I am 5'5" and I float between 125 and 130. I am banging on the door of age 53.
  • My aim is 155- 160. I am in 56+ age group and have large bones (smile); I don't want to be any less than that as I feel at my best at this weight for the age I am. Everyone thinks I weigh much less then I actually am.

I am aiming for 130 which is 3 pounds away, however, I still feel I have a lot of fat on my abdomen so I might try to go down to 125. The only trick is that I have never been that during my adult life. I was 127 when I got married at 20 and I am now 55 so… it might be a pipe dream and staying at 130 may prove to be a challenge.

for now- only 171. why? because then I will no longer be considered "obese" on the BMI scale.
I hate the scale, but it can give me a small attainable goal to strive for.

Super good question! I am going to be 44 this coming Monday, and now I weigh 169. I am big boned, but what does that really mean? "big boned"?? last year I was at 148 and feeling pretty good, but my GOAL weight is 125 - 130. More so I want to be a size 8.

Thanks again for the good question!

    -Aim

At 5'5" and 130-135 lbs. you should be a size 6. As I float between 125-130 I am wearing a mix of size 4-6. You can test your bone size to see if you really are "big boned". I read (and believe) that you can test your frame size by taking your dominate hand and loop it around your opposite wrist, touching your middle finger with your thumb. If your finger and thumb overlap, you are small boned, if they touch, you are medium and if there is a gap, you are large boned. I started my weight loss at just a little lighter than you are now (165) and my wrist size never changed. I am medium.

I'll probably sound crazy since everyone is giving such low weights for their goal, but I want to be 165-170 (initially), 155-160 at the lowest. :)

My first goal weight is 160 and then maybe 140. I might settle with 150.

My goal weight is 127 but ideally I'd be happy with anywhere from 135-140 (:

That is my initial goal as well, ugh hate the BMI chart...I just don't want to be considered obese anymore.

Not crazy. I am 5'5", currently just over 200lbs, and don't care to weigh less than 170. I just want it to be a FIT 170, instead of an unhealthy lower number.

You don't sound crazy to me. 30 years ago I was 130, today I weigh far more and I am totally happy with my weight. 155 to 160 is fine for me.

I am 5'5 and my body is comfortable sitting around 160 pounds. However, now I am about 140 and feeling great! My goal is to be 55 kg or 122 pounds. I will have never been that small in my adult life and I am looking forward to it.

My first goal is to get under 200
then to reach 175 (last time when I weighed 170, I thought I was sooooooooooooo overweight)
Wouldn't mind to be 175 again.

    would be thrilled at 150
But would be ecstatic at 135

I would definitely not want to be below 150, that would be my ideal weight. Never gonna get there though I doubt.

To all 5'5" ladies: You can get to goal, no matter your size now. Just eat at a reasonable calorie deficit, do cardio enough to burn extra calories and lift weights. No matter how small you start, soup cans or water bottles today, 5 lbs. next week, whatever. Engage your muscles and try to build from that. Your goal is long term health, not a weight lifting competition. Be strong. This isn't easy but you can do it! Yay for our size!

The lowest I've been as an adult was 131 so my goal is 130. I went to see my doctor the other day and according to his chart 165 is a "healthy" weight for 5'5".
  • Im 5'5 and my goal is 150, once I get there I will see if I want to lose anymore but I have been over 200 for as long as I can remember so 150 is a good goal for me!

My goal is to be 145, and I am between 152-154, depending on the day/time of day. After I hit my goal, I am going to worry more about body composition and getting stronger.

120, because I want small legs! I tmight end up being 130, because I have a broad frame and a large bust.

iam 5'4 my goal is 160 to 170. I have a large frame and lots of muscle already working on building more. Going to buy calipers or maybe get dunk test for body fat but using a online calculator that takes frame in to it using your wrist and forearm size along with your waist and hips at 220 lb I only have arournd 30%bf as it is.

By this test I'm small boned, I would have always thought I was medium to big boned, but maybe that's just because of my excess fat. I guess I do have small hands and feet.

Just changed my goal from 153 to 143. I know I can hit 155 now so I want to challenge myself to see if I can lose 100 pounds total.

The goal I set when i first started losing was 120. I am actually pretty happy right now at 132 or so. I just want to get my bodyfat lower. And i am a little over 5.5. Close to 5' 6
