you! I know it looks like a lot of muscle in the flexed pictures, but in regular clothes or not flexed I don't even look like I lift.3 -

I do not have any proper before pics as I was very very camera shy due to the weight I had gained. However, I did find one taken on holiday just before I started on MFP at the age of 44.
I lost 37lbs through a reasonable caloric deficit and lifting over the course of a year. Since then I have done a bulk and a cut and am now reversing back up ready to bulk again. A couple of my most recent pictures, now at 46 years old:

This is me after losing 40 lbs through cardio, diet and very light lifting.
And a year later after adding heavy lifting to my routine, compound lifts, a little less cardio and eating 1800-2200 gross cals per day. Only went down 10 lbs on the scale but lost inches like crazy and became stronger than I've ever been!
I'm still a work in progress and looking forward to the day that I have abs and an *kitten* like Sarauk2sf's! :blushing:17 -

Thank you! In total 3 years. I'm a single mom and only worked out on my lunch hour. May have been slow, but it was more than worth it.3 -
