Did my 33 - 3X11. Last few were very weak (not as low as I usually can go), but this is a MAJOR improvement for me!!! I used to only be able to do 3X10 (maybe 12 on the last set), so I claim improvement.

@nu2012 - glad you tried on the last 2 to go deeper, I hope it helps.

@ucb2984 - WOW, I want to be hope to have a goal like that some day. Right now, I would like to do one pull-up. Just one. I am working on it by using the assisted machine, and also working on kipping pull-ups (which I think are more fun anyway). I still have a ways to go, but am seeing progress. Any advice would be appreciated!

@lb0030 - I am very glad your cats breath does not smell like mouse.

Ok...34 done : 7:10:17....The last few in the last set was getting way too tough!! But At least I did 17 in a stretch, when in the 1st set I gave up at 7.

Now it will get tougher with higher number of push ups!

don't go down fast and then do a push up. Slow down on the way down to keep those muscles working a bit harder.

    Holy crap - 47???

    OK, here we go:

    Diamond hands - 11
    Wide hands - 14
    Regular - 12

Wait, that's only 37. Crap, 10 more to go.....

Diamond hands - 10 OK, I didn't go down all the way on these, but I did them.

You know, for all the posts (Thanks JDad1), I only see TWO of us actually doing push-ups.

JDad1, 'fess up, have you been doing your 100 a day?

    CU tomorrow!

Woohoo!! That's a lot of push-ups!! Just did 48, 12:12:12:12. Spread into two sets over the evening. I just did normal push-ups. Once I get these right, I will go into the modifications.

I found this website about proper push-ups... http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/15/proper-push-up/ which I found helpful, so just wanted to share.

Yes, seems like it's just the two of us doing.....and still surviving!! So far..good!!

I am taking a break for 2 days. I worked with my trainer today, heavy lifting focus on chest, plus some shoulder work. I hit a new PR by benching 95. This is a 15 pound improvement... but I so wanted to get 100!!! Oh well, next time. At any rate, I have to take a recovery break for 48 hours. I will continue checking in, and will take it back up on Mon.

Today I included some push-ups in my warm-up:
    10 regular
10 going to a T (not sure what this is called - when you do a push up and then kind of roll to one side so one arm is straight up in the air). JDad1, can you help?

@ NU2012 - don't stop! Unless you also want to take a recovery break now, in which case - please come back. I am really enjoying this challenge!

Ok. I just did 52. 8:12:16:16. Wow!! 95 bench! That's amazing. You definitely need a break. Next time try 100!! I haven't done any heavy lifting myself...though I have been considering it. I like gym classes more, in which we do body weight and resistance band workouts...and the heavy lifting area seems intimidating.

I will try to continue....it's getting harder.....but still going!!

@ jdad1 : so nice you forgot to separate your posts in bunch of posts!! Do repeat it and follow this transgression every time!!

Believe me, I did try 100! I just couldn't do it. Amazing how heavy 5 pounds is...when you add it to 95 pounds. :-) I have been working with a trainer for quite a long time, but just added true heavy lifting to the work outs less than 6 months ago. He really keeps me focused on proper form so I don't hurt myself.

    I'm back!

15-15-14-7-7 Just couldn't get that through that last set without a break. But, got my 58 - and this is an improvement from a couple of weeks ago!

@ JDad1 - thanks for the name of the T-pushup!

@ NU2012 - hope to see you back as well.

    Let the games continue!
