Just made a family favorite last night:
almost 1/2C water on bottom then
I take a bottom round roast w/ paprika and Mrs. Dash no salt Table Blend and do a little dry rub on it.
1 sweet onion cut in half placed on either side
4 carrots chopped (can keep circles or wedge sticks)
4 Sweet potatoes (cut in chunks)
2 cloves garlic pressed
season veggies/potatoes w/ a little more table blend.
I let it simmer all day. Cozies up the house with the warmth and the smells! It's a fail-safe everyone will eat food that is perfect in fall / winter.0 -

Slow Cooker Meatloaf
1-1/2 lb lean ground beef or turkey
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs (I've also used uncooked oatmeal)
2 tablespoons grated onion
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground sage
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp nutmeg
In large bowl, combine eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion, salt, sage & meat. Mix well and shape into a 9 x 5-inch rectangle or oval. Place in a slow cooker. Cover and coon on low 6-8 hours. Combine ketchup, brown sugar, mustard and nugmeg in a small bowl. Pour mixture over meat. Turn to high. Cover and cook an additional 15 minutes.
I don't have the nutritional value on this, sorry! I'll try and figure it out later and add it in!
I have tried this and its amazing, some tips.... spray the slowcooker with pam, take a strip of tinfoil to go across you slowcooker and fold in a strip put in first and let the ends hang outside the bowl and set the formed meatloaf on top for easy removal, I also cut up some red potatoes and added to the sides for a whole meal. Great recipe!0 -

 not sure if this was in here already or not but i love to make split pea soup with ham. i put a whole package of split peas in the crock pot with 7-8 cups, more or less depending on how thin or thick you like it, of half chicken stock and half vegetable stock. then i chop up celery and carrots and onions to your liking and put those in. then i cube up about 2 cups of ham (we like turkey ham) and put that in also. we cook it on low overnight and all day for dinner, and its amazing!! pepper as needed!
Quick question - does this recipe really cook overnight AND all day? Just wanting to make certain not to overcook the peas. Thanks!0 -
bump i just got a slow cooker for xmas and cannot wait to try some of these recipies out!!!0
