    Great work everyone....almost 100!! Yayyy!!

After we have reached 100 push-ups, I was thinking of continuing with 100 push-ups...maybe alternate days and have a weekly goal of say 350 push-ups (I was thinking 300 and then I thought just add 50 more for that extra mile??)??

We can divide push-ups: some wall push-ups, some on an incline, some on knees and some proper: wide, diamond and some push-ups with clap (now that's tough!!) and tricep push ups http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG2SuXdb72M and proceed to quad hop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZTYP-cnqFs <--- that is crazy!!...and work on perfecting our push-ups and add variety... When we report we tell how many of each we did...and I just saw what is quad hop...I am not sure I can even do that..but let's try?? And we don't have to do the whole crazy variety...whatever we feel comfortable doing.

PLUS shall we start a burpee challenge?? we do one burpee when it is 101 comments and so on. Our 100th comment is the zeroth mark for the burpee challenge. And we can do it alternate days, when we are not doing push-ups.
If there is any other exercise you guys prefer, other than burpee, do share. I thought burpee can be a good cardio when we reach 10+.

    ETA: One more push-up

I like the idea of a challenge of some sort. How are we thinking this would work? Just have an exercise and an amount to try and reach each (day? week?)

Can we add divebomber push-ups to the list? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2PAVZD6730

    15, 15, 15, 15, 10 standard
10, 8, 6 diamond hands (but didn't go down very far)

I like the idea of the weekly challenge, it allows us all to work it into our normal exercise routine. In terms of the add-on exercise, I would suggest that a burpee is really another form of push-up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ_wss84VmI, don't you think? Maybe we could add a core exercise; one that we can have variations to so it can hit upper, lower, obliques. Or roll-ups. I like core because I know I do not work out my core enough, but will yield to our leader's decision.

I have been trying to find some examples on YouTube, but my YouTube keeps freezing for no apparent reason, so I will edit later when I can post a link. Very frustrating...

    95 done. 25:20:20:15:15.

When I was mentioning burpee, I meant the one without the push-up :-) Burpee seems to be a good exercise for all round conditioning and really good for legs , chest, abs....http://www.12minuteathlete.com/burpees-are-awesome/ But perhaps with our own workouts, plus the push-up weekly challenge, it could just get too much.

And yeah even I would want to work on my core. So for an add-on exercise, what about the crunchy frog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlaWP_PVi9s . It's one of the easy exercises for abs and we can build up from there. ...What do you guys think? http://www.strengthstack52.com/periodic-table-of-bodyweight-exercises/ here it states that crunchy frog is an easy core exercise. Another one I like from the periodic table is cross plank. I suggest crunchy frog (since it is an opposite motion to the push-up) but feel free to choose any core easy exercise from the periodic table link above. Easy, so that in a week or two we can all do 100. And then we can think of upping the level.

So, in summary :-), after 100, we have a weekly push-up challenge of 350 push-ups : wall, incline, knees, proper: wide, diamond, with clap, tricep, dive bomber, quad hop and any variety anyone wants to add. (we don't have to do all but we can share our progress as we move to harder ones plus try to perfect them)
Plus an add-on challenge , a core exercise for every comment, with 100 being our relative zero for that exercise.

    96 (97) divebomber push-ups.

32, 32, 32+1. I had to add one because skydivelife showed up after I had started my sets. My arms are shaking so badly that I can barely type this.

In answer to the burpee question. I only ever do them with the push-up, but I am currently working nights from home while the rest of the family sleeps, so to do burpees and not wake everyone I would probably need to do them in the garage or outside. That said I am not opposed to them. I mean, the mere thought of them makes me want to die, but we can add them to the rotation.

Did 100. Took a while. I wanted to try the variations. I decided that tricep is the hardest one; I can't really do it - one side comes up before the other.

    10 - divebombers
    8 - tricep
7 - quad hops (easier then they look, or I am doing them wrong)

    go get haircut

    15 - standard
    6 - divebombers
    2 - tricep
    5 - quad hops
    3 - knuckles

    break...

4 - standard (but pushed hands off the ground to start practicing for claps)
    10 - diamond hands
    10 - standard

    break....

    5 - divebombers
    5 - divebombers
    10 - wide hand
    10 - "T" push-ups

Now we start the frog-crunches, or whatever they are called. Starting at 1. Plus 350 push-ups a week (Wed - Tues). Wow, what a long way we have come!!!

1 crunchy frog done for the 101 comment before me.

Plus I also did 100 push-ups... 2x20 proper push-ups, exercise ball push-ups 30:15, wall push-ups 15. We have come so far, so had to do a 100!! I have to try more variety in the coming days...

From tomorrow starts our weekly challenge of 350 push-ups.

    I also did 100 push-ups
    In! I did the 101.
2-4-(...)-12-17-12-(...)-4-2, military push ups, 30 minutes to finish.

I have a shoulder weakness so I can't do push-ups all that often though.

Welcome Waster01, nice of you to join us. With your shoulder injury, this second phase might be easier for you. We are doing 350 push-ups per week (Wed - Tues), plus 1 crunchy-frog for each comment >100 each day.

3 crunchy-frogs done. I love this exercise; how can you not like something called "crunchy-frog"?

@ nu2012 - congratulations! Did you think you would hit 100 push-ups in a single day when you started this? I never did, thank you for helping me push myself further!

4 crunchy frog done!! It's hard!! My core is very weak and this works the back as well as abs....hopefully I will see some improvement in my core with this exercise.

@ Barbonica, no I didn't  and it feels good. In my gym class nowadays, I can at least do 10 proper push-ups in a set and only switch to knee push-ups if they want to us to continue the set. I also gave an advice to someone to add one push-up a day :-)

@ waster01: Feel free to join us....As Barbonica mentioned we have the crunchy-frog for every comment > 100 game!! Plus the 350 push-up/week challenge. Our week starts Wednesday! We have graduated :blushing: from the push-up game since we reached 100 push-ups with that!!

7 crunchy-frogs done. Did a few more push-ups, but today is chest day, so will fit more in there.

@ nu2012, better get started on the push-ups, 350 with only 4 days to go! You can do it!

@ Stuartlan, did you leave us?

I am sorry to say that I have reluctantly decided to bow out of the game. I am doing a fair amount of work on strength training, and trying to work this into my lifting schedule is just too complex for me. I am really glad I did it - my push-ups improved and I know I got a lot out of it, but some of my other work has suffered because I went into lifting sessions with some fatigue. Thank you for setting this up and for being such a great work-out partner, and good luck with your continued success!

    edit for spelling

11 crunchy frogs done. Missed a day....

@ Barbonica, I completely understand, it's getting tiring for me too but I will try to keep it up as long as I can! It was really fun doing this with you and thank you for sticking with it as long as you did! I really appreciate it and my push-ups have improved a lot!

I will try to continue with it, as a personal challenge....though I probably won't be posting here! If anyone wants to join (and if you want to start again @ Barbonica) feel free to message me!

This looks like it was fun. I may do something similar in December but want to focus on abs...
